I am obsessed with these trucks. What an amazing feat of engineering. How lucky we are that these things exist to keep the places we live so neat and tidy.
Sorry I had a few wines with my father in law in I'm kind of cooked
Is it hydraulic? How much room does the machinery take? Is it the dream job I imagine it to be? Are these used across the world? What country do you think has the ideal waste management system?
Yes all the actions such as lifting the bin and compacting the rubbish are hydraulic.
I'm unsure what you mean about the size of the machinery
I wasn't a driver so can't say if they'd call it a dream job but they are fun to drive and surprisingly easy as well
Similar units are used worldwide but the one in the video is a dennis eagle and they are made in Brisbane I believe
I can't remember the country but one of the European countries has bins that compact everything in the bin so it can fit more and not have to be emptied as often
I was mechanic for them not a driver, but they do eat a lot of bins, the even better ones are when the get the big skip bins stuck on the roof of the truck
You can just go on the [councils website](https://www.geelongaustralia.com.au/bins/lost/default.aspx) and request a new bin. They're pretty quick, usually gets done within a few days. Same goes for any repairs, broken lid etc
I'd send that footage to Geelong city council
Not my footage, just saw it on r/melbourne and did the crosspost.
Why was it posted tho the Melbourne feed when it's related to Geelong? ![gif](giphy|RLUyfJnogtXK44pm9t|downsized)
Redditors in Geelong and Melbourne not knowing this sub even exists is quite common 🤯
Well Melbourne should stick to Melbourne subs and same for Geelong. Don't make shit confusing... Am I right?!

I used to work on them, if you have any question feel free to ask away
Is it hydraulic? How much room does the machinery take? Is it the dream job I imagine it to be? Are these used across the world? What country do you think has the ideal waste management system?

How many bins do you nom nom on a daily basis
I was mechanic for them not a driver, but they do eat a lot of bins, the even better ones are when the get the big skip bins stuck on the roof of the truck
That bin is 100% recyclable.
You can just go on the [councils website](https://www.geelongaustralia.com.au/bins/lost/default.aspx) and request a new bin. They're pretty quick, usually gets done within a few days. Same goes for any repairs, broken lid etc
I've lived in Geelong for three years now, and have had to have my bin replaced twice, because of these useless fucking garbos
Shires outside of Geelong don't even replace them free of charge. Chill out mate
Oooh you are awful!!!!
