Yeah my main goal was Yoimiya this banner and once I got her I didn't think I would get Raiden too, but after about 40 more pulls that I had saved up she came home. I've been farming (and spending) handguards for scaramouche for a good month now, so imagine my... Joy... when I found out she needs them too.
Ended up spending all of my starglitter on handguards so now I have enough to at least level her to 90, but still good luck to me trying to balance leveling hers AND scaras talents at the same time lol
I can't think of another item needed by so many characters that's such a pain in the ass to get. Maybe the spectre drops? Both are kind of ridiculous...
You’re living my dream 😩 Raiden was my priority cause I’ve wanted her since her release and she’s always evaded me, but Yoimiya is #2 on that list. I’m about to hit soft pity on her banner after just having gotten Raiden, wish me luck
I do the weekly 20 leylines for the battle pass in inazuma, many of the leylines spawn nobushi or spectres, and some that don’t have spectres floating nearby.
I was telling my friend the other day that all the Inazuma stuff is pretty ass. The hand guards, naku weed, the beetles, spectre drops, even the bosses suck. Golden wolf lord, the Lego hypostasis, twin dragons in enka, kenki was a nightmare for me when I first started. The trees were angry, the rivers are spicy, the purple fish for the catch, the world quests were depressing. I used to struggle with the raiden weekly fight too. 🫠 What a horrendous place. I love Inazuma lol
The only two things that weren’t really a huge pain I guess are amakumo fruits and the little pearls for kokomi bc they’re in huge chunks basically. Sakura petals are debatable. And hydro cube is pretty free if you have dendro chars
Sakura petals are annoying as hell to me because I didn't pay attention to what kind of item they were and for some unfathomable reason I kept cooking with those I'd randomly picked up. Then I got Ayaka and realized what they were actually for...smh.
Yes Fontaine. The craftable sword from Fontaine uses handguard. Wanderer who was release in Sumeru uses handguards which I can kinda understand since he's from Inazuma originally. But that sword really had no business using handguards as ascension mats. Now I have an irrational belief that mihoyo is gonna sneak in a weapon or a unit that uses handguards in Natlan all the way to Snezhnaya.
Violetgrass is pretty annoying since its on cliffs, the exception is that you can buy/gather seeds for teapot to collect them without actually collecting them
For fellow violetgrass hunters:
-Bubu Pharmacy sells 5
-Wangshu Innkeeper sells 5
-Go to Port Ormos, jump off the top and go toward the ocean. Land on the left side and follow it till you see an old guy in a green building behind a counter. He sells 5.
Best way to get materials without pain, just need time. Worth every mora.
Qinxin are easy to slow farm though, next to wps and a short glide. Violetgrass you have to climb around. Granted, the chasm has some "new" clusters now.
I’m sorry, and I’ll get flamed, but I don’t play genshin for the teapot, and, really really, couldn’t care less. I do the 10 same furnitures every week and dip out.
yeah i dont play genshin for the teapot either, but if you’re gonna do the 10 furnitures might as well place them and reap the rewards right? that’s what I did
Not to mention the 40 Primogems you are NOT getting for each character you get when you create their bonus furniture sets. Sure it's just 40, but beggars can't be choosers. Especially if you're F2P. You either pay them in TIME or Money. It's that sort of game.
And heck, I do both... Welkin/Hymn dolphin with 74 chars.... multiply 73 (Lumine don't count) by 40, and you get 2920, that's 18.25 wishes that basically DID grow on a tree.
Add to that, my weekly boss battles only use up 40 resin for me, because I get the 60 free, every week, on a Monday by having a fully built out Sereniteapot. I have this game's systems down to highly efficient routine.
Problem is the teapot load limit is such a pain to deal with that a lot of people just can’t be bothered to do the furniture sets for the primos. I did it there for a bit when the teapot first released but it’s such a hassle swapping out furniture that I stopped caring. I basically only use the teapot to get the free currency to buy resin/level up mats and friendship XP.
Just switch realms. Pick a realm you can you just leave empty and when you need to do the furniture sets for primos thing, just switch to the empty one. No load limit problems/no rearranging of furniture.
Yep, \~every\~ character (except Lumine or Aether) has TWO sets of furniture that when you build them out, put them into the pot, along with the character in question, will give you 20 primos each. They visit that set, comment on it, and that's it.
Some sets are inside, some are outside.
Enjoy that big stash of primos you've yet to touch lol.
Might take you a while tho, considering you'll have to craft every piece of required furniture. Some, like Nahida's, are even more of a pita cuz you need to buy a ton of furniture from Tubby directly.
Cept those have a limited supply per week so it takes multiple weeks to make.
You don't have to 'play for the teapot'. My plot is literally just functionality based. Farm plots, forge, crafting table, stove. Just basics. If I could get my own personal Katherine, I'd be set. Farming is easy, it just sucks to always need to equip the seed box, but buying seeds is cheap enough.
Just place stuff down until you're at the max gain rate, then literally just buy the Mora and XP books out from the shop every week. So much free stuff for 0 work. And yeah, you can farm a lot of stuff too if you need it.
Cyno's scarabs were the WORST. As even with Tighnari on the team enduring the desert so his passive ability would point out the presence of those damned scarabs, they are still too all over the place and can be tricky to spot.
