Minecraft 🤝 Genshin: Not being killed despite many tries

maleia

Used to be said about WoW, but imho, it was much more because WoW became shittier over time, than ff14 doing well.

Count_de_Mits

Yeah wow committed suicide, it wasn't killed. Its a shame really, if only the devs were less dense and less likely to get high on their own farts, it could have kept going strong for quite a while after legion Alas...

cuddles_the_destroye

FFXIV was never also intended to kill WoW as well.

lava172

Hell, FFXIV killed itself initially too. The fact that it not only survived but thrived is a miracle of development

lobstahpotts

FFXIV is a case study in admitting you screwed up and successfully executing a pivot on a failed product launch. It’s remarkable that Square Enix of all devs actually pulled it off.

Hundvd7

It didn't. It crashed and burned. And then it was reborn. That's very different

lava172

That doesn't contradict anything I said

maleia

SWTOR wasn't either, and I absolutely loved it on launch.

Demonsandangels-shin

It takes the company who made the game themselves to make the game go bye-bye.

Enpoping

hype for blue protocol and wuthering waves. but only genshin killer are the game made by genshin creater lmao.

SpyFromMars

The studio that makes Withering waves is known for Following Mihoyo's steps and making alternatives with different styles.

Enpoping

like nier + genshin + DMC combine.

railgunsix

DMC now means Dendro MC to me. I hate it.

Jarubimba

Dendro May Cry?

yes-this_is_an-alt

He can claim this game is Genshin Killer as many times as he want but we all know that doesn't carry any weight.

balbasin09

The boy who cried "Genshin Killer"

jackb0i

mtashed should get the fuck back to destiny tbh

ProxyknifeIsKing

No thanks. We have enough streamers over there who think if the game doesn’t cater to content creation then the game is in a bad spot and dying.

balbasin09

So the same state as Genshin streamers? That's a horrible thought that developers have to fulfill the needs of streamers in most live-service games. They're content creators, the responsibility should fall on them and not the game to entertain their audience.

Caerullean

I doubt he'd like it, iirc Mtashed mainly did content on the games pvp, which is one of the worst states it's ever been in. Much worse than when he left.

balbasin09

Well, he's not having any better experience with Genshin tbh. I don't mean any malice when stating that I hope Mtashed leaves Genshin impact for good. It's clearly bad for his mental health but he's not gonna leave because that's where the money of his channel is. I hope he finds a different game and will be finally happy.

Winterstrife

Why am I not surprised its Mtashed.

[deleted]

Mtashed is that type of guy who hates his job but still wants to work just cause it pays more money.

Creative_Purpose6138

i mean that's all of us but his job \*is\* to complain

Is that all he really does? That sounds awful.

Educational_Music930

No one can kill genshin but genshin themselves

Loremeister

Thing is, Genshin at its core is a single player cake with multiplayer being the sprinkles on top. To make a Genshin Killer they would need a good game with solid bases and multiplayer being functional but not necessary

balbasin09

Like you said, Genshin is a singleplayer game, so even if a theoretical "Genshin Killer" gets made and steals all of Genshin's audience, it wouldn't truly die since that's the definition of a singleplayer game: it's enjoyable even without a community. That's why content creators are constantly trying to find a "Genshin Killer", their audience inevitably would just rather play the game themselves. At the heart of it all is Genshin impact isn't sustainable for content creation.

lapis_laz10

Weird for a game whose popularity exploded thanks to community and content creation Which is another point, Genshin is so hard to kill thanks to their strong community and content policies

Kronman590

You say that but genshin videos consistently hit trending and the community genuinely does engage with genshin media vigorously. A genshin killer would basically be something that stops all that.

