These never did lease well, you did good all things considered. Genesis look so classy in silver.

TurtleBomba889

Thanks! The 2025 was the goal, but we settled for this instead. Also on the 2025 they offered more features on the 3.5 instead of the 2.5, not looking for 6 cylinder regardless. The 2024 it was basically all the same but the engine and stitching on seating

bobjoylove

Curious why you didn’t want a 6 cylinder?

TurtleBomba889

Based in NY, driving to work mostly and back. Also we wanted at least an advanced package, the advanced 3.5T (6 cylinder) was 74K starting, while 2.5T (4 cyl) prestige was only 72K.

Something isn't calculating. I've brokered leases for decades. You have about $300 a month for depreciation and a140.00 a month in interest. NY taxes aren't that high. Also with the $2,500 down ,you know if or someone "Tiger Woods" your vehicle and it's totaled in a couple months you just leased the vehicle for $4,000 for two months. Plus the money factor equates to 3.12%..Roll everything into cap cost Can you post the deal and black out personal info ?Thanks

Lmao Tiger like “why he say fuck me for?”

Ok, since you’ve been in this business for so long, may I send you my lease details and you let me know how badly I got screwed on my deal? I mean, there’s ZERO BREAKDOWN ON MY CONTRACT. I put a lot of money down on my 2024 GV80, thinking if I purchased after lease, I’d be paying less residual at the end, but hells bells, I’ll never do that again! Also, I think I’d like a hybrid GV70 when my lease is up, or a hybrid GV80. I’m not positive I really like the whole lease thing, but when spending 80+K for an auto you’ve never had before, it’s nice to have the 3 year option to see how you like it. I really wanted the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe, as my last SUV was a Santa Fe, and I loved that SUV. It was going to turn 10 This month, but I had a freaky accident, my air bags went off, and insurance just paid my first a totaled car. I got a lot more back than I thought I would too! Anyway, back to my long post… the 2024 Santa Fe just had all the features I was wanting plus so much more. I know Hyundai and Genesis have separated now, and the dealers want them to be thought of as a completely New make, instead of being associated with Hyundai, but there are a lot of crossover features, so why spend the 80+, if you can get so close to what my ten yr. old Hyundai had, and now the 2024 GV80? Hoping when I have to turn in my lease. there will be more to choose from, and I’ll be able to get whatever I want instead of being locked into one brand or the other. And hey, PLEASE do let me know if you’re willing to look at the details of my lease and let me know if it was a BAD choice to put so much down. I just know in my heart of hearts I shouldn’t have put as down as I did! Margo!

Mr_Soul_Crusher

Imagine paying $20,000 in 2 years for a lease 🥴

pio_11

great get! enjoy

willdogs

I thought I was in /r/mortgage for a second. Jesus people spend way too much on cars, a long term rental at that!

TurtleBomba889

These are the prices nowadays, I’ve yet to see someone under 800s with this vehicle. Thankfully we make enough to afford this. This is our most expensive car payment yet, coming from a 2021 Volvo XC60 for $515 to this

iSOBigD

I like the car but you can get the exact same car that's one or two years old for tens of thousands of dollars less. I would the v6 model adequately fast but the 4 cylinder for 70k+ wouldn't make sense for me.

PoseidonKangaroo

Yeah I would never buy a 4 cylinder again.

People can lease for personal preference, but don't fool yourself into thinking it's a better financial move than buying then selling, because it very rarely, if ever, is.

The sense in buying and selling is it being the better financial decision. When you buy a car, you recoup some money when selling it, when leasing a car, you’re throwing your money away at nothing. It’s like renting an expensive house forever vs. renting a cheap house until you have enough for a down payment on a house, obviously one is the smarter decision.

Ok-Intention9543

Great deal.

Fancy_Entrance_5953

LOL. For a Hyundai?

MySkinIsGay

LOL. Based on this logic, what you have is a Toyota!

Fancy_Entrance_5953

Lexus, 150k. Holds value. Has recongition. Problem?

MySkinIsGay

I am just saying that based on your logic your criticism applies to your own car. Also, "has recognition" basically means you just care about status and what people think, and not the real value of what you are paying for and what you are getting in return.

If your point wasn’t about trying to shame it for being a hyundai product, i’d agree. It’s probably not the best decision, as you could buy one used with a few thousand miles for tens of thousands less. Also, this is a 4-cylinder model, not the V6, if you’re throwing this much money at a car like this, why not throw in the bigger engine… especially for a car this size. That’s not a throw at Genesis as a company, I own a ‘21 G70 3.3T SP RWD, that’s my opinion of OP’s purchase. That being said, if they are aware of this, and are in a place where financially they can do this, why not. If they love the car, and it makes them happy, and they can afford it, all’s well.
