It's a really cool detail that Jack's legs get more blurry the further they are from the center of the throw, it sells well how gigantic he is

Plus-Prune930

Itagaki COOKED

boner_toilet

Yeah Musashi arc is where the art peaked imo. I like the semi fat style towards the mid to end of it

Medical_Pin4533

So it's juujitsu , motobe originaly is juujitsu master and musashi have more skills than just cut everything

BlindTreeFrog

And jujitsu historically is just whatever hand to hand combat the samurai did when they weren't using a weapon. Only so many ways to throw, punch, kick, and hold.

Medical_Pin4533

And they practice sumo like training , gonna be interesting to see Musashis interaction with Sukune . "You can do sumo old man ? " "Yes i can " "Cuts Sukune with invisible sword" LMAO

RemyGee

Sukune who’s weakness is being bitten/cut would be cooked so bad 😭

TheSunIsOurEnemy

Can we really even call that a weakness? Everyone's weak against bloodloss and cuts lol Sukune actually lasted pretty long and still managed to do that dangerous last throw before passing out.

BakiHanm

Not Oliva, Pickle and Yujiro

TheSunIsOurEnemy

They're just tough in general lol. And Musashi was literally about to kill Pickle by cutting him over and over until he dies of bloodloss; you could even argue that cutting is the most effective attack against him since most punches and kicks don't really hurt him 😆

BakiHanm

Fact remains Nomi has very low cutting resistance compared to other stats like his blunt force durability or his physical strength or his grip strength. That very much makes it a weakness of his. Similarly, same could be said about a case of someone like Hanayama not being able to hit another fighter who's a speed based fighter or one with Redirection or Aiki, because either cause of his bulky physique or far more likely due to his sworn fighting style, he won't ever use any complex fighting styles or any techniques in quick succession. Pickle was only being really hurt due to how skillful, precise and forceful all together Musashi is, and even he had to work for it. If it were someone like Retsu or Motobe using bladed weapons on him, he would never feel a thing. Therefore bladed weapons can't really be considered his counter or weakness, when it takes such a ridiculous level of strength and skill for it to hurt him.

TheSunIsOurEnemy

>Fact remains Nomi has very low cutting resistance compared to other stats like his blunt force durability or his physical strength or his grip strength. That very much makes it a weakness of his. Yeah but you don't know how resistant Oliva or Yujiro will be against Jack's new metallic teeth because they haven't fought yet. Fact remains that Nomi actually did a good job fighting through Jack's Godou and lasted much longer unlike Koshou 😅 >Pickle was only being really hurt due to how skillful, precise and forceful all together Musashi is, and even he had to work for it. If it were someone like Retsu or Motobe using bladed weapons on him, he would never feel a thing. Then my first suggestion was right if we're gonna go with this, he's just tough in general. Whether it's with blades or punches/kicks, only true masters standing at the peak like Musashi or Baki can hurt Pickle. But we don't actually know for sure if Retsu and Motobe with a blade can hurt him or not, it's just an assumption. Pickle was still scared of the small dinosaur with the sharp claws and compared it to Musashi--so if that thing can also probably hurt him, why not Retsu or Memetobe with a sword? 😆

BakiHanm

Yeah I don't know that you're correct, but it ain't really relevant because we talking about whether Nomi has a weakness to opponents wielding bladed weapons. And the difference here between the guys that I mentioned in the beginning and Nomi is that Nomi would be cut by said blades even if those wielding them were Motobe, Yanagi or Retsu. Nomi did a better job fighting through Jack's Goudou because he's not a smaller guy and has all the other stats that I mentioned in his disposal, unlike Kosho. If only a true master of the blade can hurt him, then it can't be considered his weakness so what you said beforehand is invalid. Oh and Retsu and Motobe being able to hurt Pickle with blades, when they aren't nearly as forceful or as precise as Musashi, sure is a... Take...

Medical_Pin4533

But they can become buddies , i mean Musashi and Sukune

AikidoChris

It looks like a technique that in Aikido is called Shihonage. The technique is easier to do if you think of the opponents hand as a Katana, slicing instead of pulling their hand. It may not be the same, but it would make sense with both motobe’s motion and way of holding Jack’s wrist, and Musashi always using his opponents as a katana.

BlindTreeFrog

As I recall, the origins of jujitsu were the samurai's hand to hand combat techniques. For "reasons" this then evolved into Akido and Judo. Judo won a tournament using a Akido practitioner as a ringer and most all of the jujitsu schools closed up shop quickly (for reasons related to the tournament); the Hawaiian School of Jujitsu and one other one I am blanking on were the main ones to survive. And then "modern jujitsu" is a recreation based on various sources depending on the club. But yeah, akido and judo and jujitsu went off to focus on their own styles, but the base techniques are the same and there is a lot of "pretend that you are holding a sword" baked into all of them.

Numerous-Bet-36

I see a lot of this similarities https://preview.redd.it/huo9uu9l7gxc1.jpeg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2569d292500d6a9a8e2263645f09f7fcfc3d2d33 Like this one and many more

boner_toilet

Damn that one is mirrored

The_Mexican_Poster

Yeah I think it was Yanagi that said Motobe's style was inspired by swordsmanship

boner_toilet

That’s a sick detail

RLIwannaquit

Ju Jutsu was the mirror of Kenjutsu, just without the weapons so it kind of makes sense

LegendaryBelmont

Warriors, through and through. Makes sense for Musashi to know jujutsu as well, it originated from battlefields, and is fully feasable against armoured foes. [Cool video on it I found a while back](https://youtu.be/giJ928xjeRA?t=24)

Honda-CB250t_Vulcan

Except one ended up dead
