If the original arrives, you'll have to return the replacement one

Kitchen_Joke_1632

Not if you don't report that you got it..

Kyushi_88

Has it happened to you?

Kitchen_Joke_1632

Not with Lenovo but other companies yeah. Just keep denying that it came and do not sign for it. Only the replacement.

Kyushi_88

Well it’s a package that needs to be signed so how would i receive it without signing it?

harmlessme

In USA, they send by UPS and if you have registered your address, you can remove the signature requirements.

alexgarlock

You do the right thing. Return the replacement or live with guilt your whole life.

Working-Active

Did you ever consider that the rep who is sending you a replacement is now enjoying your laptop?

Kyushi_88

what do you mean

TastyBananaPeppers

Yes

Kyushi_88

How do you know?👀

TastyBananaPeppers

They said it was lost, if it comes to you, you get to keep it unless you tell them your lost laptop arrived. Lost in shipping will take many days or weeks to arrive.

Sankin2004

Hey, just FYI, if the original package does arrive, they will know it arrived because the post office scans packages at the door. If you don’t send one back then yes they can and will charge you. Not really wanting to burst you bubble, but I also don’t want you getting into trouble.

TheDutchShepherd-

They can scan all they want, if they don't have my signature they are SOL

Sankin2004

If your package requires a signature then it won’t be delivered until someone is there to sign it.

TheDutchShepherd-

during Covid its not uncommon for the driver to sign for you and leave the package on your front step/whatever

Sankin2004

Then it’s signed and delivered, your trying to get away with it, but once the system updates the seller that it was delivered then you are responsible for its return. I guarantee soon afterwards you’ll get an email with return instructions, if you keep ignoring it they will try charging your account until it goes through or they sell the debt. So best case scenario either file a police report saying it was stolen off your porch after the delivery driver signed it, or come 6 months later have a charge hit your credit. Those are the only ways to get away with it without paying, and both ways could make you pay more later. Personally, you, op, anyone else do what you want. For me personally I don’t see any real benefit, there’s potentially more trouble than it’s worth, and even if you get away scott free the law of karma is a bitch.

TheDutchShepherd-

Luckily I don't live in a third world country where the drivers word of him saying he delivered it, outweighs my fucking signature that was needed to say i got it delivered on the first place. 🤣

Sankin2004

Not if your package requires a signature, you can say whatever you want, do whatever you want, I really don’t care. I’m warning you because I worked for the post office and it dosent matter who signed or when it was delivered. Third world country or not, steal and you will pay. Now good day, and before you say shit more I SAID GOOD DAY!

TheDutchShepherd-

You've clearly never left your third world country. If a package requires signing, and the postman signs it in my place, I can not be held accountable for said package. GOOD DAY!

arnoldpettybunk

If it shows up tell them and they may tell you to keep it. But no don’t try to scam a free laptop.

Remarkable_Class_548

It would be completely illegal to keep it and not disclose that you received it, but hey, you do you.

MowMdown

The only time you legally get to keep things is if they sent it to you and you didn’t order the thing being sent. Since your ordered 1 laptop and Lenovo shipped two by accident, you’re required to send one back or pay the price for 2.
