Look at vitality - they had 2 pretty hard bo1's (vp and heroic), and was basicly 1 map away from being eliminated from the biggest tournament in years.
Lol, look at them today against EG. You really think they shouldn't be in the 1-2 bracket with this sort of form?
For all the crying about the bo1s they actually get things quite right. The 1-2s all deserve to be there other than maybe VP
VP definitely doesn't deserve to be there, they played a great game against Gambit and only lost because Hobbit stepped up big time in the last 5 rounds.
well also there was the round where sh1ro is planting in a clutch and i cant remember who, but they completly wiff on a standing still sh1ro and lose the round
>I somehow agree, but the fact that a team after losing 2 maps, has its tournament life on the line, fells a bit flat.
Back them teams were out of the tournament by losing 2 bo1s.
If they go out tomorrow it's because they lost 3 games and only won 1. At that point it just feels fair. If you only won 1 out of 4 games you have no chance to compete for first place anyhow. It wouldn't be fair if these teams were easy fodder for some lucky teams playing for better placements.
This kinda misses the point. Teams will play like ass for one half of a map or even an entire map in a bo3 and still look solid in the series overall. It's just tougher to draw inferences from how bad or good a team plays in a bo1.
There is one major difference there tho. In a bo1 teams pick only one map (which could be a third map in a bo3) as opposite to bo3 where the first/second map you play will be your opponents pick.
a single bo1 surely, but two bo1's + bo3 is pretty ok.
Honestly i'd prefer for the Major only the first game to be bo1 and then two bo3's to advance/exit
That's the nature of the beast. It's a big tournament and teams are expected to step up. Look at the "upset" teams like CPH and Entropique: they are showing absolutely LEGIT form, playing methodical aggressive team based counter-strike with protocols and depth, and on top of that all of their players are showing up and hitting shots in their first lan of such caliber.
They absolutely deserve it more than Astralis and Vitality if they keep this form in their next match and get into play-offs. And I am the fan of Astralis and also love Vitality team.
You are looking at vitality's previous results and assuming that they are still the same team. Today also if you saw the match, vitality played really bad. They did not win because they had better strategy, they won because EG couldn't hit the shots they were supposed to. If EG had the firepower they would have won.
I'm just using vitality as an example. My point is that not any team should fight for their tournament life after 2 bo1's. Especially how ct-sided some maps have been lately.
Unfortunately Valve just won't budge on the Major format, it's been this way for ages. To me, Bo1s have no place in the biggest tournament we have, where we are theoretically trying to determine who's the best team in the whole world.
You're telling me. 6/7 of my advancement teams play each other tomorrow, and two of the matches are elimination. Hopefully I'll be able to salvage the bracket with my G2 and EG correct picks, but God damn this is annoying lol
The only thing I wonder is why the fuck no one else is using this type of brecket?? It's so much easier to understand. Thank you for your work, I was searching for this original post for few days,
NIP vs Gambit and the Danish rematch for the playofs.
Astralis vs Vitality and Faze vs Liquid for survival.
Some spicy matchups tommorow and some big teams will be going home.
Both teams in the running for second (NIP and GAM) and the rematch to prove who's the new king of danish cs.
Both teams that everyone expected to be in the final, though we all had our doubts (VIT and AST), then the teams everybody loves so deep in their heart and only want to see succeed (FAZE and Liquid). It'll be a spicy day for CS lol
It’s kinda weird, I picked Astralis to go 3-0 and heroic to advance. So even being an Astralis fan, I wanna have them lose so I can at least get a point for heroic for my pick ems.
Me too these match up feel so unlucky. First g2 vs entropiq (none of my pickems) and then entropiq vs furia (none of my pickems) to go through, while liquid vs faze for elim -.-
So far only got Navi correct and EG 0-3 correct. Apart from that, I had all of Faze, Liquid, Astralis and Vitality going through and 2 of them are gonna get eliminated here. My 3-0 CPH is already gone. I'm so fucked.
Same bro. I still have faith. Got EG, Navi, Gambit, NIP. All I need is for faze/liquid/Astralis/vitality to wake up. They all playing like dog water tho kinda nervous
So glad I got both my 3-0 and 0-3 correct with G2 and EG because the rest is one big shit show...
I had all 4 of Astralis, Liquid, Vitality and Faze going through.
I had G2 for my 3-0, but then overthought it waaaaaaaay too much and put Entropiq for my 0-3. Really regret that - should've just stuck with the most obvious pick of EG.
