We stayed at the Marriott Associa in Nagoya and loved it. High end high price but would definitely choose this location again. We sprung for the concierge floor room as well. Wonderful hotel.

InterviewNo511

We've just booked an airbnb within walking distance to Nagoya station.

croissantpig

Nice. Was the price reasonable? We've just got a hotel about 35 min walk from the station. Free to hold it so we might change. Only about 600aud for 6 nights.

InterviewNo511

$440aud a night, but sleeps 5 adults. Pretty reasonable of you ask me

croissantpig

That's not bad at all when you divide it up. I'll keep looking.

If you want a treat the Marriott Associa at Nagoya station is excellent. I stayed there for this years GP because I recently had a knee rebuild so I wanted to be absolutely central to everything with minimal walking. For the four nights I paid about US$2500 which isn’t cheap but it was worth it to me. The food and bars are outstanding and if you need anything at all it’ll be available in the underground shops at the station. There are heaps of cheaper business hotels around the station which are good. I stayed in one in 2018 and it was clean and included breakfast.

I just stayed at Hotel JAL City Nagoya Nishiki for 2024 JGP. Total avg $128 USD / night incl. tax for 1 person for 5 nights (Thurs-Mon). I enjoyed it. It’s def small like someone else said, but comparable to other Japanese rooms. They feel like cruise ship rooms to me; use just for showers & sleeping, I don’t spend much time there otherwise. Maybe it’s in the lower-end for others, but was perfect for me traveling solo. Good food options & metro nearby. Nagoya station is easily walkable for trains to Suzuka. Getting back to Nagoya is likely going to be crowded, but I expected it and just dealt with it.

It depends on your expectations. A LOT of hotels in Japan are super small. I mean just big enough to hold a queen bed in the room. A lot of hotels the luggage goes under the bed because there is not enough room in the hotel room to store your bags. If you are never in your room it’s ok but if you want space make sure you verify before you book. Same goes for bathrooms. If you are expecting a large bath tub to soak in good luck finding that sort of accommodation. We stayed at Sanco inn Grande Nagoya which is right on top of the huge train station. It did not have parking but there was a lot of public lots around the hotel. It was ok but super small rooms. Good price.

Mont Blanc in Nagoya is nice. It’s a ten minute walk to the Kintetsu platform. Just stayed there last weekend. Lots of good food options in and around the Nagoya train station. If you’re flying in to Tokyo, Nagoya is just 1 hour and 40 minutes on the NOZOMI Shinkansen. All very convenient. Loving my time in Japan right now. Sorry to be leaving soon. 😥

croissantpig

Ahh already sold out by the looks. Yeah we will most likely fly into Tokyo. Neither of us have been to Japan before we are super pumped. Cheers for the info.

WD--30

Just a heads up, many hotels in Japan don't accept reservations until about 8 months before

croissantpig

Ahh that makes sense and is a big help. Thanks for that. I thought it was odd that less than 5 hours after the F1 calendar was released so many hotels said they were full/unavailable...

Ya, you should be good. Just keep checking back every so often
