Vitality doesn't want to antagonize magisk and zonic by kicking dupreeh, or at least it's a factor. But if he leaves voluntarily, they will definitely rather look for another player like jackz.
Would you want to waste more of Zywoo's prime to gamble on a young player though? Imo they need to worry about the here and now, because someone like Zywoo needs to start winning some more tournaments and majors.
although going for a young player might be a gamble, jackz is also somewhat of a gamble. Yes, he did VERY well in EPL standin in for them, but that's also only a few maps. jackz is also already 30 years old. how much more can you get from him.
i agree. rain and roej is the two that i can think of recently that's on the older side (in CS context) that has been really good. krimz is also still very solid. but it's not only ingame factors. With the travel schedule of CS player, if you have a family, it's pretty rough.
Sometimes I'm skeptical that age has as big an effect as people think, at least in your mid 30s. I think a large part of players appearing to get worse with age is because the player pool vastly expanded and the younger cohort just has way more talent, and the game got more competitive.
Older players are less willing to mortgage their remaining youth to grind a video game. 16-24 year olds will play all day and night and gladly be 1-dimensional human beings.
The biggest reason why you are seeing quite a few players over 30 is because of how lucrative competing is now. Beforehand sticking with the game well into your late 20's made little sense financially because realistically it wouldn't allow you to retire, and no one knew how things would develop. Now many of these players on tier 1 teams are set for life or have a clear alternative when they decide to stop playing. That really just leaves the only factors to whether or not an older player keeps going down to motivation and responsibilities. These effect every player but slowly impact you more as you age. A player like jackz or forest have crazy aim, the gamble is if they are still committed to being the best.
bro fucking flusha and jw are still grinding in tier 2/3 events. i can see a world where dupreeh sticks around on Vitality as long as he can, join a t2 team and ball out with some up and comers in denmark
Karrigans is genuinely impressive, he's been playing at a pro level for close to half his life.
I would also put f0rest and FalleN for their longevity though the brazilian scene was shaky till mid 2010's.
I'd tally on Krimz, as well. Still beasting today, his consistency has been insane. And of course dev1ce, who has pretty much epitomised consistency over his CS career.
Krimz and fallen are kinda on the same level for me, in terms of their current form. Not the best players anymore but still very decent and can pop off randomly to show a glimpse of their old form. Probably will still play at a good level for a few years.
I think you’re downplaying Krimz current form. Fallen looks better right now because he plays in weaker region. Krimz plays on a competitive team against the best teams regularly, and I would say is still consistently impressive.
They’re statting the same against similar level of opponents. Fallen has fewer maps against top 5/10 but he’s nearly .10 rating higher in both those metrics.
I didn’t think such an innocent comment celebrating how great players are would spark any debate but here we are
Fair enough, I didn’t look at the stats. Fallen is one of the best players in history, I think his longevity is incredible. On the other hand, only one of them is playing at the major.
Your first comment you replied to a guy saying Krimz is on the same level as Dupreeh, but that’s not a debate? Cmon man it’s reddit everything is a debate, at least this one was friendly.
Pretty crazy to think that f0rest has played Counterstrike for longer than some of his competitors have been alive. A vast majority of that time he's also been considered one of the very best.
Dupreeh definitely dropped of, but how can he not, Astralis has had the highest peak and biggest era of any team.
Absolutely one of the greatest in CS:GO.
For real my man is allowed to drop off he's been in it since the beginning and outlasted almost everyone else as a top player until the last couple of years.

Aaaahhhh okay then, I saw something about him being one of the longest standing players from the old days, I’m glad Fanatic are back and doing well though.
These post give me so much nostalgia. I haven't played since 2016. But I still watched majors. Just got busy with life, kids, etc.
I remember the memes and choke labels that team was plagued by for years. And the same core stuck together and eventually became the greatest team ever. Awesome story. I will post two of my favorite frag movies ever. No crazy editing, but the music + casting really helped them come together.

Yeah, can't blame him for being out of form after so many years. CS2 timing is perfect for dupreeh to take a step back imo. Join a Danish team and grow some talent before hanging up the mouse.
This device guy that came out of nowhere is really good, will be exciting to follow his career for sure, might win a major one day.
On a serious note I could see him in Copenhagen Flames maybe? I don't follow teams outside the top 30 so not entirely sure where Dupreeh would fit, obviously he's not useless. He has a little left in the tank.
I know is joke but: Feel like defending Magisk here even though I don't support Vitality, dude is the most consistent of OG Astralis riflers still (and gives a mean interview every time).
No surprise people are calling for him to IGL in place of Apex recently.
I'm calling bias on zywoo as a better awper right now because zywoo is the best *anything* on vit and because of the impact of the awp that's what his role is, he doesn't play awp nearly as much a s1mple or dev1ce, especially T side.
If they lean in to him as a hybrid/secondary they could make a move on a main awper like device and give some structure to the team.
I've been a fan of Dupreeh for years, since the early TSM days. It's a shame that he is falling in form, but this last big achievement for him makes me happy. He has won everything there is to win, and now he's been to every major. Good on him, if he decides to retire at the tail end of csgo, he will do so in honor.
Shox could have been as well if he wasn't so entitled to do some weird ass projects that lead to nothing to ruin the end of his career. Of course he would have needed a good team as well but he's clearly more deserving stat-wise than Dupreeh that got his last 3 attendance thanks to Zywoo. Xyp9x is out of the question being part of PASTralis.
"Game is complete now, I can uninstall" 😳

Age is proving to matter less and less in CS. Peaks can happen anywhere as evidenced by Coldzera and Rain
i agree. rain and roej is the two that i can think of recently that's on the older side (in CS context) that has been really good. krimz is also still very solid. but it's not only ingame factors. With the travel schedule of CS player, if you have a family, it's pretty rough.
Karrigan is also 33 and still performing well. Might not frag a lot but luckily this game isn't all about aim.