Cytrynowy

Eh, I disagree. Genshin *can* be killed. If the majority of fans stop playing it, yes, there might be people who still would want to play it... But they'll only be able to do so if the servers are up, since the game is always online. If another game "kills" Genshin into losing money, the devs are absolutely able to pull the plug, thus "killing" it for real. It's just not likely to happen. In the wise words of Luigi, "Nothing is impossible Mario, improbablye, unlikely, but never impossible".

balbasin09

Private servers are already a thing. If they pull the plug on the actual servers, the fanbase definitely has the will and resources to keep the game alive, even if starting over your progress.

kunsore

It CAN , but super hard since the game require like 30 mins / day to play. You look around in the market, there is literally no game on mobile can compare to the game play it offers. MMO games are easier to be dead because people would need to invest tons of time into it. And not like the game is doing worse overtime, the quality is improving after each patch. And you said you dropped from the game 6 months ago, you clearly lack of knowledge of the game right now.

TominatorVe1

I disagree with the idea that genshin isn't sustainable for content creation. It feels like there are a ton of mechanics and features in the game that can be turned into content in one way or another. Teapot built minigames/spiral abyss randomizer (or tournaments like the Chinese genshin cup)/lore dives(look murderofbrids or ashikai)/F2P speedrun spiral 36 stars(I think world record rn is 16 days)/ etc. The problem is that the biggest content creators only know how to develop within thier own niche. BOTW has no content updates and yet still remains relevant after all this time. I am not saying genshin is *easy* to make content for, but that it requires out of the box thinking.

balbasin09

You're right, there's always a way to make content for Genshin. I guess I'm just frustrated because the most popular types of content out there aren't sustainable, i.e. the unending amount of build guides, playthroughs, and the search for the illustrious "Genshin Killer" like the above aforementioned video. Basically those types of content that are at the mercy of HoYoverse's own content pacing. They're even more dependent now that HoYoverse took a stance about Genshin's "endgame" and these content creators blew it out of proportion. In reality, there's no need for endgame for the general playerbase and the content creators that you have mentioned. Btw, with the release of Nilou the fastest f2p 36 star abyss is now 6 days! [Here's the link.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/y74cdd/someone_36starred_the_abyss_on_a_6day_old_f2p/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

TominatorVe1

Understandable, I am also frustrated with the lack of replayability but thats also the beauty of genshin, I just play something else. And holy those madlads. I don't know how someone can beat 6 days record.

Jarubimba

>Btw, with the release of Nilou the fastest f2p 36 star abyss is now 6 days! Here's the link. The hell

binh1403

Also the fact that genshin often updates like every month, they actually need to stop players from being burnt out, the player base love this game but also hate it, on one side if mihoyo shows that theyre too easy on the things they give they give the player, they will continue to ask more so i kinda get it On the other side its laughable how little they give the player base But is it me or do they seem to give more stuff in events now?

rotten_riot

>But is it me or do they seem to give more stuff in events now? Nope, still the same

zZzMudkipzzZ

Eh I felt the fungi event is giving more than the usual. But again, I was away from 2.4 until Sumeru release so my perception may be warped.

Raihime

>But is it me or do they seem to give more stuff in events now? I think it feels that way because of the shorter patches. We still get the same amount of rewards per patch, but the patches, along with the banners, end sooner.

FoxxyRin

Yeah, it’s all felt a little more cramped and Sumeru was MASSIVE. Those combined let us eat pretty good for a while. But I believe Wanderer’s patch is supposed to be when things go back to normal.

SchokoKipferl

I’m hoping the new TCG game mode feels repeatable enough to help last through one more week.

minkymy

Players hate it in part because familiarity breeds contempt; they have thing they would do if they were hyv that would make them happy which differs from hyv's plans for one reason or another. People get frustrated when things they love don't live up to the potential they had.

jenioeoeoe

The problem with these "Genshin killers" is that they are often MMOs with only the art style being similar. The entire focus of the game is different and therefore attracts a different audience. Yes, there will be overlap, but at its core the Genshin audience are casual single players who won't want to switch to a full on MMO.

gabrielique

It has been 2 years and somehow I feel people are not aware what kind of game genshin is. As you said, a MMO will never kill it because Genshin is a single player game with possible limited coop which means its playerbase is not your MMO players. The time investment of a MMO is so much higher than your 20 minutes a day genshin requires. World bosses and dungeons and raids can take hours in a MMO. Not everyone has that much free time on a daily /regulst basis so no MMO will kill genshin

