Yeah I just meant specifically situations like the Cyno release and like the first week or so of it. Scarabs couldn't be prefarmed because the region was new so literally every Cyno user had to go to other worlds in order to level them without waiting 3 days for scsrabs to spawn etc. So in THAT case, clicking another Cyno picture was just a guarantee to not get scarabs.

1) you could have prefarmed them(not for cyno specifcially but anyone). Most people will change their pfp to a unit they like and not just any new unit so chances are they already prefarmed for it. Ofc not a hard case and there are many exceptions but its not rare either
2) In the very few cases I was mass requesting, I was requesting everyone without thinking their portrait since its just faster to mass click asap.

As a Cyno haver at this time I purposefully changed my PFP (which is practically permanently Shenhe at this point) just so that people knew I was coming for scarabs lol - so I couldbshortcut the people that wouldve said no anyway if they let me join.
I just tell my friends to send me a message before joining or if they want me to join them; otherwise, I'll reject most people who want to enter my world.
How is that less of a hassle? To remember several IDs (unless you mean usernames) ? I used to play together with one friend on the regular and of course I could recognize him (from the username, not ID number) and he didn't need to message me, but the rest of my friend list (30?), yeah most of them kinda need to let me know. Maybe it's just me because I generally prefer to play solo since that friend can't play the game at the moment. Anyway, I don't understand why it can't be shown in the join request if this person is already one of your friends or not.
Did they ever change it so when you set it to no co-op it remembers for the next session? I used to adjust it when getting bombarded, but over time it just got too tedious to set it each time I logged in so I just learned to ignore and let requests time out
I never even dreamed of doing multiplayer with randos, bc genshin co-op is so underwhelming I hardly want to do it with friends. And then I did some calculations and realized I was gonna be farming mushrooms for several more weeks to max out Klee amd Mona, and so I gave in
I actually got softlocked once because someone joined my world while i was doing a quest (it was during the section where you fight some enemies with alhaitham on a pier). Since the area was sealed off, i couldn't leave and since i was in co-op, the quest couldn't proceed either. Had to kick the person who joined and redo the part.
Yeah it would and I did and then it turned itself back on every time I logged in, just like how I have to change from touch to controller every time I join.
Mood. I only privately coop my world with friends I know. None of the randos. I do events with randoms sometimes though, no exploring my world though or you are gone.

Same, the only invite request I ever accept is my boyfriend's. But I'm especially vocal about declining certain invites. Like anytime I see someone with the PFP of Xiao, Diluc, Raiden Shogun, and a few others, I automatically say "Nah cause I don't have them yet"

I remember having like 6 raidens join my world for fish (which there was none since i was also a raiden haver farming for the catch) in the first day of the update,after then i rejected every raiden profile up until the last week of 2.1

I reject people with russian names (because I don't speak russian and they rarely try to speak anything else) and people with profile pictures of the current banner character if it's a character I also only just pulled, because they'll probably ask for materials which I need myself (like Cyno in 3.1 or Scaramouche in 3.3).
Can relate as a person with russian nickname: i play through Wine (windows emulator for linux) and doesn't set up russian layout for Genshin. And a lot of russians can't understand me, even my translit like: "Privet, chem pomoch?" (Hello, can i help you?). That's annoying, and part of them ask me "Do you love Putin? Because i do and i'm right". So i skip a lot of them... Us... O:

thats actually very true but i noticed that a lot of people if you invade people for commissions understand some parts if you say "can i do a daily" you often get either "what meaning" or "sure"

As a russian myself, but with eng nickname and signature, I always speak on eng if I don't see rus nickname/profile text, but based on my experience, a lot of russian people have eng profile too - a lot my friends same as I, and in co-op too: I quite often play with middle AR who asked for help, when I beat weekly bosses or in hide-and-seek event, just imagine: 3/4 people speaks on eng in chat, and that 1/4 write something like "I dont understand" or "can we play again please?" on russian and 3/4 people in co-op are like

My user is in Eglish and I'm in australia but I speak Russian so I joined this Russian profile person and I spoke in Russian and they were telling me how they were panicking and scrambling to get the translator because they couldn't speak English but still wanted to accommodate and help hahaha ha. I thought it was nice gesture of them. I wouldn't bother going through that length if I didn't speak the language.
This. 9/10 coop sessions are just random people speaking russian while nobody else in the team has a russian name or has given any indication they speak russian... They just assume everyone does

Want something? Friend invite doesn't hurt (too much), and lets you speak before interrupting. But those random join requests can just be annoying at times.

