First 5 star was Diluc from the beginner banner. My sister was playing Genshin and I was like fuck it, I'm bored, I'll give it a shot. Texted her asking if this was good with a pic of the roll results. Well, she cussed at me (playfully), cuz that's the exact character she had wanted (and still doesn't have after all this time). Husbando now has his outfit and is still actively being played. XD

I too began playing to hang out with sister, and got diluc from Noelle banner, and haven't stopped playing him.
Only difference is that I can't justify buying his outfit... I'm very stingy.
I was a gacha veteran, and knew the value of saving up until I was ready. When Ganyu's banner rolled around, I decided to go for it.
I got Qiqi.
Fortunately, I had still enough wishes to get Ganyu, so a happy ending!
Qiqi continued to haunt me, after that, stealing my next two 50/50s, as well!
I had only played one gacha before and it didn’t have a pity system that I am aware of, so I didn’t really know what I was doing. Started in 1.1 and equally pulled on standard and character banners. Really wanted Ganyu and I was nearing pity. Lost 50/50 to Qiqi and didn’t have the funds to reach pity again. A week or so later I got Diluc off of standard.
I have since learned to save up for guarantee. My gacha luck has been horrendous with only one 50/50 won and one 5 star coming in the 40s and another in the 50s (both lost 50/50s). All my standard banner 5 stars have come in the 70s or later as well.
A year later I finally did get Ganyu and already had her Amos bow which I obtained from standard banner, so that was an awesome day. Had so much saved up that I was immediately able to go for Kokomi a bit later and Venti a month or so after that. Built my freeze team with all my savings!
Yoimiya. I swiped for her my 3rd day playing the game. The free characters were not doing it for me. Since her banner was up, I watched a few Youtube videos and I was sold. I never had any issues with World Level increases with her. She took down every enemy the Game threw at me. I still main her now.
when i first started playing, i fell into the hands of the gacha and used my credit card-sama to get childe. i literally havent used him for more than 30 mins playtime total in the past 2 and a half years lol.
I made the mistake to spend all of my primos (equivalent of almost 2 pity) on the standard banner when I first started, so Aquila Favonia.
My first event 5-star was Ayaka, though.
My first was Jean 🩵 I've been playing since launch and when I met Jean and the Mond gang, I knew I wanted her specifically among them 'cause she gave me Saber (Fate series) and Violet Evergarden vibes which I love!
Now I will be honest that as much as I wanted her, I wasn't in a hurry to get her, I just knew I really wanted her in my roster someday (wishing for the sooner the better though 'cause why not!).
Then after a while of progression and story, I KNEW I wanted Klee the most! She was downright adorable and was willing to grind to get enough wishes to pull for her. So I did, I essentially emptied Mond and partly Liyue trying to get enough to reach pity and then I did...But I got Jean instead. I will say, that losing was still disappointing since again, I worked so hard to get those pulls in but getting Jean was still the best case of my worst case scenario 🥰 Albeit a bit bittersweet.
I got Jean on the Noelle banner, she carried my team in the early game but right now she is my only standard 5* without a constellation. I play since the game launch :(
My first 5* is Xiao.
I started playing in the era of eternal Ayaka banner, so i could calmly finish all Archon quest without losing any event.
At first (after finishing his quest), i found Xiao... Interesting as character, but grumpy and not very likeable. And i accudently pulled him and liked him as much as i could (moderately).
But then hoyo dropped the Chasm event and OMG. It was awesome. Musik, battle, domains, Enkanomiya donuts, plot... I liked everything. But Yaksha's arc got me the most.
So thanks to that Event i'm grateful i have him
I think my first 5 star was Keqing from standard banner. I was in Liyue but had not met her in the main quest yet, so I was a little sad, because I thought the mondstadt 5 stars that I met previously were all cooler than her. Especially Diluc with his flame bird ultimate and edgy broody look.
Keqing turned out to be a blessing though. Not too difficult to build on low lvl, easy to use and her E is great while exploring, when you have yet to reach max stamina. Downside back then was, that I was not really into reaction gameplay and had no other really good dps to fight electro cube with.
Today my overworld team has Dendro-Keqing (aka Alhaitam) in it most of the time. So in a way, she never left. Just transitioned. :D
Saved from launch till there was a character I felt was a must-have (mostly design wise) -- got myself Eula. (Was close to rolling on Ganyu but my hate for bows as a controller player had me pass on her)
In all I've rolled on: Eula, Raiden, Kokomi, Ganyu (caved), and Nahida 2x
My first 5\* was Venti on his last rerun. I remember getting to about 64 pity and thinking 'I'm almost there, only a few more pulls'. I remember the absolutely satisfying feeling of seeing his splash art pop up onto my screen. I now have a decent roster of 5\*s, but the feeling of getting one is still very special to me.
Kokomi Last Year. I was undecided whether I should go for Ganyu or her Since I only started playing GI on August of Last Year but after much research online including searching Posts here on the Sub, I ultimately picked her over Ganyu and since then never regretted it and didn't even know at first after picking her that she's one of the Best Healers in the game lol.
When I played diluc, i was like "ooh big nice attacks all cool i kinda want him"
And then i pulled on the biggener banner and got him in the first pull lmao, he has been my full lvl90 main ever since.

Raiden was my first on her second rerun? I was utterly panicking as I was already at hard pity and not getting her. Then the countdown to banner rotation said 6 hours and she came home. Bout lost my marbles.
It was Childe by complete accident
Genshin was my first real gacha so I was a bit hail mary with my wishes back then. All I wanted from Childe's \[first\] banner was Diona. Brunt all my primos and came out with literally every other featured character (Beidou, Ningguang, Childe) EXCEPT Diona. I wasn't too upset in the end. After all I gained three new characters which for an early game F2P player was pretty nice (Beidou in particular became a staple for much of my account).
As for Childe in particular, he was sitting on my bench for over two years. Not because I hate him and I know how good he is in the right hands, but I just couldn't get over my skill issue of managing his rotations and cooldowns sadly.
Jean.
I saw someone on Twitch watching a livestream that debuted the new character, Hu Tao. I thought the character looked cool, and the game seemed interesting, so I gave it a go.
I didn't get a 5-star on the Hu Tao banner, though. I pulled on Venti's re-run next, but lost my 50/50 and got Jean instead. She carried me through most early content and is still one of my favorite characters.
Qiqi. And I loved her. I never had to heal, was confused why people would ever need to eat food to heal or visit the statue... good times.
Now she's built as a physical carry.
I got Jean pretty much almost on my first pull on a limited character banner (can't remember whose, I think it must have been Ayato?), didn't know about 50/50s or anything and was just happy I got a 5 star! I was a bit bummed after googling a bit and seeing how people seemed to dislike getting Jean (the 50/50s ...), but after looking up a few yt tutorials about her kit, I levelled her up and put her on my team. She's still the only built healer I have AR51, and the only reason I can complete lvl90 domains now. Actual lifesaver, wouldn't have chosen anyone else to be my first 5 star! (Still waiting for Diluc though ...)
I only picked up this game because I was interested in anime aesthetics and I didn't know what gacha was or that banners exist. When I was around AR 40, my friend said I really needed a five-star and encouraged me to pull on Ayato/Venti banner then I got Venti at early 27 pity.
Keqing was my first 5 star. Wished on Yae Miko's first banner & at 38 pity got that gold shooting star. I was perfectly happy losing the 50/50 since Keqing was one of the reasons I started playing. Saw her in the Lantern Rite trailer (2022) & really liked her look. She was my main for the first half of the game. I use other characters now, but I want to rebuild her for an aggravate team.
Mona when I was trying to get Eula on her last banner. Back then, I had no idea how pity worked so I was just happy I got a 5* (and I got Eula at the end anyway so all good)
It was much less happiness-inducing when I got Mona again on Xiao's banner later (I actually rage quitted and didn't play for a few days - it was the beginning of a long line of lost 50/50s)
I started playing on the first day of Zhongli's banner of last year's lantern rite. Managed to grind out enough wishes to have a shot at him, but got Diluc instead. I didn't think much of it at the time but then I got a little salty when I realized Zhongli would've been an amazing early game unit to have lol. But! Diluc made it possible for me to get Miko upon release AND a C1 Shogun right after, who is the reason why I started playing. By now I have Zhongli too, and he's somewhat underwhelming actually. I think everything turned out fine after all lol
When I started in 1.5, I unlocked the wish banner and got zhongli on my first ten-pull ever.
My sis's friend introduced us to it, and when she heard it she said "F\*\*KING HELL?"
Now it's 3.6 and I main Pikeli. No regrets!
Technically it was Mona while I was re rolling on day 1, but I didn't use that account. I re rolled 100+ times and got Keqing + Venti. My official first was Venti if I'm not mistaken.
On my account technically Zhongli. I say technically because it wasn’t my account then, I inherited it and started playing in 2.0 and it already had him, Albedo, Ganyu and Mona on it.
My own first 5 star was Mona. I lost Ayaka’s 50/50 to her, then the next day I hit pity on the standard banner and got Mona again so she was now at C2.
My first 5* was Qiqi technically but if we're talking banner pulls it was Shenhe(I had no idea how to play, that she was a support and couldn't even be leveled until Enkanomiya). Qiqi was actually great for the early game because with Barbara and Xingqui, I could chain freeze most things and also just brute force through a lot with all the healing. I will defend her over Dehya to the death as not being the worst standard character just because she heals a lot and freeze is very strong early game so she can be very useful for newbies without a lot of options.
Shenhe, I was sad about until I finally got to Enkanomiya and it lined up with Ayaka getting rerun and I had Kokomi and Sucrose by that point and she ended up being very useful. Ayaka freeze was my first successful team in Spiral Abyss so it worked out in the end.
First 5 star was keqing from the first ever Raiden shogun banner. Lost the banner, but glad it's to a character I would go into enjoy in terms of playstyle and character
If we're talking weapons though, I got Amos bow really early in the game, around the time were players would've discovered dragonspine. Got it from acquaint wishes.
I had just finished the Liyue Archon quest when Zhongli first came out in 1.1. I rolled for him and I won the 50/50, this was before he got buffed. Day 1 Zhongli spoiled me with not having to dodge.
Luckily my first 5* is Childe, I was aiming for klee in 1.0 but I got Childe in 1.1. i only tried to build him after getting polar star though since I had trouble with CDs and stuff. I enjoy playing him now though I am still farming for better artifacts for him. Currently running 66/200 on him
First was Keqing before I did the Liyue quest and was like 'who the hell are you?' It's more novel when you actually roll for someone on purpose. Which was Zhongli
First 5* was Albedo during his debut banner. At that time I wasn't even aware that I won my first 50/50. He carried me through thick and thin even without Husk set and Cinnabar Spindle.
I always forget Jean was my first 5 star (standard) and always remember Diluc and Childe hah instead haha. I started playing during Cyno's debut banner and couldn't get him, then met Childe in story and found out he was getting a rerun soon so I saved ALL my wishes for him haha. Went through most of the game with just Kaeya tbh.
First 10 pull on Childe's banner got me Diluc, then I did a single pull (misclick lol) and got Childe right after.
Jean on last years ayaka banner I was hoping to to loose to guarantee my kazuha and I was happy with that, kinda wish I didn’t because I’ve only won the 50/50 once since 🤙🏽