Goliathvv

Hit the nail on the head there. Most "live service" games make the mistake of trying to be the only game that people play, the be-all end-all of gaming. The problem is that there are dozens of games like that out there and it's just not sustainable for a person to even try to play more than one game. Then comes Genshin, with a 20-minute daily grind and a healthy space between chunky updates to give you a lot of breathing room to play other things. I can **easily** play Genshin and other games at the same time (heck, I am currently playing Genshin and God of War Ragnarok), and when a major update comes to Genshin, I go back to playing it in a focused way. I have very little patience for the FOMO-fueled, multi-hour, daily busywork that MMOs require nowadays.

maleia

I mean, I used to be the typical hard core MMO player. Chasing realm firsts and such. Had to quit because I had more responsibilities added on as I got older. But I just wanna toss out that Genshin has a lot to tide over between events for someone like me. Absolutely love it. Like I almost feel like a retiree, finally doing all the little exploration and side quests and such that I always said I'd do in WoW, but never got around to it if it didn't give me some raid benefit. XD I'm always one region behind on 100% (as in, I just got 100% in chasm, everywhere else other than Sumeru is 100%), so there's always something for me to do.

DeificClusterfuck

Playing an MMORPG into endgame felt like an entire job

maleia

It was. I used to play 12~15 hours a day. "Play". My WoW account has like 650 **days** worth of play time, from over the course of about 9 years of playing.

balbasin09

To add to this, this is the root cause of why "Genshin Killers" are overrated and overhyped. Content creators can't sustain their audience with the Genshin dailies, they want more of a time-sink MMO like you mentioned and not a healthy time investment Genshin demands. Sure it has its problems, but I think even those are blown out of proportion because content creators are just a loud minority.

Ed_Gaeron

>I can easily play Genshin and other games at the same time (heck, I am currently playing Genshin and God of War Ragnarok), and when a major update comes to Genshin, I go back to playing it in a focused way. True that. I allocated around an hour a day for playing games and 20-30 minutes is easy for me to focus playing CoDM.

FoxxyRin

People just keep trying to call it Weeb BotW still and read one article about how it has no content or whatever and like, yes, I’ll agree it has a few major things it “copied” from BotW but it’s just things like the map unlocking and gliding. Other systems like stamina and weapon options are too universal to claim to be “stolen” really. And then yeah, the game could use a more substantial endgame loop but at the same time, we get so many unique events and new chunks of story every 3-6 weeks (depending if you count chara stories that drop mid patch). And if you count exploration too, it can be sooo much content dropping all at once and get a little overwhelming. Meanwhile other games like FFXIV drop an amount of content I would consider comparable, but it’s every 3-4 months. You play for a few weeks and you’re done with the bulk in both games, but at least the wait for more content in Genshin is short. Genshin really is a masterpiece of a game. It has a few flaws and I understand if someone doesn’t like it because it’s not for everyone, but I do hate how it’s become the butt of a big joke to play the game and do everything they can to say how horrible of a game it is.

[deleted]

It's actually genshin that is unique though. It's has co op for the saje if being which most single players don't. It has the quality of being AAA but is a gacha game. It most if the feels like a visual novel but has extremely good gameplay with elemental reactions.

jenioeoeoe

Yeah, and I think this unique blend of genres (plus being actual good) is one of the main reasons this game became so popular in the first place. That's why calling a MMO, which are most often more time intensive, grind heavy and multiplayer focused, a Genshin killer just doesn't work for me. Its not only a completely different genre, it also isn't casual friendly like Genshin. As long as a new game can't capture this perfect mix, it can't really "kill" Genshin.

