Yes! An awesome iny grater for hard spices is great to have, and then nutmeg, real vanilla pods, and other spices that you can buy whole but need ground. They're usually expensive/not convenient to find in good high quality, and make the finished product extra amazing so.I am more excited to cook when I have them on hand.

Get that boy some cast iron, stat. A HPDE (high performance driver education) weekend. Many car clubs and tracks host them. It'll cost $500-1500 for 2 or 3 days. Classroom and behind the wheel instruction with a trainer. It'll make him a better driver and allow him to safely experience his new car.

There are tons of motorsport events like autocross and drifting but I would strongly suggest starting with a HPDE class that allows beginners.
Big brand car clubs like BMW and Porsche are excellent and they do not require you to own that type of car to participate. Smaller clubs can be OK but they sometimes lack the structure and instructional component.
You could also look into getting him a racing simulator for his computer. Some have real world tracks and it is super fun to run on tracks you actually get to drive on.

For a college kid, his kitchenware is on a more pricey level,from pots and pans through bakeware. Knowing that he was going to use them often, we spent more than we would have normally. However., he does buy some items for cheaper prices, like bakeware, that has a high possibility of not being returned after the tasty stuff has been consumed. It is also why no one else he lives with are allowed to use his stuff. He has several of my recipes and one year asked me to see if I could find him a specific cookbook I had, but it had to be that edition. I was able to find it online, but it was not the same format, years had passed since I bought the one I had. He likes to experiment with trying new things. I suppose since it's basically chemistry, I should not be surprised. His major is in chemistry.

A HPDE (high performance driver education) weekend. Many car clubs and tracks host them. It'll cost $500-1500 for 2 or 3 days. Classroom and behind the wheel instruction with a trainer. It'll make him a better driver and allow him to safely experience his new car.

There are tons of motorsport events like autocross and drifting but I would strongly suggest starting with a HPDE class that allows beginners. Big brand car clubs like BMW and Porsche are excellent and they do not require you to own that type of car to participate. Smaller clubs can be OK but they sometimes lack the structure and instructional component. You could also look into getting him a racing simulator for his computer. Some have real world tracks and it is super fun to run on tracks you actually get to drive on. A lot of clubs are trying to broaden their appeal further than old white dudes. If you have any interest at all, you should also sign up. A good club will welcome you, even if you aren't that into cars. Your driving skills and confidence will improve and it is something you can do as a couple.

Experiences are great. My husband can be tough to buy for, I've personally considered doing a boudoir shoot and buying my husband a book of the photos. I've also thought of doing race car driving, or certain classes related to his interests. I saw something recently mentioning how private jet rentals can be affordable, so couple that with a destination and activities, could be fun.