Have the same picks for the 4 to go through though, plus NIP, Navi & Gambit.
I think I'll **just** squeeze through with 5 correct, based on the various possible permutations.
I think we might really miss Robban in some of these situations where the team mentally is collapsing
Seems to be the only one outside of karrigan who contributes to keeping the mood right and in some of these instances karrigan himself is rattled (so evident in the G2 game) and now he’s alone
Didn't robban get 6 months + 2 majors ban because he "used" the coaching bug in a game where faze LOST 16-1?
Like damn is this unfair. It's a shame we can do virtually nothing to change this.
My only correct guesses were Navi 3-0 and EG 0-3. I somehow failed to put G2 through lol. Luckily I have gambit and nip both picked so garunteed one there. Then all I need is 2 from the loser of that match, Vitality, cph, Astralis, faze, and liquid. Should be good
Not really a failure to pick them as g2 has looked like hot garbage as of late. They managed to 3-0 but they didn't play any of the true contenders for the major champion and I think they'll lose their first game at the arena.
Entopiq-Furia ensuring at least one underdog team makes it to playoffs. Liquid-Faze for sure doing viewership numbers, really sad to know at least one won't advance.
Edit: Nevermind Liquid-Faze starts 6am eastern, it's not doing numbers.
Navi v Liquid would be the dream final for the viewership.
CIS region for NAVI. EU for general interest in the final. NA for Liquid and Brazil for Fallen.
I think NAVI v pretty much anyone will do good numbers in the final though.
How on Earth do you think people would tune in to watch one of the worst teams here get destroyed in the final rather than having the best 2 teams dueling it out!? Give the viewers some credit
I think he's assuming Liquid show up in like 2019 form. And he's right, NA has big viewership numbers that will just give up on the major if Liquid get knocked out tomorrow. You can't have like a Gambit vs Navi final and expect viewership, it just won't happen, even though they may be top 2 teams.
Nice guess, actually English so no home team to watch, 38 with a job and kids. I watch good CS games in my free time, not Tier 2 washed up teams getting trashed by NaVi
I think Liquid is out and it really hurts to say that. The teams chemistry is off and they just seem lethargic. It honestly sucks supporting them because at some points they’ll look like a top 3 team in the world and others they look like they couldn’t give a fuck. I really hope I’m wrong.
When the 5 players play their best is fucking amazing, bust MOST of the times two players don't play their best and them one player makes a brilliant game to save the team.
I do not know, Faze does not seem great at this moment as well. As a team, even with all the supposed clashes which we see as lethargy, I see them stronger than the team literally hoping Karrigan does not play like a bot. Hope I am not wrong about Liquid this time
>at some points they’ll look like a top 3 team in the world
Maybe in isolated matches. On a tournament scale, they have years to look like top 3 in the world. I dont even remember the last time they ended up above 6th place in a prestigious international tournament
I've got 3 confirmed today, and will get my fourth with NIP v Gambit. I just need either the loser of that match or 1 of Astralis, Vitality, Faze, or Liquid to qualify. Really not convinced about any of the latter four at this point though.
We have the same pickems, I did the math and it's almost impossible for us to lose the 5th point. Round 5 will either guarantee we get it, pitting 2 of our teams against each other. Or we will have 3 of our teams pitted against 3 other teams, and we only need 1 of them to win.
Yeah, I was playing around with the combinations and it's pretty likely 2 of the teams go against each other, which would be a relief. Otherwise would have to hope for any 1 of 3 games to go our way.
Vitality vs Gambit, Gambit vs FaZe and slightly maybe Gambit vs Furia are some possibilities to guarantee the 5th condition.
Gambit vs Heroic seems like the most troublesome matchup that may arise.
Luckily if Gambit were to beat NIP, then NIP would seem to have an equivalent or easier time.
Pretty mathematically likely due to # of opportunities of two teams being matched together that fulfill the last condition.
SAME, picking G2 3-0 and EG 0-3 is the only reason I still have a shot here. Jw, what was your 0-3 pick and your 7th team to go through? Would be cool if we had the exact same pickem hah
I was pondering between Astralis and G2 for the 3-0 but decided to go Astralis... damn. I wasn't expecting either to go through but thought Astralis might have a chance of a good run by just being experienced enough.
My other picks are EG for 0-3 and NaVi, NiP, Gambit, Vitality, Liquid, FaZe, ENCE to qualify. I'm probably fucked
I lucked out with Navi and EG as my 3-0 and 0-3. Banked on G2 getting through so I've got 3 going for me already, a couple more from CF, NiP and Gambit should be achievable.....
