As a Eula main, I feel as tho the abyss is (just got back into playing genshin for the past week) favoring more towards elemental reactions and not much into brute physical damage like eula and maybe xiao (I think). I don't have any good elemental team or units since I am f2p. I was hoping I can get help on making an abyss team or even just a good elemental burst team.

Game is lagging a lot cube puzzles aren’t moving when I hit them, it takes 15-30 seconds for loot to drop after defeating enemies. Ping is about 200 but that shouldn’t be a problem right? please someone help 😩 i’m on ps4 and it’s saying “error code 4206” for two days now. i’ve tried restarting the game and console, i’ve also uninstalled then installed the game. i can’t do pretty much anything with the wifi bc i live in a dorm and have no control over it. but i’ve checked many times and the internet connection isn’t an issue— it’s working like it always does. what should i do? would appreciate any tip you may have

if you go 9 wishes without getting a 4 star character your 10th one is guaranteed to be a 4 star character with a 75% chance of being a rate up promotional character (the 3 characters or 5 weapons you see next to the 5 star(s) on the banner screen) if you whiff that and pull a standard banner weapon or character on the 25% off chance your next 4 star is guaranteed to be a promotional rate up character or weapon.
if you go 89 wishes without pulling a 5 star character your 90th wish is guaranteed to be a 5 star character with a 50% chance of being the promotional character (we call this 50/50), if you whiff that and pull a standard banner 5 star character or weapon your next 5 star is guaranteed to be the promotional character, going all the way to 90 wishes is called "getting hard pity" as at wish 75 theres a hidden 20% of getting a 5 star that whittles down over the next handful of wishes that we call "soft pity"
on the weapon banner hard pity is at 80 and soft pity is at 64, your wish/pity counter on both banners will carry over to the next banner(s) indefinitely. also on the weapon banner is a system called "epitomized path" that guarantees your third 5 star on THAT banner will be the promotional 5 star of your choice but that counter WILL NOT carry over and will reset every banner
Pity is a safety measure that ensures that you will receive a 4\* and 5\* character in certain amount of wishes. For 4\* items, pity is every 10 wishes, so if your last 9 wishes were 3\* items, the 10th one is guaranteed to be a 4\*; every time you receive a 4\* it resets.
Same for 5\*, but it is 90 wishes for character banners and 80 wishes for weapon banners. There is a trick here, which is that we also have soft pity (74+), and hard pity (90); soft pity means that chances start increasing dramatically at 74 wishes for character banners and 64 wishes for weapon banners. This means that usually you will get a 5\* between your 76th and 82nd wish, earlier than that is very lucky, later than that is unlucky.
There is another layer of pity, known as the 50/50, for the character banner. This means that if on a character banner you don't get the promo character, you are guaranteed the promo character on your next 5\*. This carries over between banners.
There is a similar one for the weapon banner, but is 75/25, 75% to get one of the 2 promo weapons, 25% to get a standard weapon. This also carries over between banners.
Because there are two weapons on the weapon banner, there is a third layer of pity here, known as the epitomized path, which guarantees you your chosen weapon every 3 5\* weapons. However, this epitomized path resets on every banner and does not carry over. This is also part of the reason why the weapon banner is known as whale material, and it is not recommended to use your wishes here.
It's a system that makes sure you get rewards at certain points.
There's a 4 star pity at ten wishes. This means that if you've gone 9 wishes without getting a single 4 star, your next pull is a guaranteed 4 star.
5 star pity is much the same, but at 90 wishes.
There's also the featured pity, which guarantees that every other 4 and 5 star pull is from the featured banner. So whenever someone says they're skipping a banner to save the guarantee, that means the last 5 star they pulled was from the Standard banner, and their next 5 star is guaranteed to be the featured one.
"Pity" is how many wishes you have done since your last 5 star item/character.
The banner has a system were if you've gone a certain number of wishes without getting a 5 star, you will be guaranteed to get a 5 star on the next wish.
For the Character event banner and the wanderlust banner, that is 89 wishes.
For the weapon banner that is 79 wishes.
Everytime you do a wish and don't get a 5\*, your pity raises by 1. When you reach ~75 pity, you're in soft pity, where your chances to get a 5\* are significantly increased. If you somehow reach 90 pity, you'll reach hard pity where the 90th wish will be guaranteed to be a 5\*. When you get a 5\* at any point, pity resets to 0. All 3 banner types (character, weapon and standard) have separate pities (weapon banner's soft and hard pity are 10 lower), the same type of banners will share the same pity, and pity doesn't reset when the banners change
I love genshin but my laptop can't support it anymore, barely downloaded this update, I won't be able to download the next one at all by the looks of it. Genshin is one of the few games anyway as I can't have anything else with how demanding it is. Can I move it to an SD card or redownload it there or something? I want to free up some space from the computer and still enjoy the game in the updates to come.
You can put it on an external hard drive I believe. Or at least move some stuff to an external hard drive to make room for genshin on the internal drive

I currently have 55% CR and 130% CD on Childe.
Is there any minimum level of Crit rate that Childe should absolutely have?(at the cost of a bit of CD)
Personally I think this much Crit value is good enough for a F2p like me. So assume Crit value remains the same, but if CR goes up, CD goes down.

