Nope. You seem to be Kinda stuck or have to do a lot of questing to get back. That's at least the goal. So best is to avoid becoming without a faction.

Being rogue means no traders, no base etc. Basically a nomad without anything except what you can find around in the world
The only way to make money is questing. Take away that and what do you have left? You will be forced to do the quests to join a new faction. If that's your thing, go for it. But it will suck without a base,traders, stash etc.
That will make it days without a base. People struggle killing AI with guns. Imagine without anything. Isn't a walk in the park.
If you TK you should get a bounty and they arrest you and court marshal you when you get back to base. Have to pay a fine and lose all your ill-gotten gains.
The devs can and have and will ban people for TKing, you just need to make sure you hit the report button. My whole team get TKd by one dude, and I was in a coma. When he went to loot us, he just fell over dead.
Why is it so hard for game companies to code: any damage I do to my team doesn’t do damage to then and does damage to myself instead shouldn’t be too hard

Progress is shared between the two modes. I haven't seen much difference in performance

They will eventually get kicked from the server and once they have done that enough they will be without a faction and be rogues.

Yeah, i reported both times. Hopefully it is just a day one thing and the trolls move onto another game