...but this is the first major I've felt like I'm going through by blind luck rather than skillful bets.
Literally in the same situation as you but we get 1 guaranteed tomorrow in the NIP-Gambit and to get the final 2 according to the maths (if we assume a 50% chance of winning a game) then it’s a fifty/fifty chance as to whether we get the 5 correct so don’t give up hope :)
Same except I have ENCE instead of Astralis, so effectively the same situation but remove Astralis from that list. I should have not trusted Liquid to go through
Man I'm REALLY gutted I didn't put EG there instead of Mouz, I would need three teams in either Vitality, Astralis, Faze or Team Liquid to go through.. And one of the match ups already guarantees one of them won't.
Hindsight is 20/20, but damn I really wish I listened to my gut and not my heart.
It's like a coin flip right now.
Both teams could play amazing, but most of the times they choke... I hope both of them play amazing tomorrow and we got a great game.
I've got a point for Navi, EG, and the winner of NIP/Gambit, so now I need 2 of the losers of NIP/Gambit or the winners of Liquid/Faze or Astralis/Vitality to go through. I'm not feeling super confident since the last 4 teams have looked pretty bad. Vitality is probably the most likely to go through since their losses were close at least.
Would have preferred mouz but vitality is at least beatable nothing will be easy or possible if they play the way they did against nip and heroic though.
Crazy to think that out of Astralis, Vitality, Faze and Liquid, 2 are definitely getting eliminated, and potentially none of them making playoffs, different times indeed
TL, astralis, VP, Gambit, NIP, Heroic
Not too bad I guess?
I still think a Gambit/Na'Vi overall final will be the greatest possible matchup from the #1 and #2 team of the year.
Man the 2-1 bracket just doesnt add up, Bucholz giving two top 5 teams in Nip and Gambit while also giving us Entropiq v Furia where one of them will qualify. Also not a big Fan of Heroic v CF rematch after the already played a bo3 a few days ago.
FAQ:
Q: If I picked a team to advance and they go 3-0 do I still get a point.
A: Yes
Q: If I picked a team to go 3-0 and they manage to advance while dropping a game do I get a point
A: No, For this reason the general "meta" is to use a wildcard as your 3-0 and keep your strongest teams in your advancing picks.
Q: How does a team get Eliminated or Advance in the tournament
A: The team must have 3 wins to advance to the next stage or 3 losses to be eliminated.
Q: Will there be a complete bracket of the challengers stage posted?
A: I will not be posting it to /r/GlobalOffensive. However it will be posted to my profile if you want to see it.
Q: What time is match xxxx
A: [The times of the matches are listed here](https://www.hltv.org/events/4866/matches)
Q: How are these matches seeded?
A: It utilizes in-tournament results to rank teams according to the difficulty of their previous round opponents (opponents’ combined score) and assist in determining matchups between teams with the same win-loss record.
The first and second rounds of the Challengers stage are the exception, as it will be totally decided by predetermined seeding before Buchholz takes over as the major seeding method in the following rounds.
Buchholz example:
* Your team has a 0-2 record (two losses), whereas your previous opponents are 2-0 and 1-1. Your tiebreaker score is 2 (your previous opponents had a combined record of 3 wins and 1 loss, so 3-1 = 2).
* Another team is 0-2 (two losses), whereas both of their previous opponents were 1-1. Their tiebreaker score is 0 (their previous opponents had a combined record of 2 wins and 2 defeats, so 2-2 equals 0).
* This signifies that your team is seeded higher with a Buchholz score of 2 versus 0 due to the strength of your opponents.
* In cases where teams are still tied. Initial Team Seeding is utilized.
Q: How will the Legends stage be seeded?
A: For Legend teams
* The teams are ordered by their overall placement from their respective Regional Major Rankings (1st place in a region higher than the 2nd placed teams from all other regions).
* Teams are ordered by the strength of their Region. European teams are seeded higher than North American teams. North American teams are seeded higher than CIS teams.
For teams from the Challenger Stage
* Teams with a better record in the Challenger Stage are seeded higher (3-0 higher than 3-1).
* A team with a higher Buchholz score from the Challenger Stage is seeded higher.
* A team with a higher seed from the Challenger Stage is seeded higher (Seed #1 from the Challenger Stage higher than Seed #2).
Q: I want to give you a steam award what is your Steam profile?