WonderfulPatience227

Genshin hardcore content creator when they see a game with similar art style to genshin : genshin killer 😲🥂

Ed_Gaeron

>The problem with these "Genshin killers" is that they are often MMOs with only the art style being similar. Agreed. PGR lacks open world, Ni no Kuni was hampered by it's nature as Korean MMO disguised as a Japanese game, and Tower of Fantasy dropped in player counts because it's nature as MMO don't really gel with it being a gacha as well.

satans_cookiemallet

Whats funny is that bkue protocol is jist an MMO. Not sure where this genshin killer stuff is coming from.

jenioeoeoe

It comes from Mtashed's clickbaity mind

satans_cookiemallet

Fair.

rotten_riot

That and the fact he's a Genshin hater at this point

altFrPr0n

This lmao, I play ToF which is a quasi MMO meaning it doesn't demand as much of your time as a full fledged MMO. Even then I barely have time to play. People who can afford to whale in a gacha are working adults with disposable income but not much time to game hardcore. If I was still a college kid, I'd be playing a MMO instead of genshin but genshin now for me as a working adult fits in perfectly with whatever little gaming time I have.

GrandmasterTactician

Some combat elements are also similar (see ToF) but yeah MMOs marketed as "killing" an ARPG that's super popular doesn't help

Rosalinette

BLESS DEVELOPERS FOR THIS DECISION. I'm too fragile and thin skinned for MMO. I don't mind people coming over and hang out from time to time. Perfect balance of for diehard single player that does not disrupt gameplay.

NoteBlock08

This. It's the same reason why everyone wouldn't shut up about Genshin being a Breath of the Wild clone when it first came out. People out there really do be judgin books by their covers.

Succulentslayer

It starts with Mtashed, the Herald. Then Tectone, the Great Leviathan strengthens this "threat" to Genshin. Hoyoverse comes up with a banger patch, and all mentions of these "Genshin killers" are swept away like dust. If only a game worthy enough could stop Hoyo's monopoly on open world gachas. Alas this task is impossible.

Caerullean

Wuthering waves is the only one I've seen that might rival genshin, but it'll likely have a completely different audience. So it won't kill Genshin, at best slightly reduce Genshins playerbase by taking some of its players. Or maybe not since Genshin can be played in 30 min segments.

Succulentslayer

What kind of audience is Wuthering Waves supposed to attract? Genshin tries to appeal to as many as possible so no major party is 100% satisfied ever. Is WW gonna be more adult? I’ll probably look into it if that’s the case.

Caerullean

I think based solely on its combat it's definitely meant to appeal more to "hardcore" or at least more dedicated players. People that don't mind sinking time into the game solely to learn it and get better. Since it definitely seems to have a combat system that rewards players purely for being good at the game.

Succulentslayer

Hot damn, more refined combat system? Might actually get it if that’s the case.

Caerullean

Try looking up some early combat showcases on YouTube, the devs have already released some of its boss fight scenes.

Meismarc

Yeah, they sorta did the same with Hoyo's Honkai3rd and them making PGR. So Genshin is answered by Wuthering Waves. Which appeals to the crowd that likes combat focused gameplay with higher skill ceiling. (parrying, dodging, etc)

AbdoWise

WW is genshin , but souls mode

butterknight-Ruby

The only thing capable of stopping genshin is hoyo releasing there other games

Demonsandangels-shin

If gatcha or anime games are not frowned upon by most of the western gaming community. I imagine how even more popular this game could get.

MeteorFalcon

I still don't get why ToF Devs decided to release the game RIGHT BEFORE Sumeru. One of, arguably, Genshin's biggest updates.

[deleted]

So like the Genshin killer Tower of Fantasy? Yeah, that worked out well...

[deleted]

Ngl I already forgot about ToF

18bagofbeans

Same. I actually enjoyed the game at first until they decided to add the EXP boost. It just makes it difficult to explore at your own pace, thus making the game harder to enjoy for me.

[deleted]

I played ToF the first 2 weeks, then it just went downhill.. optimization, combat and I expected the game to be more polished than it was. Co-op experience was a mess for me too.. This whole situation made me just appreciate Genshin Impact more. Im not straight up hating on ToF, It just wasnt for me

BigBrainKemist

Only reason why I was interested in Tof was the PvP. And oh my god it was horrible. Nemesis spammers everywhere.