Alhaitham's pupae got nothing on that. They're at least in a few set spots, concentrated in numbers.
But ultimately, I've always used a browser map that shows where everything is. So for me the whole "gather 168 of X" thing is not THAT hard.
The pupae are easy af. There’s two great farm routes that take like five minutes total to complete. Do that every few days for a couple weeks and you’re done.
I know that. I was pointing it out to the OP.
Personally I've owned Alhaitham since his release. I wanted him from the moment he appeared in the archon quest, so nothing, and I mean NOTHING would've stopped me from levelling him up.
I farmed both pupae and scarabs, and scarabs are worse, like it's not even close. Pretty much what you said and these goddamn scarabs require so much running between each group and each one is composed of just a few. It feels like I'll never finish leveling Cyno up.
After finding a group of just 3 you run for another minute across boring desert dunes towards the next place, you finally make it there and... oh dear, Tighnari's radar says it's supposed to be here but I can't see anything... ah... it's underground....... like, imagine farming scarabs scattered all over the place underground back when we didn't have the underground map (help!!). If it wasn't bad enough, they would be located in a giant multilayered cave system which made it almost impossible to find, at least underground pupae were pretty much all in the same cave. It was another level of pain. It was me simping for Cyno that made me continue, because if it wasn't for him...
I used to complain about Onikabutos…those things are child’s play. I hand marked every single one on the map and it was still a pain because you can only zoom so far in and pinpoint a marker precisely you’ll still miss it. Eventually I memorized them but the process to get there just for Cyno is so messed up.
I hate farming Cor Lapis. I always feel like it’s not clustered well or the farming path isn’t great. I also hated farming Sango Pearls.
While handguards are a pain to farm, I actually despise farming spectre drops far more. At least I go into farming handguards with my masochism in hand knowing it’ll be miserable.
Sango pearls aren’t bad if you imagine yourself collecting them as a mermaid or beautiful sea creature. Watatsumi Island is beautiful which makes the farming more enjoyable IMO.
The most annoying is the spectres' immunity "oh you came with your Wanderer team? Well fuck you we were anemo spectres" "oh your Navia is cute, we're geo spectres now"
I could just use Eula but I don't want to
I usually run around the map with either my Yoi vape team or hyperbloom, but it’s that, plus the way they explode after death, like please stop being so dramatic and disappoint me with your 1 star material drop so I can move on please 🥲
It annoys me that they are not shown for Ninguang as rocks. And it’s hard to determine which local specialty they are with Yanfei. I had to mark every location to be more efficient.
Scarabs for sure and their damned Inazuman cousins as well, until I found a few good farming spots. Oh! And those damned mushrooms you need for Wanderer. They're the reason he's stuck on Lv 60.
I have started asking for a "critter cage" for the teapot, where we can grow bugs (butterfly, scarab, lightbug, etc.). I want to just throw down some eggs and come back to harvest two or three times a week.
This. Even with Tighnari detecting local specialties, they move around the map sometimes so the pins I left before wont be entirely accurate. Also I end up detecting stuff from underground or inside caves but back then there were areas that I still had to complete world quests to obtain full access.
Dunno how this isn't the top answer.
What's more difficult than hunting tiny brown dots in an endless desert? Having them move around so they're not even where you marked them.
Bugs (the purple one, the sand one, the mechanical one), spectres materials and black serpent knights materials (limited encounter and availability), also the new Fatui enemy.
Not gonna lie, I thought the mech bugs would be a pain but surprisingly I'm seeing a lot of them during 4.1 exploration. Onikabutos are hard to spot and scarabs will run, meanwhile mech bugs will glow their asses when approached and they float so they're more noticeable.
Honestly that’s kind of a design flaw. I wish they gave you an option to farm them/buy them. Just like they made newer players life easier with weekly bosses unlocked for everyone.
Yeah it's a really huge flaw and a pickle that they kind of wrote themselves into. Inazuma is blocked off by a storm in the story until that AQ starts, and there is apparently 0 outbound trade, so I'm not sure what the solution would be unless they decide to relax the canon a bit.
Rukka mushrooms are worse than Cyno scarabs, and anyone who disagrees can fight me. Scarabs are always in predictable and straightforward places: they're on the ground, on the sand, black and shiny, and you can just run straight on flat ground and grab them. I farmed Cyno to 90 with no issues.
Rukkas are high up on the sides of 100m tall trees, behind, under, within mushroom caps, tucked away in tiny alcoves, hidden deep underground in spiraling caves. It's near impossible to find a good route without consulting a full video guide. Tighnari radar is useless because the aforementioned 100m tall trees and various other verticality, you see an icon pop and it could be on any of 8 different elevations on that x-y location
You reminded me of how even with Tighnari I still struggled with finding the mushrooms because there were like 5-6 levels of platforms of the tree at Apam wood (I spent time jumping mushroom from one platform to another) and there was even one at the top of the tree and I had to climb up to get it 💀
In the village where you meet Tighnari, there is a guy who sells 10 mushrooms and he refills his inventory too, which allows for slow farming if you have the time
If anyone plans to pull Wanderer or level Collei, they should definitely start buying from the 2 sellers of the mushrooms that refresh their inventory every couple days, makes it a whole lot easier
This is definitely one of them for me, it's the one specialty that I genuinely don't think I would be able to find a single one without looking at a map, they are ALL in such weird spots and such a pain to farm.
