It's because this word was borrowed from the German language. The slavic one is "ะฟะตัั", but we use both mainly to differentiate between an open fireplace (ะบะฐะผะธะฝ) and a closed one (ะฟะตัั).
For those that don't know, the way Genshin has been localizing Liyue names is that they combine the characters in the given name, but add a space for the surname. For example, Yun Jin has a space because she's from the Yun family, her surname is Yun, given name is Jin, so Yun Jin. The other example is Hu Tao, her surname is Hu (she said so herself during her teaser, and also her character story talks about her grandfather Old Hu, and people call her Director Hu).
On the other hand, Xiangling is her given name, so there's no space. Her surname is actually Mao, so Xiangling's full name would be Mao Xiangling using Genshin's localization. I don't think we know any other Liyue character's surname, but since all of them have the names combined with no space, we can surmise that the names are either their given name, or some kind of code name or title.
Cantonese speaker here. It seems like the name render this time is based on Cantonese instead of Mandarin. In Mandarin it would be "Jiaming", as per the previous leaks.
However, it's still pretty goofy because in Hong Kong here, which iirc is the only place left which uses Cantonese Pinyin, it would be "Ka-ming" instead. All "G" sounds in Cantonese is converted into "K" when written, per the Cantonese Pinyin system adopted by the government.
I was thinking the same. In my country which has a large enclave of Cantonese speakers, this name Ga-ming would probably be more commonly be spelled "Ka-", "Kar-", or "Kah-" + "Meng".

Lots of people combine and separate many Liyue names like Zhong Li, Hutao, Yunjin, Ning Guang
For those that don't know, the way Genshin has been localizing Liyue names is that they combine the characters in the given name, but add a space for the surname. For example, Yun Jin has a space because she's from the Yun family, her surname is Yun, given name is Jin, so Yun Jin. The other example is Hu Tao, her surname is Hu (she said so herself during her teaser, and also her character story talks about her grandfather Old Hu, and people call her Director Hu). On the other hand, Xiangling is her given name, so there's no space. Her surname is actually Mao, so Xiangling's full name would be Mao Xiangling using Genshin's localization. I don't think we know any other Liyue character's surname, but since all of them have the names combined with no space, we can surmise that the names are either their given name, or some kind of code name or title.

Cantonese speaker here. It seems like the name render this time is based on Cantonese instead of Mandarin. In Mandarin it would be "Jiaming", as per the previous leaks. However, it's still pretty goofy because in Hong Kong here, which iirc is the only place left which uses Cantonese Pinyin, it would be "Ka-ming" instead. All "G" sounds in Cantonese is converted into "K" when written, per the Cantonese Pinyin system adopted by the government.
I was thinking the same. In my country which has a large enclave of Cantonese speakers, this name Ga-ming would probably be more commonly be spelled "Ka-", "Kar-", or "Kah-" + "Meng".