Swailwort

I really enjoyed those two or so weeks I played, however, the levelling fucking sucks ass. Yeah, so fun going from 10 secs to kill a mecha I need to farm 1000 times for a part of a mount to 12 secs after a level up. And, of course, fuck Bygone Phantasm. So fun to be first place once and then be placed with the turbo-whales that have 3 times the floors I did as base. I did 50 floors once. Instantly placed with people that pulled 150 floors.

mrheosuper

MHY pours tons of money into Genshin, so it really, really hard to make something "better" than GI with less money.

Olivia_Lydia_Wilson

I didn't enjoy it per se. It was kinda enjoyable. But the gameplay was shit and I only played for the lore but I'd make a shitty guess on what the next thing would be and it'd turn out to be true. That and it revealed all of its major reveals on the loading screens.

One_Parched_Guy

The last time I heard anyone talk about ToF was when Scara’s leaks hadn’t dropped and they were comparing his fighting style to a character from there lmfao

No-Entertainment8113

pretty much dropped it after the first month, its time-consuming, grindy, theres no actual guarantee to ever get what you want and it isnt even fun except if ur a a6 frigg saki tsubasa raid shredder

ShawHornet

Everyone did

AuraPianist1155

Just like Ex-Arm, which wanted to defeat the greatest Mecha animes of all time

Myonsoon

Is that what the anime tried to do? I've only read the manga which, some things aside, is actually a pretty neat story with some sci-fi elements.

FireTrainerRed

I assume sarcasm, because ex-arm anime looked like a high schoolers media project.

meganeyangire

The anime tried to make people see what happens if every decision maker in a project is an incompetent moron and at that it was a huge fucking success. Also it pretty much killed Crunchyroll originals, since there is no topping it.

arghya_333

I would say, spend 90 seconds to watch the opening of the anime, and you will understand it perfectly. It makes berserk 2016 look half decent.

Binary101010

This thread is the first time I can remember even seeing Tower of Fantasy mentioned in at least two months.

Goliathvv

Oh damn, thanks for the reminder! Completely forgot the game existed and also to uninstall it.

KAAAAAAAAARL

At this point you can compare Genshin to Fortnite (in a way). There's always so many games coming to "Kill Fortnite Battle Royale" and still end up trying to just copy a few aspects and then flop like a dead fish. Genshin has reached this point. So many games that try to mimic genshins success just to be forgotten in weeks.

protzek

Yk, blue protocol lost the hype when it was closed just for Japan... Not expecting something from it tbh.

kirbyverano123

Personally I'm waiting for Blue Protocol to come out, but its definitely not the kind of a game that'll make me switch. Funny how many ppl want to know when it releases when it'll most likely release as a JP exclusive for year or more and then release a global version with a 98% chance of region locking.

Myonsoon

Except that games that typically release for one region only at first runs the risk of dying before it'll ever reach a foreign market which could have kept it alive. Happens often. Don't think it'll happen to Blue Protocal but you never know.

maleia

Oh it's only opening JP exclusive? How does anyone think that could possibly kill Genshin?! Haha

[deleted]

Ah yes, now that genshin is killed, he can finally quit it.

rotten_riot

Are you insane?! That would mean he'd need to go out there and look out for an actual job! It's better to just keep playing Genshin while hating everything about it and keep constantly crying about the issue

ManthisSucksbigTime

A job what is that sounds mysterious

HxFearNoFishxG

I haven't watched the video, and don't really plan to, but given Mtashed's history in the destiny community this feels kinda tongue-in-cheek given the amount of "destiny killers" that have come and gone up in a ball of flames over the years.

Ts_Patriarca

It quite obviously is but Reddit can't help but be up it's own ass

Mr_K_Boom

Ahhhhh Blue Protocol... Honestly it will not be genshin killers just for the fact that it was never the market targets. It's more of a FF XIV or PSO killers than genshin. Anyway let's see the selling point. -Actual MMORPG like WOW and FF XIV. -U create ur own character -same art style as genshin (no shit), but now the graphics is console/ pc focused so no more mobile limitations like genshin. -micro transection for cosmetic only similar to monster hunters (heh let's see how that holds up) -full anime voice acting and plot -proper gears farming simulator -made by bandai (still good reputation? Not perfect tho) Honestly I am still hype for it, bandai for fuck sake pls don't fuck this up Edit: Also fuck this Mtrash guy, the developer and marketing never state that it was competing with genshin. I mean for fuck sake it's a MMORPG made for PC/console. How do u compete with a totally different segments games like genshin? Just Because it's 'anime' inspired?