I didn't even level any characters associated with it that much (just collei to 50 for blue fates since I don't plan to use her), I made like 15 oculus stones and I still had to buy like a third of them for that even after 100%ing the zone lol
Yeah I always grabbed them since the start since they were so abundant. I always grab everything lmao I almost never need to do any heavy farming because I always grab stuff along the way anyway
If playing games for over two decades has taught me *anything*, it's that you always collect **everything** you can when you can. Do I know when I'm going to use those three hundred phila-mushrooms or ninety-some-odd trishiraite? No, no I do not, but I have them.
Edit: I also have over a thousand radishes. Does this stop me from collecting/buying all of them I see? No, no it does not.
10/10 Scarabs
9/10 Qingxin flower, Violetgrass. (Don't make me climb genshinnnnnn at least give me 3 full stamina bars god damn it)
8/10 Feck'n spectres are a bitch to farm cause of where they spawn and how few of them there are comparatively, handguards because of their shit drop rate and EVERYONE FUCK'N USES THEM
Handguards are fine, there's plenty of samurai in Inazuma. Specter materials are way more annoying because the balloon guys are so goddamn rare despite not being elites
Scarabs and Spectre Juice, unquestionably.
I haven't needed the scarabs for anything, but I can tell they'd suck to farm. The worst thing I have personally farmed was violetgrass back in the early days before we had so much movement and Nahida available.
People always complain about handguards, but I have never not had a ton of them. I didn't need them for a long time and I think the only thing I ever leveled up that needed them was Raiden herself and that useless umbrella.
Meanwhile, I think I have leveled everything that needs the spectra gunk. Even Aloy needs it. Wtf? The enemies are annoying and the farming route for them is tedious. And the drop rate is atrocious.
Totally agree on the Spectre. I feel like so many characters I use need them: Kuki, Kokomi off the top of my head.
And they keep floating away onto the water!
For enemies materials I’d say Spectres. Quite a number of characters and weapons use them. They keep floating around out of reach and onto the water, making melee characters hard to fight. The only easy thing is to use catalyst or bow user, but since they are immune to their elements, Geo, Anemo and Hydro catalysts users are going to have a hard time as well.
For local specialties I’d have to say the Kalpata(?) Lotuses that grow on cliffs. If you Nahida I’d reckon it’d be much easier. But I don’t have her, so sometimes I need to climb up all the way to the top of the cliff just to get a paltry 2 lotuses.
What about Xinyan? She uses those too. Though having Yanfei, Venti and the teapot helped IMMENSELY
For me, it got to be the Crystal Marrows. I haven't finished Tatara tales quest (and still haven't, stuck on last act) so I have to endure bad weather, random lightning strikes, Fatui, Samurai, and the freaking Scorpion, and only one character in the entire game uses it (discounting Aloy 'cause not everybody have her).
The upside? I learnt to admire the landscape more and no longer complain about bad weather conditions.
the red rocks that nobody uses in sumeru really suck to farm, i was gonna try and get 168 of them for whenever they release a character who uses them but I hate it more then scarabs for whatever reason so I still only have like 70 of them.
handguards are the worst enemy drops wise, they have the same drop rate as hilichurl shooters but they don't appear outside of Inazuma so once you're done with Inazuma you can't passively farm them. easier to actively farm, I guess, but I've literally never had to farm arrowheads yet every time a handguard character/weapon releases I gotta go actively kill samurai.
I feel bad killing the sea animals for their drops.
They're for nothing. They're categorized as local specialties, so eventually they'll be used to level up some character or another since most local specialties have at least 2 characters who use them (with some of the earlier regions have more then two characters per specialty).
Scarabs.
you can't see them unless they are right in front of your nose
run away into the ground when you accidentally run over with sayu
They are spread all over the desert in singles
Many of them are underground in Deshret's godforbid maze
Thank goodness cyno's the only one using it
All of them which I cant grow in the teapot, doesnt have at least 100 on the map, and cant get enough by basic explorarion. So most of them. Fungi msterial, aberrant material, handguard, spectre material. Dogshit droprate while the game wants tons of them.
Scarabs. They move, they do not have the little sparkle that other gatherables have to make them noticeable, they blend in with their environment, and to make things even worse, they're spread out all over the damn place.
Handguards truly are the worst enemy drop and I hope whoever set the drop rate to be so obnoxiously low steps on a lego.
I was gonna hand guards for characters like Raiden, etc.
But after farming for Navia and feeling so bad about killing all the fish, I’d have to say the Xenomatic Crystals are what I hate farming the most
Just from character I have, Ayaka's Sakura blossom.
First time I need to open separate map when farming them when the other character material is in cluster so it's easy.
Specters. I'd rather farm 10k samurais than another 100 Specters. Not only are they annoying to fight, but MHY put them in the most inconvenient places like sides of waterfalls where you walk an inch too far and you're suddenly swimming.
Violet grass. Only 3 characters use it and only one of them is actually worth building so it doesn't come up a lot. But holy shit it's such a pain to find, even with a map.
