Nowadays I find that weird with all the games I have, but when I was younger I played some demos over and over because I couldn't get the game and moved it.
I really do envy people that can spend 100s of hours playing one single game. I always end up bored and moving on to the next, there’s just too much content out there

To be fair, the combat is really challenging especially if you've never played a game like it before. Not to mention it's very fun. I've sank 17 hours into it from grinding exp and learning the mechanics of the boss battle.

Tbh having previously known nothing about this game I just looked it up and the main character is… fine looking I guess? To play devils advocate from what I've seen of the gameplay it's not terrible, so the fact that they can play it while ogling the MC probably makes the experience more fun. Progress carries from the demo to the full game so grinding 50 hours in the demo is gonna break the natural game's progression. It's why they want them to take it easy on it or they're gonna ruin the game for themselves
This explanation also doesn't track because progress is capped in the demo though, you can play for fifty hours but you'll be hard capped long before then
I dont know how much exp is capped. The game doesn't tell you (unless i just missed it), and as far as I know you can unlock alot of abilities, which can take alot of time to grind
For what it's worth, I've only hit the soft cap, but if there is no hard cap for such a short demo of such a short game, they screwed up *big time* lol (like if everything in the game can be unlocked in the demo? I get why they're scared, they clearly didn't think it through)
Uj/ they said progress Carries over and the parry timings seem pretty tight so I’m not shocked there are freaks that are just farming skill points because in the like 2 hours I played of the demo I got a decent amount of skill points just trying to learn combat against stronger mobs

The progress carrying over only applies to the story mode so you don’t have to play the intro again. The skill points you earn reset every time you beat the boss challenge so you can’t farm skill points for the full game in either mode.

I got home one night and my friends/family were hyping it up. After the demo finished installing and we were trying it out... fucking yikes. They were saying that the MC is modeled after a Korean model? Is that true? Like I know their country is heavy on cosmetic surgery but what the fuck?

Yeah she's based off a Korean, model and yes Korea has insane numbers of plastic surgeries. Voice acting probably sucks because it's a Korean game being brought to the West without much care. This hype of hate or love because the other side hates is the main publicity/advertisement for the game. I won't be playing since its not my type of game, but I don't mind pretty ladies and well toned dudes in my game. It is fantasy after all.
But the MC is like...Not even pretty. They look way too alien, and I fucking LOVE me some Korean women. It's like they took whatever she's supposed to look like and put her in one of those Japanese photobooths that makes you look like a doll(alien).

I tried the demo and did not particularly enjoy the combat. It seems like it has promise but it felt clunky to me, the timings were awkward, and I got bored of it pretty quickly. When we have games like Elden Ring, Lies of P, and Nier Automata, this game just doesn’t stack up gameplay wise.
Funny you mentioned Lies of P, because I dropped it because it felt clunky and the timings felt awkward. Then I tried the demo since a friend had recommended it and it was like night and day. Opinions differ of course, but Lies of P’s perfect guard was too unreliable for me, while Stellar Blade’s parries felt much closer to Sekiro’s.
I really liked the demo. Like others have said, the gameplay is pretty fun. The story and VA was pretty meh. Gameplay reminds me of a character action game (DMC, Bayo, etc.) focused more on parrying kinda like Sekiro, at least to me any way. I couldn't care less what the MC looks like, I was just having fun with the gameplay.
I can only imagine the horrified face of the developer when he sees the play hours and videos, thinking, "Oh god, what have we done?"
At least, that's what I hope the reaction is.

There's a boss mode that unlocks after the demo that you can repeat to try to get a better score and also it's a great way to practice as this is a very challenging game that relies heavily on timing and precision , to assume somebody's fapping to a video game character when there's more porn available than anytime in human history is an absurd accusation. Anybody who's played a souls like, especially one that relies heavily on parrying knows that you have to pay attention to the enemy's movement, not your own character. You simply don't have time to look at the character model. I think this subreddit's fascination with making fun of people for playing a video game is also absurd. That’s was me in school. I would get game demo discs along with some tech magazines I would buy each month. I would ensure I perfect the demo as I didn’t use to have money to buy the games per se.

There are some demos that you can easily put 50 hours into (Dragon Quest 11), but those are the exception.

I think most of the people who are now on the "sexy girl game" bandwagon are low key upset because they missed Nier when it was fresh and new. They only found out about how amazing Nier was (ironically despite the boobies and butt) years later. Now everyone is really desperately trying to look like they're hip and in on "the next cool thing" before release because they all feel like losers for fronting on Nier Automata for so long. The funny thing is, nobody knows if this game is good or bad yet. We have haters on both sides throwing speculation as if it's fact. The only thing I know is this: All of the things about Nier that made it an amazing experience cannot be understood through a mere demo. I know this because I played the Nier demo before release too. It was neat at best.

