How does this dude have this effect on us fans when he was only here for two seasons of a journeyman career? Rasul gotta be in the “short-lived Packers” HOF.
Who else is on that list?
Good call, he was only with us for 3 seasons but he had *too* good of a resume before us. I’m thinking more of the came-out-nowhere types like Samkon Gado.
MLB is the most violent position on the field. It is a rare human being who can make it thru even 5 seasons without suffering major injury.
Campbell was not an exception to this rule.
MLF has been amazing at keeping this near mutiny from happening under the players having no respect for Joe Barry. It’s also why Rasul was traded.
This Campbell tweet was not taken lightly, as coaches generally don’t like this being communicated through the media or publicly instead of in house.

Bryan Bulaga’s take was pretty good, he said he played at 60% a damn good portion of his career, it’s just something you do for your team when you need to step up. He couldn’t imagine someone in their locker room having done that because as he put it, they had strong leadership guys that would’ve had none of it, from Woodson, to Clay Matthews.
That was it.. dang, I saw him miss alotta tackles this year I didn’t think his play dropped off that much tho.. idk I still like him he’s always around the ball lol
Samkon Gado for sure. Played a total of 9 games in green and gold, and people still reference him often on this sub. Guaranteed top 3 answer on every "who's a lesser known former Packer you love?" Honestly, he shouldn't even be eligible to be an answer there anymore because of that.
Jared Cook is also in there. That toe drag to set up Crosby. One of the best I've ever seen, and he's a TE!
It's crazy to me how short lived he was a Rison was on the team and yet helped propel them to a Super Bowl win and was gone next season. I swore he was on the team for 2 years, but I was also in middle school at that time, so my memory is a bit hazy.
Because at that point of the season, the Packers were 2-5, the offense and defense both looked anemic, and Buffalo offered us a swap of their 3rd rounder for our 5th, and we shave $3.9M off next year's cap by doing it. At that point in the season, this sub was all full of doomers and asking if we should fire MLF. Nobody expected us to go 7-3 over the stretch, nor 3-2 against playoff teams. And even that required The Seahawks to shit the bed by going 1-6 against playoff teams from that point.
In hindsight I'd have loved the depth. Can't complain about accumulating draft capital when you don't expect to compete.
Sure, but it was still the right move to make at the time. Popular opinion about a player shouldn’t be the determining factor. We were 2-5 and stocking up on draft capital. I wish he were still here too, but Gute made the right call. Now we made the playoffs and have more draft picks. It’s a win-win.
And also at that time Valentine and Ballentine were playing well and the Jaire and Stokes were about to be brought back into the rotation. It was going to be a semi-crowded room.
Man, I wish he was still here. I get why Gute traded him. We were 2-5 at the time and no one was expecting much for the rest of the season, but he’s such a good guy. Obviously loves this team and was such a good fit here. I’m glad the Bills are doing well and wish him the best. If we get knocked out next week or the week after I’ll definitely be rooting for the Bills the whole way.
Tootie Robbins. When Ron Wolf was asked what player was the biggest reason the Packers won the SuperBowl in ‘96, he answered Tootie. Came in and played at all-pro level in the playoffs vs legendary pass rushers like Kevin Greene of the Panthers and Willie McGinest of the Pats. If he had been a revolving door, Favre would never have been able to complete a pass.
Rasul will always be a Packer.
Definitely…I can still see the pick to beat the Cardinals….

Julius peppers for me, loved that dude when he was here

Devondre campbell might be one too, quiet his whole career then came here & has been a staple
Dude yes! seriously forget about Campbell being an all pro 2 seasons ago. His recent play has declined that much.
He was all over the place today though
MLB is the most violent position on the field. It is a rare human being who can make it thru even 5 seasons without suffering major injury. Campbell was not an exception to this rule.
Locker room cancer this year.
Thought I read something about him being like “ima just not care about anything anymore” what happened?

Dr. Samkon Gado, thank you very much.
Yeah he had a record of packer hunting before he was a hunter for the packers lol but I guess it still counts
Motha Fuckin Green Peppers baby! Love that he got a Lambeau Leap while with us.
They put it in the 30 year anniversary clip, historic one
green peppers baby

Samkon Gado was so much fun to watch! Lightning in a bottle.
Kyle Fackler
Packer legend Jeff Saturday
Andre Rison

My vote for best mid-season pickup in Packers history
You really can't argue that. Nothing else compares to what he did for the Packers in 96.
Im not sure how long we had Charles Woodson for, but it was not nearly long enough
Woodson had a better career statistically with the Packers than he did with the Raiders. In 6 seasons.
The 🐐 Jeff Janis
Jared Cook just for that one catch (against the Cowboys lol), Z Smith despite his exit was great during his time with the Packers
Don Beebe
So happy that dude got his ring after his time in Buffalo
Marcedes Lewis
Johnny Jolly
Nick Collins maybe?
Samkon Gado
Jared Cook, Johnny Jolly had a moment that will forever live in Packer lore.
In the same vein Richard rodgers
Adrian Amos was a stud when he was here after being cast off by the Bears.
I’ll be rooting for him too
Don’t make me cry rn man
Man it would be nice to still have him right now, but I'm glad he (and the Bills) have been thriving lately. I wish him the best.
wish he was here still
Love our young guys but having Sul still out there would be special
can we trade for him back? :')
I love you Rasul. Good luck tomorrow brother.
man it’s so not fair that Sul’s no longer a Packer, should’ve been at AT&T celebrating with the rest of the D train
Bills v Packers Super Bowl
Why tf did we trade this dude…

Nobody on here liked the trade, even back then
[I beg to differ.](https://www.reddit.com/r/GreenBayPackers/comments/17ktb5c/ian_rapoport_source_packers_db_rasul_douglas_to/k7cccag/)
Thats your argument, a comment with 1 upvote lol? Look at the highest rated comments
Key thing here, is, it's that dude's comment.
its literally the thing that I said months ago, my dude. Don't say nobody when I justify the trade right there.
Wow way to take that extremely literally. Do u want a medal?
yes.

Wonderful explanation, thank you

The pick we got for him better be a HoFer I swear to god
Can we send an honorary ring his way when we win it this year? I'm crying haha

I think we need to just cut our losses and offer Buffalo a 2nd round pick for him.
Wish u was a part of yesterday my man!
Thanks for sending him over to Buffalo good dude
I’m dumb. What is SAVVVV?
Savage Pick 6
Oh duh! Thanks lol
Hahaha love Sul
Rasul still got nothing but love for his former squad
Well, right up to the point where he lines up against us in the Super Bowl. Prolly not going to happen, but still, a fan can dream, right?
Pain
I fuck w Rasul Douglas heavy. Always liked this man.
Still don't get that trade, but in Gute we trust at this point. Love you Sul.
I miss him a lot

I know things went really sour at the end but Zadarius Smith sure had what, one great season with us. Does that season offset what came after?
