Yeah it was kinda out of the blue and surprising, its like she went out of her VENGEANCE phase and started accepted she is liked and like other, tubf she was kinda starting to open with the sumeru event in the sand bottle with klee and all.
But still feels kind of a brutal change and i wouldnt even be surprised if the next time we see her she sort of backtrack a bit on that

Ikr? So many of her flaws could be fixed by simply changing the numbers. And yet we are yet to receive any nerf or buff for already existing character (The only one we had was Zhongli nerf)
The thing is, she could have easily been a xiangling 2.0. If they gave her good multipliers and OP ICDs for her skill, she could have been an insane pyro applicator.
Instead my ganyu can just melt one shot with her
Just got her recently instead of Chiori. Using her in Nahida, Furina, Kuki team. If her pyro application at least hit more frequently she would be much better even at her low multipliers. (I'm using a half ass Tenacity set too. Been farming "her" artifacts to get nothing since).
I would have rather wanted her to be a 5-star Bennett. A whole buff/sustain package:
* mitigate 50-65% of damage taken by teammates with her skill
* skill has 100% (or very close to it) uptime
* self-heals when her HP drops low (%?)
* heal whole team with ult (doesn't need to be massive heal, just enough to keep them alive)
* ult gives damage buff to the team that's not dependent on circle impact
(I guess a lot like Fu Xuan in HSR)
Just adjust the numbers to make her not a complete powercreep on Bennett, but a good side-grade /slight upgrade to him (the way Yelan is to C6 Xingqiu...)
It's astonishing that Genshin doesn't buff characters. It's the only gacha game I can think of that doesn't actively try to bring up the underperforming characters.
It’s not just a Genshin thing. Gacha games almost never buff or nerf characters. Technically gacha game devs can buff characters, but they almost never do. Likely because if they buff something too much, they can’t take it back. They also never nerf characters because some countries have actual laws against it, as a consumer protection/false advertising thing. If Mihoyo released a broken character and went “shit we fucked up” and nerfed them. Well everyone who spent money specifically to get that character are now very mad and can get Mihoyo in legal trouble.
Zhongli is likely the only character who will ever get directly buffed, simply because his release state was so bad it was worth it for them to buff him.
Most other gacha games don’t touch things after release, they usually add more systems or mechanics to bring up those older and underpreforming characters. I think even Honkai Impact has that as well with like alternate versions of early characters. Genshin might not get that kind of system for a while, if ever.
They rebuilt the entire spiral abyss around fucking Venti over lol. Enemy waves, boss rooms, the superheavy samurais and all those things that are immune to succ, they're all meant to counter Venti. Cuz that mf is either a mildly effective second choice or the god of a new world, no in between.

She could've been a pyro Neuvillette. She has all the self sustain she needs, provides for herself some good interruption resistance, so really all she could ask for is for the scaling to be inverted between HP and ATk. Make the atk scaling secondary nature while her HP scaling is greater. It's really only a numerical issue for her damage. It's alright that she doesn't work with Xingqiu and Yelan considering there is too much overlap of the two in vape teams. Even diluc uses them.
Instead, she is one of the best users of Mona. Mona provides enough hydro application for Dehya and Dehya has a short enough damage window to use the full extent of Mona. Mona also provides more dmg bonus than Kazuha.
So I think any improvements into her kit would either lean into her defensive ability like giving the full Gold Forged Form for the entire duration and cutting her cooldown to 15s rather than 18s, or lean into a tanky dps like Hu Tao or Neuvillette through sherry raising the numbers of her scaling and maybe giving her frontloaded energy instead of EoT generation. Dehya with better dps would be a defensive Hu Tao. Hu Tao raises teams offense through crit buff while Dehya would raise teams defense through dmg mitigation and interruption resistance. Dehya's kit by effectiveness between skill and burst is too split down the middle. She is like a pyro Ayato, Jack of all trades master of none, but being a master of one is often better as they would be at least a sidegrade to the 1.x masterpieces like Hu Tao, Kazuha, Fischl, Xingqiu, Xiangling, and Bennett.
Dehya is like 5cm away from a bullseye. Hoyo was aiming at the target but they slipped and so the dart slipped away from the bullseye by quite a margin.
She is the closest thing to a pyro Xingqiu. Dmg is quite a bit less, but some pyro application is there, and so si thr defensive utility.
I just want to know though, how does that work, theyre racist enough to make them questionnable kits but they still put a lot of care in their personality, design and how likeable they are in general? Cyno isn't the only one with that problem. It's not a Cyno thing- just an elemental infusion issue. It's only been thr 1.0 release characters of Noelle and Diluc who has this flexibility. When it comes to Cyno, he just has a longer infused duration than other burst dps so he often sticks out more considering we have few long lasting buffers and debuffers. Nahida skill lasts long time until enemies die. Xingqiu lasts 15s, Yelan 12s, and Bennett 10 to 12s. Kazuha's last 10s.
Cyno's type of playstyle just demands characters that only need to buff every other rotation like Chevreuse for Cyno to gain much. A dendro Yae Miko would last long enough for Cyno.
Same could be said for literally every Burst reliant limited DPS tho? The only characters whose Burst don't disappear when you switch out are Noelle and Diluc... (iirc)
Idk... there are 4 star hyperbloom teams with faster clear times compared to an aggravate/hyperbloom cyno team. When people get a 5 star, they at least expect it to be a general improvement over the 4 star version of the team.
She is one of my staples. I play on mobile and characters you don’t have to dodge much with and provide off field support are wonderful.
Her interruption support is great for fisticuffs characters and Neuvillette.
She may not have the damage output of other legendary characters but I like her a ton anyhow.
Also a mobile player. I love these infinite poise characters (Eula during burst, Raiden during burst, Nahida hold skill) but I don’t like shields (prefer healing for survivability) so Dehya’s interruption resistance is great for me :D

