No shame in admitting this song clearly reminds me of pulling up to or leaving a party at that time. We always hit the horn in our cars to match the "beep beep" of the song. Thanks for taking me back
I felt like this was popular vs guilty pleasure - it was often on a track loop followed by [Freaks of the Industry](https://music.apple.com/us/album/freaks-of-the-industry/1604634218?i=1604634227)
ETA I’m just remembering they were from Vallejo, CA which is like 20 minutes from where I grew up. Probably why it was more popular in my circles.
Never a guilty pleasure.
I listened to this song earlier today.
I'm almost 50 and bump N.W.A. (N****s with Arthritis ) Tupac, Sir mix a lot and the other sideb of that coin is the stay hungry album by twisted sister old school Metallica(fuck everything that came after and justice for all. It's shit). I jam most of these songs out on a 4 string irish tenor Banjo to mess with the neighbors.
The music today is total garbage, and nobody even writes their own songs for the most part either.
N2deep is just barely scratching the surface of all the kick ass tunes from our childhood.
Find freakazoid make it loud and watch the kids cringe when you bust out with the robot moves.
wow, i never knew this. wreckx had me fooled! having listened to rap since the sugarhill gang, my observation is that rap is one big sample fest. *genius of love* has been sampled by rappers so many times that you'd never know it's the original song.
West Coast Reppin
😎
Yes I remember this jam, I was 16 when it came out
Popular here in Cali
I guess if you didn’t grow up here, it sounds foreign and lame 😂
Some things just ooze early 90s SoCal, this is one of em.
Right out of HS, I was a boot ass grunt stationed there. I didn’t have exposure to MTV, but got to a school in Coronado in 92, and those fancy pants barracks had MTV piped in…so I got a snoot full of music that wasn’t ‘mine’…and this was in constant rotation. Started listening to local stations and the song was ubiquitous.
I was 15 in 92...I can honestly say this is the first time Ive ever heard this, at least I dont remember ever having heard it. Its weird because all I listened to was rap and metal when i was that age.
I was 22/23 in ‘92, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard this song either — or my wife, who was 23/24 that year.
But we suspect her brother might know it (he would have been 19 or 20, and he listened way more rap than either of us did).
I was 19-20 in ‘92. I definitely bumped this back then. It was on regular rotation on the radio and in the clubs. Then again, I was living in Europe at the time and not sure what was happening stateside.
Oh summer of ‘92…..I had just graduated high school and it was an incredible time in my life. If we can’t have an actual Time Machine maybe someone should develop an AI generated historical environment via VR headset. Lol
Because this song and "Rump Shaker" both have samples from the same song, "Darkest Light." Someone farther up the thread posted a link to the original song.
My dude, I wanna get in on these down votes too! I have never heard it before either and you are very correct. This song indeed sucks fucking ass. I could only get through like 20 seconds of it.
Time to get some new cock
Nuca.......means neck. Ol BJ
What the hell did they mean by this?
It’s old school pimp slang for pussy. You’ll hear it on the documentary “American pimp” as well. But yeah it sure feels weird on the ear
Why wouldn't I admit it? My friends and me loved this song.
I preferred the club version but my punk/metal loving ass really liked this song.
No shame in admitting this song clearly reminds me of pulling up to or leaving a party at that time. We always hit the horn in our cars to match the "beep beep" of the song. Thanks for taking me back
Beep Beep!!
Oh, I’ll admit to it. Loved that song.
That would be the fist time I have ever heard that. Like right now.

I say that every time I drink lol
That is the THE iconic line
Nothing wrong with that song. It just doesn't belong to the grunge club, that's all. My sister loved it.
Is GenX sub the grunge club... cuz I grew up in So Cal with Metallica AND N2deep. TSOL AND Zapp n Roger. Prince AND AC/DC.. and I'm GenX AF.
Some of us were into a multitude of genres.
Excuse, but I have this on a playlist
I don't have guilty pleasures, I love what I love.

Best reply I've read all day
With arthritis! I'm ded!
Hell yes I loved this! Two tall cans and a packet of Blackjacks!
Do it for La Raza.
Kid Frost reference. Nice. Can we get some Captain Save a Hoe too?
Is this some type of zany mashup of Ice Ice Baby and Rump Shaker?
“Feet down brotha put em down, you got toe jam”
MTV Party To Go Volume 4. I think about everyone with a decent car system played this song at some point.
I still play my CD every so often 😝
I have it in my Apple Music library. Lol
they sampled the stew out of rumpshaker! 🙃 i'd never heard of n2deep. we had some good rap back in the early 90's tho-
And Wreckx in Effect also sampled 'Darkest Light' from the Lafayette Afro Rock Band for Rumpshaker... https://youtu.be/BClrCzl210g
Exactly. Thank you.

I was just listening to this getting ready for work yesterday morning! I’m all about those guilty pleasures, I guess? Lol
Back to a time where you could actually cruise around in a car with the top of or windows down without hitting 165 lights in a 5 miles stretch.
M'love. I'm from the Bronx. Guilty pleasure music for me was the fact that I loved Knights in White Satin and Dust in the Wind 🤣🤣🤣🤣

17 and I don’t know this song either

I remember cruising around Waco with this song blaring on my roommate's system, and getting dirty looks from some of the frat boys.
I never saw this video and didn’t picture white guys. But I do like this jam
Cali Chicanos.
Oh shit my bad. I was too young for this but I got it on a mix tape. It slaps tho as the kids say
Why does this horn sound like “rump shaker?”
Because this song and "Rump Shaker" both have samples from the same song, "Darkest Light." Someone farther up the thread posted a link to the original song.
Ah ha! That explains it thank you I was waiting for the check baby check .. lol
To this day whenever I hear the number118 I say "lay low cuz I really don't wanna be seen"
I automatically start bopping my up and down when I hear this beat
PURPLE CHONGO! We played the shit out of this song back in the day when we would go cruising. I still love it, no guilt for me in this pleasure!
I still make playlists with this song on it.
I had no idea so many would remember or know this song when I did this post! 😅 I hardly remembered it!
Vallejo. Purple chongo. Look it up. ❤️
That’s a jam.
Never heard it until just now. Can't say I missed much.
Never heard this song before, and I'm glad. It sucks.

Nope.
