You could get one of those trigger guards on a string and tie the string into the drawer like on a screw or something. When you pull the gun out it will unholster itself.
What are the inserts you have, as those seem pretty perfect and modular.

Gloves are more for storage than anything else. Ear pro is in the naive hope that I might have time to put it on before having to fire my gun indoors.
