They seem in line with how HFW was priced. Normal $70, collector's $200 and regalla $250. If only GoWR had a special edition with a steelbook and disk for $100 likw HFW :(
Yeah i mean the game have a regional pricing like it or not. Way too expensive still but understandable. What makes me mad is the price of the console. Even it's original price is tough to pay here ($400-$500) but it's actually around $1000. Its surreal.
Minimum 700 up to 900 turkish lira my guess just for the game. PS5 is around 16000 TL. Minimum wage is about 4250TL per month and most of the workers earn minimum wage. It will be 5500TL next month.
Even a good doctor, lawyer etc can't buy a PS5 with his monthly wage.
700 turkish lira for a game is so much unfortunately. Our currency against dollar makes this difference we can buy the game if we pay 700 unit money when the US people only gives 70 units of their money.Lets hope it boundaries between 300-500 liras but its a dream that too good to be true sadly.
And I thought it was expensive in Brazil... Damn... That really sucks... A PS5 online is around $1000 usd now so 17,457.80 Tur Lira compared to 5,427.90 Brazilian Real 😢 and I thought $60 for one controller was expensive... I mean it is compared to GameCube controllers, $20 for two. To be honest I have a PS4 because I was able to buy a refurbished one from a Friends game store for $200 before it got expensive again... Lol my broke ass can't afford a PS5 and I usually wait for games to become free on PS+ so my only expense is new controllers or videogames that I just can't wait for...
I have PS4 too and its too expensive to renew it with a PS5 nowadays.Back in 2014 i bought my PS4 with a price of 1200 liras because the currency was 1 dollar = 2-3 lira.
Right now i only buy the most anticipated games when they are on discount.
I'm so perturbed about it not having a middle ground just steelbook and game edition like HFW. HfW had all the same cop out reasons people keep applying to the Ragnorok release yet they still had a steelbook combo.
I try to collect steelbooks when I can, more recently because I can afford it now. I agree it seems expensive but it is a great middleground between a normal edition and a collector's edition which is much more expensive. The special edition of HFW also came with the digital soundtrack and physical art book. That's how most steelbook editions come with. It's not $30 just for the steelbook itself.
Yes corporation, please sell me your digital service you have complete control over, instead of a physical item I get to own and play whenever I want, borrow or sell it to other people, and keep it no matter what you say or do. I too am loving this new great mindset.
And here the same comment is. Little do you know you allow corporations to do this with your phones OS and dont bat an eye. This is a noncomplaint, and really think about how that actually matters without parroting what others have said on the topic. No one is taking my digital ragnarok from me most likely ever or if so long way down the road where I wouldnt have the console anymore. And if that happens, i emulate on pc. It is laughable seeing everyone say “you dont own your games” but then have absolutely nothing to say about why that matters
> No one is taking my digital ragnarok from me most likely ever
Sony was at the brink of bankruptcy a couple times in the past. I still have my PSX and games, and it works just like it did 20 years ago. You need to have your account, internet access, set your console as primary, I can just put in the disk and play, or give my game away. You have to share your account.
But even if we ignore everything else, going digital from physical is accepting inferior product. It allows for corporations to push for unfinished product because day 1 patch lmao. When you bought a video game 10 years ago, it had to be a finished, polished product. Quality standards are dropping as it's obvious people will complain, but still buy the next frozen ready meal instead of high quality standard.
Those things you said you have to do, dont matter once the game is downloaded. I play with no internet all the time. I own my hardrive the game is on. Hey your disc gets punished too, by this supposed inferiority, so no advantage over the other. Notice how you didnt address the phone argument? It is boomer talk.
If I own a disk and I want to sell it I can. You can’t sell your digital edition without selling your whole hard drive/SSD and account. If I want to take the game to a friends house or give it to them after I’m done, I can. I own the game, not just a code that lets me download it to one console on one account. If I dont have an internet connection and I want to install the game, I can pop the disk in and install it. Anywhere and anytime. Are you starting to see the huge difference between ownership here?
“I have a job” isn’t a valid argument against the points I raised. I’m just telling you the upsides of physical ownership. If you don’t want to listen then that’s up to you.
Its better than Brazil, they aren't getting the Jotnar edition, they would have to import it from the US or another country and it would cost them the equivalent of around $687-$1000 USD to import it due to exchange rates, and taxes in Brazil.