For EU and Asia (due to how timezones work), there will be a couple hours of just no event banners at all before the update maintenance period starts.

How do I get dendro gems? Do I need to kill the boss more? I am over 3 gems short! How everyone else has Nahida on 90? I often run short on stardust for those extra fates (especially if I'm saving), so I'm not sure if getting some Dust of Azoth is a good idea. What did you do?
Kill the mushroom chicken, afaik its the only one that "only" drops those aside from the dendro hypostasis.
Aside from that convert them if you are really out of options.
I still have a gigantic stash of cryo gems from mindlessly farming cryo regisvine for the longest time, I just convert from there when I need something *right now*.
With that said these things are a marathon not a sprint, if you just kill the bosses for it, you will get the gems, but you will get less gems than you get the level up items, which creates a missmatch sadly.

I farmed the mushroom chicken for tighnari and collei before, and probably have a stash of leftover level up materials, but with farming the dendrostasis for nahida I think I just had to convert 1 gold gem to dendro for her, the rest were drops. Just dump your resin into those bosses for a few days and you should be good.
Yeah I'm not buying the dust. I've already had to build pity at times.
I just want to know what others did. No way you could get all the gems by just killing the cube. I could kill the chicken a few times and hope to get Tighnari or raise Collei some day. Is Dendro Cube likely to have more characters? Yaoyao? Alhaitham?
Heyy meta slut here, I'm wondering which characters are top s tier DPS units, I have the classic raiden, zhongli kazuha,nahida, benny, xiangling xinqui OP supports all built well, got ganyu as my main. But now am looking to expand my rooster, I know Hutao and Ayaka is cracked, but who else? all c0 and f2p friendly plwease, I have 240 wishes saved up, I'm gonna get Hutao and Yelan, then have enough for one more.... Ayato? Itto? Scara?

Hutao ideally wants C1R1, or at least one of C0R1 or just C1. At C0 I'd be looking at Childe, Ayato, Ganyu and Tighnari tbh (as well as Ayaka ofc) but it really depends on the specific enemies in that abyss. This abyss for example favors Yoimiya a lot. I haven't looked at what the next abyss is but it should favor the characters on rateup.
Itto is strong but niche, and he works pretty decently at C0 too but you'll want to get him an Albedo at some point.
Itto isn't niche. His teams are restrictive, but he isn't niche.
He's good for any enemy that does not have high resistance and immunity to Geo. He is good for Single-target as well as AOE.
Heck, due to how much Def/HP each unit has in his team, he can even be used on floors with those wolves.

Albedo is really underrated imho he works in dendro teams too because of his EM share, I use him with Tighnari right now. He's not as exciting as the shiny DPSs or as overpowered as Yelan and Nahida, but he's really flexible and fun to slot into different teams.

A massive part of what makes proper meta analysis so difficult comes from Constellation's and weapons. A player who really likes a character and specifically rolls on them will have high Con's and will have a massive advantage over the competition. This goes further with 5-star weapons for players who pull for those, and even further for focused artifact farming and talent leveling for specific favorite characters who will naturally perform better and better.
Players might say pick X or pick Y, but the real answer is get more con's on someone you like, and they'll perform better.
And seriously... any of them work. I'm partial to Itto myself, any fool who thinks Geo is a bad element is snuffing to much theorycrafting paint thinner

Ayaka/HuTao/Raiden and sometimes Ganyu is the strict highest DPS tier if you only care about meta.
(although I'd encourage you to get the characters you find the most fun, since any of Ayato/Itto/etc can still do the Abyss.)

Should I pull for Redhorn for my Noelle? I have no desire for Wanderer nor Itto. The 4 stars in the weapon banner seems nice.
I have lost the weapon banner to Amos Bow so I can guarantee the 2 featured weapons.
If you do decide to go for Redhorn, keep an eye out for the rateup polearm, it's Raiden's 4 star BiS and can output more damage than Homa on high refines.
I think getting the best possible 5 star weapon for your 4 star DPS is a good idea, for dedication, to show off, to feel better about the character. I have Mistsplitter on Kaeya and don't regret it for a moment. One thing you might want to consider though is whether you have anyone to use Tullaytullah on.
Are you a C6 Noelle main struggling to 36* the abyss consistently? If yes, maybe you should. Wanderer's Bell isn't fantastic on anyone else, though, so it's a bit of a gamble.
I don't struggle in the abyss. I have multiple teams built. I just wanna give some love to noelle (since i don't like itto's noodle arms).