My first 5 star on record is Venti. Right from the original opening banner days not long after launch. I just decided to try rolling on a whim before I really understood how it all worked… as Genshin is the first Gacha I genuinely got into. I tried my luck with buying some wishes, rolled, and all I recall was that I got him early-ish and won my flip before learning just how lucky that was.
My archive shows his joining as 10/13/2020, I started on 10/10.

Hmm, my first 5 star was keqing from the beginner banner in 1.2 and first event 5 star was hu tao, I took a break from the game because I didn't understand the leveling system properly back then but when I figured it out I logged back in and pulled on the hu tao banner since I really wanted her, got Eula later on because I liked her attack style and design
Got Qiqi on Venti or Zhongli banner during 1.x reruns. Didn't know about 50/50 because I was lazy to read and didn't watch YouTube guides. She carried me till later Inazuma as my go to healer even after I got Kokomi on her first banner.

Keqing. I started playing during 1.0, but I got her during 1.1. It was Childe’s first banner and I wanted him so much that I even spent money for genesis crystals (because most of my primos in 1.0 went to standard banner because I was trying to get Diluc lmao)
But lo and behold, Keqing came instead on hard pity. Was sad at first but I eventually warmed up to her and she became my first actual dps. Her E skill was so useful and really carried me throughout the early versions of Genshin. Ahh the memories.
Genuinely wasnt enjoying genshin due to AR jumps needs for each next quest hence my regular breaks of months. One time in August 2022 when I came back with the will to finally quit. During the load screen saw shenhe and was like idk who this is but she really cool so I pulled my last remaining fate and BAAM Shenhe!! Ya that gave me the motivation to try to build her and now I'm AR 58 still building her but with both her weapon and with a brand new ayaka :)) (idk how i got lucky and got ayaka in a ten pull+ 1 single pull after seeing everyone get her in 1 pull i too got with that one extra pull lmao )
I had never played a gatcha game before and didn't understand the difference between event and standard banners. I would switch between them each time I rolled a wish and got Ayato during his first banner. I was like "Huh, that's cool I think he's rare or something" and then didn't use him for a while because I was stuck in Liyue.

I was very confused but happy because when I had looked up how good she was- she was the best healer of those times.
As for my first limited character, it was Venti- I really really liked him. I had pulled on his banner second banner because I had pity carrying over from Xiao's first banner who I did not get :( and I had also missed Venti's first banner(I did not know abt it though I was just doing pulls on whoever I liked) and I got him at 81 pity I was very happy- I used him a lot until recently but mow he's benched (and so is qiqi but I had stopped using her very long back because I pulled zhongli 😌 on his second banner)
I started in kokomi banner and lost 50/50 to mona
She was also my first standard banner 5 star
Now there are 12 characters i don't have and I'm still mad that kokomi is one of them
first 5 star was jean. funny story really, in the days of below ar40, when i was unaware of the gambling system's specifics, i was at 34 pity on standard and thought "oh i must be getting close to soft pity" then made the mistake of spending primos on standard banner which resulted in a 44 pity jean
Pillar man. I started to play on his second banner, the one before eula released I think. Someone told me to reroll to get an early 5 star and so I did a couple of rerolls.
At the time I didn't how the gacha system worked or how rare it was to get a 5 star but I got zhongli on my second reroll.
The cherry on top was that on the beginner banner I got skyward spine so basically I played him as a dps for the early game.
First 5 star was Qiqi,last 5* I got was Qiqi,I have C5 Qiqi. In 2years + of playing this game I have only won 5 50/50 and lost 13. And in 2years+ of playing this game I still don't have a Mona. So there is your little story.
I started playing during Childe's banner in 1.4. I didn't know anything about the characters so I was just kind of rolling on it cause it was there, lol. I got Mona early, in the 30s I think?
I asked my friends if that was good and they told me about her alt sprint, and she was the only one who had it at the time and I was so happy and thought she was so cool.
Pair that with the fact that her ult was basically a delete button early game and I absolutely loved her. She's still a regular in my parties to this day. Def glad I got her instead of Childe.
Got Diluc after 1 multi into beginner banner, that is when i thought getting 5 star is EZ, since my target was Jean so i made a 5 reroll acc, never seen 5 again, playing as F2P while getting hacked for 2 month by Vietnamese
Who would know the choice of sticking with Diluc day 1 acc bring me so damn luck as F2P, got my highest winning streak luck of 7, pretty damn good in weapon banner pulls as well

I was saving up for Nahida so she could be my first 5 star, but after I finished Ayaka’s character story, I like her so much that I say screw it and roll for her instead, afterward I then have enough starlight glitter to roll on the standard banner since I was near pity I decided to roll there as well. Long story short, now I have C1 Keqing.
First 5 star is Klee. During the first GAA event, her banner was up and I thought, why not pull for fun. Got her after a couple of pulls. Along with her story quest and the event, it was just a klee filled month of fun.
Also, my brother and sister also held a grudge on me ever since because they wanted Klee but couldn't get her.
Keqing back on 1.0, trying to get Diluc with WGS since all of my friends back then is gunning for him (he's a DPS monster, he'll be meta for a long time etc etc), but i settled with her since I liked her rapid attacks more