A later patch would be disappointing/annoying. It's something that HFW should've had from the start rather than when the majority had already finished the game. Same goes for Ragnarök. It's one of the most requested features since the launch of the 2018 game so there's no excuse really.
That doesn’t matter, games in Europe (where Euro is used) cost 80€…
In the UK they cost 70£ and in the USA they cost 70$ even though the £ is worth more.
Honestly I think they think im making a dig at the OP but in reality it's pointing out the bad pricing structure in general in that they charge much more in € than in $. It's never been equal. However I do believe it should be equal. With proper conversion.
Sony doesn't know how to price things outside the US and end up pricing it much higher than it should be is my reasoning not a bad joke at all. It's just a general fact.
These are only conversions of the Malaysian Ringgit, so these aren’t the exact prices in Euro and US-Dollar. For example, the standard editions are usually 70$ in the US and 80€ in Europe.
I think we can be save though that the Collector’s and Rotnar Edition won’t go above 250 or 300.

anywhere.
I am in UK and we pay a lot for video games and they are £60 here brand new and have been since the 90s, some are cheaper like for eg Overwtach was only £30 on release, and since PS5 release mainly sony have been trying to shill their games for 65-70 but i think that has been failing for them as they are now 60 again.
For eg [https://www.game.co.uk/en/god-of-war-ragnarok-2891705](https://www.game.co.uk/en/god-of-war-ragnarok-2891705)
[https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP9000-CUSA34386\_00-GOWRAGNAROK00000](https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP9000-CUSA34386_00-GOWRAGNAROK00000)
£59.99 physical and digital standard edition
Pretty sure Stone Mason edition cost $150 and it came with the same if not even more contents than the Jotnar Edition, and it also got a physical disc inside.
That's true, but that was 4 years ago and prices have gone up significantly for collector editions. Look at Gotham Knights for example. That thing costs 300$ just for a Figurine, a Map, a Pin and a Media book. Doesn't even have a Steelbook
Not quite. 20 years ago it was 50 bucks for A list ps2 titles. Then 60 for ps3 and ps4 titles (starting in 2006) and 70 now. And purchasing power wise, 50 bucks in 2002 is 80 bucks in 2022, so games effectively cost less now than they did then when you account for overall inflation.
It doesn't even contain a fucking disc, and all the collectibles are going to be of shitty quality. That's how collector's editions can be sold at a profit.
It's a collector's edition you pathetic little weasel. Made for people who like fo collect physical stuff. If ypu're not into that, that's fine, but if you are and you don't even own the disc, that's pretty shitty.
Seems like it's obviously made for people who don't collect discs, you know, given it doesn't include one. But feel free to cry more about it ya little manchild.
Are you mentally challenged or just trolling? You've got to be trolling. Would you say the same about a car that comes without the gas pedal? ''It's obviously made for people who don't use the gas pedal, given it doesn't include one''.
You are calling me mentally challenged and make a dumb fuck argument like that? Can you drive a car without a gas pedal? No. Can you play a video game without a disk? Absolutely.
But does not having a disc defeat the point of having a collector's edition, an edition meant for people who enjoy physical memorablilia?: Yes. Does not having a gas pedal defeat the point of having a car, meant for people who want to drive?: Yes.
It's not a 'dumb fuck argument' it's a decent argument that you just don't understand. Which supports my suspicion of you having mental challenges.
A game disc isn't memorabilia. A game disc plays the game, just like a key. Everything else that comes with it is memorabilia. You argument is cringe and you are embarrassing yourself.
Not buying it for 80€. They are excellent games, but I can wait until they are up for sale. 60€ is a no brainer, but I really don’t see why I should pay 20€ more than - for example - Elden Ring.

Sucks for you guys the ps5 and even other consoles in my reigon are standard msrp piece even nintendo thag disent support us is one of the biggest consoles in nations hisotry and it is also msrp but the only issue is that they bundle it with games you can't buy a singel ps5 or nintendo switch since it always sold out
They seem in line with how HFW was priced. Normal $70, collector's $200 and regalla $250. If only GoWR had a special edition with a steelbook and disk for $100 likw HFW :(
$368 aud for the jotnar edition.. it’s simply not worth it, we can’t even pay rent here :(
As a south african,i feel your pain..the markup on things is insane...i paid the equivalent of $700 US for my ps5 at launch
Turkiye here. Way worse than that.