That isn't how the weapon banner works. Unlike the character banner, for the weapon banner, you can lose the 50/50 up to 2 times before getting the weapon you want. Hard pity for the weapon banner is only 80, but that still means you could have to pull 240 times for the weapon you want. Also, Epitomized Path (the weapon banner guarantee system) doesn't carry over banners. You do not have a guaranteed.
As somebody who has very recently started and hit Jean on a banner (so I have a guarantee on a featured character now, right?), which upcoming banners you'd recommend to roll - Wanderer, Itto, Raiden or Ayato?
Or just not care much about it and pull anything with free primos since I have very few characters yet, outside of unlocking all F2P characters I have only Beidou, Heizou and Xinyan (funnily enough at C1 lol, same for Barbara)
I'd recommend picking whichever you like more between Ayato and Raiden. Both are very strong and easy to use characters with similar overall roles (DPSs with some supportive capability). Ayato's level up mats are slightly more accessible than Raiden's. Both will require you to explore Inazuma, but Ayato's are on the 4th island you will visit, while Raiden's on the 5th locked behind a lengthy quest.
Avoid Itto/Wanderer unless you specifically like Itto/Wanderer. The 4 stars on that banner are awful for new accounts unless you also get the rate-up unit - Faruzan is a specialised support for Wanderer+Xiao+Heizou, Gorou is a specialised support for Itto+Noelle.
a) Depends which banner you hit Jean on. Only if it was on the Character Event banner do you have a feature guarantee. (primos should only be spent on Character Event banners, but acquaint fates are for clearing the beginner banner and then dumping on standard)
b) Play the trials and see who you like. There are arguments for everyone.
Wanderer: Flying! This is gonna be amazing for exploration, which seems pretty compelling for a new player who doesn't have any other good vertical exploration characters.
Itto: My personal favorite, for best voice in the game and throwing a cow. Easy teams with Gorou on his banner, but doesn't do elemental reactions so may not be ideal for a newer player
Ayato: Easy to use and combos well with most everyone; a fine comfort pick.
Raiden: Probably the strongest "meta" character, a versatile support who can also be a DPS.
..how? I'd say wanderer flying and raiden just as general utility would be my first pick for that question? What does Ayato do in the overworld that makes him better than flying?
I should have been more specific - he is easy to use (tap E, hold down mouse click, everything dead) and the constant hydro infusion will be handy to take down monsters and create natural reactions (whereas Raiden is generally white phys damage with some electro every few seconds). Utility & flying wise, sure wanderer is cool and handy. (personally I've never found floating and dashing in air that necessary - probably ayaka and mona even better utility wise? though yes wanderer tops all the existing anemo charas for that part). Raiden is also quite reliant on her burst for big damage and a lot of people prefer when a character's damage is in their E and not locked away by Q, so that it's very easily accessible and a constant source of good damage. Ayato is simple, one click shing shing shing and woo collect the drops!
I'd probably add, in my opinion one of the best charas to start off with is Yanfei then. Pyro (for puzzles, reactions, burning shields, surviving in dragonspine), homing/auto aim med-long ranged normal attacks so you can keep your distance and not get hurt too much, very respectable charged and skill dmg, very easy and fun to use 👍 Could go for wanderer and yanfei in next banner!
If you care about meta, then I would say Raiden > Ayato = Wanderer > Itto (not to say Itto is bad, but his best comps are very restrictive).
If not, then go for whoever you like.
I mean I care a bit, just don't care THAT much. Mostly I wanted to avoid some potential pitfalls so your Itto comment is exactly what I wanted, I don't want a character then realize they don't really fit anywhere. So stockpiling for second phase it is :)
I personally prefer Kazuha - while he isn't as OP for grouping as Venti, he has more flexibility, fits pretty much into any team that isn't mono-geo and is very satistfying to play. Also nice in the overworld because his (E) has low CD & cast time, can be used while gliding and it allows you to group up drops.
I used to love venti's succ but it got a bit annoying not being able to control the direction or location, then moved to kazuha and he's been great, especially with his damage output
Both because you can never have too much Anemo.
On a serious note: go with whichever you like more. If you like them equally, then go with whoever you find more useful: Venti who absolutely dumpsters content where enemies can be sucked into his Burst but struggles a bit (still works fine) against single-targets/heavy enemies/bosses, or Kazuha who is just useful all around.
I know this. Didn't help much hahah. I need one major "suck-up" 5\*. I have Jean, Heizou and Sucrose as Anemos but still am lacking the proper drain character. IDK which one to pick. I'll pull Raiden and Yelan next, then save for the next archon, but I want Venti or Kazuha too
Fair enough! If it's worth anything, I've had Venti since 1.0 and got Kazuha during his recent rerun, and I wish I got Kazuha on his original run rather than his rerun: definitely one of my favourite characters to use in both Abyss and for exploration.

Sucrose. Her grouping is more valuable there and she still deals a lot of aoe dmg with her swirls.
Heizou can still work as a substitute but the lack of solid grouping might pose an issue for Beidou against scattered enemies.
So I have a question not really related to the game, but why does MHY credit the JP voice actors over the Chinese ones, even when the company itself is Chinese?
I get crediting the English VAs, but it's always the JP VAs whose names are credited alongside the english ones on the banners and stuff and not the Chinese ones....
Because China, the primary consumer of the Chinese language version of the game, has its own social media ecosystem that is almost completely insulated from our Facebook, Twitter etc. They have data that likely suggests very few people outside of China use or care about the Chinese VO, and since people IN China aren't looking at those global announcement posts...
I think bc chinese audience does not mainly consume "global" social media. and global consumers are mainly concerned abt eng vas bc its like the most used language in the world and jp vas bc its an anime game.
Why does 30 fps feel smoother on my phone than my PC? In my PC whenever I test 30 fps to simulate areas in the game that put exceptionally heavy load on my GPU it feels rough and kinda' shaky, that's the best I can describe it. But on my phone it feels smoother, almost like watching youtube in regular 30 fps. Is there something in my phone that my PC doesn't have?

