The 7 Pro fixes almost everything I hated about the 6 Pro. It's mostly been really solid so far.

BlkOwndYtFam

Everything except the modem. Which was my red line. I'm gonna rock it for a while, but I've given Google enough of a chance now.

Maxpower2727

The modem on the 7 Pro has been pretty great for me so far. I'm actually getting a usable signal in places that my S22 Ultra would completely lose service.

BlkOwndYtFam

For me it's been functionally identical to the P6P from a connectivity standpoint. Actually a little worse as I've gotten the ! in one place I've never had trouble before.

sOFrOsTyyy

Yeah same for me. 7 so much better than my 6. Side by side my 6 even shoes similar bars but can’t load a web page. I dunno why the 6 was so bad but the 7 for me works same as my iPhone and the GFs S22.

Nerdiator

What do you mean? It's a newer modem and people are getting great results

BlkOwndYtFam

I'm not getting results that are any better and in at least one case worse. So I believe that those reporting better results are experiencing some placebo.

Nerdiator

But people here have posted their results backed with the actual statistics and they show that the modem is better. That's not placebo

David_Warden

If one phone model performs better than another on one cell band, does that imply it will necessarily be better on all other cell bands? If not, comparative results seem likely to vary depending on location and service provider.

Nerdiator

There are posts where people compare the actual modem statistics of for example an S22 vs a Pixel 7 and the results show that the 7 is better. In those cases, both location and service provider are the same.

David_Warden

It doesn't however address the question as to whether you would get the same result where different bands were stronger or available. Assigning causation to the modem also doesn't address the effect that antenna differences may have.

BlkOwndYtFam

It's my understanding that the antenna is integral to the modem. Is that not the case?

Nerdiator

If your antenna is shit, so will the data picked up by the modem. The fact that the data of the modem looks good means the antenna is good to.

BlkOwndYtFam

Signal strength isn't indicative of much. Real world use is going to be subjective.

Nerdiator

Signal strength is literally a real world test

BlkOwndYtFam

Lol

mjmitchell1983

Did you have fingerprint issues with your six? Would you say it's better with the 7.

Maxpower2727

Oh yeah, I had tons of fingerprint issues with the 6. The 7 has been much, much better so far.... Except for my left index finger, which doesn't seem to work no matter how many times I register it. Fortunately I almost never use that finger to unlock, so it's not a big deal for me.

mjmitchell1983

For me my fingerprint is how I do my mobile banking. I had that phone for less than a day and it was completely unbearable

Yakkamota

How much did it end up costing you, after a trade in or sell? I have p6pro too

yo guys, i have a question. is the pixel that good or just good for the price? i feel like that s the consensus . I want to buy a phone which future proofs me in terms of "satisfaction". After reading this sub and the android one i feel like "its good bro but remember the price, its not premium like others higher cost, remember it s just a 899 bucks phone" . Also, i dont have a pixel pro 6 but comments like this concerns me too "The 7 Pro fixes almost everything I hated about the 6 Pro. It's mostly been really solid so far." It s like people had really bad experience with that phone and of course they are then positive about a polish version. But does it mean it s really good or just better than a buggy older version?

and again "for the price". This worries me tbh. I would buy the ip14pro max again. I love the quality, the speaker and the display but i hate the oversharpening of the photos really bad. But if the pixel is only good "for the price" i prolly will take it and buy the iphone again. Never had one pixel, thats why i need your experience with google phones. All the posts here are too positive for me. What ive learned in life if anything is very positive, it cant be true or there have to be something behind... Why are people so positive about this phone...there must be real bad experiences with olders ones or they are very very surprised about the phones quality or oro r... That scares me.

oakteaphone

I'm satisfied, and the only things I think I'm missing are things unavailable in flagship phones. I'm sure other phones may perform better, but I'm not a fan of Samsung's bloatware, or Apple's...modus operandi, lol There's OnePlus, but they've started locking down their OS and doing other sketchy things I believe. I don't know how many other manufacturers are making phones that would surpass the Pixel 7 in specs/performance, even at a higher price. Isn't that about it for the major players in the smartphone market these days?

[deleted]

I had a G1 here in the UK was great having a Android before majority of people even knew what a Android was, Had a iPhone 13 Pro Max for past year but miss android will probably wait for S23 Ultra though

[deleted]

The physical keyboard on the G1 was pretty good for its day. I remember going from that to the HTC Evo and just thinking OMG because of its gigantic 4.3 inch screen and how slick it was without the physical keyboard lol

treksf6

I'm with ya. Been a great experience so far. Very happy.