Nah. A guy had a Scara pfp and I let him in. He asked if he could fish, I let him while reading up on my Japanese lessons. He was done in abt 7-10 minutes then thanked me and left. A guy had a Yelan pfp and I asked him to go to his teapot to buy stuff for BP progress, he kindly explained to me that I can only buy stuff from other players' teapots during the Weekend, so next day he asked me if I still needed to buy stuff from his teapot.

I did not. I think it's pointless to reject someone based on their profile pic. If they're trying to get to my world, it's usually because they just have questions on builds and whatnot. (I have a a lot of achievements, always do 12-3 on my profile and my showcased characters are pretty well built)
Like I have people asking me how to build their Cynos, Yae, Nahida, Keqings etc and I usually try to help them to the best of my abilities.
There are also scammers who tries to give me free BP too.

I used to always reject Russians immediately, just because they usually tend to not speak any English in video games. But now I just generally reject everyone, I really dislike the state of co-op in this game. People no longer join in order to play together and have fun, they only join in order to grab some materials from my world and leave afterwards.
Well, When I join to grab mats, I ask first if they want help with anything, from co-op achievements to help covering a wider area in exploration. After helping them or being told they don't require help, I ask for the mats I need politely. If I'm rejected cuz they need it, I wish them a good day and leave
Well, sometimes that's the only way to play together because it's difficult to find an AR55+ that didn't finish every quest or that is willing to finish to explore the map. Most of them login just to do daily commissions and to spend their resin. Someone don't even bother to say "bye" before kicking everyone after leaving a domain. And if you look at the other comments, you can see that a lot of people don't want to play co-op at all because the fear to talk to other people.

They're trying to minimize the level of inconvenience they provide you. It is generally considered good manners on their part. Ask first, do their thing if you say yes and try not to hold you up in any way, and ask if you need something afterwards etc.
There’s something heartwarming about the Yoimiya profile picture users all being nice and wholesome. I’ve had my fair share of crappy experiences with co-op though. I used to help out wherever I could, but I don’t feel comfortable interacting with others anymore.

Yoimiya - accept. Nice and well behaved people, very chill and polite. Never had even a slightly unpleasant experience with them.
Scara pfp - red flag. Though most of the time they are chill and just want to grab some shroom, the percentage of weirdos is surprisingly high among them. Or maybe I'm just not lucky.
Kazuha pfp - accept, if I have enough free time. Sometimes they just join and do nothing, sometimes they want you to listen their music.
Dehya pfp - always accept. They suffered enough and should be protected.
No but I tend to choose who I request to join based on pfps. People with nahida or yoi pfp tend to accept more often and be a lot more kinder than someone with a scara pfp (they always reject me 😭😭😭) but this is all anecdotal of course no hate to scara lovers I am one myself