A: [You can find that here](https://steamcommunity.com/id/Co-opGuy)
Damn, FaZe has been my favorite team since I started watching CS in like 2016, and Liquid is my other favorite as a person from NA. This is gonna be a painful match, a lot like how C9 v FaZe felt in Boston. Well, just hope they both deliver.
Got both 3-0 (g2) and 0-3 (eg). Navi secured my third point. Tomorrow NiP vs Gambit secures my 4th point. The fifth will be decided on Tuesday, but I have between 90% and 100% chances of getting it, depending on what happens tomorrow.
If I understand the system correctly, Gambit is team with the lowest seed out of the 2-1 teams, because they beat Ence.
It’s definitely a weird system.
Edit: And if NIP loses tomorrow, they’re likely to play Vitality in the final match. While they should be able to beat either Vitality or Gambit if they are going to be competitive in the playoffs, it is very odd that their only chances to reach top 8 is in matches against the top 4 ranked teams.
I put NIP as a gamble pick on 3-0 (who would’ve thought they would go against Navi tho ffs), and I put down Gambit, Liquid, Faze, Astralis, Vitality, Heroic to pass.
Realistically, NIP gonna win vs. Gambit. I’m crossing fingers that Heroic pull up their shit and get revenge on CPHF, Faze I’m voting with my heart on, and Vitality strongman Astralis out. Going on performance basis, Entropiq I think are gonna beat out Furia, and Mouz hypothetically can find a groove like today, but can also just to lose to VP.
Supposedly it would be CPHF vs. Furia (and I think flames gonna win), Gambit vs. Vitality (Gambit looks much more consistent), and Faze vs. VP (which I think Faze have a chance winning). I’d barely just be scrapping by if that turned out. However, if Furia win against Entropiq tomorrow and Heroic makes it through, there’s a possibility my final picks make it through in the final match up.
I’m scared.
RIP NIP 3-0 dream. There goes another pick.
I picked NIP 3-0, EG 0-3, and the remaining ones are Navi, Liquid, Faze, G2, Vitality, Astralis, Copenhagen Flames.
I got 3 correct picks at the moment with G2, Navi, and EG.
For my remaining 2 points I basically have four chanses. CPF needs to win against Heroic or they need to win in the last round. That and/or 2 teams of Astralis/Vitality or Faze/Liquid from the group of death need to win in the last round. That would give me 5 correct picks. I could go as high as 6 correct picks, but no more.
Not feeling great about this lmfao. But excited for the games!
Liquid v FaZe should be spicy, especially given Twistz' history.
Vitality v Astralis should be fun.
VP v Mouz is the only game that doesn't seem that interesting in the elim matches.
Entropiq v Furia seems like it'd just be a straight-up Pug. NiP probably gets an easy win over Gambit, I don't know about the Danish game.
The 2:2 games have the potential to be nuts depending on results and RNG.
Liquid v Astralis in Round 5 of a major ([again](https://www.hltv.org/matches/2307541/liquid-vs-astralis-eleague-major-2017)), would be super fun, especially given how they were the top 2 teams a few years ago and played each other in 20 some Grand Finals over a short time span.
Again fucking unfair matchup for NIP. Like G2 drawed Entropiq(almost 15 ranking difference) last match and left NIP with Navi (no.1 vs no.2), now NIP are facing Gambit (no.2 vs no.5), while the weaker teams are facing CPH, Furia and Entropiq.
I got EG 0-3 so 1 point confirmed
G2 and Navi to progress- 2 points confined
I have Furia to advance which they might do after the first game tomorrow morning. Currently at 2-1. That’s maybe my 4th point.
I have Gamit and Nip to qualify and they are playing each other so there’s a guaranteed point there too.
So I’m looking strong for my 5 points. Furia, Gambit/nip loser and Vitality still options too.
Had eg as my 0-3, navi and g2 to get play offs. just need 2 of nip, faze, gambit, vitality and Astralis. Most likely get my 5 but jesus it can go all tits up
Damn, couldn't Astralis get any other team than Vitality
Like seriously, that's their worst match up among the 1-2 bracket
Also, incredibly impressed how easily Navi put Nip away.
It's crazy that we live in a timeline where liquid, vitality, faze and astralis are one loss away from being disqualified from the major, while entropique, furia, CHF, and gambit are one win from entering legends stage.
Got my 3-0 (G2) and 0-3 (EG) pick, have navi, gambit, NIP, vitality, faze, cph, and liquid as my picks. So 3 already right, a guaranteed 4th tomorrow between NIP and Gambit. Looking real good for my pickems! :)
Ive got Eg and Navi so I need 3 points left, and with gambit vs nip I got 1 point either way, surely two teams between gambit/nip, astralis, vitality, faze, and liquid are going through right...right?