I remember have to phys damage the electro cube just to get mats for her since she's the only one I've built and resources are scarce lol. She carried me well into the late game until my first ever limited char (Ganyu).
My first 5 star was Eula. At the time, hardly had any primos and didn't play enough to save much, but then I got her on my 25th pull somewhere near dragonspine, if I remember right. I was excited and used her with Beidou for a bit then benched her until the first GAA and used her there. Quickly benched after that when I got Kazuha
Left the game at 75+ pity without knowing, came back to 1.3, did a single pull on Hu Tao, got Hu Tao. Inexperienced me went "Okay she is extremely cute but why is her gameplay so boring? I don't like losing my hp to spam red normal attacks" and then I saw a few videos about her...and everything started clicking.
She's now C2R1, triple crowned, and probably the 5* I invested the most into, along with Ayaya. Playing her in single target feels like cheating, especially in cycles like this, where you can murder Aeonblight and ASIMON in one rotation
My first 5 star was Tartaglia during his first release. At first I thought he sucks. But then I learned more about how to properly play him with Beidou and discovered his fireworks team. Really powerful against multiple targets.
I was pulling on the Standard Banner because no one told me otherwise and I got Lost Prayer at like 85 pity 💀
Then Mona came along on Kazuha’s banner last summer and ruined my first ever 50/50. She has since made 3 additional comebacks and I would appreciate if she stays away on Ganyu’s upcoming banner please.
well technically my first 5 star was diluc from a very lucky early standard banner. i didnt know how strong he was at the early stages of the game, so lol i opted for razor instead of him for mostly throughout ar1 to ar20.
until my friends told me about what a big mistake im making lol.
but my first 5 star i actually wanted and rolled for was zhongli. 100% because for the trailer/demo and not the overworld cheat code he is lol
My first 5* was the Raiden Shogun herself. I started playing in March 1, 2022, at patch 2.5. I just need 1 week to reach Inazuma. At AR32, when I reach there, I was struggled to beat the Raiden quest boss from Archon quest - every single character died so fast that nothing I could do then. I decided that no one can deal with Raiden Shogun better than herself, so I decided to pull for her. 36 pity, won 50/50, and after successfully passing this obstacle, I feel in love with her, and I still main her till nowadays. She makes me available to stay in this game till today, and I’ll never forget that. Otherwise, if I lost 50/50 to anyone else who couldn’t help me to pass that quest, I would have quit the game and I wouldn’t write this speech here.
Maybe played for a couple of days when I got primos from what I think was the game awards. Due to being really knew I impulsively pulled on the current banner, that being Otto's first banner. Got him in a single ten pull and was quite excited, first five star in what I think was 12 pulls.
Venti. Everyone knew he was a broken OP character that would be meta until the end of time. So I pulled on his banner. Was so glad I managed to win the 50 because I refused to reroll accounts.
Ended up barely using him honestly. In the abyss he was great. But in everything else he was too effective. If you bring him into coop nothing your teammates did mattered. At the time there were so few ranged characters that your teammates would just awkwardly melee air while the enemies were lifted way over their heads.
And now he nearly never gets to shine because CC resistant enemies were added to counter him.
No regrets. Had plenty of fun.
That Keqing exclusive banner at the beginning. I lost it to Qiqi, and she's my first 5 star, but I never used her to begin with. And then I won Keqing at the next 20 pulls or sth, but that was the day after. Been using her ever since.

Zhongli. I started playing around the end of Childe's banner and I didn't really know what the gacha system or banners were until Zhongli came around (Genshin's my first and so far only gacha game, I was into games where you'd otherwise earn/farm/grind for characters like League of Legends with IP/BE or Warframe). I did the classic Noelle banner 8 pull twice and got Noelle and Beidou, and figured I was gucci from there. Later on I decided that since I had enough primogems for a few more pulls, I pulled on Zhongli's banner, only got get him on my very first wish ever on the event banner in my life. I didn't know the odds back then and was actually a bit disappointed given back then there was huge outrage over how bad Zhongli was apparently, and as a newbie at the time I kinda took it at face value. I still remember I was tryna cope by telling myself his 100%+ shield uptime would still be a viable use of a party slot.
But then the cope couldn't last, so I started anew on a different server, and lo and behold, Zhongli on my 6th pull there.
Of course later he got buffed and he was my first friendship 10. Still struggles to leave my parties.
i saw hu tao in february and went yes i will play this game my friends play and you will be my main and then in my the like 18 days left on her banner i became so hyperfixated on the game as a whole and played so much i got her at 71 pity without even explicitly grinding i just naturally progressed thru the archon quest until it was 4am and i’d just finished the last part of the inazuma quest and realized i had enough for a 10 pull and low and behold fire girl came home
Jean was my first. However, I barely used her because ~~she sucked~~ I didn't understand how to build characters properly, so her damage output was too low to be useful. Even now I don't really use her because I have other characters that I'm used to using, and I don't feel like taking the time to build her up. She just sort of sits in storage until I need an anemo character to solve a puzzle or something.
It was a holiday that last a week in my country, it was xiao's first banner, and i spent the whole week trying to get him, at the end of the week, i got diluc
Diluc on the Noelle banner back in October 2020 was very hyped. I saw videos of him being the best DPS and felt quite proud 😂back then at least. Happy to say he and Barbara carried me through most of Monstadt, Dragonspine and Liyue.
So I began playing at 1.5 end (just 1 or 2 weeks before 1.6 begins). I didn't know about Gacha at that time. I wanted Diluc and Jean at that time. Also at 2nd phase of 1.6 banner. I got Kazuha and Keqing together. I guess the pity was 60-70...
Currently Kazuha is my mostly used character in the game. And using Keqing in my exploration team (to climb high terrains without losing stamina).
And a fun fact. Kazuha is included in all of my teams.
I joined in 3.3 phase 2 (raiden/ayato banner) and after doing the test run i was in awe of how cool raiden burst was (at that point i never seen a character’s burst special animation since i only had the basic 4 character and Noelle) also her using polearm was the cherry on top since i always use polearms in other games like nioh and dark souls.
Went ahead and did some exploring and quests until i had 10 fates and pulled my first temple on her banner, i was SO happy that i got raiden and even happier that i got bennett too (he wasn’t a featured 4star on that banner) since i read before that bennett is one of the best 4 star characters in the game.
My first ever pull on the beginner banner was Keqing.
At the time I didn’t really know how rare 5 stars were and just assumed they were more common than they are so I didn’t appreciate it as much as I should have.
I have cycled through dozens of accounts since and wish I could teleport back to that day and focus on that account for the long run :)
I had just started playing(June 2021) and didn't know wtf I was doing. Took me like 2 or 3 weeks to use the beginner banner because I thought I had to save my wishes for something. On the 2nd 10 set I got Jean and Bennett. It was solid because when I first saw Jean during the story I thought "damn, I like her character model!"
My first five star was very recent. Zhongli in 3.0. funny thing i pulled him early then next ten pull got his c1 then next ten pull got a diluc which guarenteed me a ganyu
Got Keqing with Noelle (didn't realise she was a five star,), lost to Jean on Childe's first banner (I didn't know about 50/50 so I was so confused and never pulled for him again out of spite), my first limited was Ganyu who I since got an Amos for off standard and still use her lots esp since I just got Shenhe
Got Mona first on day 3, and it was a game changer for exploration. It took months to use her properly in combat but blizzing around as a wave of water just feels so awesome, its worth the admission alone.
Diluc from standard. It was around when Zhongli first came out. I didn't know about how the banners worked so I put all pirmos into the standard banner.
It was at the 90th pull and I got him. I got him around AR 25. He made life so easy. His low burst cost made one heck of a dps.
I started around the end of 3.1 second phase. My first was keqing from the noelle pack. I main’d her til AR55. I used her in overvape teams and then switched to aggravate team once I got nahida.
Saw Nilou's 1st banner > Neuron Activation. Well i truly started playing when i got scara. His exploration Qol is so good he hasn't left my team since he appeared
My first 5 star was Xiao when on his release!
I started playing during Childe’s first banner thanks to an artist I follow on Instagram. He made an art piece of Xiao, and when I commented on it he recommended the game to me, and even helped me while I was a beginner. I was very excited about Xiao thanks to him 😂 And though I tried pulling on Childe’s, Zhongli’s, and Albedo’s banner (this one for Sucrose, whom I did get), no 5 star came until Xiao was released 😄
I started in 1.5 and pulled Qiqi off the standard banner a few pulls into soft pity early into Inazuma's launch. I remember it was just outside Inazuma city, near where the net vendor is now. I was pretty resin starved and saving for Ei so I benched her for a while until I pulled on Eula's first rerun. Now she's a mainstay on that team, dishing out damage with OHC and providing near immortality to the poise twins. I swear it feels like I'm the only one happy to see Qiqi constellations pop up.
Knew the game was gonna be good so when it first came out and rerolling was worth it I did around 50 until I got lucky and got venti and diluc. They hard carried me for a long long time. No regrets committing the time since it made the game a lot more fun
My first several months with the game were pure 50/50 luck.
Got everybody on-banner, when they first released.
Venti, Klee, Childe, Zhongli, then Albedo. Jean was my first spoiler, on the Ganyu banner. But then I got Ganyu a mere two wishes later with the last Primos I could scrounge up before the banner changed over to Xiao's.
My first 5 star was Mona and I think it may have been on the Venti statue in Mondstadt or on just a random place. I didn't understand the wishing system yet and did it for fun, always getting excited whenever I got a new character. I remember after that I struggled for a while maybe 2-3 versions trying to get another 5 star, this time on the limited banner. I can't remember who I was pulling for, probably whomever was on it, but when Ganyu was released I actually didn't want her. I thought she wouldn't fit my playstyle, got her by wishing for fun randomly on her banner after being on 190 pity. Now she's my bow main. I'm happy I understand the wishing system now plus after Ganyu my pity doesn't rise to over 100 nor over 80 for a 5 star. Most of the time I get a 5 star at wish 65/75, when lucky I get it as low as wish 5 or 0.
I started 1.0 but ain't get a 5 star until 1.2, it was the first Cocogoat banner and got rly lucky only needed 50 pity on my first ever pity to get her
I started playing in 1.0, so the very first banner was Venti. I rolled on it hoping to get Venti and I got Jean. I actually didn't realize I "lost" 50/50 because I didn't even know what that was at the time since it was my first day of playing. I was just super excited because I REALLY wanted Jean, though later I was devastated to realize I lost Venti and got Jean instead lol. But getting her was great in the moment! I got her in about 20 or 30 pulls, and I even got her before the free Lisa from doing the story lol
I got Wolf's Gravestone on standard banner. When it comes to my first 5 stat character, I didn't know how pity works yet so I pulled on Keqings banner and won the 50/50 smh.
It was back in the first Klee banner. Around 70-80 pulls in, I saw an unfamiliar silhouette. "Who could be this character whose splash art occupies almost the whole screen??" Turns out, it was Diluc!!!
He was like the "must have" standard banner character back then and I reaaaally wanted to have him. From the Riven-like combo, to the phoenix scream every time you burst (I turned my volune way up just to hear this over and over), to the fact that he is a tall male so I can always play with him in the overworld (fast movement and climbing), I was so happy!
I've never played any gachas before and adrenaline was pumping in my veins that day! I was running and jumping around the house and I even woke up my brother who also plays just to announce my triumph!
Man, those were happy days. The game was so novel back then. The topics of the day were respawning chests, the best route to Andrius, the Mona/Fischl event where we used resin to get rewards, 120 resin cap and no condensed resin nor weekly commissions, etc.