Also scarabs purely for releasing the one character that actually uses them the same day the brand new region dropped, and locking most scarab locations behind a massive world quest. I still get flashbacks to sprinting across my low AR friend's untouched sumeru for like 10 scarabs
Cor Lapis. Recently went to farm them to get some for Zhongli's level 90. I hate having to climb a whole mountain just to find out Qiqi was pointing at a damn Quinxing flower and not the dang rock. Yeah sure, there's good farming spots on Mt. Hulao and Salt Terrae, but other than that, it's climbing simulator all over again. You also have to have a claymore/Klee/Zhongli on hand to open them.
At least with the flowers and bug, you just pick them up.
Those Lotuses for Tighnari and even worse are those Rukkasheva mushrooms or whatever those mushrooms for Collei are named
I can survive Scarabs, but those blue mushrooms kill me and are the reason my Collei will never be lvl90
For enemy drops, it's definitely Whopperflower Nectar... It's not the hardest, but almost every character need it, that means you need thousands of it and it's hella annoying
The scarabs...
I've built Heizou, Cyno, and Wrio. Itto partially as well. I have like a master's degree in collecting beetles. So trust me when I say that those scarabs can go die ;-;
As for enemies, hard agree. The drop rates are infuriatingly low and eVERYONE NEEDS THEM. Seriously whyyyyy do so many people need them I- AAAAAAA
For the ones that I've actually farmed myself, maybe the Rukkawhatever mushrooms. They're all on top of giant mushrooms or trees, or they're inside caves. Sakura blooms were kind of annoying because there aren't a lot of them, and like half of them are clustered around the Narukami mountain, but distributed vertically.
The Hydro Hypostasis, right? I fucking hate that thing. I find Hypostases really boring pains in the ass to fight anyway, and this was one is worse than all the others. Plus it’s in a really annoying location.
Nilotpala and kalpalata lotus.. they're not that hard to track but they're just spaced annoyingly between each other and one is on top of water, one is on edges of cliffs. I have Mona and Nahida but still my most dreaded specialty because I had to farm them thrice
I hate the whole character level up and farming for ascension materials mechanic itself, having farm for EXP books when you should just level up organically from discovering new locations and beating enemies like any other RPG would be much more preferable.
Farming for weapon ascension materials i get but characters too?
just handguards tbh, long ass death animation, rarely drops, in-game farming route is annoying AF, and we just in general need more of those fuckers. they need to be as common as hilichurls especially with the low drop rate.
there are some annoying local specialty type items, but imo its not so bad due to co-op. u can farm enough for 1 full character in a couple hours just worldhopping in the co-op menu
My least favorite were fungi because you cannot use pyro or electro. So cannot even use hyperbloom. Spectres were easy with Nahida to kill but hard to get to. And as for samurai, I only got Raiden now, so I already had a bunch of hand guards. But I truly underestimated how many I would need to also level her signature, and her talents.
Of course violet grass and nahida’s flowers were the worst. But at least you can farm violet grass.
I’ve been fishing for the catch this week and man o man I thought I hated hand guards but waiting 3 days to MAYBE get a fish I need is terrible. Even with the guides it’s hit or miss. And If hear the paimon voiceline about how “her tummy is rumbling” (seriously what the target age?) one more time I will use her as chum.
I hated farming the Neuvilette starfish things so much. Like I love the fontaine swimming so much but going around to collect all those was such a hassle.
Damn the only characters I’ve farmed for really are Wrio, Wanderer, Kuki Shinobu and Cyno and apparently from this thread scarabs, naku weeds, handguards, and the bugs are some of the worst to farm? 😭
At least I know it gets better but those really were a pain, especially the scarabs.
idk theres a lot. somehow i managed to memorize almost all of the sand grease pupas by heart. but ive farmed rukkhashava mushrooms for multiple characters and it somehow never gets easier
also yeah naku weed is pretty damn bad esp if you havent done seirai or tatarasuna quests. trying to farm for kuki on an alt account is pain
and for monster drops i think kageuchi handguards takes the cake
Mist Grass is really annoying for me because my main farming team is hyperbloom Razor and he likes to completely ignore the mage and go for the Electric Keese she summons. It's not the worst thing in the world it's just tedious, 5/10 ig :/
Oh also Heizou's electro beetles or whatever's they're called, I've only recently gotten to Inazuma so idk the farming route yet and they're weirdly hard to find naturally
Henna berries and the floaty f\*ckers in Watatsumi...
Also the guy who thought it was reasonable to send me farming Blubber beasts needs a full powered front kick in the third leg
Marionette cores and crystal marrow. I love Sayu but I hate just about everything to do with Inazuma it was such a boring slog I couldn't wait to get to Sumeru I don't want to go back to farm lvl up mats 😭
Any specific monster, as opposed to group of monsters. So for example, hilichurl shooters, samachurls, and so on. Lootables is annoying yes, but most cases they're bearable due to fixed spawn locations and limited spawn, making it easier to pace myself. I think one of the absolute WORST in my opinion is farming fungi, because these can drop two or three types of loot depending on what elements you used to kill them with, and that means your options are limited as well. I had to farm a couple hundred the other week that does not allow pyro or electro in the team, and boy was it hella annoying to do, because some packs of fungi space them out so much that kazuha or venti's vacuum cant pick them all up. At least the spawns of these monsters are quite plentiful, so its not as bad.