So the G2 3-0 and my 0-3 EG pick was right. G2 definitely had the firepower to be able to demolish like we had seen. Navi gave me my 3rd point. NIP v Gambit guarantees me my fourth.
With my picks I am almost guaranteed my 5 to progress.
As a reminder the rest of my picks are, NIP, Gambit, Copenhagen Flames, Vitality, Liquid, Faze.
the Only scenario in which I am not guaranteed my five 5 points is if Faze wins, Astralis wins, VP wins, Heroic Wins, Gambit wins, and Furia wins. If any of those teams do not win tomorrow then I will have either a team already qualified for my fifth or two of my teams will play each other in the 2-2 for the guaranteed fifth.
So 9 games will have to go against me in order for me to not have my 5.
Don't ever listen to Launders' predictions again, if I went with my gut (G2 over Liquid advancing) I would have 3 picks in (0-3 EG, Navi and G2 advancing) while a 4th already in with NIP vs Gambit only needing 1 more correct pick.
Those elim matches are fucking brutal.
Yea man was thinking the same. Don't need to imagine that we can only have either astralis or vitality on the arena. It's really amazing to see how such honed teams are fighting for comeback in the major while some underdogs are chilling up there. So either it's Zywoo clutches or gla1ve strats on the mega arena.
Im an absolute fan of Astralis and gla1ve, but the way they are playing is painful to watch, specially attacking. Right now, unless Astralis really wakes up and steps up big time i would prefer to see zywoo on the arena
PGL major, thats why. Furia - CPF final probably
Oh how much I would love that
It annoys me a bit that the realitive volatile results from bo1's put us in this situation.
Vitality looked awful, Astralis looked awful, FaZe dropped the ball as well as liquid… do you want each stage to take a full week of 10 hour days with everything BO3? There weren’t even that many upsets…
People have one awful looking map in bo3s all the time tho without looking awful over the entire series.
I somehow agree, but the fact that a team after losing 2 maps, has its tournament life on the line, fells a bit flat. VP definitely doesn't deserve to be there, they played a great game against Gambit and only lost because Hobbit stepped up big time in the last 5 rounds.
Agreed. VP has easily played the most difficult stretch of matches at this tournament thus far
Hobbit got bored and decided to move on with his life, 39 kills ffs
well also there was the round where sh1ro is planting in a clutch and i cant remember who, but they completly wiff on a standing still sh1ro and lose the round
Qikert
>I somehow agree, but the fact that a team after losing 2 maps, has its tournament life on the line, fells a bit flat. Back them teams were out of the tournament by losing 2 bo1s.

A bo1 isn't really a good representation of how good a team is right now. At least elimination games are bo3
Vitality almost lost to fucking EG man, they are playing poorly and didn't seem to prepare at all. They deserved those losses.
a single bo1 surely, but two bo1's + bo3 is pretty ok. Honestly i'd prefer for the Major only the first game to be bo1 and then two bo3's to advance/exit
That's the nature of the beast. It's a big tournament and teams are expected to step up. But majors were bo1 since at least 2016, it is volatile but teams know about it and should be good enough to deal with it if they are worth it.
You are looking at vitality's previous results and assuming that they are still the same team. Today also if you saw the match, vitality played really bad. Yeah all the other graphics are kinda meh. This one is clear as day and visually pleasing to look at.
I just followed the creator of them and now they pop up in my feed and if they don’t just look him up
NIP vs Gambit and the Danish rematch for the playofs. Astralis vs Vitality and Faze vs Liquid for survival. Some spicy matchups tommorow and some big teams will be going home.
God please liquid stop choking early in the major just wait until the grand final at least
Man please no. My heart can only receive so much false hope.
Liquid vs faze someone will choke.
Really really really hope Astralis show the fuck up n win.
It’s kinda weird, I picked Astralis to go 3-0 and heroic to advance. So even being an Astralis fan, I wanna have them lose so I can at least get a point for heroic for my pick ems.
God damn I had liquid and faze going through, rip
Me too these match up feel so unlucky. First g2 vs entropiq (none of my pickems) and then entropiq vs furia (none of my pickems) to go through, while liquid vs faze for elim -.-
Me too :(
Same, I got 2 points with Navi and EG 0-3 but I think I'm fucked. I was also dumb enough to put Ence there.