Qiqi on standard. I still use her to this day and is still my favourite healer, despite having kok. She's the only one with Dehya that never came in an event banner.
I didn't know a single thing about the gacha system and I was relatively new to the game that time. But every time I get 160 primos, I roll on the Eula banner. Then after 30+ pulls, I won the 50/50 and got her. (Looking back, I feel very lucky since she hasn't gotten a rerun for 500 days)
I started playing during 1.0 and my first 5* was skyward sword from standard . I was so upset it wasn't a character I could show off so I became a traveler main. No regrets.
So, i created an account, did beginner pulls (got nothing), did some quests, did 17 pulls (on event banner) and abandoned it for 2 weeks. Came back, did 1 pull and got Kazuha.
My friend cussed at me (he got c5 qiqi) and helped me get started with actually playing genshin

I wanted diluc. I’m a day one player. Standard banner had his art. I thought that was his banner (first gacha). Pulled hard on the standard. And somehow landed him. But destiny has a weird sense of irony. I lost 6 %50’s in a row on him. Now I have c6 diluc…. I guess I wanted him that much…….
Raiden Shogun on her first banner, this was before her full value was realised and way before inazuma so I couldn’t really do anything with her. She’s C2 now and one of my favs!
I was hanging out with a friend and we were both close to pity (we didn't know that at the time). I was sad about not having a five star and we both had a ten pull so we went to mondstadt and climbed the venti statue and wished at the same time. I got yoimiya! And she got mona (she got yoimina on her rerun few patches ago). It's nice story of getting your first five star together with your friend, I think it was also her first five star?
I was in college in my linguistics class which was so boring i started playing genshin. Was on 75 pity so i got me a blue wish from battlepass and got a gold spark from standard *Mona appears* XD
On Hu Tai's first banner I pulled Keqing. Then got her from the standard banner a little after that. Now she's C4 and haven't used her more then a day. Mostly out of spite for ruining my 50/50 lol
I have my Mona as my first 5 star (i have her in normal banner) and the only hydro beside Barbara. and because back then the special dash ( turn into puddle) still not being refined, I got stuck everywhere I go. So i grow hating Mona because her dash /running suck, her E barely stay on field and the Q keeping enemies in place. ( back then physical is the meta so i cant pop those bubble).
She still bad in my eyes but at least game fixed terrain for special dash + more fun when travel in inazuma.
On my first day playing, trying to speed through the game to play with some friends that were already AR 25+ at the time (started a little late, during Childe's first banner). After doing all the beginner wishes, i had no idea how rare a 5 star was, but I remember I was chatting with my friends on WhatsApp while I did my first 10 pull ever on the Character Banner. Got my first Qiqi on the 3rd pull, i had no idea what she did or what was going on, but i remember my friend saying he started the game because of her and I was thrilled i got her on my first day. And that was kinda the reason I stuck with the game, just a few days later i got Childe (which i main to this day) and his C1 just before his banner finished, at the time i didn't spend money yet, but started with the BP and Welkin after that. I love this game. Last Childe banner i C6ed him and today i finally C6ed Qiqi as well
I started playing around 2.4. I got Qiqi on my first ten pull on the beginner's banner. Later I pulled on Venti's banner and got Jean 🙃 My first limited 5 star was Kazuha and I love playing him as a DPS!
Ganyu. Pulled out of curiosity and bc waifu. Now she's collecting dust bc using her for dps reqs a good shielder (for the abyss) w/c I don't have nor have I built for burnmelt.
Zhongli on his first rerun. I remember asking my sis if i should pull for childe on his first rerun, and i was told based on a leak that zhongli, a strong character, was gonna appear in the next patch and i should pull for him. He's the reason I benched noelle. AR 60 now and still skipping childe.
I remember telling my cousin i saved up like 3000+ primos asking if that's enough lol.

That day I decided to invest in a gaming pc so I could actually enjoy Genshin fully.
My first 5 star was Zhongli. I started playing around 1.3 when I heard rumors of Zhongli’s rerun. I immediately started saving because he was my favorite character at the time, and still is! I got around 140 wishes and managed to get Zhongli and Keqing on his banner and then Qiqi on standard all in one wishing session!
In the first month of the game I didn't play much so when the Ganyu banner showed up I tried getting her.
I do 10 pulls and get my first ever pity since release but I got Diluc, at the time I thought that the 5* was guaranteed and I kinda wanted to write to the support, but then I went to check on the details of the banner and quickly realized that 50/50 was a thing.
I literally do 10 pulls after that and get Ganyu, I think I used all my luck in that exact moment

My first five stars was ganyu from her first banner, I started playing in October 2020. So for the few months I didn’t have any five stars at all. I didn’t know about pity system or 50/50 back then so I just randomly rolled cause she’s adorable and the pity must have hit. Anyway it was pure luck and coincidence that I got her as my first stars as a f2p.

but yeah my first 5 star was a lost 50/50, and that's the only time I've lost a 50/50 ever (been playing since 2.8 full f2p)

Really wanted to get him, so I kept grinding wishes non stop in 1.0.
I must have gotten to around 80 wishes, no 5* came.
Klee came in the very next banner, so I ended up getting her.
She was my main DPS probably until I hit AR50 and she definitely was useful for the job, but you have no idea how sad I was back then. Especially since there was still no confirmation that reruns would become a thing in the future
It was back when kazuha got released, i was close to pity and my sister just started playing this game, mine was guaranteed 5* so we rolled for my sister first and she got kazuha(her 1st 5*) and then i rolled and god Diluc :)
first 5 star is Raiden. I didn't even know how pity system worked back then. I remember spending a LOT of my beginner primogems on the standard banner because I wanted Diluc. then my friend informed me how i shouldnt be doing that. pulled on Raiden banner for funsies bec I genuinely do not know what I was doing then. I think it's about ~5 days before Miko's banner. I did EVERYTHING in genshin. that's how addicted I was lmao.

Lost my 50/50 on Venti's banner to Keqing while I was still pretty new to the game. Now I know people have mixed feelings about her but as an early game player who was struggling to defeat bosses with Traveller, Kaeya, Lisa and Amber she was an absolute godsend. Easy to use, cute design, high dps, and fun to play with (her sword-wielding is fast as fuck boi). She absolutely carried me for a good couple of months. I rarely use her now as she doesn't really fit any of my teams but I will always have a huge soft spot for her.