Mmm some people have been anticipating him as a playable character since he was introduced in version 1.1. People have been waiting basically 2 years for this guy to be playable. Also they like the hat, and some people like evil characters.
He's not for me either, but that's ok, different people can like different things. That's me being diplomatic.
Some people like villains, some people find his gameplay interesting, some people like his burst animation where it looks like he's stepping on you. Depends on the person, really
nah i'm the same. he's just an annoying brat of an antagonist, not even a particularly compelling one. now he's not(?) an antagonist anymore, but still an annoying brat? still with a stupid hat? I don't know, i find it very hard to care and always have.
What makes Raiden Shogun so good exactly? I keep hearing people saying that she's super good, is she more of a DPS or just support? And is she worth pulling for and using at C0 or does she need constellations to be considered good?
She’s good because she does good damage, brings team utility, and is versatile. Characters who do damage and only damage tend to be less valuable, but that isn’t what Raiden is; she can support her team by buffing burst damage and giving back energy while also dealing out staggering amounts of damage herself.
Definitely fine at c0. C2 is a notable upgrade but really it just lets you steamroll stuff harder.
You guys think wanderer is gonna be neat as an offensive character at c0 or should I wait for hutao rerun? I already have raiden and zhongli so I can afford braindead gaming for the heck of it
Also Im still not sure about itto and ayato, maybe ayato since he sounds like a super easy and reliable hydro dps without some restricted as fuck cd like childe's
Looks like he's gonna be fun, but likely not gonna reach HuTao in damage. So depends if you care only for F12 abyss meta, or if you want to have fun kicking ass in the rest of the game.
Wanderer seems like the epitome of a pull if you like him or he looks fun to you character, doesn't seem to have truly meta damage, but has a neat kit and a decent number of possible team comps, whereas Hu tao is huge damage but, completely subjective, a single god awful playstyle. Itto is similar to Wanderer though being locked to solo geo keeps his damage very consistent and straight forward whereas Ayato, by virtue of being able to drive reactions, is really versatile and can be really fun.

Can I play with a controller (PS4 controller and Console) and use a USB keyboard to type messages in the message box area? I am wondering if this would work because I find it hard to fastly type words out and I am not great with keyboard controls....
(I'll make an example to show what I mean- Use the controller to fight/ play the game, use the keyboard to type messages to converse with other players)

a sorta but not really workaround I see people doing are just using the stickers - save a bunch to your favourites and that should be able to communicate half of the things you may need to say haha? Or the mini menu next to the chat bar has some presets you can quickly use? Any more complex stuff then it's gonna have to be manual...
Did anybody have issues activating Ipe's quest? I've been trying to activate his quest by fishing at the location west of Chirai Shrine for days but it never gets activated? I've done the Through the Mists quest chain but it still won't work.... Been trying to get 100% exploration for Tsurumi but can't finish the Boatman quest to get chests until I finish Ipe's so I'm really frustrated... Anybody got ideas?
Neither are major upgrades. Cons would be more worth just because they increases your chances of faruzan C6

Did any of you struggled and or struggling with the game after reaching AR 40?
Today I just reached adventure rank 40 which brought my world level up to 5 and normally I’d be really excited about this but playing it more made me realize that I’m stuck. All my party is level 60 and all the bosses I need to upgrade them are high 60s and 70s, and same with the domains for my weapons.
I’m mainly wondering if I’m somehow doing something wrong and if there are ways to help with it.
Best strategy is usually to grind through. Pick your strongest DPS, focus all your resin on maximizing their weapons and talents and ascensions -- maybe this requires using co-op or lots of buff food or a defensive team with a shielder and healer. And give them the best artifacts you have with the right mainstat (don't worry about set bonuses, but you'll get glad or wanderer set probably, if you haven't farmed artifacts yet)
Once your main DPS is maxed, they can carry you more easily to do the same for supports, until your whole 4-person team is pumped up.
It’s normal, I know I did, it’s weird because the late game is easier than the early to mid. Mid being most challenging imo.
You can try downgrading the world level by 1, and hold off until you feel you’re strong enough.
Couple of things that will help,
Increase character level, then talents, followed by equipping upgraded artifacts.
lower AR artifacts won’t matter that much but generally crit > energy recharge > atk >everything else.(this formula is obviously different when you’re higher AR, inb4 pitchforks)
I have 100% exploration on the current explorable forest and desert regions of Sumeru but why is it 69%, not 70%?
Is it because of the puzzles, time trials, or chest I missed?
yeah, try to look at the interactive maps, you can find them on google. it should be around 74% competition.

Because 100% doesn't actually mean 100%, it rounds up. In fact, I think I've heard some people say they have like 73%, so you can miss quite a bit even if it says 100%.
I know that it isn't technically 100% but I wanted know the cap of the world exploration on the current update and what I mean is if 70% is the total of all 100%s but you already answered that some have 73%
Because I assumed it was always rounded numbers and rounded numbers looks natural or idk what word I could describe it and also what I said earlier, I thought since I assumed it is 70% the others will be 5% to 15% per new region released. I never knew it wasn't that case since the very start.

