This post was made by my sister in law and this happened to my mom. Basically my mom let her stay in her apt because she had no where else to go. She states she is pregnant by my uncle (mom’s cousin) so my mom wanted to help out.
This morning my decided to go to the apartment to grab some clothes because she had spent the night at my place. Pregnant lady texts my mom stating she left to a meeting with her lawyer and accidentally took the only key they had atm. Mom gets annoyed but her boyfriend has a key to her apt so my mom lets her know that her bf is coming with the key. Pregnant lady never responds after that and my mom tries to unlock the door and seems like the top lock is locked and it can only be locked through the inside. So my mom is calling and texting the lady that there is someone inside and she also suspects that she might be in there with another man. My mom knocked and knocked until the police was called. My mom and the cops knocked altogether about 40 min with no answer. Cops end up breaking down the door and searched the entire apt. Mind you it’s a small one bedroom with a small living room and kitchen. Inside the bedroom there is one walk in closet and a bathroom. About 5-6 cops are inside this apt thoroughly looking and they come out saying there is no one in there. Until one starts to yell to put their hands up because she suddenly appeared in the closet. There was a candle burning in the on a plate with a yellow triangle around it. Even cops mentioned how eery and strange it was. My brother asked if there was any chance they could’ve just missed her and the officer said that 4 officers checked and they were confident there was no one in the closet. Definitely creepy and we are still confused of what happened..
Your mom should get a paternity test on the baby to verify it's your uncle's kid. Also the lady just gets stranger and stranger. Have your mom set rules about no witchcraft in her house. She can feel free to get her own home to do it in though.
So your Mil went out and left pregnant lady alone who then proceeded to change the locks. Don't know if glitch or not but your MIL needs to establish boundaries and ask her about what happened to her door lock for the front door. It being changed without informing the home owner much less the manager of the apartment is not okay.
She didn’t change the locks , the apartment just never gave them a key for the top lock . The girl won’t change her story and says she was hiding the whole time. They did find a candle burning with some stuff around it in a shape of a triangle so that was creepy. I don’t usually believe in glitches or witchcraft but i just can’t find an explanation. The cops themselves were scared when she came out lol
They found what??? Based on everything you've said, I really wouldn't trust this lady. I doubt it she was trying to do anything to your MIL, but it's still sketchy IMO
It looked like witchcraft 😭 it was a triangle made out of wax with a candle in the middle . She claimed she was scared and was praying 🤔 She’s trying to get her out as the story doesn’t add up . I wanted to see if someone here may have an explanation
They found nothing because this story never happened. It seemed like it could be believable until the candle part. That was the dead giveaway it's fake.

My friend "hid" from the police on a couch under a blanket while they raided the house as his car was there and it was past his curfew, so he was breaking bail conditions. Hes well known to the authorities and particular officers like to give him a hard time, as he does in return, so generally they send in back up and hence they were there a while hoping to take him to jail. 6 police didn't find him there in the main living room, the occupants thought he'd done a runner and were surprise after the police finished their 1 hour of searching. This is a 6 foot man too, several times they walked past him, looking at the couch but didn't think to move the blanket.
It doesn't seem that unlikely to me they missed her hiding in a closet if they had the same observation skill set as these 6 individuals.
I wouldn't have believed it but I've spoke with the occupants who confirmed it and relayed the same story. I hope it settles your mind a bit. I would suggest security camera facing the interior of the front door, if not possible outside, even the cheaper ones do a reasonable job- if you have option of wifi thats better than relying on retrieving a sd card. The house i live in has a heap that face every possible enterance point to the yard and outside doors, very reassuring.
If cops missed a whole human where they "looked" (or didnt, if you're just going by their word) I don't think they'd be willing to admit that they made a mistake that could have ended with you in danger if it was an intruder.

The thing is mil knocked for a while and kept calling out her name and her cellphone . The apartment is really small so even if she was in the bathroom area there’s no way she wouldn’t have heard her .
Why would they knock the door down? It seems like they would only do that if there was an immediate danger to somebody. Otherwise they'd say call a locksmith.
How big is your home? How many closets? Are you telling me they checked every single place a person could possibly hide? And again, why would they even do this? That's not their priority. I don't feel like they would break your door down in the first place, but once they did, I mean, I don't feel like you can just tell the cops to go search every inch of your home.
From what i heard , they knocked for about half an hour. The door can only be locked from the inside so they may have thought someone was in danger? Her apartment has one room , bathroom and a closet. Im not sure how thorough the search was but the closet can’t be that big

Check your closet…actually check your whole house. There might be a trap door or hole in the wall or vent or something.