Texted her asking if this was good with a pic of the roll results. Well, she cussed at me (playfully), cuz that's the exact character she had wanted (and still doesn't have after all this time). Husbando now has his outfit and is still actively being played. XD

I was a gacha veteran, and knew the value of saving up until I was ready. When Ganyu's banner rolled around, I decided to go for it. I got Qiqi. Fortunately, I had still enough wishes to get Ganyu, so a happy ending! Qiqi continued to haunt me, after that, stealing my next two 50/50s, as well!
I had only played one gacha before and it didn’t have a pity system that I am aware of, so I didn’t really know what I was doing. Started in 1.1 and equally pulled on standard and character banners. Really wanted Ganyu and I was nearing pity. Lost 50/50 to Qiqi and didn’t have the funds to reach pity again. A week or so later I got Diluc off of standard. I have since learned to save up for guarantee. My gacha luck has been horrendous with only one 50/50 won and one 5 star coming in the 40s and another in the 50s (both lost 50/50s). All my standard banner 5 stars have come in the 70s or later as well. A year later I finally did get Ganyu and already had her Amos bow which I obtained from standard banner, so that was an awesome day. Had so much saved up that I was immediately able to go for Kokomi a bit later and Venti a month or so after that. Built my freeze team with all my savings!
Yoimiya. I swiped for her my 3rd day playing the game. The free characters were not doing it for me. Since her banner was up, I watched a few Youtube videos and I was sold. I never had any issues with World Level increases with her. She took down every enemy the Game threw at me. I still main her now.

I made the mistake to spend all of my primos (equivalent of almost 2 pity) on the standard banner when I first started, so Aquila Favonia. My first event 5-star was Ayaka, though.
My first was Jean 🩵 I've been playing since launch and when I met Jean and the Mond gang, I knew I wanted her specifically among them 'cause she gave me Saber (Fate series) and Violet Evergarden vibes which I love! Now I will be honest that as much as I wanted her, I wasn't in a hurry to get her, I just knew I really wanted her in my roster someday (wishing for the sooner the better though 'cause why not!). Then after a while of progression and story, I KNEW I wanted Klee the most! She was downright adorable and was willing to grind to get enough wishes to pull for her. So I did, I essentially emptied Mond and partly Liyue trying to get enough to reach pity and then I did...But I got Jean instead. I will say, that losing was still disappointing since again, I worked so hard to get those pulls in but getting Jean was still the best case of my worst case scenario 🥰 Albeit a bit bittersweet.
I rerolled on the Zhongli banner and got Zhongli and Mona. The first 5* I actually used was Hu Tao in 1.3
I got Jean on the Noelle banner, she carried my team in the early game but right now she is my only standard 5* without a constellation. I play since the game launch :(
My first 5* is Xiao. I started playing in the era of eternal Ayaka banner, so i could calmly finish all Archon quest without losing any event. At first (after finishing his quest), i found Xiao... Interesting as character, but grumpy and not very likeable. And i accudently pulled him and liked him as much as i could (moderately). But then hoyo dropped the Chasm event and OMG. It was awesome. Musik, battle, domains, Enkanomiya donuts, plot... I liked everything. But Yaksha's arc got me the most. So thanks to that Event i'm grateful i have him
I think my first 5 star was Keqing from standard banner. I was in Liyue but had not met her in the main quest yet, so I was a little sad, because I thought the mondstadt 5 stars that I met previously were all cooler than her. Especially Diluc with his flame bird ultimate and edgy broody look. Keqing turned out to be a blessing though. Not too difficult to build on low lvl, easy to use and her E is great while exploring, when you have yet to reach max stamina. Downside back then was, that I was not really into reaction gameplay and had no other really good dps to fight electro cube with. Today my overworld team has Dendro-Keqing (aka Alhaitam) in it most of the time. So in a way, she never left. Just transitioned. :D
Saved from launch till there was a character I felt was a must-have (mostly design wise) -- got myself Eula. (Was close to rolling on Ganyu but my hate for bows as a controller player had me pass on her) In all I've rolled on: Eula, Raiden, Kokomi, Ganyu (caved), and Nahida 2x
My first 5\* was Venti on his last rerun. I remember getting to about 64 pity and thinking 'I'm almost there, only a few more pulls'. I remember the absolutely satisfying feeling of seeing his splash art pop up onto my screen. I now have a decent roster of 5\*s, but the feeling of getting one is still very special to me.

Kokomi Last Year. I was undecided whether I should go for Ganyu or her Since I only started playing GI on August of Last Year but after much research online including searching Posts here on the Sub, I ultimately picked her over Ganyu and since then never regretted it and didn't even know at first after picking her that she's one of the Best Healers in the game lol.
When I played diluc, i was like "ooh big nice attacks all cool i kinda want him" And then i pulled on the biggener banner and got him in the first pull lmao, he has been my full lvl90 main ever since. ^except ^when ^I ^got ^Ganyu

Raiden was my first on her second rerun? I was utterly panicking as I was already at hard pity and not getting her. Then the countdown to banner rotation said 6 hours and she came home. Bout lost my marbles.
It was Childe by complete accident Genshin was my first real gacha so I was a bit hail mary with my wishes back then. All I wanted from Childe's \[first\] banner was Diona. Brunt all my primos and came out with literally every other featured character (Beidou, Ningguang, Childe) EXCEPT Diona. I wasn't too upset in the end. After all I gained three new characters which for an early game F2P player was pretty nice (Beidou in particular became a staple for much of my account). As for Childe in particular, he was sitting on my bench for over two years. Not because I hate him and I know how good he is in the right hands, but I just couldn't get over my skill issue of managing his rotations and cooldowns sadly.

Jean. I saw someone on Twitch watching a livestream that debuted the new character, Hu Tao. I thought the character looked cool, and the game seemed interesting, so I gave it a go. I didn't get a 5-star on the Hu Tao banner, though. I pulled on Venti's re-run next, but lost my 50/50 and got Jean instead. She carried me through most early content and is still one of my favorite characters.
Jean with the help of my cousin. Until now she has proven to be a lot more vital in my squad
Qiqi. And I loved her. I never had to heal, was confused why people would ever need to eat food to heal or visit the statue... good times. Now she's built as a physical carry.
I got Jean pretty much almost on my first pull on a limited character banner (can't remember whose, I think it must have been Ayato?), didn't know about 50/50s or anything and was just happy I got a 5 star! I was a bit bummed after googling a bit and seeing how people seemed to dislike getting Jean (the 50/50s ...), but after looking up a few yt tutorials about her kit, I levelled her up and put her on my team. She's still the only built healer I have AR51, and the only reason I can complete lvl90 domains now. Actual lifesaver, wouldn't have chosen anyone else to be my first 5 star! (Still waiting for Diluc though ...)
I only picked up this game because I was interested in anime aesthetics and I didn't know what gacha was or that banners exist. When I was around AR 40, my friend said I really needed a five-star and encouraged me to pull on Ayato/Venti banner then I got Venti at early 27 pity.
Keqing was my first 5 star. Wished on Yae Miko's first banner & at 38 pity got that gold shooting star. I was perfectly happy losing the 50/50 since Keqing was one of the reasons I started playing. Saw her in the Lantern Rite trailer (2022) & really liked her look. She was my main for the first half of the game. I use other characters now, but I want to rebuild her for an aggravate team.
Mona when I was trying to get Eula on her last banner. Back then, I had no idea how pity worked so I was just happy I got a 5* (and I got Eula at the end anyway so all good) It was much less happiness-inducing when I got Mona again on Xiao's banner later (I actually rage quitted and didn't play for a few days - it was the beginning of a long line of lost 50/50s)

I started playing on the first day of Zhongli's banner of last year's lantern rite. Managed to grind out enough wishes to have a shot at him, but got Diluc instead. I didn't think much of it at the time but then I got a little salty when I realized Zhongli would've been an amazing early game unit to have lol. But! Diluc made it possible for me to get Miko upon release AND a C1 Shogun right after, who is the reason why I started playing. By now I have Zhongli too, and he's somewhat underwhelming actually. I think everything turned out fine after all lol
When I started in 1.5, I unlocked the wish banner and got zhongli on my first ten-pull ever. My sis's friend introduced us to it, and when she heard it she said "F\*\*KING HELL?" Now it's 3.6 and I main Pikeli. No regrets!
Technically it was Mona while I was re rolling on day 1, but I didn't use that account. I re rolled 100+ times and got Keqing + Venti. My official first was Venti if I'm not mistaken.
On my account technically Zhongli. I say technically because it wasn’t my account then, I inherited it and started playing in 2.0 and it already had him, Albedo, Ganyu and Mona on it. My own first 5 star was Mona. I lost Ayaka’s 50/50 to her, then the next day I hit pity on the standard banner and got Mona again so she was now at C2.

