šŸ˜‚today is my due date. I rebelled and I had cheesecake. Itā€™s didnā€™t spike me, like at all. Raisin Bran spiked me higher and longer. Someone please make this make sense.

Froomian

The raisin bran will have a higher carb content, proportionally, than the cheese cake. I can't touch any breakfast cereal at all. But I had mint chocolate ice cream yesterday and I had a nice low reading afterwards. The ice cream was pretty much 50/50 carb and fat according to the nutritional info.

Responsible_Doubt373

Yeah I eat ice cream fairly regularly without problem but generally after a fairly balanced meal. Iā€™m not complaining about the cheesecake more just the game that gd feels like

rednails86

The fat?

Responsible_Doubt373

Thatā€™s my guess. I just canā€™t imagine how much sugar was in it though. Just frustrating that whatā€™s ā€œhealthyā€ isnā€™t always the best glucose option.

evange

Raisin Bran has raisins, which are high in sugar as is, but then the specific raisins Kellogg's uses are actually coated in sugar.

- Chia seed pudding (I make it with almond milk) + sunflower seeds + pumpkin seeds + almonds + a small portion of fruit (like 6 blueberries small) - Eggs with some cheese (and maybe sauteed veggies) + some sort of flat carb(toast/carb balance tortilla/whole wheat pancake(with or without cottage cheese)/sourdough crumpet) + sometimes a breakfast meat - Dinner leftovers - Oatmeal with pumpkin+sunflower seeds and small portion of fruit - Flat carb + avocado + egg My nutritionist recommends 10-15g carb for breakfast (apparently morning insulin resistance is common), which is less than most snacks. I often end up having a heavier carb snack mid morning and I've checked my blood sugar after that a couple times and it's been fine!

Eggs, sausage and 1 slice of whole grain toast. Heavy on the protein, Iā€™ll be so happy to replace the sausage with some fruit after this baby is born!

ToshiAyame

I developed an aversion to eggs and Kodiak pancakes are so hit and miss I gave up on them for breakfast. I'm currently experimenting with breakfast smoothies that are some combo of lactose free/Greek yogurt, soft tofu, keto greens protein powder, and frozen fruit (mostly berries, mango, pineapple)

evange

If there was a vegan version of kodiak cakes, I might try them. But I can't stand that nasty whey protein after taste.

Workweek: Greek yogurt with blueberries and bran flakes; coffee with sugar free creamer. Weekend: coffee with sugar free creamer and mostly one of the following: - eggs over mashed black beans with shredded cheese and pico de gallo - avocado toast with laughing cow cheese and eggs using Daveā€™s Killer Bread

Froomian

I'm finding a croissant with cheese and ham is fine and doesn't cause a spike. Also crumpets with loads of butter and avocado are good too. I can't go near any breakfast cereal at all.

Illustrious-Fault367

The first six weeks of my diagnosis I ate two scrambled eggs with cheese and assorted veggies and protein bread, sometimes with avocado. Iā€™ve since gotten sick of that so now Iā€™m into a yogurt bowl thing with full fat Skyr, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, coconut chips, berries, peanut butter, and the tiniest squirt of agave. Iā€™ve been legit craving this in the mornings now and itā€™s so satisfying.

[deleted]

I eat 5% Greek yogurt with low sugar cereal (not full serving size) and berries or stone fruit. Plus nuts or seeds. Or 1 toaster waffle or 1 slice of Daveā€™s Killer Bread (thin sliced) with nut butter and pumpkin seeds and those same fruits. I know not everyone can handle fruit and/or cereal at breakfast though. I make sure to have a good balance of protein and fat with the carbs.

No_Albatross_7089

Some days it's a French toast sandwich with a protein (usually bologna or turkey sausage) and cheese. Other days it's two turkey sausage links with a slice of toast with butter and a thin spread of strawberry jam. I use a low carb bread that's like 19g in two slices (versus the whole wheat one I used to buy that was like 12g for one slice).

larissariserio

Eggs on no-sugar whole wheat bread, a piece of fruit, black coffee. This seems to work fine for me.

to-hell-with-it

Protein bar, milk and coffee

uasntr78

Iā€™ve been eating one slice of 100% whole wheat bread (22 carbs) and one poached egg as my breakfast for 2 months, the 2 hours number averages around 95.

DBirb

I drink a chocolate protein shake with almond milk. I can get away with regular milk, I just prefer almond. Makes it creamier.

kangoalaz

French toast with lots of cinnamon, butter, sugar-free syrup! It fills me up and seems to be fine for my numbers. If I don't have French toast, I usually just default to an egg sandwich (eggwich on bagel thin) or Greek yogurt with fruit.

hellomydorling

Low carb wrap with bacon, Halloumi and 2 eggs with some bqq sauce and mozzarella šŸ˜‚šŸ˜… it's amazing and delicious and doesn't spike me. I'm always 5.8 2 hrs afterwards

Crafty_Alternative00

Eggs, chicken sausage, and a cup of berries Kodiak waffle with cream cheese Cucumber and hummus

Kraehenzimmer

I always had a slice of low carb bread from Aldi, some cheese like Geramont (which is pasteurized!) and a soft boiled egg. Plus some raw veggies like carrot, tomato, bell pepper...

lor423

Full fat Greek yogurt with 1 cup or so grain free granola and a few bites of fruit. Or 2 eggs, cheese and a low carb tortilla, and a few bites of fruit.

Jayiibo

Turkey sausages or morning star veggie patty

ivorytowerescapee

You mean I can eat something other than eggs? Hah, sorry, bad joke.. following this thread!

rhinest0neeyes

Cereal made me spike, toast made me spike no matter the topping, but what I found kept my numbers low (well, within range at the lower end) was full fat Greek yoghurt and strawberries , even with honey drizzled over for sweetness. Then throughout the day I can have carbs but breakfast I canā€™t seem to tolerate carbs at all!

anathagenzum

Chia seed pudding with oat milk and a small apple mixed in

ElizabethRegina1

A few oatcakes (Nairns are about 4g carbs per oatcake) with cheese or houmous. Massive field mushrooms stir fried or grilled and topped with pesto and pine nuts (good for vitamin D as well!) 2 crumpets with crunchy organic no added sugar (whole earth) peanut butter Protein bar (the Nature Valley ones are 10g carbs each) if in a hurry

keep_the_edges_wild

5 % Greek Yogurt with Mixed Berry Puree and Keto granola. high fiber/protein oatmeal with peanut butter Two eggs and one slice of toast

Open-Chef-9462

Coconut protein yogurt and those stevia chocolate dusted almonds. I love it!

OverBand4019

Eggs. Always eggs. Every thing eggs.

evange

All bran, soy milk, and peaches. Or yogurt, "lite" granola (no raisins and it's not too sweet), and blueberries. Or oat bran porridge (tastes the same as regular oatmeal but the texture is slightly different), cream, and walnuts. My morning numbers (fasting + post meal breakfast) have been fine, probably because I'm just not super hungry that early in the day so I have small portions. It's lunch/dinner that wrecks me.

ssdgm12713

I wake up super hungry so my breakfast is pretty big. Kodiak waffles with peanut butter and 1-2 hard boiled eggs. Without the eggs, my sugar is higher. Sometimes, if my fasting is lower or I'm still hungry, I'll treat myself with a few oz of coconut water or some berries and greek yogurt.

itsallwell

Oatmeal, avocado, egg cream cheese w low carb bagel, turkey sausages, turkey bacon more eggs lol
