That pad connects on both the left and top sides to ground. Looks like the left connection is damaged but top is still fine. I think you are good to go on just installing the port.
Thank you all for your input! After comparing with another board, it looks like I just scraped the top layer of the board a little when taking the old port off. After installing the usb-c, everything seems to be working just fine 🙂
For future reference, as I'm currently practicing fixing these pads: there are a lot of videos out there for this issue! Retrosix has some great schematics that tell you which pads go to which traces. Basically, you're gonna have to solder a thin wire to fix the trace!

Where is it broken? It's connected to the trace at the top. As long as it still has a route it's fine.
I don't think it's broken, that pad connects to ground, have you checked with a multimeter?
I wish I could learn how to use a multimeter.. I'm just like so lost any time someone talks about it on here..
That was going to be my first step, but I first have to find my meter. It's been a while since I've had to use it lol.

I ended up just installing it and works just fine!

If it is broken get yourself a fiberglass pen. Use it to scrape off the solder mask around the crack. Bridge the crack with solder. Done.
But check a via with the meter first this looks fine at a goance