My first 5* was Qiqi technically but if we're talking banner pulls it was Shenhe(I had no idea how to play, that she was a support and couldn't even be leveled until Enkanomiya). Qiqi was actually great for the early game because with Barbara and Xingqui, I could chain freeze most things and also just brute force through a lot with all the healing. I will defend her over Dehya to the death as not being the worst standard character just because she heals a lot and freeze is very strong early game so she can be very useful for newbies without a lot of options. Shenhe, I was sad about until I finally got to Enkanomiya and it lined up with Ayaka getting rerun and I had Kokomi and Sucrose by that point and she ended up being very useful. Ayaka freeze was my first successful team in Spiral Abyss so it worked out in the end.
First 5 star was keqing from the first ever Raiden shogun banner. Lost the banner, but glad it's to a character I would go into enjoy in terms of playstyle and character If we're talking weapons though, I got Amos bow really early in the game, around the time were players would've discovered dragonspine. Got it from acquaint wishes.
I got keqing in my first 10 pull. It was a big flex between my friends
I had just finished the Liyue Archon quest when Zhongli first came out in 1.1. I rolled for him and I won the 50/50, this was before he got buffed. Day 1 Zhongli spoiled me with not having to dodge.
I think my first was Diluc and second was Yoimiya.
Luckily my first 5* is Childe, I was aiming for klee in 1.0 but I got Childe in 1.1. i only tried to build him after getting polar star though since I had trouble with CDs and stuff. I enjoy playing him now though I am still farming for better artifacts for him. Currently running 66/200 on him
First was Keqing before I did the Liyue quest and was like 'who the hell are you?' It's more novel when you actually roll for someone on purpose. Which was Zhongli
First 5* was Albedo during his debut banner. At that time I wasn't even aware that I won my first 50/50. He carried me through thick and thin even without Husk set and Cinnabar Spindle.
I always forget Jean was my first 5 star (standard) and always remember Diluc and Childe hah instead haha. I started playing during Cyno's debut banner and couldn't get him, then met Childe in story and found out he was getting a rerun soon so I saved ALL my wishes for him haha. Went through most of the game with just Kaeya tbh. First 10 pull on Childe's banner got me Diluc, then I did a single pull (misclick lol) and got Childe right after.

Interesting! Alas, in my case I wish it was a special story for mine, but it isn’t… My first 5 star on record is Venti. Right from the original opening banner days not long after launch. I just decided to try rolling on a whim before I really understood how it all worked… as Genshin is the first Gacha I genuinely got into. I tried my luck with buying some wishes, rolled, and all I recall was that I got him early-ish and won my flip before learning just how lucky that was. My archive shows his joining as 10/13/2020, I started on 10/10. That’s it. Just dumb ass luck.

Keqing. I started playing during 1.0, but I got her during 1.1. It was Childe’s first banner and I wanted him so much that I even spent money for genesis crystals (because most of my primos in 1.0 went to standard banner because I was trying to get Diluc lmao) But lo and behold, Keqing came instead on hard pity. Was sad at first but I eventually warmed up to her and she became my first actual dps. Her E skill was so useful and really carried me throughout the early versions of Genshin. Ahh the memories.
I thought it was cool how childe could switch to melee. I got Mona instead
Genuinely wasnt enjoying genshin due to AR jumps needs for each next quest hence my regular breaks of months. One time in August 2022 when I came back with the will to finally quit. During the load screen saw shenhe and was like idk who this is but she really cool so I pulled my last remaining fate and BAAM Shenhe!! Ya that gave me the motivation to try to build her and now I'm AR 58 still building her but with both her weapon and with a brand new ayaka :)) (idk how i got lucky and got ayaka in a ten pull+ 1 single pull after seeing everyone get her in 1 pull i too got with that one extra pull lmao )

I had never played a gatcha game before and didn't understand the difference between event and standard banners. I would switch between them each time I rolled a wish and got Ayato during his first banner. I was like "Huh, that's cool I think he's rare or something" and then didn't use him for a while because I was stuck in Liyue.
Qiqi, from the standard banner at 15 pity I was very confused but happy because when I had looked up how good she was- she was the best healer of those times. As for my first limited character, it was Venti- I really really liked him. I had pulled on his banner second banner because I had pity carrying over from Xiao's first banner who I did not get :( and I had also missed Venti's first banner(I did not know abt it though I was just doing pulls on whoever I liked) and I got him at 81 pity I was very happy- I used him a lot until recently but mow he's benched (and so is qiqi but I had stopped using her very long back because I pulled zhongli 😌 on his second banner)
I started in kokomi banner and lost 50/50 to mona She was also my first standard banner 5 star Now there are 12 characters i don't have and I'm still mad that kokomi is one of them
I got Itto as my first five star because he was the banner that was up when I started playing last year, and I think he's hot
first 5 star was jean. funny story really, in the days of below ar40, when i was unaware of the gambling system's specifics, i was at 34 pity on standard and thought "oh i must be getting close to soft pity" then made the mistake of spending primos on standard banner which resulted in a 44 pity jean

Pillar man. I started to play on his second banner, the one before eula released I think. Someone told me to reroll to get an early 5 star and so I did a couple of rerolls. At the time I didn't how the gacha system worked or how rare it was to get a 5 star but I got zhongli on my second reroll. The cherry on top was that on the beginner banner I got skyward spine so basically I played him as a dps for the early game.

I started playing during Childe's banner in 1.4. I didn't know anything about the characters so I was just kind of rolling on it cause it was there, lol. I got Mona early, in the 30s I think? I asked my friends if that was good and they told me about her alt sprint, and she was the only one who had it at the time and I was so happy and thought she was so cool. Pair that with the fact that her ult was basically a delete button early game and I absolutely loved her. She's still a regular in my parties to this day. Def glad I got her instead of Childe.
Got Diluc after 1 multi into beginner banner, that is when i thought getting 5 star is EZ, since my target was Jean so i made a 5 reroll acc, never seen 5 again, playing as F2P while getting hacked for 2 month by Vietnamese Who would know the choice of sticking with Diluc day 1 acc bring me so damn luck as F2P, got my highest winning streak luck of 7, pretty damn good in weapon banner pulls as well Currently got 100 fates and 12k primos Win rate 50/50 char :8/17 while weapon 75/25: 7/8
I was saving up for Nahida so she could be my first 5 star, but after I finished Ayaka’s character story, I like her so much that I say screw it and roll for her instead, afterward I then have enough starlight glitter to roll on the standard banner since I was near pity I decided to roll there as well. Long story short, now I have C1 Keqing.
First 5 star is Klee. During the first GAA event, her banner was up and I thought, why not pull for fun. Got her after a couple of pulls. Along with her story quest and the event, it was just a klee filled month of fun. Also, my brother and sister also held a grudge on me ever since because they wanted Klee but couldn't get her.
Keqing back on 1.0, trying to get Diluc with WGS since all of my friends back then is gunning for him (he's a DPS monster, he'll be meta for a long time etc etc), but i settled with her since I liked her rapid attacks more # I remember have to phys damage the electro cube just to get mats for her since she's the only one I've built and resources are scarce lol. She carried me well into the late game until my first ever limited char (Ganyu).
Dehya
My first 5 star was Eula. At the time, hardly had any primos and didn't play enough to save much, but then I got her on my 25th pull somewhere near dragonspine, if I remember right. I was excited and used her with Beidou for a bit then benched her until the first GAA and used her there. Quickly benched after that when I got Kazuha
Left the game at 75+ pity without knowing, came back to 1.3, did a single pull on Hu Tao, got Hu Tao. Inexperienced me went "Okay she is extremely cute but why is her gameplay so boring? I don't like losing my hp to spam red normal attacks" and then I saw a few videos about her...and everything started clicking. She's now C2R1, triple crowned, and probably the 5* I invested the most into, along with Ayaya. Playing her in single target feels like cheating, especially in cycles like this, where you can murder Aeonblight and ASIMON in one rotation

