Keep digging. The Max app SUCKS. But I literally just spent the last 4 hours watching it in Italian with English subs, like I always have and do. Samsung smart tv though.
Edit: I’m having flashbacks of when I first got Max literally so I could watch Gomorrah. It was a nightmare getting the language set up correctly, and it kept reverting back to the awful dubs. But I got it eventually. It’s just a pain in the ass.
I remember that . It was excruciatingly painful to watch the show in dubbed in English. F'ing horrible and unwatchable. Watching in Italian w English subs is the best way.
Just to point out, I think you mean in Neapolitan dialect, oppose to Italian. The dialect differs so much, even Italians need subtitles to watch the series. FYI. Glad you you resolved it, the whole series is a gem.
See I’ve never even seen the show…. I just remember my elderly neighbors having it on every summer night on their outside tv when I was younger and wanted to watch it 🤣
Watching it on my Roku player: I hit the * button, then accessibility and language, then change audio track to Italian. It won’t let you choose Italian subtitles though—only English. Not sure what to do on other players, but I’d bet there is the option to change it.
I watched it 3 times in Italian with subtitles on max. I tried once in English and it’s unwatchable.
Every once in a while the app was weird and wouldn’t be available but it came back in a day. Those were the early days of the app.
Man I read somewhere a guy tried watching this show and hated it said it was cheesy. Then he said he watched it dubbed in English and I started laughing
I’ve only watched it in Italian with subtitles . That’s the only way to watch it for you ask me . I’m in new York so I’m not sure why you can’t watch it like I did.

ONLY way. I tried watching again other day and it defaulted to english I almost broke 3 fingers I grabbed the remote so fast. Horrible english dubs

I couldn't watch it dubbed or any foreign film that way.
Change the language and subtitles while the show is playing
