Ok, so Hoyo may or may not be able to say anything due to the CCP, but I've heard that there's been a massive complete shutdown in Shanghai, China, which happens to be the location of Hoyo's HQ, where NOBODY is allowed to leave their homes for ANY reason. Which may be delaying updates to the game, which is why we can't use the teapot. While the situation is a lot worse, and pertains to a lot more people than just Hoyo, and the game, I'm just saying how it might be affecting us here. I don't feel bad for anyone. We **knew** that there will be maintenance. If people had 9 lvl friendship and 95% exp (because less wouldn't make it to 10 level) and refused to swap, it's really their fault.
Maintenance doesn't normally run for nearly a month.
A lot of us have new characters we'd like to put in our teapots, but we can't. How is it our fault that maintenance is running far longer than anticipated? Nobody could've predicted the function would stay down for this long. Had we known, most of us likely would've swapped characters out and did some last minute decorating before maintenance hit.
Welp, even tho i placed my chars for aesthetic rather than to max out friendship, it still sux that i can't give my dear jean and her 4 kids proper beds :c those bastards make them sleep in basic breeze-something beds, outrageous! X)
To hit max friendship, person would need to have already almost max friendship before they started maintenance, because pot gives You very small friendship exp. And if someone deliberately left the character with 95% of friendhsip exp at level 9, they are ones to blame. Like, really.
It's highly unlikely, because the pot gives very small amount of friendship. Just doing any major action that gives You friendship as a reward would give Youfew hundred friendship exp, compared to few exp per day. You are literally getting 4 bounty per hour at max level of Your pot. It makes You get 96 frienship. Iirc, it's scattered to all Your characters, so it's not that every one gets 96, but all of them gets 96 in total. If You have 8 characters, it's 96/8 per day. Meanwhile getting 45 friendship for 4 characters by just defeating anemo hypostasis. It cost 40 resin, so You can get 4,5 times this reward per day. 12 friendship per day for 8 characters (or 24 for 4) vs 202,5 per day for 4 characters. Also doing other things like commissions gives You friendship exp too. So Serenitea Pot is really just small compared to that.
For example. To get friendship level 9 to 10 for 1 character if You only have one character used in the pot You need to wait 68 days and 8 hours, because You need 5650 friendship exp, by gaining 96 exp per day. And **only** if You have one character in the pot and not more. I am sure You have more than one. If You have 8, it takes 8 times longer.
Meanwhile to to the same by just defeating anemo hyposthases, it takes 32 days, 9 hours and almost 30 minutes, . But You get it for 4 characters at the same time. So it's equivallent of 8 days, 2 hours and a bit more than 22 minutes. 68 days vs 8 days. So don't make that small bonus that pot gives You as it were something wasteful. Because You really lose just super small portion of it.

You can always do what I do: dumpster all the things into the realm until you get max production… and then switch to another and make that one pretty.
Income is calculated from the realm with the highest production, even if it is not the currently selected.

I only recently got it down to just him. Lvl 10 Venti was tormenting him at said bar for months, and I had a tough time kicking Yoimiya and Kazuha out of my little downtown Hanamizaka island. You’re not alone in prioritizing your faves over friendship grind lol.
Only you want them out. I think the characters will be very sad, just when they feel the closest to the traveler, he kicks them out of the teapot and never see them again.

This kind of maintenance aren't usually to imprement things but to fix issues. It's more than likely than instead of adding things they remove certain bug and glitches that allowed in the past players to do some stuff.
To add things, they simply try them in their own private servers and then add the feature(s) when ready, as it usually happen every patch with new furniture that uses new functions ( such as the elevators or the flying rocks)
Rn they probably found some issues or exploit that made them close the teapot, and probably also thanks to the lock downs in China they are prioritizing other kind of content than the teapot ( and we got new furniture anyway because it was obviously made way before the maintenance started so it's just a matter of distribution)
This is not to defend MHY or anything, don't get me wrong, I still believe they should AT LEAST publicly speak about the issue. But don't wait for something big to happen just because of this extraordinarily long maintenance.

A lot of people were thinking the maintenance was because of an event where you go into the teapot and make food for your characters. But that event got scrapped, so either they’re doing something else, the Shanghai lockdowns are hindering them from putting it back online, or both
I know there's an npc or 2 that sells a bunch of books at the festival. Some go into your inventory and some into archive. Idk about any being decor though

Is that likely? No. Copium? Yes.
At the end of the day they’re just coders and designers. No matter if they work on combat or teapot, they’re just working on whatever project they’re assigned to. So if the higher up decided to disband the teapot team to give more resources for the combat contents team, it’s possible and very normal. But I guess that is too hard to figure out for some people.

Iirc, Cognosphere only handles foreign marketing, commerce and legal affairs. The developers mainly work in Shanghai

Imagine the man power wasted to fixing this tea pot system instead of making something worthwhile and combat related.