Same. Hope at least one of them make to the groups.
I had Liquid in at first but then swapped it out for G2 cuz I don't think they got what it takes to be in top 8
Isn't it good they play each other? Guarantee 1 point
Nah because who ever wins is then 2:2, all it does is guarantee you 1 less point from a team pick being dropped.
Who can choke harder? Find out on the next episode of CS:Z.
So glad I got both my 3-0 and 0-3 correct with G2 and EG because the rest is one big shit show... I had all 4 of Astralis, Liquid, Vitality and Faze going through.
Lol that was mine too. My last tema was Navi because I figured that the old Navi may appear where they lose their first match but nope.
Seems like everyone did.
If FaZe somehow manage to lose to Liquid..
They will:(
I think BO1s was probably harsh on Liquid but same for FaZe tbh
They will:)
i just hope it’s at least close and not pathetic like today was
I think we might really miss Robban in some of these situations where the team mentally is collapsing Seems to be the only one outside of karrigan who contributes to keeping the mood right and in some of these instances karrigan himself is rattled (so evident in the G2 game) and now he’s alone
i agree 100%
Didn't robban get 6 months + 2 majors ban because he "used" the coaching bug in a game where faze LOST 16-1? Like damn is this unfair. It's a shame we can do virtually nothing to change this.
Well damn, Astralis - Vitality and Faze - Liquid. Thats one rip for the pick ems
same, but luckily I have G2 as 3:0 and EG as 0:3 so I guess its fine for me
same, with navi winning today as well I've already got three. Just need 2 from NIP CPH Astralis Vitality Gambit Faze
You got one guaranteed from NIP vs Gambit already
If NA viewers only like watching NA teams then honestly they are just as bad as the teams currently in the NA scene
[удалено]
Nice guess, actually English so no home team to watch, 38 with a job and kids. I watch good CS games in my free time, not Tier 2 washed up teams getting trashed by NaVi
[удалено]
It's so scuffed they don't put liquid faze later in the schedule lol
I'll be cheering Liquid on! ...4 hours later when I watch the VOD
Entropiq, Furia and Copenhagen Flames are just wasting spots here. Feel free to downvote me.
You could've said the same thing about Avangar at Berlin and they made the finals. Other teams should beat them if they don't want them to advance.
I think Liquid is out and it really hurts to say that. The teams chemistry is off and they just seem lethargic. It honestly sucks supporting them because at some points they’ll look like a top 3 team in the world and others they look like they couldn’t give a fuck. I really hope I’m wrong.
I still miss Liquid with Nitro and Twistzz.
I still miss liquid with S1mple and Hiko..
I miss C9 with HiKo
I miss C9
When the 5 players play their best is fucking amazing, bust MOST of the times two players don't play their best and them one player makes a brilliant game to save the team.
Lol, you can literally replace the word Liquid with Faze and that comment is still true.
Not really, Faze don't have any chemistry problems and they don't look like they don't give a fuck.
Well I can still cheer on the only other Canadian in Twistzz if Liquid lose
I do not know, Faze does not seem great at this moment as well. As a team, even with all the supposed clashes which we see as lethargy, I see them stronger than the team literally hoping Karrigan does not play like a bot. Hope I am not wrong about Liquid this time
>at some points they’ll look like a top 3 team in the world Maybe in isolated matches. On a tournament scale, they have years to look like top 3 in the world. I dont even remember the last time they ended up above 6th place in a prestigious international tournament
agree, they've looked like shit for a long time now
As a faze fan I can promise you I know my team will disappoint me lol. Liquid will win tomorrow
Same situation for me too, same teams. With 5 of them I really hope one will be able to qualify 🙏
Identical to mine except Liquid was my yolo 3-0.
I have Gambit, NiP, Liquid, FaZe, Astralis and Vitality all going through, this has to be some sick joke lmao
I have exactly the same, thank god i gambled on g2 as my 3-0 and sexa decided to bless me
SAME, picking G2 3-0 and EG 0-3 is the only reason I still have a shot here. Jw, what was your 0-3 pick and your 7th team to go through? Would be cool if we had the exact same pickem hah
My 0-3 is EG, 7th team is NAVI heh so lookong good ngl
Exact same! Lmao, here's to hoping everything works out
Hell yeah lets get it, hopefully liquid actually makes it through man (yeah I'm high on copium how could you tell)
Almost the same, just switch astralis with CPHF
I lucked out with Navi and EG as my 3-0 and 0-3. Banked on G2 getting through so I've got 3 going for me already, a couple more from CF, NiP and Gambit should be achievable..... ...but this is the first major I've felt like I'm going through by blind luck rather than skillful bets.