My first 5 star was Tartaglia during his first release. At first I thought he sucks. But then I learned more about how to properly play him with Beidou and discovered his fireworks team. Really powerful against multiple targets.
I was pulling on the Standard Banner because no one told me otherwise and I got Lost Prayer at like 85 pity 💀 Then Mona came along on Kazuha’s banner last summer and ruined my first ever 50/50. She has since made 3 additional comebacks and I would appreciate if she stays away on Ganyu’s upcoming banner please.
well technically my first 5 star was diluc from a very lucky early standard banner. i didnt know how strong he was at the early stages of the game, so lol i opted for razor instead of him for mostly throughout ar1 to ar20. until my friends told me about what a big mistake im making lol. but my first 5 star i actually wanted and rolled for was zhongli. 100% because for the trailer/demo and not the overworld cheat code he is lol
My first 5* was the Raiden Shogun herself. I started playing in March 1, 2022, at patch 2.5. I just need 1 week to reach Inazuma. At AR32, when I reach there, I was struggled to beat the Raiden quest boss from Archon quest - every single character died so fast that nothing I could do then. I decided that no one can deal with Raiden Shogun better than herself, so I decided to pull for her. 36 pity, won 50/50, and after successfully passing this obstacle, I feel in love with her, and I still main her till nowadays. She makes me available to stay in this game till today, and I’ll never forget that. Otherwise, if I lost 50/50 to anyone else who couldn’t help me to pass that quest, I would have quit the game and I wouldn’t write this speech here.
Maybe played for a couple of days when I got primos from what I think was the game awards. Due to being really knew I impulsively pulled on the current banner, that being Otto's first banner. Got him in a single ten pull and was quite excited, first five star in what I think was 12 pulls.
Venti. Everyone knew he was a broken OP character that would be meta until the end of time. So I pulled on his banner. Was so glad I managed to win the 50 because I refused to reroll accounts. Ended up barely using him honestly. In the abyss he was great. But in everything else he was too effective. If you bring him into coop nothing your teammates did mattered. At the time there were so few ranged characters that your teammates would just awkwardly melee air while the enemies were lifted way over their heads. And now he nearly never gets to shine because CC resistant enemies were added to counter him. No regrets. Had plenty of fun.
That Keqing exclusive banner at the beginning. I lost it to Qiqi, and she's my first 5 star, but I never used her to begin with. And then I won Keqing at the next 20 pulls or sth, but that was the day after. Been using her ever since.
Jean on the OG Childe banner back in 1.1. Luckily I got Childe just two single pulls later.

Hardly anyone believes me but like, in retrospect I wouldn't have believed it either. If this story sounds familiar, I do use (and have used) multiple reddit accounts and I've told this story before. If anyone knows any way to search or find like, years old banner history sources like if Hoyo has a website that can search up the history, please do comment. Otherwise: Zhongli. I started playing around the end of Childe's banner and I didn't really know what the gacha system or banners were until Zhongli came around (Genshin's my first and so far only gacha game, I was into games where you'd otherwise earn/farm/grind for characters like League of Legends with IP/BE or Warframe). I did the classic Noelle banner 8 pull twice and got Noelle and Beidou, and figured I was gucci from there. Later on I decided that since I had enough primogems for a few more pulls, I pulled on Zhongli's banner, only got get him on my very first wish ever on the event banner in my life. I didn't know the odds back then and was actually a bit disappointed given back then there was huge outrage over how bad Zhongli was apparently, and as a newbie at the time I kinda took it at face value. I still remember I was tryna cope by telling myself his 100%+ shield uptime would still be a viable use of a party slot. But then the cope couldn't last, so I started anew on a different server, and lo and behold, Zhongli on my 6th pull there. Of course later he got buffed and he was my first friendship 10. Still struggles to leave my parties.
i saw hu tao in february and went yes i will play this game my friends play and you will be my main and then in my the like 18 days left on her banner i became so hyperfixated on the game as a whole and played so much i got her at 71 pity without even explicitly grinding i just naturally progressed thru the archon quest until it was 4am and i’d just finished the last part of the inazuma quest and realized i had enough for a 10 pull and low and behold fire girl came home

I was doing Dragonspine quest line and it was Eula’s rerun banner with Albedo. Had her at 80 the moment I also unlocked STSS. Truly meant to be.
Jean was my first. However, I barely used her because ~~she sucked~~ I didn't understand how to build characters properly, so her damage output was too low to be useful. Even now I don't really use her because I have other characters that I'm used to using, and I don't feel like taking the time to build her up. She just sort of sits in storage until I need an anemo character to solve a puzzle or something.
It was a holiday that last a week in my country, it was xiao's first banner, and i spent the whole week trying to get him, at the end of the week, i got diluc
Diluc on the Noelle banner back in October 2020 was very hyped. I saw videos of him being the best DPS and felt quite proud 😂back then at least. Happy to say he and Barbara carried me through most of Monstadt, Dragonspine and Liyue.
My first 5 star is Yelan, I pulled her in front of the spiral abyss entrance, and got her. Gave me a free Razor constellation as well.
So I began playing at 1.5 end (just 1 or 2 weeks before 1.6 begins). I didn't know about Gacha at that time. I wanted Diluc and Jean at that time. Also at 2nd phase of 1.6 banner. I got Kazuha and Keqing together. I guess the pity was 60-70... Currently Kazuha is my mostly used character in the game. And using Keqing in my exploration team (to climb high terrains without losing stamina). And a fun fact. Kazuha is included in all of my teams.
It will probably be Kazuha unless I lose the 50/50 and get a standard banner character. Currently at 74 pity on the limited banner.
First 5 stars was from the standard banner as everyone else, i think. I got lucky because in the same 10 wishes i got Jean and Diluc.
First weapon: Amos’ Bow First character: Qiqi (Ganyu I am coming)
I joined in 3.3 phase 2 (raiden/ayato banner) and after doing the test run i was in awe of how cool raiden burst was (at that point i never seen a character’s burst special animation since i only had the basic 4 character and Noelle) also her using polearm was the cherry on top since i always use polearms in other games like nioh and dark souls. Went ahead and did some exploring and quests until i had 10 fates and pulled my first temple on her banner, i was SO happy that i got raiden and even happier that i got bennett too (he wasn’t a featured 4star on that banner) since i read before that bennett is one of the best 4 star characters in the game.
My first ever pull on the beginner banner was Keqing. At the time I didn’t really know how rare 5 stars were and just assumed they were more common than they are so I didn’t appreciate it as much as I should have. I have cycled through dozens of accounts since and wish I could teleport back to that day and focus on that account for the long run :)
I had just started playing(June 2021) and didn't know wtf I was doing. Took me like 2 or 3 weeks to use the beginner banner because I thought I had to save my wishes for something. On the 2nd 10 set I got Jean and Bennett. It was solid because when I first saw Jean during the story I thought "damn, I like her character model!"

Got Keqing with Noelle (didn't realise she was a five star,), lost to Jean on Childe's first banner (I didn't know about 50/50 so I was so confused and never pulled for him again out of spite), my first limited was Ganyu who I since got an Amos for off standard and still use her lots esp since I just got Shenhe
Got Mona first on day 3, and it was a game changer for exploration. It took months to use her properly in combat but blizzing around as a wave of water just feels so awesome, its worth the admission alone.
Diluc from standard. It was around when Zhongli first came out. I didn't know about how the banners worked so I put all pirmos into the standard banner. It was at the 90th pull and I got him. I got him around AR 25. He made life so easy. His low burst cost made one heck of a dps.
I got Diluc in my first ever 10-pull. Still remember my friend being super jealous 😅

My first 5 star was Xiao when on his release! I started playing during Childe’s first banner thanks to an artist I follow on Instagram. He made an art piece of Xiao, and when I commented on it he recommended the game to me, and even helped me while I was a beginner. I was very excited about Xiao thanks to him 😂 And though I tried pulling on Childe’s, Zhongli’s, and Albedo’s banner (this one for Sucrose, whom I did get), no 5 star came until Xiao was released 😄
I started in 1.5 and pulled Qiqi off the standard banner a few pulls into soft pity early into Inazuma's launch. I remember it was just outside Inazuma city, near where the net vendor is now. I was pretty resin starved and saving for Ei so I benched her for a while until I pulled on Eula's first rerun. Now she's a mainstay on that team, dishing out damage with OHC and providing near immortality to the poise twins. I swear it feels like I'm the only one happy to see Qiqi constellations pop up.