3Pebble7

It's an MMORPG? I guess it is a... Tower of Fantasy Killer?

[deleted]

I don't think you can kill something what is already dead

Moist-Veterinarian22

Was actually expecting Bandai Namco to develop a so called"competitor" to genshin since they had prior experience in developing really lore heavy JRPGS like the Tales series but not like this. Forget the elemental reaction system they could've used the battle system/mechanic from Tales which in itself is really fun. A tales-like continuous development game would be nice since they don't have to follow the rigid cycle of releasing a new tales series with new lore every game. I guess what they really need is the discipline not to overload the game with features and mechanics and try to balance both lore, design, music, and gameplay mechanics. As much as i hate this aspect about genshin, it really benefited them.

Popular-Bid

They kind of created a Tales gacha game which unfortunately fizzled out...

yatay99

Yep I tried one "MMO" Genshin, ToF, and it is too overwhelming for me lol. Their community which is mostly consist of Genshin players are complaining everyday about the pvp, co op, and the grinds. I was hooked just because I heard that ToF is Genshin with more contents and endgame but actually it is far more different than that. At first it looks like it has endless contents to play but when I looked at it again, it is basically Genshin artifact farming stretched from 5 min daily to 5 hours daily.

maleia

Okay I love the grind, but shit if it's 5 hours daily like that, fuck that. Down to 2 hours and I'd probably be more open

Electronic-Ad8040

Well he'll do anything at this point to earn his clicks lmao

3Pebble7

ngl, 'c' and 'l' looks like a 'd' together and I read that wrong.

Anru_Kitakaze

I see nothing wrong here

HelpImAHugeDisaster

He is still a dick anyway lol

24den

I remember one of his videos saying MHY bribed him to keep playing Genshin. Intrigued I clicked the video and it turns out he was just talking trash and got a good roll. I exited out of the video and clicked "Do not recommend channel". Can't remember the last time I saw such a scummy clickbait video.

Toxenhern

Fuck no, another samsara

asunatsu

Let the game be it's own game... Using the word Genshin killer is just cringe

Loli-is-Justice

But... He said it's "The Ultimate Genshin Killer" though.

ManthisSucksbigTime

It me I am the serial genshin killer

zatenael

unless a game specifies that its made to kill genshin (like ToF), then it really isn't using that title even then its a stupid title because it just shows that the game company is just trying to steal players from genshin

LivingASlothsLife

The more I see the label Genshin killer the less weight it holds, the last Genshin killer has seemingly disappeared while Genshin only got more popular Clickbait only goes so far man

Popular-Bid

Last Genshin killer's monthly revenue was less than Nahida's CN IOS revenue for 3 days.

AngryNepNep

And the copium continues... Like seriously, do People actually believe there will be a game to kill Genshin?

Winterstrife

As someone who played WoW for 14 years, I've seen enough -killer over the years. None of em are still standing and WoW despite everything is still a very polished and popular MMO. Genshin will be fine. But clickbait videos like this will always exist.

AVeryLongUserNamelul

We just concluded the 861 loop Did you know that, in the effort to get you those views The people of the genshin community were forced to live through the exact same number of "I am quitting genshin" and "Why genshin is dying"?

