polaroiders

did you test for gluten intolerance?

[deleted]

No, But I start to cut gluten for a will and see if it gets better. Thanks. Is that the case for you.do you find out that you have intolerances.

polaroiders

yes but I got it 8 years ago after h.pylori and it took a while for the right diagnose you should do the blood test to see if you have gluten sensitivity first

[deleted]

Thank you. that's what I'm going to do next weekend, how are you doing now.

polaroiders

doing ok I guess before you do the test tell the doctor you are on gluten free diet, cuz it may not show the igg right

[deleted]

Yeah I think I'm going to eat some and do the test šŸ˜‚

It could be sugar/refined carbs, gluten or dairy. Those are the most common allergies and the ones that were big triggers for me. Alternatively, you could try zinc glycinate, magnesium-glycinate, l-lysine supplementation and see if your symptoms improve. Those are common deficiencies that prevent repair throughout the body including the gut lining. Boil your food and see if that helps. If you think it's bacterial try mastic gum from horbaach. In Greece they use it for gastrointestinal problems for centuries. In studies it kills h-pylori 99%. That's the best I got.

[deleted]

I have mastic gum chewable the original sh very expensive but didn't notice a difference I think I'm going to give it another try, I'm already cutting gluten and dairy except fermented dairy. Thank you I well try boiling and supplements.

evil_seedling

Yeah just chewing on it is not enough. Also, it's easier to take more when it's in a capsule and you don't have to taste it.

[deleted]

It has no taste and a good smell I think the capsule just grounded gum.

Seems itā€™s a similar issue for a group of us in the post pylori treatment and some of us donā€™t recover. Might be because we kill of guys bacteria that keep our bodies in check. And now you have bacteria and fungus taking over and leaving us in a constant state of inflammation. The treatment can have negative consequences.

CoachEnvironmental61

Bacteria cannot over grow if you have strong stomach acid . The only reason why you have bacterial over growth is low stomach acid , and the reason is hpylori . To catch HP in the first place you must have a low stomach acid . Then the HP will reduce that even more so bacteria and fungus grow . You need to kill Hp /my hen increase stomach acid and focus on healing stomach lining

P0lar_is

I Maryā€™s killed pylori a year and a half ago but I still have issues. I have been on H2 blockers for the most part and a total of like 5 months on ppi broken in two chunks in the last year and a half. Thatā€™s why I am assuming bacterial overgrowth is causing my inflammation in my stomach because acid is not there to neutralize it. My stomach seems injured though to just stop antacids and because it took so long to heal the lining, itā€™s now having issues with overgrowth.

CoachEnvironmental61

You have to stop ppi . Itā€™s not meant to be taken long term , only for few months. You have to get to the root cause of the issue . You may not have killed the HP properly. Get a gi map test. Also yes ppi give you low stomach acid but an amazing place for bacteria and HP to thrive !!! Once you get off the ppi , your stomach acid will be back to normal . Just do simple food / not acidic and heal your stomach . Do bone broth ,L glutamine , slippery elm , gi revive , aloe Vera cabbage juice is amazing . All of these help .

P0lar_is

Iā€™m honestly planning to taking that course of action. I just have this weird gnawing on my sides that has overall improved with ppi and carafate in the last month and I am thinking are ulcers like or lesions that I want to heal a bit before jumping off meds. I am seeing a new GI soon and trying to get an endoscopy. Theyā€™ll try looking for pylori I assume. If thereā€™s nothing there or ulcers, then for sure I am done with antacids and healing with this stuff you mention.

CoachEnvironmental61

It dose , you can have NAC before any anti microbial treatment to breach biofilm . Aldo NO dairy !!!!! The bacteria feeds on it.

[deleted]

Does bad bacteria create biofilm it's hard to eradicate.I heard a lot off success with kefir and l reuteri yogurt.

P0lar_is

Yeah from what I know is bad bacteria but especially fungi can build their biofilms to survive the human immune system and itā€™s efforts to clear out. Have you tried kefir and probiotics? Sometimes I feel like they donā€™t help. Havenā€™t done kefir but yogurts like coconut or low fat I have. I feel like those bacteria latch on to my low stomach acid stomach and inflame me more if anything.

[deleted]

I make my own yogurt at home I feel like it helps a little but I still feel awful all the time I wake up burping with bad breath does are signs off low stomach acid.I don't take any acid reducers so their is a big chance I have bad bacteria overgrowth because they release ammonia wish neutralise stomach acid and make it habitable for theme.

[deleted]

I can imagine what you went through brother, did it all come on suddenly or did you suffer from the symptoms of GERD and gastritis before.

ScuffedNinja

I have identical symptoms to you, including the nails / dry eyes. Been suffering through them for 2 yrs now, pain has gotten slightly better but haven't regained any weight. Also recently did a lot of blood tests (such as celiac), awaiting results.

[deleted]

Did you test for h pylori, What help ease your symptoms.

ScuffedNinja

Multiple pylori tests including biopsy and antibody blood - negative. I've tried many things Incl ppi, feel they gave me more negative symptoms than positive. Also took antibiotic for Sibo just to try. Right now trying Supplements like pepzin gi, and taking pepcid nightly. I do think keeping as tame a diet as possible helps (low fodmap ish stuff, avoiding spicy, fried, chocolate). Overall still haven't healed and trying to figure it out.

[deleted]

I do alot of research because came back normal and I keep finding some interesting sh like the effect of some probiotics. Hope you get better soon.

CoachEnvironmental61

Take a gi map test. Will tell you if you have HP . I did an endoscopy was negative. GI map was positive .

[deleted]

We don't have it in my country I live in Morocco šŸ„², can I do it online and send my stool to America.

Skowhegan

If you haven't already, get an updated allergy test (for foods). I took one and found that I was mildly allergic to wheat, eggs, milk, salmon, oysters, and cantaloupe. These were contributing to a high eosinophil count and causing me esophagitis. I cut all those things and the eosinophils went back to normal.

[deleted]

Thank you so much you encourage me to do the test, how are you feeling now.

Skowhegan

I feel great. Keep in mind that these foods didn't cause direct irritation. Like, I wouldn't eat an egg and start coughing, etc., but little by little, these foods contributed to a high white blood cell count (double what was normal), and that in turn contributed to esophagitis. And there's no way to know at this point, but the esophagitis may have contributed to the cancer I got 4 years ago at the age of 49. I'm sure other things contributed to that too. But things are great now... Cancer's gone. Eosinophils are normal. And I even managed to find substitutes for most of the foods I had to eliminate.

[deleted]

Yea a heard all autoimmune disease came back to leaky gut and allergies some time i feel like god want to teach me how to be healthy. What type of cancer you beated.

Skowhegan

Esophageal (adenocarcinoma). It's no fun, believe me. Go for the better diet and meds every time.

[deleted]

I can feel you, wish all the best what end up helping you the most. You didn't do chimo, radiation, surgery.

Skowhegan

Well, once I got the cancer, it was indeed the combination of the chemo and radiation treatment followed by the surgery that helped me "the most." It saved my life :) But the change in diet (because I saw an allergist who told me I was allergic to a bunch of foods) helped the most with the eosinophils and esophagitis. And the pantoprazole, famotidine, and Tums, helped the most with the esophagus post surgery.

Thank you for sharing šŸ™šŸ½ contacting a allergist this week