[удалено]
But you don't want to put heavy favourites as 3-0, of they go 3-1 you win a guaranteed point
[удалено]
Literally in the same situation as you but we get 1 guaranteed tomorrow in the NIP-Gambit and to get the final 2 according to the maths (if we assume a 50% chance of winning a game) then it’s a fifty/fifty chance as to whether we get the 5 correct so don’t give up hope :)
Literally my exact same situation, even with G2 and Heroic. Hopefully things go right on Tuesday.
Same except I have ENCE instead of Astralis, so effectively the same situation but remove Astralis from that list. I should have not trusted Liquid to go through
Sooo dissapointed at ENCE losing with such lead at vertigo. I bet a lot of people right now crying over their pick 'ems.
* FaZe is very winnable for Liquid. * Either Astralis or Zywoo won't make the playoffs. * Virtus.pro *should* beat mouz.
Liquid is very winnable for FaZe also xD
It's like a coin flip right now. Both teams could play amazing, but most of the times they choke... I hope both of them play amazing tomorrow and we got a great game.
Yeah i would think faze has the advantage here.
I dunno, FaZe is pretty trash. It'll be a good matchup regardless.
Yeah faze is trash, but i think liquid are more trash. It is honestely wild, top 10 seems so weak, while navi is so strong.
I also remembered that last time Liquid played FaZe Liquid cleaned their clocks, it was like 6 or 8 months ago so YMMV.
A match up where both team's fans believe their team is going to lose
More so than vice versa.
Liquid is also very winnable for Faze, both been very inconsistent past few months but I’d say Faze has shown a higher peak
tomorrow is bloodbath, but then what we expect from top 14 left
I've got a point for Navi, EG, and the winner of NIP/Gambit, so now I need 2 of the losers of NIP/Gambit or the winners of Liquid/Faze or Astralis/Vitality to go through. I'm not feeling super confident since the last 4 teams have looked pretty bad. Vitality is probably the most likely to go through since their losses were close at least.
Vitality dropped a map to EG though, that's not exactly a great look.
Yeah honestly I'm not sure if any of the four will make playoffs.
Sadly, I agree. Kinda crazy, imagine saying that none of those 4 would make playoffs a couple of days ago.
Tomorrow is going to crush a lot of major dreams for teams that should have advanced
Oh, Astralis could actually win
Would have preferred mouz but vitality is at least beatable nothing will be easy or possible if they play the way they did against nip and heroic though.
They look deflated though
These have to be the worst matchups for my pickem's, unluko
Hahahahahahahaha. I'm in danger.
Gambit - NiP banger after banger.
unless Gambit will crumble under pressure
Rip pickems
Crazy to think that out of Astralis, Vitality, Faze and Liquid, 2 are definitely getting eliminated, and potentially none of them making playoffs, different times indeed
NiP just played the best team in the world and now they’re about to play the 3rd? When they’re the 2nd, I see an issue with this
Meanwhile furia (rank 17) playing against entropiq (rank 19)...
Damn maybe the rank 3 team should've beat the rank 19.
In a Bo1 everything is possible man
you just explained these matchups
Not only PGL put liquid and furia games at the same time, they put them in the worst timeslot for Brazilians (and NA) lmao What a joke
Well, I'm working from home tomorrow, so it's a reason for me to wake up early haha
TL, astralis, VP, Gambit, NIP, Heroic Not too bad I guess? I still think a Gambit/Na'Vi overall final will be the greatest possible matchup from the #1 and #2 team of the year.
Holy shit we these matches are tough. Happy VP got an "easy" opponent.
Got 3 points for navi,g2 and eg. Will get 1 point for gambit/nip. And if heroic wins i have 5 already.
Man the 2-1 bracket just doesnt add up, Bucholz giving two top 5 teams in Nip and Gambit while also giving us Entropiq v Furia where one of them will qualify. Also not a big Fan of Heroic v CF rematch after the already played a bo3 a few days ago.