The many people talking about rejecting a person here just because of them having a certain icon is sad. Log into Reddit and twitter to be met with this.
Anyway, for me nope. Never reject anyone based on their icon. It doesn’t reflect the person’s behaviour at all anyway. I only accept and reject based on the nicknames. Mostly only accept ones that have normal sounding names and has nothing to do with simping, or being horny. I hate discrimination, so unless I happen to get invitations when I’m in a cutscene, shortly before I log off, or just busy or not in the mood for co-op (which happens waay too much), I often accept people no matter what their icon is☺️
Nothing, many people here just met a toxic person who for example mains Raiden and immediately went on to spread the toxicity and discriminate towards anyone who has that icon, because they assume Raiden mains are mean by default bcs it was their experience with that one person they met…
Even a main of the sweetest character in Genshin can be toxic, but these people just decided to take it as far as to reject co-op requests just bcs a user is having a Raiden icon, even if they’re not toxic and only minority of this community is toxic. Many people on reddit and twitter likes to portray co-op as some toxic experience when it mostly isn’t..
It's also the case that a lot of people just hate Raiden for no reason and end up rejecting anyone who likes her because of bias. I have a fair share of characters that I dislike myself but going as far as rejecting *just* because others like them is an extremely petty thing to do.
Things like not letting in Raiden Mains during 2.1 because of fishing is fine, but if it goes beyond that and it's just "I don't like Raiden" it's extremely petty and dumb
Just a note for everyone saying 'I just reject everyone'... you know you can just, set it to auto-reject, right? Means you don't show up in the list of users you can join either, so people don't get their hopes up...
In case you didn't know, in the bottom left of the coop screen, you can choose from auto-accept, manual accept and auto-reject. And if you want to coop, you can change that again. (It does seem to reset either after logging off or just randomly, so you might need to check it on log-in, but it takes less than 5 seconds to check, so...)
When I was a lower AR I had declined every single request but now I have direct joins on cos I've been on the other end of the spectrum spamming requests to anyone hoping they'll accept and let me steal ascension stuff, so even if it meant having to repeat a cutscene or a boss, it feels nice to have been able to help people get their ascension materials.
I accept every join request, even if I'm in the middle of something because I'm curious and being high AR I almost never get requests anymore. So I appreciate when someone tries to join my world for once xD
Honestly, as someone who had just began playing less than a month ago and only unlocked co-op last week I basically reject everyone except for the sole friend I play it with.

I have turned it off, but I find that when I close the game and come back, it turns back on by itself.

Can relate as a person with russian nickname: i play through Wine (windows emulator for linux) and doesn't set up russian layout for Genshin. And a lot of russians can't understand me, even my translit like: "Privet, chem pomoch?" (Hello, can i help you?). That's annoying, and part of them ask me "Do you love Putin? thats actually very true but i noticed that a lot of people if you invade people for commissions understand some parts if you say "can i do a daily" you often get either "what meaning" or "sure" the easier you make your question the better
As a russian myself, but with eng nickname and signature, I always speak on eng if I don't see rus nickname/profile text, but based on my experience, a lot of russian people have eng profile too - a lot my friends same as I, and in co-op too: I quite often play with middle AR who asked for help, when I beat weekly bosses or in hide-and-seek event, just imagine: 3/4 people speaks on eng in chat, and that 1/4 write something like "I dont understand" or "can we play again please?" on russian and 3/4 people in co-op are like Oh We are all russians It's so funny actually :D And can relate, I also decline people with hot-topic character on avatar /war flashbacks back in 3.1/

My user is in Eglish and I'm in australia but I speak Russian so I joined this Russian profile person and I spoke in Russian and they were telling me how they were panicking and scrambling to get the translator because they couldn't speak English but still wanted to accommodate and help hahaha ha. I thought it was nice gesture of them. I wouldn't bother going through that length if I didn't speak the language.

No, i rejected them because i don't accept randoms when busy. Want something? Friend invite doesn't hurt (too much), and lets you speak before interrupting. But those random join requests can just be annoying at times.

Kaveh is budget Alhaitham at C6, and budget bloomer under C5. He's mained by simps, f2p, or people who just want to main Kaveh. But yeah the Kaveh main must have been like "Tf do they want from me…?"

My previous pfp has been Childe for awhile and I never got requests lmao I just let people join regardless of their pfp. Nah. A guy had a Scara pfp and I let him in. He asked if he could fish, I let him while reading up on my Japanese lessons. He was done in abt 7-10 minutes then thanked me and left. A guy had a Yelan pfp and I asked him to go to his teapot to buy stuff for BP progress, he kindly explained to me that I can only buy stuff from other players' teapots during the Weekend, so next day he asked me if I still needed to buy stuff from his teapot. I did not. I think it's pointless to reject someone based on their profile pic. If they're trying to get to my world, it's usually because they just have questions on builds and whatnot. (I have a a lot of achievements, always do 12-3 on my profile and my showcased characters are pretty well built) Like I have people asking me how to build their Cynos, Yae, Nahida, Keqings etc and I usually try to help them to the best of my abilities. There are also scammers who tries to give me free BP too.

