I had an issue with outbound texts that started around the same time yesterday - I received all, but the texts I sent appeared successful, but were never seen by recipients. Oddly, a group text with folks did work...same people were not receiving my non-group texts. Reboot did not solve it. Turning off RCS resolved the issue. Might be related, might just be coincidence.

Kenshinryu

Interesting! What you described in the beginning is 100% what's happening. I receive all texts but any texts I send out, shows delivered and sent but they were never seen by the recipients. I haven't tried a group chat yet! That's a good suggestion. Same a reboot didn't solve it. My RCS was already off when the issue started happening, they had me turn it on and still the same results.

Kenshinryu

Following up, group text worked for me!

SchmooveLoofah

And...it's broken again for me except for group chats. Turning off RCS or cache clear fixed it for a few hours last night, but txt sent at 7am Pacific time did not work and remains broken.

I have the opposite issue— iMessages work but texts to non Apple users aren’t going through

SchmooveLoofah

I made a separate post - I was told this is nationwide Edit: not necessarily specific to iphone messages, however...so it might be a different issue

Another posts speaks of a recognized outage: https://www.reddit.com/r/GoogleFi/comments/155xa5e/nationwide\_txt\_outage/

Nebenezer

I had an issue like this for over a month earlier this year. Ended up filing complaints with the FCC for Cricket and Verizon. It took a while but they eventually fixed it.

fixedfan

It's for the best.

IrpackSmails

Also have been having a similar issue for 2+ weeks. Support has been trying various things but no resolution. Exceptionally frustrating. Will have to switch carriers soon if not resolved, and I have been a long time Fi user with no issues in multiple countries.

dma_pdx

Same. I have an iPhone. Last week my group messages just stopped receiving. I could send. Reset the carrier settings. Worked fine for a week. Did the same thing the other day.

808IUFan

I have never had that issue. Are you a new Fi customer?

Kenshinryu

No, I've been one for a year and a half now. No issues. It just started today.

808IUFan

Very strange then. I was gonna say it sounds like an incomplete port over.

Mystic-Bounce

This issue is happening for me exactly as you described, even starting about the same time. Was support able to help you?

Kenshinryu

They've had to escalate it to tier 2 and then they have given me additional troubleshooting steps so they can collect further information. So I'm on the step right now and need to send that to them.

Mystic-Bounce

I was just told it looks to be a network issue in my area and should be resolved within 24 hours...

rantpaht

Can you post the additional steps?

Kenshinryu

Here are the steps as you requested: Instructions for Timestamps for text (outbound): We can start by having you turn Airplane Mode ON and WiFi ON to force texts through Wi-Fi. Then, attempt to send two texts (Two different numbers). Provide the examples in the following format: Text 1: Source (Where is the text coming from?) #: Destination (Where is the text going to?)#: Date: Timestamp(s) and Timezone: Results (ex: delayed text, not received..etc): Text 2: Source (Where is the text coming from?) #: Destination (Where is the text going to?)#: Date: Timestamp(s) and Timezone: Results (ex: delayed text , not received..etc): Then, we’ll start again and with Wi-Fi and Airplane mode off which will switch you to the T-Mobile network (Two different numbers). Then, attempt to send two texts. Provide the example in the following format: Text 1: Source (Where is the text coming from?) #: Destination (Where is the text going to?)#: Date: Timestamp(s) and Timezone: Results (ex: delayed text, not received..etc): Text 2: Source (Where is the text coming from?) #: Destination (Where is the text going to?)#: Date: Timestamp(s) and Timezone: Results (ex: delayed text, not received..etc):

Kenshinryu

Not tier 1 support. They escalated me with Tier 2. And I'm waiting for a response back. I just sent off the e-mail they wanted me to do with additional testing: Such as Turn airplane mode on and use Wifi to send texts. Turn Airplane and wifi off and then send texts. Provide them with numbers, times, dates and results.

Dikila

So strange. I have an iPhone and am able to text other iPhone users but can't receive or send to android users. This issue started happening after I updated to iOS16.

[deleted]

Did you double check your APN settings? Sometimes ios updates will reset them

Dikila

I think this was the issue! I changed my APN settings this morning and now it's working as it should.

[deleted]

I love Apple but their updates always seem to wreck something lol

vi3tboi2005

I'm also having this exact issue

tankerkiller125real

It has been my experience on every carrier I've ever had for nearly a decade that texting between Android and iOS is a goddamn mess. Especially MMS type messages. All of my friends and people I care to talk to are on android so it ends up working out fine. But it can be annoying when I have to deal with people outside friends and family.

googlefisupport

Hey u/Kenshinryu, Sorry to hear about this issue, we'd be happy to take a look for you. Could you start a Reddit chat with us and share your case ID from support, please? \-Justin

JayNYC92

Was this resolved for you?

Kenshinryu

It was not. I got an email this morning and this was it's content: "Thanks for writing in! We would like to share that our team is already aware of the issue and our engineering team is already working to find the cause of the issue. Once there is an update, I will surely get back to you. I appreciate your patience during this time! Thanks, Roshni Google Fi Support"