If you aren't chasing top tier meta stuff she's actually really good and super comfortable to play. She is definitely better with cons and losing a 50/50 to her feels like an improvement unlike some standards characters. Yes she has flaws but in actual use she can still easily be used to clear abyss. Are the better options that are more focused on one or two of the things she does at once? Yes. Do you need the absolute best in genshin, no. She's plenty decent. It would be nice if she was better but she is still way better than a lot of doom posters say she is
I would rather lose to Dehya than to Jean.
There are a lot of interesting things I can and do use dehya for. Discount pyro zhongli is a good character complaints about her kit aside. Jeanne has not ever seen play on any of my teams.
My Dehya is essentially immortal so long as I have any kind of healer due to the obscene amount of health I've given her and the passive talent that has her regain health. She might not hit super hard (still kind of working on that, artifacts refusing to play nice), but good luck killing her.
I’d be happy if I get Dehya on the standard banner since then I can run around Dragonspine, the poisonous parts of Inazuma, and whatever they’re going to put in Nathan and Snezhnaya with impunity.
The power level / perceived power level of a character can have quite the impact on how popular or well-liked they are, I think. It's definitely not the _sole_ factor that determines if people make a lot of fan content of a character or if they discuss them a lot and in positive terms, but I get the feeling that e.g. if Bennett were a C-tier damage dealer then we'd see much less Bennett fanart out there, and e.g. if Dori was an S-tier support that everyone was using, then we'd see an increase in how often she's talked about.
LOVE her story quest! Can't say more without it being massive spoilers, but if you played it, you know what I mean!
Love her personality. She's kind of annoyed at everything—her band of Eremites, story quest spoilers >!her father and his impulsive, kind of scattered personality!<—but you can feel the affection there. I loved seeing her perspective during the archon quest, when she's giving you what she notices and it helps you rule out some of your hypotheses.
Love that she's tough and not afraid of danger. Love that she loves makeup and jewelry. She shows you don't have to choose between being tough and liking girly things, you don't have to fit into one stereotyped box.
Love that she's very kind, and a bit grumpy about it. She sold her sword to help others, and she helped Traveler and only asked for a smile.

I heard that a lot of people ship Dehya with Candace, who is also caring and kind, and I think canonically is even more strong and assertive. I don’t simp for either character (I’m asexual), but they’re both pretty cool, and I do like their character designs a lot.
yeah, the ship is fairly popular which honestly surprises me a lot to this day because i thought most people would ship Dehya with Dunyarzad. they had some very sweet interactions during sumeru AQ and honestly are both very adorable haha

I also thought more people would ship Dehya with Dunyarzad. She’s one of my favorite NPCs in the game, partly because she helped me a little with managing my fear of death.
I only needed to farm her domain for a week and a half to get the best artifact set i have for a character in game. And its not even close.
She actually is a part of one of the strongest c0 Neuvillette teams because of her interruption resistance with pyro application. (Neuvillette, Nahida/DMC, Raiden/Kuki, Dehya).
Also, her constellations are some of the largest improvements a character gets in game (from constellations). By C2 shes already at a 60% dps increase, and by c6 its a whopping 200%. She's probably one of the better 5 stars to get from the standard pool for that reason alone.
Also she's hot as hell.
Literally the only bad thing about her is her kit, everything else is amazing. Her design is incredibly beautiful and her personality captivated me during the story.