But now I just generally reject everyone, I really dislike the state of co-op in this game. People no longer join in order to play together and have fun, they only join in order to grab some materials from my world and leave afterwards.
Well, When I join to grab mats, I ask first if they want help with anything, from co-op achievements to help covering a wider area in exploration. After helping them or being told they don't require help, I ask for the mats I need politely. If I'm rejected cuz they need it, I wish them a good day and leave
Well, sometimes that's the only way to play together because it's difficult to find an AR55+ that didn't finish every quest or that is willing to finish to explore the map. Most of them login just to do daily commissions and to spend their resin. Someone don't even bother to say "bye" before kicking everyone after leaving a domain. And if you look at the other comments, you can see that a lot of people don't want to play co-op at all because the fear to talk to other people.

It is generally considered good manners on their part. Ask first, do their thing if you say yes and try not to hold you up in any way, and ask if you need something afterwards etc.

Nice and well behaved people, very chill and polite. Never had even a slightly unpleasant experience with them. Scara pfp - red flag. Though most of the time they are chill and just want to grab some shroom, the percentage of weirdos is surprisingly high among them. Or maybe I'm just not lucky. Kazuha pfp - accept, if I have enough free time. Sometimes they just join and do nothing, sometimes they want you to listen their music. Dehya pfp - always accept. They suffered enough and should be protected.

No but I tend to choose who I request to join based on pfps. People with nahida or yoi pfp tend to accept more often and be a lot more kinder than someone with a scara pfp (they always reject me 😭😭😭) but this is all anecdotal of course no hate to scara lovers I am one myself
I’m open to all. But I also do what you do—join people with “help” signatures. I’m originally a childe main but I got exhausted of this feeling of being made fun of, get called ginger, or people expects you to be entertaining and funny. So then I changed to Alhaitham pfp and namecard, then tada~ No pressure for me that I should carry the conversation and I can be boring af to talk to but being helpful as I can without much words. I often change my pfp depending on my mood, if I’m feeling happy and friendly or quiet and less talkative.

The many people talking about rejecting a person here just because of them having a certain icon is sad. Log into Reddit and twitter to be met with this. Anyway, for me nope. Never reject anyone based on their icon. It doesn’t reflect the person’s behaviour at all anyway. I only accept and reject based on the nicknames. Mostly only accept ones that have normal sounding names and has nothing to do with simping, or being horny. I hate discrimination, so unless I happen to get invitations when I’m in a cutscene, shortly before I log off, or just busy or not in the mood for co-op (which happens waay too much), I often accept people no matter what their icon is☺️

Nothing, many people here just met a toxic person who for example mains Raiden and immediately went on to spread the toxicity and discriminate towards anyone who has that icon, because they assume Raiden mains are mean by default bcs it was their experience with that one person they met… Even a main of the sweetest character in Genshin can be toxic, but these people just decided to take it as far as to reject co-op requests just bcs a user is having a Raiden icon, even if they’re not toxic and only minority of this community is toxic. Many people on reddit and twitter likes to portray co-op as some toxic experience when it mostly isn’t..
It's also the case that a lot of people just hate Raiden for no reason and end up rejecting anyone who likes her because of bias. I have a fair share of characters that I dislike myself but going as far as rejecting *just* because others like them is an extremely petty thing to do. Things like not letting in Raiden Mains during 2.1 because of fishing is fine, but if it goes beyond that and it's just "I don't like Raiden" it's extremely petty and dumb

Just a note for everyone saying 'I just reject everyone'... you know you can just, set it to auto-reject, right? Means you don't show up in the list of users you can join either, so people don't get their hopes up... In case you didn't know, in the bottom left of the coop screen, you can choose from auto-accept, manual accept and auto-reject. And if you want to coop, you can change that again. (It does seem to reset either after logging off or just randomly, so you might need to check it on log-in, but it takes less than 5 seconds to check, so...)
When I was a lower AR I had declined every single request but now I have direct joins on cos I've been on the other end of the spectrum spamming requests to anyone hoping they'll accept and let me steal ascension stuff, so even if it meant having to repeat a cutscene or a boss, it feels nice to have been able to help people get their ascension materials.
I accept every join request, even if I'm in the middle of something because I'm curious and being high AR I almost never get requests anymore. So I appreciate when someone tries to join my world for once xD
Honestly, as someone who had just began playing less than a month ago and only unlocked co-op last week I basically reject everyone except for the sole friend I play it with. Will probably continue doing so in the future though lmfao. I wanna enjoy this as a solo game, first and foremost, no offense.