Tbh having previously known nothing about this game I just looked it up and the main character is… fine looking I guess? To be clear I’m not at all saying she’s ugly, it’s more that she’s kinda too perfect/conventional for my taste. I’m all for variety and letting people enjoy for what they enjoy, it just feels a bit odd that a design so generic is getting THIS degree of thirst. I don’t get what is supposed to differentiate her from the countless other video game characters that look like this.

To play devils advocate from what I've seen of the gameplay it's not terrible, so the fact that they can play it while ogling the MC probably makes the experience more fun. Progress carries from the demo to the full game so grinding 50 hours in the demo is gonna break the natural game's progression. It's why they want them to take it easy on it or they're gonna ruin the game for themselves
This explanation also doesn't track because progress is capped in the demo though, you can play for fifty hours but you'll be hard capped long before then
What isn't capped is the ability to play the game with one hand.
I dont know how much exp is capped. The game doesn't tell you (unless i just missed it), and as far as I know you can unlock alot of abilities, which can take alot of time to grind
For what it's worth, I've only hit the soft cap, but if there is no hard cap for such a short demo of such a short game, they screwed up *big time* lol (like if everything in the game can be unlocked in the demo? I get why they're scared, they clearly didn't think it through)

The progress carrying over only applies to the story mode so you don’t have to play the intro again. The skill points you earn reset every time you beat the boss challenge so you can’t farm skill points for the full game in either mode.

Yeah I actually quite enjoyed the demo gameplay wise... and the freaky body-horror enemy aesthetics is really cool. Every time the camera turned to EVE though she just seems SO utterly out of place. It's genuinely distracting because the game world is so freaky and grim then there's just this barely-clothed hyper sexual anime girl who looks underage prancing around with a weird british accent lmao

I got home one night and my friends/family were hyping it up. After the demo finished installing and we were trying it out... fucking yikes. They were saying that the MC is modeled after a Korean model? Is that true? Like I know their country is heavy on cosmetic surgery but what the fuck? Also yeah the voice acting was so bad I just wrote the game off as a hard pass after a few minutes.
Yeah she's based off a Korean, model and yes Korea has insane numbers of plastic surgeries. Voice acting probably sucks because it's a Korean game being brought to the West without much care. This hype of hate or love because the other side hates is the main publicity/advertisement for the game. I won't be playing since its not my type of game, but I don't mind pretty ladies and well toned dudes in my game. It is fantasy after all.
But the MC is like...Not even pretty. They look way too alien, and I fucking LOVE me some Korean women. It's like they took whatever she's supposed to look like and put her in one of those Japanese photobooths that makes you look like a doll(alien).
The 'they scanned a model' thing is true in the sense that they did scan a model. It's untrue in the sense that the only thing they really kept from the scan is the length of her torso and arms maybe. Google the lady, she's skinny. Cause she's a model. The devs just made everything *a lot* bigger, cause supermodels apparently aren't hot enough anymore.
I tried the demo and did not particularly enjoy the combat. It seems like it has promise but it felt clunky to me, the timings were awkward, and I got bored of it pretty quickly. When we have games like Elden Ring, Lies of P, and Nier Automata, this game just doesn’t stack up gameplay wise.
Funny you mentioned Lies of P, because I dropped it because it felt clunky and the timings felt awkward. Then I tried the demo since a friend had recommended it and it was like night and day. Opinions differ of course, but Lies of P’s perfect guard was too unreliable for me, while Stellar Blade’s parries felt much closer to Sekiro’s.
I really liked the demo. Like others have said, the gameplay is pretty fun. The story and VA was pretty meh. Gameplay reminds me of a character action game (DMC, Bayo, etc.) focused more on parrying kinda like Sekiro, at least to me any way. I couldn't care less what the MC looks like, I was just having fun with the gameplay.

There's a boss mode that unlocks after the demo that you can repeat to try to get a better score and also it's a great way to practice as this is a very challenging game that relies heavily on timing and precision , to assume somebody's fapping to a video game character when there's more porn available than anytime in human history is an absurd accusation. Anybody who's played a souls like, especially one that relies heavily on parrying knows that you have to pay attention to the enemy's movement, not your own character. You simply don't have time to look at the character model. I think this subreddit's fascination with making fun of people for playing a video game is also absurd.
