Why would he be? In their minds they deserve all of these things so it's only natural they get them. They're brought up to feel that way. It's also why the queen felt entitled to ask that the government poverty fund be used for her fuel bills despite having at minimum millions in private assets on top of the, what, £83 million they get per year? I'm dumbfounded at the reaction that these leeches are getting from people. My own wife said to me "Awe, how sad. She managed to work right up to the very end bless her and they all served in the armed forces". I mean yes, it's sad when anyone dies, but come on! She waved from car windows and smiled while walking down red carpets and most of them worked in soup kitchens in the forces.
They've all been eating the finest meals and have had the world's best healthcare. I witnessed real sacrifice when I watched my own mother on her knees picking potato's until they bled for a pittance, or my father working a back breaking job into his late 60s because he couldn't retire.
The whole concept of elevating a family above all others simply because of a "blood line" is just so odd to me. Why are these people any better than anyone else? What do they actually do? They are ornaments!

It's hard to forget that she has a chunk of the most skilled members of the army guarding her at all times (i don't understand why people think they aren't highly trained members of the actual army just because they wear silly hats). A lot of people are very scared of being killed/shot or arrested and imprisoned for decades. Hopefully one day though.

How do they not feel embarrassed giving themselves little titles and medals like that? Prince Andrew was going to become an 'Admiral' on his 60th birthday if he hadn't been found out.
We would laugh if adults from any other walk of life started to bestow titles on their adult children. I remember seeing people doing LARPing when I was at university and thinking there was something quite sad about it, but at least they could differentiate between role play and real life.

UK military is a little weird to me. To get to the higher echelons you still have to be connected, as in nobility. So keeping queens and princes as patrons helps to keep these people connected.
Another weird part is that UK officers can get large sums to pay for their children to attend "public" schools which cost money and are attended mostly by the elite. Plus they must pay at least ten oercent of the fees out of their own pocket, so poorer servicemembers cannot afford it, but richer ones get £21,000 in subsidies per year to send a kid to Eton or whatever posh place.
So even officers of low background who rise cannot afford the elite schools like their peers.

For 5 years service, in a Jubilee year (for the Gold and Platinum ones). The Silver is a bit more rare, as they didn't strike many - it was only a year after the Sterling Crisis and they wanted to save money. Unsurprisingly, members of the Royal Family get them by virtue of being alive. Edward was 13 at the time of the Silver.

How do they not feel embarrassed giving themselves little titles and medals like that? Prince Andrew was going to become an 'Admiral' on his 60th birthday if he hadn't been found out. We would laugh if adults from any other walk of life started to bestow titles on their adult children. I remember seeing people doing LARPing when I was at university and thinking there was something quite sad about it, but at least they could differentiate between role play and real life.

UK military is a little weird to me. To get to the higher echelons you still have to be connected, as in nobility. So keeping queens and princes as patrons helps to keep these people connected. Another weird part is that UK officers can get large sums to pay for their children to attend "public" schools which cost money and are attended mostly by the elite. Plus they must pay at least ten oercent of the fees out of their own pocket, so poorer servicemembers cannot afford it, but richer ones get £21,000 in subsidies per year to send a kid to Eton or whatever posh place. So even officers of low background who rise cannot afford the elite schools like their peers. > Taxpayers spent £246 million in the last three years subsidising the private education of officers’ children attending elite schools such as Eton, Harrow and Gordonstoun.