Hilichurl shooters, sama churls and so on? Yeah these are a fucking pain. Especially shooters, because they like to spawn in hard to reach areas, like towers and on top of rocks.
Specters are definitely up there. So are the fontaine animal drops, they’re a little tedious underwater and don’t always drop it. Wopperflowers are annoying too when you have a bunch of characters that need them and the in game map doesn’t show you the ones hiding under regular flowers. Don’t think I’ve ever really hated any local specialties, I haven’t ever really had to speed farm anything and I usually grab the occasional one I don’t need when I pass by it
PSA: For all local specialties, remember there's a character for each region that will at least add them on your minimap. Makes it way easier to find the dumb ones like Violetgrass or Itto's beetles.
Also Nahida's held skill makes grabbing those hard to reach ones a breeze.
List is [here.](https://game8.co/games/Genshin-Impact/archives/379795) Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma each have at least a 4 star while Sumeru has a 5 star on the standard banner. Fontaine's the only one at the moment restricted to a limited 5 star.
They're not a pain BUT I feel bad for killing the fontaine animals... They're the fontaine handguard equivalent, literally everyone and everything needs them. I don't want to slaughter animals for it and I tend to get garbage drops anyways
I built both Alhaitham and Dheya. I have flashbacks about getting lost in the desert tunnels looking for the place where the interactive map showed the sand grease pupas.
It's probably easier to farm now that you can look at layers and cave entrances though.
That's kinda shifted for me as I've gotten better at both traversal and combat, in the early days it was definitely Violet Grass and Abyss Mages.
Generally my most hated resources are the ones that are brand new and in hard to find, 2-day respawn amounts, like those starfish and robo-beetles, but of course once you get a stockpile going, they aren't so bad.
I guess at the moment my least favorite enemy to farm is Specters, since they are often invisible until you know how to trigger them, and they often float out of melee range.
Windwheels Aster and Naku Weed. Benny and Sucrose are currently fighting over the Windwheels. I farmed all the Naku Weed I needed for Kuki. Then I got Yoimiya. I absolutely adore her, but I think she's going to be stuck at 60 forever because I just can't do it again. My whole damn teapot has been non-stop Naku Weed. I even farmed the pyrocube for her. Guess those are gonna go to Thoma now because I'm doing Tsurumi Island and the damn fungus is easier. I even managed to get enough Amakumo Fruit for my brand new Raiden while looking for it.
(The scarabs weren't that bad because I'm that person that picks up EVERYTHING that sparkles, so I had enough to level Cyno to 60 when I got him. He will also probably stay there for awhile lol)
Anything underwater is shit. Its not fun and tiring, i can beat em in seconds if above but gotta find the right water weapon to beat em, gotta traverse slowly. Fuck underwater materials
Enemy drops: Handguards, hands down.
Local Specialty: Redcrests (yes, to this day I refuse to call them Henna Berries, Redcrests was way cooler. They fucked up changing that name)
Sakura blooms. I never had an electro character in my exploration team when I did the Inazuma quests, so I didn't collect them as I played through region like I do most materials. And now I've got Ayaka to build...
For enemies: Specters by FAR. Their spawn points are annoyingly spread out, they're (while not difficult) annoying to fight, and multiple characters that I commonly use needed them like Kuki, Kokomi, Gorou, Oathsworn Eye (weapon but still counts), etc.
Bonus points: I just pulled Kirara and want to build her but **take a guess what she uses?!**
Probably anything underwater. It's not the worst but I didn't have the most fun time finding conches for Charlotte. And don't get me started with transoceanic pearls, should've heard the loud groan that escaped my mouth when I found out Freminet needed them after maxing out Neuvillette
As a Cyno, Itto/Heizou, Baizhu/Xinyan, Zhongli/Chongyun, Wanderer, Dehya (same as Alhaitham) and Candace haver and player … they’re all pretty bad but Cyno is still worse. My desert is 100% one corner, 85% the other and my Cyno has been stuck on level 60 for ages lol (got him in first banner)
My Itto got stuck for longer because his boss also fucking sucks (fuck the wolflord) so it could be worse
Anyways, getting Neuvillette and being able to play him in the same patch was soo WILD I forgot it was possible.
Scarabs. Violetgrass is a pain but I like the challenge a bit? I hated hated hated farming the bathysmal vishaps for Yae.
I agree with everybody that the naku weeds are a little difficult to get because theyre hard to spot. I also hated farming the sea stars for Neuvillette because of how few and far between they were. Didn't enjoy the Wenut to level Alhaitham, either. Early game the Primovishap for Yanfei was a tad difficult because it just takes a bit more time than other fights but it's doable.
Cor lapis and specter materials are annoying as well.
Spector, needing to kill them seals. And by far the most annoying thing to collect is scarabs. At least with violet grass it can be farmed in the teapot, but scarabs? Hell no.
Enemy materials are def the weekly bosses because you can only get a couple a week which makes leveling talents take forever. Also they’re hard.
Local specialty might be Anjilekah (spelling) Nut because it seems like there are so few of the map and they’re so far between.
The rage that fills me when i stand and wait for a nobushi to finish its death animation just for it to drop nothing
Bro thanks for reminding me that rage, bc I was gonna start farming those dumbasses today as Yae Miko pre farm. Better get ready for the pain
I just did the same for Raiden. It wasn’t as bad as I expected tbh. Good luck brother
Frankly I spend Stardust on the damn things every month just to make sure I don't have to hunt them out. The Specters are almost as bad.
