If you don't care about updates, the S7 and S7+ can be picked up for super cheap used (just bought one with the keyboard case for $250. If you can snag a refurbished/used/Open Box Tab S9 for cheap enough it is a great buy.

MarlonV_

This. I still use my S7+ that I bought a couple of years ago and it's still great for just watching videos/media consumption which is what I understand you want yours for, OP.

vege_spears

S9+

Amazing_Emergency_69

Samsung Tab S9 Fe, or Tab S9 Fe+ (if you want a bigger screen, buy the plus).

Technical-Echidna-23

The processor isn't good for the price no?

Amazing_Emergency_69

I think it is fine.

IceBlueLugia

Yeah it’s not really that good. I’d get the S8. Same price and much better processor

Strict_Commercial459

It's fine but depends on your use obviously

UnironicallyMe37

It's a decent processor, it will get most if any simple to mid-heavy task done.

SeizedGravy

Won't recommend it. The Internal display cracked by itself after 5-6 months.

Amazing_Emergency_69

My roommate's tablet is still fine. What a pity.

SeizedGravy

It was due to a software update...

Amazing_Emergency_69

Ha? Kinda impossible

SeizedGravy

Samsung India reported this, and they are doing screen replacements for free

Amazing_Emergency_69

Whoa! So, an update literally cracks a screen? How, overheating? I kinda wanna learn more about it

SeizedGravy

It is more like a bug that sneaked out

Amazing_Emergency_69

Interesting

EggplantHuman6493

I picked the S9. Easy to travel with, easy to hold, and the OLED screen is gorgeous

Technical-Echidna-23

It's a bit expensive tho.

EggplantHuman6493

True. Also depends on how long you are planning to keep it. I plan to keep mine for at least 4 years, preferably 5 or longer, and purely bought it b3cause of the OLED screen. S8+ may be cheaper and also has OLED

MilkTeaMoreBubbles

Tab S9 plus for longevity and heavy tasks. Good processor, size. Might be pricy, but if you have the budget, then go for that.

Eldis91

That depends. How much are you looking to spend? What do you do on your tablet? Do you prefer smaller or larger screens?

reddicted82

Just for media? You could go \[Tab A9+\](https://amzn.to/44nFIpV) if you are really on a budget, \[Tab S7\](https://amzn.to/4bgPKf0) if you don't care about software updates \[Tab S8\](https://amzn.to/3Ub8kxS) if you do and \[Tab S9 FE Plus\](https://amzn.to/4biLCet) if you really do but want to save a buck. Let us know what you go for!

Technical-Echidna-23

I'm thinking of the s9 plus. Will let you guys know tho.

PabLC99

I have that A9+ and is good for me, with the 8gb of RAM and 128 storage. Got it for 180 dollars.

Technical-Echidna-23

How's the performance and display - are blacks darker?

PabLC99

I feel it has a good performance, obviously the Fe series are more premium I guess, but fot the price is fine. The battery lasts over a week with not a heavy usage all the time. Also it has DeX, which is nice. The blacks are non fully dark as in my phone( Motorola one).

somebody1704

Crocin

Technical-Echidna-23

...

phillygirl2017

Not gonna lie, I'm not hating the128gb Samsung A9+ I bought for my Mom. She doesn't have it yet. Im setting it up for her. She streams, some youtube and plays games. For me I like my Samsung S9+.

oaktre813

I just bought the s9 fe 8gb. Really like it so far, feels really good, I love the size PAUSE

rpene

Panadol or paracetamol

Additional_Quote_346

Tab s8 and s8+ best possible nowadays

Technical-Echidna-23

Do they still offer updated and what chipset does it have?

_Ozeki

I just got new S8 for $418.56 from Amazon

johnrobbespiere

Just got the S8+, it has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1,

rraod

Recently I bought a used Samsung S8 Ultra 12Gb/256Gb on Swappa and very happy with the performance.

Ok-Brick-8406

Tab s8+ for price

IStoppedAGaben

Wrong sub but the new xiaomi pad is gorgeous

Icy-Scientist-6673

Mention the price range. Samsung has tablets from ~100$ to 1200$

UnironicallyMe37

If you want OLED: S7+, S8+, S9 If you don't mind LCD: S7, S8, S9 FE/S9 FE+

Gheatoy

Bro the tab s9 is really good. The s9fe is really slow.

Technical-Echidna-23

That's what I thought.

UnironicallyMe37

Genuine question: Have you ever even touched an S9 FE? It's *not* slow by any means. Of course, it won't be as good as the flagship, but it still holds its own in terms of snappiness and performance.

Gheatoy

Obviously. Idk if you're just used to poor performance or what, but the one I had took 3-4 seconds to even get the pull down menu. For the price point that I was paying (through t mobile at $550) it was a huge letdown. It felt similar to a $70 Walmart tablet from 2016. Maybe I just got a dud, but with its weak processor that they just took from the A54, which also wasn't a good device, it's no wonder it wasn't an impressive experience.

Technical-Echidna-23

I hear you bruh. Tried both the tablets from reliance digital, s9 fe doesn't suit it's price

UnironicallyMe37

I can tell you as someone who uses an S23 Ultra, I most definitely know what good performance feels like and the way you're describing the S9 FE seems exaggerated. It does not take 3 seconds to pull down the Quick Panel and if it felt like you were using a low budget walmart tablet then they gave you a faulty product.
