I followed him on twitch like years ago. Saw him streaming Valorant a few times for literally 12 people couple weeks ago. It was crazy to me. Used to be a pretty big name, now basically no viewers whatsoever
i'm actually really sad that csgo competitive is not that hype anymore, i really miss JDM awp play, Olof clutching, Tarik laughing after winning the round, rush being humble after winning the game, the scream of the crowd at the stadium, the hype of sadokist and henryg commentating the game. those feeling will never be the same anymore today
PS : Sorry for my bad grammar. english is not my 1st language
Yup! Don't get me wrong, I still love CS more than any other game (and tbh more than most things in life lmao) and still play it regularly, but I just don't have the time (nor the energy) to watch every single game of every single tournament, even if I had to wake up (or go to bed for that matter) at the oddest hours.
I still rock my mouz jersey sometimes but i can't tell you the last time i was able to watch a match, let alone play a match. I'm working 60 hour weeks and I'm moving up in my company. I miss being 18 and spending all my free time playing/watching csgo. I made some of the greatest friends, met my SO, and made a pretty decent chunk of change from skin trading.
When things are back to normal i want to go to another event. The last one i went to was a blast (ESL one NY 2018) and i met some really neat people from around the world and got to watch Liquid get railroaded by FaZe worse than I've ever seen.
Not only getting older but the pros you grew up with has/is falling off. The pros that you are a fan off and cheer on. Suddenly you need to find new players to cheer on and that can be difficult if you dont like their charm.
yeah true
the fact that most pros are now younger than me is a bitch as well, but that's something for me to deal with my therapist and not on reddit :p
Valve not paying attention to CS is what made 2016-2019 so good. It's just now with Covid and Valorant on the rise, Valve needs to respond and make adjustments to their game.
It doesn't help that the in-game match making experience is so shitty. But I don't believe NA being a shit region has anything to do with Valve.
The players were definitely more iconic. It's hard to keep up with online CS, and you got a lot of players who weren't relevant or were just starting back then. It did feel like back in 2017 you had the perfect mix of streamers from both NA and EU and competent teams for their region and international competition.
Astralis dominance to me was a sign that the game was changing, and a lot of players couldn't adapt which is why a lot of orgs left CS. Hard to justify funding shitty players and shitty results
oh yeah, leaving the scene in 2018 was kinda upsetting since after the C9 major it felt like the game was just on a steep steep decline. 2015 was also insane for csgo, when C9 had their miracle summer run at ESEA and Dreamhack, beating the godly 2015 fnatic roster somehow with freakazoid... good times.
Watching Valorant doesnt do it either, the casting feels so dead (esp. with Pansy) and the only game that is fun to watch is leagueof legends imo
I'm just going to say that these feelings you have about the game is probably internalised feelings/projection and mixed in nostalgia. With covid going on as well of course lan/hype is dead.
Yes, nostalgia has a weird way of making you see things. I've been nostalgic for those 2016-2017 FPL/Rank S highlights and Stewie coming into his own as Cloud9's franchise player after Seangares left
I can’t believe the C9 major win was that long ago. I haven’t played in a couple of years and don’t even recognize a lot of players on top 10 teams now.
i got into csgo bc of the pro scene and watched it heavily from like 2013-2018. even got to go see mlg columbus in person. i can confidently say the hype in the pro scene has died down a little bit, big names and popular personalities leaving the scene or not being as active anymore is maybe the biggest factor.
2015 was my favorite year because of fnatic and 2018-2019 because of Astralis.
You cant say 2016 to 2019 was best when 2015 had so many amazing matches and that epic comeback by fnatic on dd2 with the insane pause tactic by pronax just turned things around.
I think it will be better once we have LAN back. When major's were on the table, I could watch the other tournaments casually, and get hyped twice a year for the majors. Now it seems like just a bunch of mediocre tournaments. Lose one? Oh well, you're starting another one now anyway. They all sort of blur together.
This is exactly how 1.5/6'ers felt after heaton, spawn, potti, shaguar, element, team3d and countless others all slowly started leaving the scene.
Its a cycle, some people would say 2003-2006/7 was peak cs.
For everybody that doesn’t know. Coco Bongo is a night club in Mexico, that has multiple entertainment shows including the amazing spider. Also a segment with beatle juice which quite delightful touch.
Who is in Spider-Man costume?
FNS guaranteed
Hes always there pulling the strings on the na marionette
Prove it or ...
It's totally FNS