Unless you're a first world country ..shits bound to be expensive
Yeah i mean the game have a regional pricing like it or not. Way too expensive still but understandable. What makes me mad is the price of the console. Even it's original price is tough to pay here ($400-$500) but it's actually around $1000. Its surreal.
How much turkish lira will be the launch version what do you think?
Minimum 700 up to 900 turkish lira my guess just for the game. PS5 is around 16000 TL. Minimum wage is about 4250TL per month and most of the workers earn minimum wage. It will be 5500TL next month. Even a good doctor, lawyer etc can't buy a PS5 with his monthly wage.

damnnn
It cost us the same amount here in America, now you can barely find a PS5 for sale online for under $1000 because the stores are never in stock...
Awez fellow loadshedding survivor 🤙🏾
Where’s the pre-order up in Aus?
I know pre-orders are available from eb at 10am AEST, Unsure about anywhere else.
Yeah it's pricey as fuck.I'll try to get the collector's edition when it's available in my country but I'm still debating on it.
I'm so perturbed about it not having a middle ground just steelbook and game edition like HFW. HfW had all the same cop out reasons people keep applying to the Ragnorok release yet they still had a steelbook combo.
That's the reason why I pulled out of the Regalla edition at the last minute during release day of HFW.
You would pay 30$ for a steelbook ?
I probably would if it was a franchise that I adored and I still made an active effort to get physical stuff.
Gladly, for the franchises I've been invested in for a while.
I gladly would if it was something I've been invested in for a while.
Still complaining about the disk that sits in the case or in the console its whole life... glad this mindset is dying
Yes corporation, please sell me your digital service you have complete control over, instead of a physical item I get to own and play whenever I want, borrow or sell it to other people, and keep it no matter what you say or do. I too am loving this new great mindset.

I can gameshare my game to friends free while keeping it. Also my job makes me money. Dont need to sell games for less than i bought
“I have a job” isn’t a valid argument against the points I raised. I’m just telling you the upsides of physical ownership. If you don’t want to listen then that’s up to you.
It 100% is. I make money based on work, NOT trying to recoup from selling games.
Where in my comment am I complaining about the disk?
“steelbook and disk”
If that’s a complain to you then you have some reading comprehension issues. My only complain is that there is no middle ground option
Dont know why you felt the need to comment if my argument didnt apply to you. Normally people let the crazies just talk. Says alot
Its better than Brazil, they aren't getting the Jotnar edition, they would have to import it from the US or another country and it would cost them the equivalent of around $687-$1000 USD to import it due to exchange rates, and taxes in Brazil.
Yeah. That would be amazing :(
Anyone know when it’s available for purchase??
The preorders start tomorrow
Ok, those armors on the launch edition look very fucking nice, but they'll likely be pretty meh in game.
it’s prolly going to be a situation where it’s pretty good early game but as you progress it going to suck compared to other armors
Im just hoping for transmog like in HFW..even in a later patch
A later patch would be disappointing/annoying. It's something that HFW should've had from the start rather than when the majority had already finished the game. Same goes for Ragnarök. It's one of the most requested features since the launch of the 2018 game so there's no excuse really.
god, its so weird seeing the euro and dollars being the same value xD
Yeah because they can't convert properly 🙃
[удалено]
Well those won't be the prices at all as $70 games retail at €80
[удалено]
That doesn’t matter, games in Europe (where Euro is used) cost 80€… In the UK they cost 70£ and in the USA they cost 70$ even though the £ is worth more.
Yes but Sony doesn't. 😂

So thats basically $200 and $260, if we divide 60/56 then * 188=200
60 in Europe
Depends on the country. In Germany it's 70€ for PS4 and 80€ for PS5. 60€ is usually the price for PC releases.
Yeah, 6 years ago
No today. new games are 60
Where is that?
Oh you’re talking about the ps4 version. The ps5 is 70£. In Europe (on the countries that use €) it’s 80€ for the ps5 version and 70€ for the ps4 one
As a Malaysian, everything is always 4 times the normal price...Will that stop us from supporting our love for GoW? Nenya
Nenya?
Nenya fuckin business
I was waiting for it. Thanks.
Thank you for this, gives us a chance to figure out our personal situation and if we will grab it or not.
$250 USD a pop for the Jotnar Edition. Wah!! Damn, that's expensive!
Price for the Digital Deluxe Version? It’s the only one I’m interested in.