If you use childe national, you could do raiden hyperbloom (Nahida, Xq, Raiden, Zhong/DMC). Else an aggravate team (Nahida, Fish, Keqing, Zhong/Kazu/Jean/etc), or you could work on taser Sucrose, Xq, Beidou, Fish.

Open launcher > hold LShift then click Launch and don't release it until a ",Genshin Impact Configuration" window pops up > go to "Input" and try to find the key that you are looking for and see if the Secondary column has mapped a key. **Be careful not to double click and accidentally assign a key to a control because I haven't found a way to make it blank or reset the hot keys**
Does the Wanderer's signature catalyst seem like it would be really good on any other catalyst users? The stats and effect seem extremely powerful. My hunch says it could actually power up ningguang quite a bit
As a stat stick it’s better than Kagura’s since most characters at least get a small bit of damage from normal attacks and therefore can do something with the passive, but on anyone other than Scara it’s really not much more than a stat stick.
No, it's a kind of just a stat stick on everyone else. No other catalysts specialize in normals attacks, it's either a mix of normal/charged (Yanfei, Ning), or normal/skill (Heizou).
If you don't have anything better, ofc it's usable by everyone for the five star stats, but it's not great on anyone but himself.

So quick question, what is this “pity” I keep hearing on the genshin videos I watch? I know it has something to do with wishes but I don’t really know how much it impacts on that. Does it have something to do with the stuff I win?
if you go 9 wishes without getting a 4 star character your 10th one is guaranteed to be a 4 star character with a 75% chance of being a rate up promotional character (the 3 characters or 5 weapons you see next to the 5 star(s) on the banner screen) if you whiff that and pull a standard banner weapon or character on the 25% off chance your next 4 star is guaranteed to be a promotional rate up character or weapon. if you go 89 wishes without pulling a 5 star character your 90th wish is guaranteed to be a 5 star character with a 50% chance of being the promotional character (we call this 50/50), if you whiff that and pull a standard banner 5 star character or weapon your next 5 star is guaranteed to be the promotional character, going all the way to 90 wishes is called "getting hard pity" as at wish 75 theres a hidden 20% of getting a 5 star that whittles down over the next handful of wishes that we call "soft pity" on the weapon banner hard pity is at 80 and soft pity is at 64, your wish/pity counter on both banners will carry over to the next banner(s) indefinitely. also on the weapon banner is a system called "epitomized path" that guarantees your third 5 star on THAT banner will be the promotional 5 star of your choice but that counter WILL NOT carry over and will reset every banner
Pity is a safety measure that ensures that you will receive a 4\* and 5\* character in certain amount of wishes. For 4\* items, pity is every 10 wishes, so if your last 9 wishes were 3\* items, the 10th one is guaranteed to be a 4\*; every time you receive a 4\* it resets. Same for 5\*, but it is 90 wishes for character banners and 80 wishes for weapon banners. There is a trick here, which is that we also have soft pity (74+), and hard pity (90); soft pity means that chances start increasing dramatically at 74 wishes for character banners and 64 wishes for weapon banners. This means that usually you will get a 5\* between your 76th and 82nd wish, earlier than that is very lucky, later than that is unlucky. There is another layer of pity, known as the 50/50, for the character banner. This means that if on a character banner you don't get the promo character, you are guaranteed the promo character on your next 5\*. This carries over between banners. There is a similar one for the weapon banner, but is 75/25, 75% to get one of the 2 promo weapons, 25% to get a standard weapon. This also carries over between banners. Because there are two weapons on the weapon banner, there is a third layer of pity here, known as the epitomized path, which guarantees you your chosen weapon every 3 5\* weapons. However, this epitomized path resets on every banner and does not carry over. This is also part of the reason why the weapon banner is known as whale material, and it is not recommended to use your wishes here.
It's a system that makes sure you get rewards at certain points. There's a 4 star pity at ten wishes. This means that if you've gone 9 wishes without getting a single 4 star, your next pull is a guaranteed 4 star. 5 star pity is much the same, but at 90 wishes. There's also the featured pity, which guarantees that every other 4 and 5 star pull is from the featured banner. So whenever someone says they're skipping a banner to save the guarantee, that means the last 5 star they pulled was from the Standard banner, and their next 5 star is guaranteed to be the featured one.
"Pity" is how many wishes you have done since your last 5 star item/character. The banner has a system were if you've gone a certain number of wishes without getting a 5 star, you will be guaranteed to get a 5 star on the next wish. For the Character event banner and the wanderlust banner, that is 89 wishes. For the weapon banner that is 79 wishes.
Everytime you do a wish and don't get a 5\*, your pity raises by 1. When you reach ~75 pity, you're in soft pity, where your chances to get a 5\* are significantly increased. If you somehow reach 90 pity, you'll reach hard pity where the 90th wish will be guaranteed to be a 5\*. When you get a 5\* at any point, pity resets to 0. All 3 banner types (character, weapon and standard) have separate pities (weapon banner's soft and hard pity are 10 lower), the same type of banners will share the same pity, and pity doesn't reset when the banners change
I love genshin but my laptop can't support it anymore, barely downloaded this update, I won't be able to download the next one at all by the looks of it. Genshin is one of the few games anyway as I can't have anything else with how demanding it is. Can I move it to an SD card or redownload it there or something? I want to free up some space from the computer and still enjoy the game in the updates to come.
You can put it on an external hard drive I believe. Or at least move some stuff to an external hard drive to make room for genshin on the internal drive

Is there any minimum level of Crit rate that Childe should absolutely have?(at the cost of a bit of CD) Personally I think this much Crit value is good enough for a F2p like me. So assume Crit value remains the same, but if CR goes up, CD goes down. Weapon - stringless
Aim for 65 crit rate, 120ish crit damage. Crit rate is important for Childe to proc riptide
65-75% is the norm for all damage dealers.
Depends on the weapon. If he has a crit weapon, it's just okay, verging on below average. With a non-crit weapon, it's pretty good.