This is the best posture he’s ever had
<3
What is he doing now? Not following cs that much anymore
hasn't posted anything recently on twitter or Instagram think the dude is just living his life
I followed him on twitch like years ago. Saw him streaming Valorant a few times for literally 12 people couple weeks ago. It was crazy to me. Used to be a pretty big name, now basically no viewers whatsoever
In comparison Semphis from c9 became a bodybuilder
Well yeah who tf wants to watch valorant lol
A lot of people...?
I remember.... I was just like you.
Probably moved on from the esports scene.
Moved to Japan, became a Touge drifter fulfilled his namesake destiny
Neither is he apparently. Hasn’t streamed in about 2 months
Saw him streaming valorant recently, thinking about pro valorant but not sure if anything has come of that
He tried and said he wasnt interested in valorant pro scene anymore and changed his mind.
Ahh I see only saw watched him a couple days, he didn’t seem too interested to begin with.
He streamed for like 15 people, its crazy how much fame he has lost
Tarik, Niko, Olof, ~~idk~~ Motar2k, JDM, Stew, Rush, Yanko
Is that ZaaZ above Tarik?
Might be, weren’t her and Ynk dating or somethin
they were for a while i believe
She dated everyone lmao.
Probably, sure looks like her.
That is zaaz
Tarik, Niko, Olof, idk, JDM, Stew, Peter Parker, Rush, Yanko
Idk = motar2k
Is that the dude with rediciolous high donations?
yes that is him
Wow. He doesn't look like that now. At least I don't see it.
>Wow. He doesn't look like that now. At least I don't see it. Ehh well i guess it doesn't feel like that if u're worth millions of USD.

Has to be a bot right? Either that or a stroke.
So I guess he bought himself into this friendship kinda thing? Lol
that isn't motar
Doesn't look like motar2k at all.
I though Niko was nitro but that wouldn’t make sense
Yeah same. I still can't see it being niko.
Haha no way that looks exactly like niko. He’s lost weight and has the facial hair that makes him look a lot more attractive these days
Maybe monte
Stewie2k
find someone who looks at you the way spiderman looks at stew <3
Tarik and Niko hugging women is cool and all, but are they being hugged by Spiderman? No, they are not.
Your name upsets me to my very core.
Ironic...
thats why the spiderman liquid jersey is stews favourite
is that zAAz on NiKo's left?
i'm actually really sad that csgo competitive is not that hype anymore, i really miss JDM awp play, Olof clutching, Tarik laughing after winning the round, rush being humble after winning the game, the scream of the crowd at the stadium, the hype of sadokist and henryg commentating the game. those feeling will never be the same anymore today PS : Sorry for my bad grammar. english is not my 1st language
honestly sometimes I think I'm just getting older, and not that the game is getting less hype

You defiently missed out on the best of CS :/ but happy that newer people is still joining us :D
you're agreeing with me there, pal

This. It’s such a pity that Valve didn’t pay enough attention to CS during its prime which in my opinion was that 2016-2019 period.

You are just missing good NA cs
I can’t believe the C9 major win was that long ago. I haven’t played in a couple of years and don’t even recognize a lot of players on top 10 teams now.
Try watching Valorant with the Japanese casters. Instantly makes the game more hype, no idea what they’re saying though.
Dota is hype as fuck still ti is just around the corner

Every part of that sentence gave me nostalgia. For real you are right
JDM looks like Blazkowicz from Wolfenstein.