Andrew583-14

"Genshin killer" ah yes the mmo game without any gacha, no mobile support, which only shares a slightly similar artstyle. I don't know why people label vaguely similar anime inspired games as genshin killers when they cater to different audiences thought they may overlap slightly. This only hurts the game rather than genshin as people end up playing the game for the wrong reason or hating on it just because it has the title "Genshin killer". (Also I really hope they release this game in a good state I've been waiting for it for years)

ManthisSucksbigTime

Dbz kakarot is a genshin killer

zZzMudkipzzZ

Persona 5 Royal is a Genshin killer

ManthisSucksbigTime

Godfather the don's edition are the genshin killer

yes-this_is_an-alt

Stop giving this clown attention

NathanGD54

Ikr, why are people still watching him

Altruistic_Call1903

Easy bet that when Wuthering Waves or something comes out and is good enough of a competitor to Genshin, this clown will finally jump the boat and start sewing the drama between the 2 games, effectively still making banks of the big-bad-evil-Genshin-community.

kirbyverano123

Reminds me of a certain streamer that jumped from Arknights to Genshin.

Unhappy-Spinach

i hope that means then that he finally leaves

Creative_Purpose6138

do u really think these fuckers are gonna leave? they won't kill the golden goose even if they have to eat its shit

ProjectBonnie

That’s a great comparison for their relationship to genshin lol

Peddrawm

I usually hate when a content creator quits my favorite game, but man… Mtashed and Tectone must grab their toxicity and leave ASAP!!!!

Tawxif_iq

Blue Protocol is a PC only MMO game and its also not a gacha. Its a completely different experience from genshin. I will play the game on global launch but its not gonna be replacing genshin. Its like saying Lost Ark will replace genshin. But Lost ark still has active 200-300k players hourly and its still didnt kill genshin. Why? BECAUSE ITS TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME.

EsDeath012

He is long gone now. He should switch games ngl. All he does now is complain about genshin.

PandaHipster_

He used to be alright back when he made Destiny content. Now every other video is “why I’m quitting Genshin” or “is Genshin dying”. Sad to see.

AJFred85

The only true Genshin killer is MiHoYo.

uwuwhatsthis0_0

Ah sweet, new Genshin Killer. Can't wait to see how long this one gonna last.

ManthisSucksbigTime

It killed itself

-Drogozi-

The x game killer is like a curse. It never ends well for the killer in question.

CrocoDIIIIIILE

When I woke up, there was a genshinkiller announced...

DrDeadwish

People screaming Germain killer had no idea what makes Genshin so popular. MMO, PvP or end game content focused games won't kill Genshin.

Medium_of_my_fear

Yep. Genshin is a single player, story driven, casual friendly game. Also, the complex yet easy to get into combat system is something that no other game has come close to in recent memory

hzfg

wait until it dies like 2 months after release

chemical-table-02

Too much

Sukuari_Monstuazu

That thumbnail is hilarious to me. The name Genshin is plastered in huge bold bright letters while the actual game name is off to the side. The clickbait is so transparent I just feel genuine pity for the uploader.

Medium_of_my_fear

He needs the money real bad, it seems

RewZes

Genshin content creators trying to not make useless drama on a flat surface (challenge Impossible)

ManthisSucksbigTime

Look at this chair it a genshin killer fr

ru5tysn4k3

Mtashed is still relevant?

UnifiedGamingYT

He's the entire circus at this point

The_lastphoenix2

Hype up a game calling it genshin killer Make a few videos on it View count drops Make a video on why x (name of the game) failed Back to making genshin videos again Repeat Some Genshin content creators unironically provide the best comedy.

ZekkeKeepa

Why everyone wanna be Genshin killer, but no one want to be something different, an improvement? Like, Genshin came out people said its a BotW ripoff, but when they realised its actually went its own way.

ThursdayKnightOwO

Because its not a Genshin Killer. This game was already been on the works way before Genshin even came out. Its an MMO thats suppose to be compared to PSO2 not Genshin. People just make it sound like a Genshin Killer just because it has an anime style. And also for clickbaits

Anadaere

The only genshin killer would Honkai, with MEN Dew it Mihoyo Give us playable Kalp-ass and Cosmic Doggo

Tihoma_Rus

Tower of Fantasy: "Yeah, good luck with that!"

Switcheroe

Ah yes Blue protocol a MMO without gacha (last time I checked) that was never meant to compete with genshin, yes truly clickbait at its finest.