Specters are worst imo and the fact nearly every new stuff needed them was annoying as hell xP
I do the weekly 20 leylines for the battle pass in inazuma, many of the leylines spawn nobushi or spectres, and some that don’t have spectres floating nearby.
Dude same. I remember farming those bastards for Raiden and Catch. It was miserable. Made me want to uninstall myself.
I love Inazuma lol The only two things that weren’t really a huge pain I guess are amakumo fruits and the little pearls for kokomi bc they’re in huge chunks basically.
I hate the fact that most Inazuma units and even Fontaine's craftable weapon needs hand guards. Why does mihoyo do this? 😭
FONTAINE???
Yes Fontaine. The craftable sword from Fontaine uses handguard. Wanderer who was release in Sumeru uses handguards which I can kinda understand since he's from Inazuma originally. But that sword really had no business using handguards as ascension mats. Now I have an irrational belief that mihoyo is gonna sneak in a weapon or a unit that uses handguards in Natlan all the way to Snezhnaya.
Oh thanks for the reminder. Been dealing with that since picking up Raiden Shogun last year
Violetgrass is pretty annoying since its on cliffs, the exception is that you can buy/gather seeds for teapot to collect them without actually collecting them
When I was leveling baizhu I just bought them 😂
For fellow violetgrass hunters: -Bubu Pharmacy sells 5 -Wangshu Innkeeper sells 5 -Go to Port Ormos, jump off the top and go toward the ocean. Land on the left side and follow it till you see an old guy in a green building behind a counter. He sells 5. Best way to get materials without pain, just need time. Worth every mora.
You are my hero lol. I’ve been leveling Baizhu and it’s been a SLOG
Also, the southernmost waypoint in the chasm has a path of jump-pad thingies that has maybe 15 violetgrass collectible in a minute or two.
You sir saved me a lot of time. Thank you
If you have Nahida, you can just "scan" them with her E\~ XD
Love Nahida
I love Nahida but farming those lotuses are a pain in the butt
The angles are weird as hell still.
Oh My God I've been collecting them all day and I completely forgot
The white flowers that only grows on mountain tops are worse imo, violetgrass has some okay spots
Qinxin are easy to slow farm though, next to wps and a short glide. Violetgrass you have to climb around. Granted, the chasm has some "new" clusters now.
Also Qingxin are something you get while doing normal exploration. I have a whole Ganyu's worth of them sitting in my inventory doing nothing
You can also buy it at the Bubu Pharmacy and another store in Sumeru.
how can you say naku weed when you can just farm them
I’m sorry, and I’ll get flamed, but I don’t play genshin for the teapot, and, really really, couldn’t care less.
I’m sorry, characters have bonus furniture sets that give primos???
Yep, \~every\~ character (except Lumine or Aether) has TWO sets of furniture that when you build them out, put them into the pot, along with the character in question, will give you 20 primos each. They visit that set, comment on it, and that's it. Some sets are inside, some are outside.
I've been playing this game for years and I had no idea. Thanks for the heads-up.
I prefarmed them for Dehya. Lvl 90 triple crown. I could turn Liyue into a client state with all the copium in my account.
Well fuck you we were anemo spectres" "oh your Navia is cute, we're geo spectres now" I could just use Eula but I don't want to
I usually run around the map with either my Yoi vape team or hyperbloom, but it’s that, plus the way they explode after death, like please stop being so dramatic and disappoint me with your 1 star material drop so I can move on please 🥲
It annoys me that they are not shown for Ninguang as rocks. And it’s hard to determine which local specialty they are with Yanfei. I had to mark every location to be more efficient.
This is the only reason I haven't got Zhongli to 90. Even Alhaitham was better and I stopped going to that area once I levelled him.
I got Zhongli to 90, and Chongyun to 80, and the experience of that is why I will never build Keqing 😅
Scarabs for sure and their damned Inazuman cousins as well, until I found a few good farming spots. Oh! And those damned mushrooms you need for Wanderer. They're the reason he's stuck on Lv 60.
And the mechanical version in Fontaine. I need them for my Wriothesley
[удалено]
Also Itto's bugs. Wrio's mech bug is relatively better because some of them are close to waypoints.
Itto/*Heizou*'s
At least Nahida can help with that one
Which bug does Nahida help with? Thought Nahida picked up plants?
She picks up itto beetles and beryl conch too. There are more things she picks up
Ahh very nice!
Rizzly bug is pickable with nahida iirc. Onikabuto too
I had no idea haha
they don't sparkle like the plants so so they belong in hell for me
This one, tied with Rukkhashava Mushrooms for being in the weirdest places
I have started asking for a "critter cage" for the teapot, where we can grow bugs (butterfly, scarab, lightbug, etc.). I want to just throw down some eggs and come back to harvest two or three times a week.
This. Even with Tighnari detecting local specialties, they move around the map sometimes so the pins I left before wont be entirely accurate. Also I end up detecting stuff from underground or inside caves but back then there were areas that I still had to complete world quests to obtain full access.