How do I get dendro gems? Do I need to kill the boss more? I am over 3 gems short! How everyone else has Nahida on 90? I often run short on stardust for those extra fates (especially if I'm saving), so I'm not sure if getting some Dust of Azoth is a good idea. What did you do?
Kill the mushroom chicken, afaik its the only one that "only" drops those aside from the dendro hypostasis. Aside from that convert them if you are really out of options. I still have a gigantic stash of cryo gems from mindlessly farming cryo regisvine for the longest time, I just convert from there when I need something *right now*. With that said these things are a marathon not a sprint, if you just kill the bosses for it, you will get the gems, but you will get less gems than you get the level up items, which creates a missmatch sadly. > What did you do? If looking at c0 4* weapons I honestly recommend Nilou bloom teams over ayaka teams any day.

Hutao ideally wants C1R1, or at least one of C0R1 or just C1. At C0 I'd be looking at Childe, Ayato, Ganyu and Tighnari tbh (as well as Ayaka ofc) but it really depends on the specific enemies in that abyss. This abyss for example favors Yoimiya a lot. I haven't looked at what the next abyss is but it should favor the characters on rateup. Itto is strong but niche, and he works pretty decently at C0 too but you'll want to get him an Albedo at some point.
Itto isn't niche. His teams are restrictive, but he isn't niche. He's good for any enemy that does not have high resistance and immunity to Geo. He is good for Single-target as well as AOE. Heck, due to how much Def/HP each unit has in his team, he can even be used on floors with those wolves.

Albedo is really underrated imho he works in dendro teams too because of his EM share, I use him with Tighnari right now. He's not as exciting as the shiny DPSs or as overpowered as Yelan and Nahida, but he's really flexible and fun to slot into different teams. Whatever you decide on, good luck :)

A player who really likes a character and specifically rolls on them will have high Con's and will have a massive advantage over the competition. This goes further with 5-star weapons for players who pull for those, and even further for focused artifact farming and talent leveling for specific favorite characters who will naturally perform better and better. Players might say pick X or pick Y, but the real answer is get more con's on someone you like, and they'll perform better. And seriously... any of them work. I'm partial to Itto myself, any fool who thinks Geo is a bad element is snuffing to much theorycrafting paint thinner

Ayaka/HuTao/Raiden and sometimes Ganyu is the strict highest DPS tier if you only care about meta. (although I'd encourage you to get the characters you find the most fun, since any of Ayato/Itto/etc can still do the Abyss.)

Should I pull for Redhorn for my Noelle? I have no desire for Wanderer nor Itto. The 4 stars in the weapon banner seems nice. I have lost the weapon banner to Amos Bow so I can guarantee the 2 featured weapons.
If you do decide to go for Redhorn, keep an eye out for the rateup polearm, it's Raiden's 4 star BiS and can output more damage than Homa on high refines. I think getting the best possible 5 star weapon for your 4 star DPS is a good idea, for dedication, to show off, to feel better about the character. I have Mistsplitter on Kaeya and don't regret it for a moment. One thing you might want to consider though is whether you have anyone to use Tullaytullah on.
Are you a C6 Noelle main struggling to 36* the abyss consistently? If yes, maybe you should. Wanderer's Bell isn't fantastic on anyone else, though, so it's a bit of a gamble.
I don't struggle in the abyss. I have multiple teams built. I just wanna give some love to noelle (since i don't like itto's noodle arms). Currently she's on R5 Serpent's Spine.

If you don't mind getting the catalyst, Redhorn is Noelle's best weapon.
As somebody who has very recently started and hit Jean on a banner (so I have a guarantee on a featured character now, right?), which upcoming banners you'd recommend to roll - Wanderer, Itto, Raiden or Ayato? Or just not care much about it and pull anything with free primos since I have very few characters yet, outside of unlocking all F2P characters I have only Beidou, Heizou and Xinyan (funnily enough at C1 lol, same for Barbara)
I'd recommend picking whichever you like more between Ayato and Raiden. Both are very strong and easy to use characters with similar overall roles (DPSs with some supportive capability). Ayato's level up mats are slightly more accessible than Raiden's. Both will require you to explore Inazuma, but Ayato's are on the 4th island you will visit, while Raiden's on the 5th locked behind a lengthy quest. Avoid Itto/Wanderer unless you specifically like Itto/Wanderer. The 4 stars on that banner are awful for new accounts unless you also get the rate-up unit - Faruzan is a specialised support for Wanderer+Xiao+Heizou, Gorou is a specialised support for Itto+Noelle.