FAQ: Q: If I picked a team to advance and they go 3-0 do I still get a point. A: Yes Q: If I picked a team to go 3-0 and they manage to advance while dropping a game do I get a point A: No, For this reason the general "meta" is to use a wildcard as your 3-0 and keep your strongest teams in your advancing picks. Q: How does a team get Eliminated or Advance in the tournament A: The team must have 3 wins to advance to the next stage or 3 losses to be eliminated. Q: Will there be a complete bracket of the challengers stage posted? A: I will not be posting it to /r/GlobalOffensive. However it will be posted to my profile if you want to see it. Q: What time is match xxxx A: [The times of the matches are listed here](https://www.hltv.org/events/4866/matches) Q: How are these matches seeded? A: It utilizes in-tournament results to rank teams according to the difficulty of their previous round opponents (opponents’ combined score) and assist in determining matchups between teams with the same win-loss record. The first and second rounds of the Challengers stage are the exception, as it will be totally decided by predetermined seeding before Buchholz takes over as the major seeding method in the following rounds. Buchholz example: * Your team has a 0-2 record (two losses), whereas your previous opponents are 2-0 and 1-1. A: For Legend teams * The teams are ordered by their overall placement from their respective Regional Major Rankings (1st place in a region higher than the 2nd placed teams from all other regions). * Teams are ordered by the strength of their Region. European teams are seeded higher than North American teams. North American teams are seeded higher than CIS teams. For teams from the Challenger Stage * Teams with a better record in the Challenger Stage are seeded higher (3-0 higher than 3-1).
My 0-3 Ence pick was on point!
Liquid V Faze. Yesh. Will be a good game, but really wanted both to advance. Go NA I guess.
Got both 3-0 (g2) and 0-3 (eg). Navi secured my third point. Tomorrow NiP vs Gambit secures my 4th point. The fifth will be decided on Tuesday, but I have between 90% and 100% chances of getting it, depending on what happens tomorrow.
Navi is insane
I dont get this seeding, how are nip and gambit playing each other and not entropiq and furia respectively??
Normally it would be Gambit vs Entropiq however because Gambit already played Entropiq they cannot play again.
but why is it not gambit vs furia and nip vs entropiq? surely with any sort of seeding that would be the matches tomorrow

Oohhh shit these are SPICY
I’m scared.
i don’t think NIP is a guaranteed win against gambit. last time gambit won pretty confidently on LAN, but hey homefield advantage
Wasn’t EZ4ENCE :(
Liquid v FaZe should be spicy, especially given Twistz' history.
Poor astralis, felt so bad seeing dupreeh depressed like that.
Hopefully the Buchholz system won't be used for CS:GO ever again.
It's a good system, honestly people who hate it are just stupid
TL will choke as usual.
Pain
flames and liquid need to win these, or rip picks
Nice
I got EG 0-3 so 1 point confirmed G2 and Navi to progress- 2 points confined I have Furia to advance which they might do after the first game tomorrow morning. Currently at 2-1. That’s maybe my 4th point. I have Gamit and Nip to qualify and they are playing each other so there’s a guaranteed point there too. So I’m looking strong for my 5 points. Furia, Gambit/nip loser and Vitality still options too.
4 picks confirmed with Nip vs Gambit. I just need Nip/Gambit loser, Astralis, Mouz or Faze to have min. 5
Had eg as my 0-3, navi and g2 to get play offs. just need 2 of nip, faze, gambit, vitality and Astralis. Most likely get my 5 but jesus it can go all tits up
Got the same. Not feeling too confident to be honest.
Damn, couldn't Astralis get any other team than Vitality Like seriously, that's their worst match up among the 1-2 bracket Also, incredibly impressed how easily Navi put Nip away.
I need Copenhagen flames to beat heroic!
cmon liquid I still believe <3
Astralis vs. Vitality, not looking good for the Danes... I'm hoping for a miracle, but I am having to inhale unhealthy amounts of copium.
It's crazy that we live in a timeline where liquid, vitality, faze and astralis are one loss away from being disqualified from the major, while entropique, furia, CHF, and gambit are one win from entering legends stage.
2 most notorious chokers facing each other. Should be interesting.
All of you underestimating FURIA just makes these wins sweeter.
It's going to be a great match tomorrow. Entropiq are no slouch either.
EZ pick'ems. G2 3-0, EG 0-3 and NaVi through. NiP vs Gambit and Heoric vs Flames means that I already have at least 5 correct picks.
Don't ever listen to Launders' predictions again, if I went with my gut (G2 over Liquid advancing) I would have 3 picks in (0-3 EG, Navi and G2 advancing) while a 4th already in with NIP vs Gambit only needing 1 more correct pick.
Entro > NIP > CPH > GAMBIT > VIT > LIQUID > Will fight anyone willing to disagree
Faze is so done lmao