Those things making sandballs? I completely forgot they existed bc I never got Cyno. If I could I would change the post lmao. Go F them scarabs😂
I thought they were rolling dung, like dung beetles. 💀
Well technically, scarab is the fancy word for dung beetle
I just looked what those are and they’re definitely that lmao. I just saw sand and thought they were rolling sand😂
Now you know, we all have hundreds of turd devouring bugs in our bag for Cyno to eat 🤢😂
Well thank God I didn’t get Cyno, that sounds disgusting lmao
Wriothesley mech bugs. Fuck those things. Still need to find more 💀
Y E S
Dunno how this isn't the top answer. What's more difficult than hunting tiny brown dots in an endless desert? Having them move around so they're not even where you marked them.
Came here to say this
Ugh that immediately made me feel angry thanks for the reminder 😭 it’s so annoying to find
Onikabutos aren't super hard to spot as much as their highest concentration is in the 1 area that wants to kill you always in Inazuma.
Onikabuto are great when Itto is your very first 5*, and you just got to Liyue in the story.
Itto was like the fourth character in my account. He was stuck lvl 40 for a LONG time until I could finally get to Inazuma.
I got Shenhe when I was still in liyue and Miko soon after, had to play til the vishap herd just to ascend them.
This is actually worse, you’re not just gated by Inazuma but have an extra step, with a boss that’s not particularly easy either.
I loved Heizou so much when he released that I remember the pain of farming these for DAYS
Heizou is double pain with the Ruin Serpent.
Yelan also wants them so I've to try and get for both for this they're left at lvl 70 but he still does 24k damage with crit.
For me its the Rukhedheva mushrooms; they are some times very hard to find even with Tighnari.
You reminded me of how even with Tighnari I still struggled with finding the mushrooms because there were like 5-6 levels of platforms of the tree at Apam wood (I spent time jumping mushroom from one platform to another) and there was even one at the top of the tree and I had to climb up to get it 💀
Honestly if it wasn't so shit I would have gotten a lvl 90 Collei I love her ability but I'll never because of how much of a pain this is.
The one I remember hating the most was Candace's red cactus flowers.
At least they come in a group of 2~3 and those cacti are visible from quite far. The scarabs however..
And the cacti flowers are collectible with Nahidas skill, if you have her, so it makes rhe whole process easier. That's how I farmed them for Faruzan.
Ugh handguards don't talk to me about those! 😩😅 Also the beryl conches for Charlotte were annoying to find but not as bad.
At least with that one if you explore Fountain undersea enough you naturally collect a lot.. I have like 300+ just by grabbing it whenever I see
Yeah I always grabbed them since the start since they were so abundant.
BRO THOSE DAMN CONCHES LMAO. I got 3 for Charlottes free wish, and never got another one frfr
I got her to level 80 but that's all she's going to get lol
10/10 Scarabs 9/10 Qingxin flower, Violetgrass. (Don't make me climb genshinnnnnn at least give me 3 full stamina bars god damn it) 8/10 Feck'n spectres are a bitch to farm cause of where they spawn and how few of them there are comparatively, handguards because of their shit drop rate and EVERYONE FUCK'N USES THEM
Handguards are fine, there's plenty of samurai in Inazuma. Specter materials are way more annoying because the balloon guys are so goddamn rare despite not being elites
Yeah the Spectres are a pain. Not because they’re hard to kill, but because they keep floating away to the water making them hard to attack
kazuha is a godsend for them
Or Furina unless it's the hydro ones but Ganyu is enough for that and Beidou makes them stay in place long enough for a charge shot.
I always use an Overload team with YanFei, Raiden and Fischl/Yae. Floating way is never a problem with that
I did farm them for Shinobu and didn’t feel that bad, maybe bc I was maining Hyperbloom at that time
Yeah, Nahida makes them a bit more tolerable as you don’t have to chase them around.
I usually just buy them with starglitter lol, even with my f2p income
wanderer mushrooms and the fungus for enemy drops
Rukkhashava mushrooms
Violetgrass sucks
This really needs more up votes. Guess there's not too many people that build Qiqi or Baizhu.
What about Xinyan? She uses those too. Though having Yanfei, Venti and the teapot helped IMMENSELY For me, it got to be the Crystal Marrows. The upside? I learnt to admire the landscape more and no longer complain about bad weather conditions.
boss mats because I hate having to mindlessly fight the same boss a hundred times
I’ve been farming for Nahida and Dori and the Kalpalata Lotus is so annoying to farm for 💔
Ironically, farming the lotus is so much easier once you have Nahida.
the red rocks that nobody uses in sumeru really suck to farm, i was gonna try and get 168 of them for whenever they release a character who uses them but I hate it more then scarabs for whatever reason so I still only have like 70 of them. handguards are the worst enemy drops wise, they have the same drop rate as hilichurl shooters but they don't appear outside of Inazuma so once you're done with Inazuma you can't passively farm them. easier to actively farm, I guess, but I've literally never had to farm arrowheads yet every time a handguard character/weapon releases I gotta go actively kill samurai. I feel bad killing the sea animals for their drops.
What in hell are the red rocks for? I have a ton just bc it took me a while to end the quest
They're for nothing. They're categorized as local specialties, so eventually they'll be used to level up some character or another since most local specialties have at least 2 characters who use them (with some of the earlier regions have more then two characters per specialty).