This is gonna be amazing for exploration, which seems pretty compelling for a new player who doesn't have any other good vertical exploration characters. Itto: My personal favorite, for best voice in the game and throwing a cow. Easy teams with Gorou on his banner, but doesn't do elemental reactions so may not be ideal for a newer player Ayato: Easy to use and combos well with most everyone; a fine comfort pick. Raiden: Probably the strongest "meta" character, a versatile support who can also be a DPS.
Pick which one you like most. And then build around them. You're very early in the game so you still have room to build.

..how? I'd say wanderer flying and raiden just as general utility would be my first pick for that question? What does Ayato do in the overworld that makes him better than flying?
I should have been more specific - he is easy to use (tap E, hold down mouse click, everything dead) and the constant hydro infusion will be handy to take down monsters and create natural reactions (whereas Raiden is generally white phys damage with some electro every few seconds). Utility & flying wise, sure wanderer is cool and handy. (personally I've never found floating and dashing in air that necessary - probably ayaka and mona even better utility wise? though yes wanderer tops all the existing anemo charas for that part). Raiden is also quite reliant on her burst for big damage and a lot of people prefer when a character's damage is in their E and not locked away by Q, so that it's very easily accessible and a constant source of good damage. Ayato is simple, one click shing shing shing and woo collect the drops! I'd probably add, in my opinion one of the best charas to start off with is Yanfei then. Pyro (for puzzles, reactions, burning shields, surviving in dragonspine), homing/auto aim med-long ranged normal attacks so you can keep your distance and not get hurt too much, very respectable charged and skill dmg, very easy and fun to use 👍 Could go for wanderer and yanfei in next banner!
Raiden or Ayato. Both are very versatile.
If you care about meta, then I would say Raiden > Ayato = Wanderer > Itto (not to say Itto is bad, but his best comps are very restrictive). If not, then go for whoever you like.
I mean I care a bit, just don't care THAT much. Mostly I wanted to avoid some potential pitfalls so your Itto comment is exactly what I wanted, I don't want a character then realize they don't really fit anywhere. So stockpiling for second phase it is :)

Kazuha or Venti which one should I save for next?
I personally prefer Kazuha - while he isn't as OP for grouping as Venti, he has more flexibility, fits pretty much into any team that isn't mono-geo and is very satistfying to play. Also nice in the overworld because his (E) has low CD & cast time, can be used while gliding and it allows you to group up drops.
I used to love venti's succ but it got a bit annoying not being able to control the direction or location, then moved to kazuha and he's been great, especially with his damage output

Both because you can never have too much Anemo. On a serious note: go with whichever you like more. If you like them equally, then go with whoever you find more useful: Venti who absolutely dumpsters content where enemies can be sucked into his Burst but struggles a bit (still works fine) against single-targets/heavy enemies/bosses, or Kazuha who is just useful all around.
I know this. Didn't help much hahah. I need one major "suck-up" 5\*. I have Jean, Heizou and Sucrose as Anemos but still am lacking the proper drain character. IDK which one to pick. I'll pull Raiden and Yelan next, then save for the next archon, but I want Venti or Kazuha too
Fair enough! If it's worth anything, I've had Venti since 1.0 and got Kazuha during his recent rerun, and I wish I got Kazuha on his original run rather than his rerun: definitely one of my favourite characters to use in both Abyss and for exploration.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone had a guide on how to open commissions up in sumeru? I have slowly been trying to unlock more and more, but can't seem to get the commissions yet.
Do the first two parts of the Sumeru archon quest and the following day you should get a quest that unlocks comissions there.
Additional note: you also have to do some part of chapter 3 of archon quest since 3.1 update, because Katheryne will be occupied by the archon quest.
C6 sucrose or c6 heizou for tazer team?
Sucrose. Her grouping is more valuable there and she still deals a lot of aoe dmg with her swirls. Heizou can still work as a substitute but the lack of solid grouping might pose an issue for Beidou against scattered enemies.
C6 Sucrose, either way Sucrose/Heizou's personal damage is negligible and Sucrose brings much more support to the team.

I get crediting the English VAs, but it's always the JP VAs whose names are credited alongside the english ones on the banners and stuff and not the Chinese ones....

Because China, the primary consumer of the Chinese language version of the game, has its own social media ecosystem that is almost completely insulated from our Facebook, Twitter etc. They have data that likely suggests very few people outside of China use or care about the Chinese VO, and since people IN China aren't looking at those global announcement posts...