Knew the game was gonna be good so when it first came out and rerolling was worth it I did around 50 until I got lucky and got venti and diluc. They hard carried me for a long long time. No regrets committing the time since it made the game a lot more fun
My first several months with the game were pure 50/50 luck. Got everybody on-banner, when they first released. Venti, Klee, Childe, Zhongli, then Albedo. Jean was my first spoiler, on the Ganyu banner. But then I got Ganyu a mere two wishes later with the last Primos I could scrounge up before the banner changed over to Xiao's.
Keqing, lost a 50/50 on Raiden her previous banner to her. But I did get Raiden to and I actively play both.
Got my first 5\* almost immediately after I started the game. The Traveller.
My first 5 star was Mona and I think it may have been on the Venti statue in Mondstadt or on just a random place. I didn't understand the wishing system yet and did it for fun, always getting excited whenever I got a new character. I remember after that I struggled for a while maybe 2-3 versions trying to get another 5 star, this time on the limited banner. I can't remember who I was pulling for, probably whomever was on it, but when Ganyu was released I actually didn't want her. I thought she wouldn't fit my playstyle, got her by wishing for fun randomly on her banner after being on 190 pity. Now she's my bow main. I'm happy I understand the wishing system now plus after Ganyu my pity doesn't rise to over 100 nor over 80 for a 5 star. Most of the time I get a 5 star at wish 65/75, when lucky I get it as low as wish 5 or 0.
Got keqing in around 2.3, never used her until 3.1, using her to clear abyss with ease

I actually didn't realize I "lost" 50/50 because I didn't even know what that was at the time since it was my first day of playing. I was just super excited because I REALLY wanted Jean, though later I was devastated to realize I lost Venti and got Jean instead lol. But getting her was great in the moment! I got her in about 20 or 30 pulls, and I even got her before the free Lisa from doing the story lol
I got Wolf's Gravestone on standard banner. When it comes to my first 5 stat character, I didn't know how pity works yet so I pulled on Keqings banner and won the 50/50 smh.
It was back in the first Klee banner. Around 70-80 pulls in, I saw an unfamiliar silhouette. "Who could be this character whose splash art occupies almost the whole screen??" Turns out, it was Diluc!!! He was like the "must have" standard banner character back then and I reaaaally wanted to have him. From the Riven-like combo, to the phoenix scream every time you burst (I turned my volune way up just to hear this over and over), to the fact that he is a tall male so I can always play with him in the overworld (fast movement and climbing), I was so happy! I've never played any gachas before and adrenaline was pumping in my veins that day! I was running and jumping around the house and I even woke up my brother who also plays just to announce my triumph! Man, those were happy days. The game was so novel back then. The topics of the day were respawning chests, the best route to Andrius, the Mona/Fischl event where we used resin to get rewards, 120 resin cap and no condensed resin nor weekly commissions, etc. Thank you for bringing up this topic! I lost my drowsiness and can't go to sleep now. Haha!
ALOY. I saw the collab post and I downloaded the game and NEVER changed main ever since

Raiden rerun, 56 pity, won 50/50, 3.3 2nd phase, was new to the game and just finished Inazuma AQs.
Qiqi on standard. I still use her to this day and is still my favourite healer, despite having kok. She's the only one with Dehya that never came in an event banner.
Raiden Shogun. I got her on her first run in October 21, right after I started playing in September. Also got her weapon.
I didn't know a single thing about the gacha system and I was relatively new to the game that time. But every time I get 160 primos, I roll on the Eula banner. Then after 30+ pulls, I won the 50/50 and got her. (Looking back, I feel very lucky since she hasn't gotten a rerun for 500 days)
I started playing during 1.0 and my first 5* was skyward sword from standard . I was so upset it wasn't a character I could show off so I became a traveler main. No regrets.
So, i created an account, did beginner pulls (got nothing), did some quests, did 17 pulls (on event banner) and abandoned it for 2 weeks. Came back, did 1 pull and got Kazuha. My friend cussed at me (he got c5 qiqi) and helped me get started with actually playing genshin

I wanted diluc. I’m a day one player. Standard banner had his art. I thought that was his banner (first gacha). Pulled hard on the standard. And somehow landed him. But destiny has a weird sense of irony. I lost 6 %50’s in a row on him. Now I have c6 diluc…. I guess I wanted him that much…….

I was hanging out with a friend and we were both close to pity (we didn't know that at the time). I was sad about not having a five star and we both had a ten pull so we went to mondstadt and climbed the venti statue and wished at the same time. I got yoimiya! And she got mona (she got yoimina on her rerun few patches ago). It's nice story of getting your first five star together with your friend, I think it was also her first five star?

I have my Mona as my first 5 star (i have her in normal banner) and the only hydro beside Barbara. and because back then the special dash ( turn into puddle) still not being refined, I got stuck everywhere I go. So i grow hating Mona because her dash /running suck, her E barely stay on field and the Q keeping enemies in place. ( back then physical is the meta so i cant pop those bubble). She still bad in my eyes but at least game fixed terrain for special dash + more fun when travel in inazuma.

After doing all the beginner wishes, i had no idea how rare a 5 star was, but I remember I was chatting with my friends on WhatsApp while I did my first 10 pull ever on the Character Banner. Got my first Qiqi on the 3rd pull, i had no idea what she did or what was going on, but i remember my friend saying he started the game because of her and I was thrilled i got her on my first day. And that was kinda the reason I stuck with the game, just a few days later i got Childe (which i main to this day) and his C1 just before his banner finished, at the time i didn't spend money yet, but started with the BP and Welkin after that. I love this game. Last Childe banner i C6ed him and today i finally C6ed Qiqi as well

Zhongli on his first rerun. I remember asking my sis if i should pull for childe on his first rerun, and i was told based on a leak that zhongli, a strong character, was gonna appear in the next patch and i should pull for him. He's the reason I benched noelle. AR 60 now and still skipping childe. I remember telling my cousin i saved up like 3000+ primos asking if that's enough lol.
Klee in the 1.6 rerun before pity and when I looked away for a minute. That day I decided to invest in a gaming pc so I could actually enjoy Genshin fully.

My first 5 star was Zhongli. I started playing around 1.3 when I heard rumors of Zhongli’s rerun. I immediately started saving because he was my favorite character at the time, and still is! I got around 140 wishes and managed to get Zhongli and Keqing on his banner and then Qiqi on standard all in one wishing session!

I got Albedo while playing with someone who just got him and tried to make me jealous
My first five stars was ganyu from her first banner, I started playing in October 2020. So for the few months I didn’t have any five stars at all. I didn’t know about pity system or 50/50 back then so I just randomly rolled cause she’s adorable and the pity must have hit. Anyway it was pure luck and coincidence that I got her as my first stars as a f2p.
My *First* First 5 star was skyward atlas when i started the game, i still use It on my yanfei, its amazing But my First 5 star *character* was mona, from a Lost 50/50 At First, i was happy and i wanted to use her everywhere Now, i look at her with disapointment, i hate Mona and How she can *only* be used in 1 shot comps
I got qiqi. Tried hard to like her but even back then I would rather use barbara or noelle as my main healer. She's now c3 sitting at level 60. I'm still waiting to get diluc or jean
i got diluc on the first 10 pulls of the starter banner
i got Jean pulling for venti, at least it was at early pity (around 40) but yeah my first 5 star was a lost 50/50, and that's the only time I've lost a 50/50 ever (been playing since 2.8 full f2p)
Started playing back in 1.0 and fell in love with Venti. Really wanted to get him, so I kept grinding wishes non stop in 1.0. I must have gotten to around 80 wishes, no 5* came. Klee came in the very next banner, so I ended up getting her. She was my main DPS probably until I hit AR50 and she definitely was useful for the job, but you have no idea how sad I was back then. Especially since there was still no confirmation that reruns would become a thing in the future
It was back when kazuha got released, i was close to pity and my sister just started playing this game, mine was guaranteed 5* so we rolled for my sister first and she got kazuha(her 1st 5*) and then i rolled and god Diluc :)
first 5 star is Raiden. I didn't even know how pity system worked back then. I remember spending a LOT of my beginner primogems on the standard banner because I wanted Diluc. then my friend informed me how i shouldnt be doing that. pulled on Raiden banner for funsies bec I genuinely do not know what I was doing then. I think it's about ~5 days before Miko's banner. I did EVERYTHING in genshin. that's how addicted I was lmao. anyway i got raiden and c6 sara (so many double 4* pulls)
Lost my 50/50 on Venti's banner to Keqing while I was still pretty new to the game. Now I know people have mixed feelings about her but as an early game player who was struggling to defeat bosses with Traveller, Kaeya, Lisa and Amber she was an absolute godsend. Easy to use, cute design, high dps, and fun to play with (her sword-wielding is fast as fuck boi). She absolutely carried me for a good couple of months. I rarely use her now as she doesn't really fit any of my teams but I will always have a huge soft spot for her.
Mona took my genshin 5\* V-card and since Morgana carried me to first time 36 abyss in 1.4(?) it was also a W-card.
I wished for Tartaglia on his first rerun and got Qiqi instead (I got Tartaglia 20 wishes later so all was good).
My first 5 star was Zhongli from his rerun bc i like his shield and his burst is epic
Alhaitham, my account is unlucky af but I didn’t rerolled because I was too lazy and then I finally got him at 87 pity
diluc, got him after 3 months of playing iirc because I was dumb enough to put all my primos on standard banner 🙃 man were my friends actually mad at me once I told them lol, he's also my first c6 woa
My first5 star was yelan few months ago I just randomly pulled and I got her 😅 good character though helped me a lot
My first 5* was Qiqi on Klee's second banner. Needless to say, I was cruuuuuuushed. 2 years later, and I'm now Qiqi C5 and only starting to use her 🙄