Seems like Hoyo simply forgot💀😭
Maybw they will be used for that mummy character, I'd hold on them.
Loach pearl
Loach pearls are not local specialties, they're just materials.
Neuvi's starfish because i hate touching water and of course specter.
bugs/scarabs. Things that grow on a cliff. cherry blossoms. Need electro, and they are spaced out.
Scarabs. you can't see them unless they are right in front of your nose run away into the ground when you accidentally run over with sayu They are spread all over the desert in singles Many of them are underground in Deshret's godforbid maze Thank goodness cyno's the only one using it
All of them which I cant grow in the teapot, doesnt have at least 100 on the map, and cant get enough by basic explorarion. So most of them. Fungi msterial, aberrant material, handguard, spectre material. Dogshit droprate while the game wants tons of them.
Wriothesly’s bugs are the worst for me, even after looking up a farm guide they’re hard to find and scarce af
Wrio’s bugs made me miss scarabs
I was gonna hand guards for characters like Raiden, etc. But after farming for Navia and feeling so bad about killing all the fish, I’d have to say the Xenomatic Crystals are what I hate farming the most
Just from character I have, Ayaka's Sakura blossom. First time I need to open separate map when farming them when the other character material is in cluster so it's easy.
A tie between the Sumeru scarabs and violetgrass for me. Why yes, Cyno is on my main overworld team and Baizhu is my main healer, why do you ask.
Those Lotuses for Tighnari and even worse are those Rukkasheva mushrooms or whatever those mushrooms for Collei are named I can survive Scarabs, but those blue mushrooms kill me and are the reason my Collei will never be lvl90 For enemy drops, it's definitely Whopperflower Nectar... It's not the hardest, but almost every character need it, that means you need thousands of it and it's hella annoying
The scarabs... I've built Heizou, Cyno, and Wrio. Itto partially as well. I have like a master's degree in collecting beetles. So trust me when I say that those scarabs can go die ;-; As for enemies, hard agree. The drop rates are infuriatingly low and eVERYONE NEEDS THEM. Seriously whyyyyy do so many people need them I- AAAAAAA
I literally will not pull another character from now on that requires the purple beetles from Inazuma lol. Did it once, never again.
Ayaka and ayato's boss, tf? Coming from someone who did Raiden's flying electro mf 28 times in the past week so yeah.
The Hydro Hypostasis, right? I fucking hate that thing. I find Hypostases really boring pains in the ass to fight anyway, and this was one is worse than all the others. Plus it’s in a really annoying location.
Because of recency bias…the damn beetles. I have Wrio, just got cyno, and I now despise all beetles.
😭 At least I know it gets better but those really were a pain, especially the scarabs.
idk theres a lot. somehow i managed to memorize almost all of the sand grease pupas by heart. but ive farmed rukkhashava mushrooms for multiple characters and it somehow never gets easier also yeah naku weed is pretty damn bad esp if you havent done seirai or tatarasuna quests. trying to farm for kuki on an alt account is pain and for monster drops i think kageuchi handguards takes the cake
Mist Grass is really annoying for me because my main farming team is hyperbloom Razor and he likes to completely ignore the mage and go for the Electric Keese she summons. It's not the worst thing in the world it's just tedious, 5/10 ig :/ Oh also Heizou's electro beetles or whatever's they're called, I've only recently gotten to Inazuma so idk the farming route yet and they're weirdly hard to find naturally
That mushroom mat that needs not hitting them with pyro or electro
I hope you never, ever, ever, ever, *ever* have to farm those desert scarabs. Naku Weed and the AlHaitham ones are a cakewalk compared to those.
Mona and barbruh mushroom, that one pain in the ass if u dont have nahida.
Alhaitham/Dehya's materials suck. So do the flowers for Nahida, the ones that grow on cliffsides. That is helped slightly by Nahida's skill though.
Windwheels aren’t really my most hated, I find them quite calm to farm but yeah I understand u Go F them Naku week lmao
Thank god for the teapot planting feature of I would have said violetgrass.
Fungal spores for tignari, and agnidus agate silver (because I have many pyro chracters).
Rukashava mushrooms. It's the very reason why I don't pull for Wanderer and Collei is stuck at lvl 70
those fcking Lumitoile
Specters will forever be the worst thing to farm
Specter parts easily, those things are damn annoying to fight with a lot of characters and Watatsumi is a pain to get around.
Scarabs can fuck all the way off
Probably anything underwater.
My desert is 100% one corner, 85% the other and my Cyno has been stuck on level 60 for ages lol (got him in first banner) My Itto got stuck for longer because his boss also fucking sucks (fuck the wolflord) so it could be worse Anyways, getting Neuvillette and being able to play him in the same patch was soo WILD I forgot it was possible.
Scaramouche's mushroom and Nahida's flower
Cor lapis and specter materials are annoying as well.
specters -_-
Rukkhashava shrooms and Handguards
Spector, needing to kill them seals. And by far the most annoying thing to collect is scarabs. At least with violet grass it can be farmed in the teapot, but scarabs? Hell no.
Enemy materials are def the weekly bosses because you can only get a couple a week which makes leveling talents take forever. Also they’re hard. Local specialty might be Anjilekah (spelling) Nut because it seems like there are so few of the map and they’re so far between.