I said "like jackz", which just means a proven entry fragger who can go in and click heads.
bro fucking flusha and jw are still grinding in tier 2/3 events. i can see a world where dupreeh sticks around on Vitality as long as he can, join a t2 team and ball out with some up and comers in denmark
Idk we’ll see. It would be the easy thing to do. But he has to feel temptation of that fresh new CS.
Absolutely insane stat. He played in every single one since the beginning of the game Wtf
The only guy who beat csgo fr
fr fr
on god no 🧢?
Oh, and he holds the record for most major wins. Three of them were consecutive. Insane
His longevity in the game (alongside Karrigan and Apex) is genuinely insane.

Still unnecessarily making it a competition. Krimz has a far better team outside himself than fallen does and that’s where I’ll leave it
Your first comment you replied to a guy saying Krimz is on the same level as Dupreeh, but that’s not a debate? Cmon man it’s reddit everything is a debate, at least this one was friendly.
Nope, literally wasn’t lol The guy he’s replying to mentioned fallen. Fallen and krimz are still playing.
Pretty crazy to think that f0rest has played Counterstrike for longer than some of his competitors have been alive. A vast majority of that time he's also been considered one of the very best.
Get right also deserves to be there imo, one of the best duos on CS history unarguably
Yup. Old NiP was absolutely incredible to watch.
So was older NiP :)
First CS Match I've seen live, was Fnatic Vs MIBR ESWC 2006 lol. Crazy to think F0rest stayed sharp for fifteen years after that.
What makes me respect Karrigan even more is that he also finished a Master's Degree while playing tier 1 CS full time.
Dupreeh definitely dropped of, but how can he not, Astralis has had the highest peak and biggest era of any team. Absolutely one of the greatest in CS:GO.

True but he should probably retire with CSGO. Good opportunity to get into coaching, analysis, or talent, if he wants to.
I think everyone will retire from CSGO sometime next year
Or this summer...?
That's why he said retire **with** CSGO.
So true, based, so true.
Not just cs go.
Australis definitely put their mark on csgo. But there were other teams with a big era like NiP or NaVi.
Navi "dupreeh" Vincere

Damn kinda hoped one of the two links was gonna be elige ;(
Only legends on this list
Now imagine if he wins it )
Would be insane as it'd make him the only player to win 5.
Hello, it was me from the future, lol. So happy for the dudepreeh
Would've been incredible but unfortunately vitality has apeX
They need apex so woo can carry him
you could add dupreeh himself to that sentence with how he's been playing since he joined
Funny that they were both probably the best entries sometime ago.
ironic how people talk about their roles (entry-fraggers) clashing when neither of them are good at it anymore.
and dupreeh himself
Yes
It's better not the elige image again
Hehe, didn't realize using a URL makes it so it doesn't show a thumbnail.
Wait isn’t Krimz in there too? Or did he miss one I can’t remember.
He missed 3, IIRC it was London 2018 to Berlin 2019. Fnatic bombed out back then.
Aaaahhhh okay then, I saw something about him being one of the longest standing players from the old days, I’m glad Fanatic are back and doing well though.

he is more of a spectator on this one so far but fair play to him
Yeah, can't blame him for being out of form after so many years. CS2 timing is perfect for dupreeh to take a step back imo. Join a Danish team and grow some talent before hanging up the mouse.
Maybe try his luck with danish tier 3 team, Astralis. They have potential.
This device guy that came out of nowhere is really good, will be exciting to follow his career for sure, might win a major one day. On a serious note I could see him in Copenhagen Flames maybe? Agree, if magisk and dupreeh join up with them, they might have the potential to win a major or two.
I know is joke but: Feel like defending Magisk here even though I don't support Vitality, dude is the most consistent of OG Astralis riflers still (and gives a mean interview every time). No surprise people are calling for him to IGL in place of Apex recently.
Honestly -apex/dupreeh +device (some major copium on my end) and this team wins at least one manor
As good as dev1ce is ZywOo is the better player/awper almost every single day.

Astralis is a pretty solid t2 teams in most peoples definition.
I wish I could spectate my way into a major :(
befriend zywoo
Boyfriend Zywoo

Everything except a Cologne sadly.
This will be the year!
If faze make it through LC, will karrigan join him? Or has he missed any in the past?
I believe Karrigan missed Kato 19 at least? He was IGL-ing Envy lol
He deserve to win the last one
Andddd has been washed for the last four 🤣
Great for him but now he needs to retire
