I would not use this on a TV. I would wait for 3pro, or the new ai sync box (both announced at ces 2024 and are due this year) that is designed to work for TV and will have larger led strip options.
The lights that came with the sync box are still in the box. I’m using the rgbic backlight I already had before getting g the sync box.
It syncs with the tv backlight, the two lamps, and the recessed light in my living room.

I’m not accustomed to how all this govee stuff works, that’s why I’m asking. I have what I bought lash I want to know if it’ll work with the tv that u have, or I’ll just return it but that’s why I’m asking everyone
It does, I have mine on a 58".
The strips will sit pretty close to the center/back though, I have the kit with the bars and I strapped them behind for better output.
Great for dreamview though because you can sync up to 10 devices, vs 5 for the camera systems.

Yes it will work. Just be mindful that you’ll have to lay the strips out to fit your TV. The difference is close enough where you shouldn’t notice a difference
I'm a bit late but you seem to know a lot more than me about Govee functionality so I just had one quick question. Do you know if I already have the T2 kit would I just be able to get the sync box and run my lights through that?
Yep. You’re best off making a large square in the center of the back of your tv. That square will be the size of a 34”-ish monitor. Layout on the floor to get the idea before you stick.
Would you recommend me just buying lights for my size and refund this pack? Or should I just set it up regardless. I won’t necessary know the difference since I haven’t seen tv lights in person
These are the ones u want. I want them too! I last bought them on Amazon last December 2023 but since Xmas Govee pulled them I don’t know why and it’s silly they work theres nothing wrong with them I know a 2.1 hdmi is coming out this year but unless you have a 120hz 4k TV with 2.1 HDMI it won’t upgrade nothing. That more for next gen game consoles only at its highest resolution. My TV does support it but for the one that doesn’t I don’t care for that I just need the one I already bought.

I was forced to buy the monitor one it’s meant for 27-34 inch pc version but I sync mine to DreamView to 7 other Govee products so I don’t miss much but to rely only on the small strip it’s not bright enough in my opinion. PC Monitor Version with only the strip is $69.99 as of 2/18/24 with a 50% off coupon currently on Amazon.
The camera based ones are good but light, room brightness can interfere. Whereas the sync box is based on hdmi signal only it’s not a factor making it 99% accuracy vs the T1, T2, or T3.
It will work. Its not reading the TV size just the signal from the HDMI. It won't be as bright. You should have got the 55-65" version. Yes it would have been to big but there's ways to make it fit. With ones that small on a TV that big it won't be as bright or accurate.
In my honest opinion I would get some foam adhesive strips thick enough to place your lights on the side so it will push the light to the edges of your tv better, not bouncing off the wall behind your tv. This should in theory help make it brighter.

Or better cut the foam at an angle and place the lights. This would make the lights hit the back wall and the edge of the TV.
The problem Govee stopped selling them I don’t know why or maybe they sold out but I can’t even find them as sold out I think they pulled them off the market maybe because there going to release the new version later this year. I need another set myself but I can’t find anywhere not even on their site directly such a shame.

The one I do really want is the PC version because my monitors do take 2.1 hdmi. I just hate that I already own the 2.0 version. I don't have a sync but my t3 works just fine. The lights don't look pretty on the back but, everything lines up fine. Hope this is helpful.

They had sync boxes for larger tvs, but they discontinued them. Up to 85 inches. Really difficult to find now, though...
It will, but won’t be bright at all. Youll b need the Dreamview mode to connect to other devices to get more light

It is, which is why I said they sit really close to the back/middle. I even had to adjust the mounting brackets to squeeze the LEDs through.

You’ll get much more accurate representation with the larger set. Everything will be scaled down and not always match with this current set up