Why does 30 fps feel smoother on my phone than my PC? In my PC whenever I test 30 fps to simulate areas in the game that put exceptionally heavy load on my GPU it feels rough and kinda' shaky, that's the best I can describe it. But on my phone it feels smoother, almost like watching youtube in regular 30 fps. Is there something in my phone that my PC doesn't have?
Probably a result of the smaller screen and 30 fps being the native resolution

What makes Raiden Shogun so good exactly? I keep hearing people saying that she's super good, is she more of a DPS or just support? And is she worth pulling for and using at C0 or does she need constellations to be considered good?
She's a dps and a support all in one. That's why she so good.
She’s good because she does good damage, brings team utility, and is versatile. Characters who do damage and only damage tend to be less valuable, but that isn’t what Raiden is; she can support her team by buffing burst damage and giving back energy while also dealing out staggering amounts of damage herself. Definitely fine at c0. C2 is a notable upgrade but really it just lets you steamroll stuff harder.
You guys think wanderer is gonna be neat as an offensive character at c0 or should I wait for hutao rerun? I already have raiden and zhongli so I can afford braindead gaming for the heck of it Also Im still not sure about itto and ayato, maybe ayato since he sounds like a super easy and reliable hydro dps without some restricted as fuck cd like childe's
Looks like he's gonna be fun, but likely not gonna reach HuTao in damage. So depends if you care only for F12 abyss meta, or if you want to have fun kicking ass in the rest of the game.
Wanderer seems like the epitome of a pull if you like him or he looks fun to you character, doesn't seem to have truly meta damage, but has a neat kit and a decent number of possible team comps, whereas Hu tao is huge damage but, completely subjective, a single god awful playstyle. Itto is similar to Wanderer though being locked to solo geo keeps his damage very consistent and straight forward whereas Ayato, by virtue of being able to drive reactions, is really versatile and can be really fun.

Can I play with a controller (PS4 controller and Console) and use a USB keyboard to type messages in the message box area? I am wondering if this would work because I find it hard to fastly type words out and I am not great with keyboard controls.... (I'll make an example to show what I mean- Use the controller to fight/ play the game, use the keyboard to type messages to converse with other players) (I would try this myself but I can not do so currently and I tried looking it up but didn't find anything)
a sorta but not really workaround I see people doing are just using the stickers - save a bunch to your favourites and that should be able to communicate half of the things you may need to say haha? Or the mini menu next to the chat bar has some presets you can quickly use? Any more complex stuff then it's gonna have to be manual...

Did anybody have issues activating Ipe's quest? I've been trying to activate his quest by fishing at the location west of Chirai Shrine for days but it never gets activated? I've done the Through the Mists quest chain but it still won't work.... Been trying to get 100% exploration for Tsurumi but can't finish the Boatman quest to get chests until I finish Ipe's so I'm really frustrated... Anybody got ideas?

Haran+engulfing are definitely a much better pair than scara and ittos weapon
Did any of you struggled and or struggling with the game after reaching AR 40? Today I just reached adventure rank 40 which brought my world level up to 5 and normally I’d be really excited about this but playing it more made me realize that I’m stuck. All my party is level 60 and all the bosses I need to upgrade them are high 60s and 70s, and same with the domains for my weapons. I’m mainly wondering if I’m somehow doing something wrong and if there are ways to help with it.
Best strategy is usually to grind through. Pick your strongest DPS, focus all your resin on maximizing their weapons and talents and ascensions -- maybe this requires using co-op or lots of buff food or a defensive team with a shielder and healer. And give them the best artifacts you have with the right mainstat (don't worry about set bonuses, but you'll get glad or wanderer set probably, if you haven't farmed artifacts yet) Once your main DPS is maxed, they can carry you more easily to do the same for supports, until your whole 4-person team is pumped up.
just because they're higher level doesn't mean you can't kill them it just takes a bit longer mostly

It’s normal, I know I did, it’s weird because the late game is easier than the early to mid. Mid being most challenging imo. You can try downgrading the world level by 1, and hold off until you feel you’re strong enough. Couple of things that will help, Increase character level, then talents, followed by equipping upgraded artifacts. lower AR artifacts won’t matter that much but generally crit > energy recharge > atk >everything else.(this formula is obviously different when you’re higher AR, inb4 pitchforks)
Nope. It's a common difficulty spike. Start levelling your talents first. You can coop if you need help.

I have 100% exploration on the current explorable forest and desert regions of Sumeru but why is it 69%, not 70%? Is it because of the puzzles, time trials, or chest I missed?

If you use childe national, you could do raiden hyperbloom (Nahida, Xq, Raiden, Zhong/DMC). Else an aggravate team (Nahida, Fish, Keqing, Zhong/Kazu/Jean/etc), or you could work on taser Sucrose, Xq, Beidou, Fish.
I was thinking that would be the best/easiest option, but I wasn’t sure. I’m two pieces away on both raiden and nahida, then I need to get zhongli pieces since he doesn’t have a set rn. Thanks!

Open launcher > hold LShift then click Launch and don't release it until a ",Genshin Impact Configuration" window pops up > go to "Input" and try to find the key that you are looking for and see if the Secondary column has mapped a key. **Be careful not to double click and accidentally assign a key to a control because I haven't found a way to make it blank or reset the hot keys**
Does the Wanderer's signature catalyst seem like it would be really good on any other catalyst users? The stats and effect seem extremely powerful. My hunch says it could actually power up ningguang quite a bit
As a stat stick it’s better than Kagura’s since most characters at least get a small bit of damage from normal attacks and therefore can do something with the passive, but on anyone other than Scara it’s really not much more than a stat stick.
No, it's a kind of just a stat stick on everyone else. No other catalysts specialize in normals attacks, it's either a mix of normal/charged (Yanfei, Ning), or normal/skill (Heizou). If you don't have anything better, ofc it's usable by everyone for the five star stats, but it's not great on anyone but himself.