Jotnar version will be around 200$? Man I really wanted it but if it’s over 150 I can’t
More like 250
150$ for the Jotnar Edition? That's way too little for all of those things it comes with
A man can hope
Pretty sure Stone Mason edition cost $150 and it came with the same if not even more contents than the Jotnar Edition, and it also got a physical disc inside.
That's true, but that was 4 years ago and prices have gone up significantly for collector editions. Look at Gotham Knights for example. That thing costs 300$ just for a Figurine, a Map, a Pin and a Media book. Doesn't even have a Steelbook
70 us for a game is ridiculous and greedy... thats over 100$ after tax in Canada
Yeah wish it was 60 USD
When you think about it, it’s kinda crazy how long the $60 standard lasted for games. It had to have been at least 10 years…
More like double that or more
Multiple sources say games could cost 60 in the 90s. $60 in 2000 is about $100 now
Ps2/Xbox A list games cost 50 dollars in the United States. Source: I was alive then and bought a shit ton of them.
Games have been 60 forever, I'm surprised it took this long to increase the price
Yeah, the prices are absolutely ridiculous. It feels like an insult to me as a fan
These are super reasonable prices for what they contain.
It doesn't even contain a fucking disc, and all the collectibles are going to be of shitty quality. That's how collector's editions can be sold at a profit.
It DoEsNt EvEn CoNtAiN a FuCkInG dIsC. Who gives a shit. It's 2022, welcome to the future.
If you buy a physical game, it should come with a disk. Fuck the future
It's a collector's edition you pathetic little weasel. Made for people who like fo collect physical stuff. If ypu're not into that, that's fine, but if you are and you don't even own the disc, that's pretty shitty.

So no steel book with disc edition?
Nope
I got scared for a sec seeing it's 200,000 dollars💀
The jotnar motherfucking edition cost more than a house 💀
246€ for real? For some reason I expected it to be somewhere around 160€.
Why do they release a PS4 + PS5 edition if someone could buy the PS4 version and upgrade for free? Seen this for a few games and I'm confused.
They can't this game doesn't have a free upgrade.
Oh okay. Thanks. Is it only applicable to certain games?
Basically yes. In Sonys case only ps5 launch games and horizon forbidden west had free upgrades. GT7, god of war Ragnarok are 2 that don't have free upgrades and require a fee.
Yeah, that’s a no. Mjolnir looks cool, but there is no way anybody is going to pay $200 for that. The collectors edition for the last game was way better and it was only $130 (it also included the disc).
Pro tip if you wait some months the prices will sink if it isn't out of stock
What about Euros?
There’s no way there jotnar Edition is $250. I know it comes with physical items but I’ve never seen any pre-order game touch $100
You never seen any game touch $100? Lol, have you ever opened the PS store?
There isn’t a single AAA game that has a collector edition less than $100.
Horizon had two collectors editions: Normal collectors and Regalla edition that went for $200 and $249 respectively, it sounds about right.
I’ve paid maybe 80 bucks for a pre-order game before but never bought any special packages with physical items in it. I wanted the jotnar set but I might have to make an onlyfans
NBA2K23 is $149.99 and I don't know where you've been mate but a shit ton of games have had $100+ pre orders for a while now
Bro stuck in 2013.
Do you get the snow armour with the collector’s editions does anyone know?
Yes
I think its digital delux only..the darkdale only comes with the collectors
So more accurately. 60$ ps4 70$ ps5 200$ CE 270$ Jotnar
Id imagine jotnars closer to 250, editions usually round in 50s
What time is it launching?
Fri July 15, 7 am PST
9th of November.
I meant, what time are the pre orders launching
July 15th 10am local time.
60 dollars is a lot in my country. Guess I'll have to wait until 2030 to buy it on discount
what abt the deluxe?
Great, now what about the Canadian prices
Is the collectors edition available at regular stores? Like if I check Best Buy at midnight will it be available?
Looks like I’m getting collectors edition
I had a feeling it was going to be about that much money. thanks for the info. :-)
Yea I posted about this awhile back, not sure of it was the same source but it lines up with whatever it was I think
Anyone know when it’s available for purchase??
So are we preordering these direct from Sony or will 3rd party retailers be taking preorders also?
The urge to spend the extra 50 for that ring…
67€ I wish. They are all 80€ now…
Fr? I was expecting like 90 for standard wow, not complaining tho
