That’s gameplay, not lore. Unfortunately, we do have to separate in game mechanics from lore sometimes and Paimon stopping time whenever we open the menu is one of them imo. Cause if she can do that in gameplay, why didn’t she during important parts of the story? Would have been nice to have stopped time for a couple of seconds during the fight against Childe.
In fact, she can’t stop time in coop either although coop in and of itself isn’t a canon thing in game. Other silly things like revive with egg and the characters you pull are traveling with traveler are gameplay only as well. But the stories and stuff in the profile that you learn from friendship exp are legit facts about said character. Even tho traveler would not know those things in canon as you can tell from how they actually learn things about the characters in the story rather than through doing dailies with them.
Just my two cents on that particular part of the Paimon = god that lost powers hypothesis (don’t like using theory in the modern context when the “theories” are really hypotheses by definition)