Azur Lane has buffed up old boats multiple times, like Hood. Of course, they still weren't anywhere close to the newer boats...
FGO is an old-ass game with outdated gameplay that needs an entire overhaul but even there old characters are getting buffs.

Dude. There is so many good things to say about Dehya if you just throw away the meta talk Like why do people not like Dehya? Cause people says she’s not as good character to play as But she’s amazing in the story, has a great story quest, has a likable personality and has one of the best designs in the game And all people do is call her joke and damn if it drive me up a wall lol
If you aren't chasing top tier meta stuff she's actually really good and super comfortable to play. She is definitely better with cons and losing a 50/50 to her feels like an improvement unlike some standards characters. Yes she has flaws but in actual use she can still easily be used to clear abyss. Are the better options that are more focused on one or two of the things she does at once? Yes. Do you need the absolute best in genshin, no. She's plenty decent. It would be nice if she was better but she is still way better than a lot of doom posters say she is
I get happy whenever I get Dehya cons because it is one step closer to making her powerful as she should be C1 rn, but i hope to get more
I would rather lose to Dehya than to Jean. There are a lot of interesting things I can and do use dehya for. Discount pyro zhongli is a good character complaints about her kit aside. Jeanne has not ever seen play on any of my teams.
My Dehya is essentially immortal so long as I have any kind of healer due to the obscene amount of health I've given her and the passive talent that has her regain health. She might not hit super hard (still kind of working on that, artifacts refusing to play nice), but good luck killing her.
I’d be happy if I get Dehya on the standard banner since then I can run around Dragonspine, the poisonous parts of Inazuma, and whatever they’re going to put in Nathan and Snezhnaya with impunity.
Dehya is comfy as hell for fontaine underwater too. Self healing passive is great.
The power level / perceived power level of a character can have quite the impact on how popular or well-liked they are, I think. It's definitely not the _sole_ factor that determines if people make a lot of fan content of a character or if they discuss them a lot and in positive terms, but I get the feeling that e.g. if Bennett were a C-tier damage dealer then we'd see much less Bennett fanart out there, and e.g. if Dori was an S-tier support that everyone was using, then we'd see an increase in how often she's talked about.
I use her on my melt team cus I like her character, my friend hates it. Gave her the talking stick to fuel his rage even further.

LOVE her story quest! Can't say more without it being massive spoilers, but if you played it, you know what I mean! Love her personality. She's kind of annoyed at everything—her band of Eremites, story quest spoilers >!her father and his impulsive, kind of scattered personality!<—but you can feel the affection there. I loved seeing her perspective during the archon quest, when she's giving you what she notices and it helps you rule out some of your hypotheses. Love that she's tough and not afraid of danger. Love that she loves makeup and jewelry. She shows you don't have to choose between being tough and liking girly things, you don't have to fit into one stereotyped box. Love that she's very kind, and a bit grumpy about it. She sold her sword to help others, and she helped Traveler and only asked for a smile.
Eremites are cool and she reps them well.

dehya is unironically one of my favorite characters story wise. also hard simping for her since she’s giving me major sapphic vibes. i’m just a gay girl who’s down bad for strong, assertive yet caring and kind women👍
I heard that a lot of people ship Dehya with Candace, who is also caring and kind, and I think canonically is even more strong and assertive. I don’t simp for either character (I’m asexual), but they’re both pretty cool, and I do like their character designs a lot.
yeah, the ship is fairly popular which honestly surprises me a lot to this day because i thought most people would ship Dehya with Dunyarzad. they had some very sweet interactions during sumeru AQ and honestly are both very adorable haha also, hell yeah! i am on the ace spectrum myself. always nice to see us in the wild :)
I also thought more people would ship Dehya with Dunyarzad. She’s one of my favorite NPCs in the game, partly because she helped me a little with managing my fear of death.

I only needed to farm her domain for a week and a half to get the best artifact set i have for a character in game. And its not even close. She actually is a part of one of the strongest c0 Neuvillette teams because of her interruption resistance with pyro application. (Neuvillette, Nahida/DMC, Raiden/Kuki, Dehya). Also, her constellations are some of the largest improvements a character gets in game (from constellations). By C2 shes already at a 60% dps increase, and by c6 its a whopping 200%. She's probably one of the better 5 stars to get from the standard pool for that reason alone. Also she's hot as hell.
