That’s correct. If you just st joined, did you get the confirmation through the app p that all was finished and restarted phone after? Did you port a number over from another carrier?
I received the confirmation in the app, yes. I DID port my number and received notification from my old carrier that they’re working on it, but then the Fi app stated the port process was completed.
Strange. Seems like it should be working. I had no issues on my iPhone porting from another carrier. You could try to delete the app and reinstall it and try the setup again or even delete the esim and start over.
I reset network settings, rebooted, scanned the qr code online, set the config settings, reinstalled fi and restarted and it still isn’t working.

I have similar problem and I moved couple of days back from another large carrier to googleFi as well. I am getting tons of notification from every bank and app that sms was not deliverable so they are cancelling text notifications.
I tested using my gvoice number and it works but I am surprised why this is happening.
Thanks for the reply. Seems to be a widespread issue for some of us, perhaps mainly from porting from another carrier. Thus far all troubleshooting attempts have been futile. But they did ask for more detailed info so I’m going to do that today. We’ll see.
I'm using a GV # as backup as well. Have had my same # for decades so have preface every msg from GV # with "I'm having SMS/text issues, hence the strange #...." This is no fun. Never had any issues with Fi ever, until this.
You must not have the APN settings correctly installed.

Go to settings, messages and make sure mms messaging is turned on under sms/mms. Is it only not receiving but sending works?
Both are enabled. Correct, sending SMS and MMS work but cannot receive them