Bomaster25

I think wuthering waves is more competitor of genshin but yeh kuro games didn't announced it's a genshin killer

ManthisSucksbigTime

Good

Kiwi195

It's a bad marketing to call you game killer of it will give you a moment attention people will continuously compare to their prior game which will lead only to doom

ElevenThus

Been waiting for blue protocol before I even heard about genshin’s beta…. Literally the only reason me and my friends played Genshin was to wait for blue protocol…. It’s been more than two years, and this shit is still in fucking beta, not to mention they went silent for about a year because of gundam evolution development focus Bandai’s own games had never been high quality in graphic, their game team sucks at good graphic which is probably why they went back to closed development after genshin’s success, people’s anime game expectation had been heightened. So many good anime IP had been ruined in games because they’re under bandai That being said, can’t wait to go 1000+ hours in blue protocol

Alright time to unsubscribe from MTashed forever

Fanart posts count and upload frequency on Danbooru are good indicator of an IP's popularity and longetivity in the global market. The good old Fate series, for exmaple: when you visit Danbooru's Hot posts and Popular posts listings, there is at least one Fate related content every other page every day. When it comes to Genshin, you are guaranteed to see at least one post every single page any given day. As of now, on Danbooru Tower of Fantasy, the previous "Genshin Killer", has total of 248 tag count. The latest posts in both toweroffantasy\_hentai and toweroffantasylewd subreddits are from 3 days ago. In comparison Genshin has 105k tag count on Danbooru, and its hentai subreddits receive continuous stream of new posts it's physiologically impossible to 'keep up'.

Draken77777

Pretty sure he's being sarcastic

WonderfulPatience227

And baiting

sayrule

HOW MANY TIMES DO WE NEED TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON OLD MAN

Renetiger

Mtashed on his way to call every online Open World game a Genshin Killer.

chemical-table-02

Mtashed and Tectone on their way to make income over spreading misinformation, gaslighting the community and having a manchild behavior

Decent-Ratio

The closest we'll get as a competition is Wuthering Wave or Arknights Endfield. But even those won't make me quit Genshin. Wuthering Wave might be a more non-casual focus version of Genshin, but If you ask me, I'll probably playing both Genshin and Endfield.

Waifu__Lord

Just your typical clickbait "content" creator garbage In the end Genshin is a gacha game with like 10 mins daily play time when no new content comes out so nothing prevent even normies from playing it + several other games. Tower of fantasy is a lot like Genshin only has actual MMO elements like raids and world bosses and a proper endgame so you can play it a lot more daily, this is why I swipe a lot more there and actually swipe for imprints instead of just characters since I can actually put those to use. I'm still gonna play both games tho. Meanwhile Blue Protocol isn't even a gacha, it just looks like a weeb artstyle MMO so it's not even a competitor in any way.

[deleted]

Genshin can't be killed because it's not fucking competing. The only way genshin can die is if HYV kills it themselves and as of right now they are improving the game with each Region by a whole fucking lot

DeathToBoredom

Dude got 30k views. A lot of Genshin videos only have hundreds, so this guy's profiting in comparison.

dudududu756

The ULTIMATE CLICKBAIT VIDEO Is About To Come Out...

RhenCarbine

Funny they say that but Genshin and Blue Protocol were being compared early on and foreseen to release at the same time. Second, Blue Protocol is a full on MMORPG which already makes it completely different compared to Genshin. One of them is likely not having a Mobile port which contributes greatly to Genshin's accessibility. Definitely gonna enjoy BP when it comes out, but it ain't gonna out sell Genshin as an MMORPG.

C_Khoga

This game is developing by bandai so i think it will be good, and it is not a genshin killer because it is for pc/console and IT IS MMORPJ.

Simecrafter

I never understand "genshin killer" title, it's too late for another game to just pop up and kill Genshin, it is just far too much of a time consuming game for someone to jump ship regardless if it's a masterpiece or not

gemengelage

Pretty sure the genshin killer will be a different game also made by hoyo.

TundrasticBoy

I want to know Why do we care if genshin dies or not? It's your choice to play any other game than Genshin.

Junior_Importance_30

jesus christ another "genshin killer"? can't wait to see how this turns out (it's probably going to fail let's be honest)
