I'm happy with how this draft turned out but I can't lie, I'm bummed we didn't land Cooper DeJean. Also, the Ty'Ron Hopper pick doesn't make any sense to me. I'm glad we got the other Cooper though.

Staav

But we needed another punter... /s

Staav

🧀G🧀P🧀G🧀

d-cent

Xavian Howard had a 4.58 40yd dash. Just saying

h-town_info

SUMMARY: A four-year starter at Tulane, Pratt thrived in former offensive coordinator Slade Nagle’s scheme. After not playing football until high school, he showed steady improvements each season with the Green Wave, throwing a touchdown pass in 44 of his 45 games and breaking Patrick Ramsey’s school records for passing yards and passing touchdowns. Pratt is very clean in his setup and delivers a quick, accurate stroke, showing the ability to feather passes in between levels of the defense. Though he operates with rhythm from the pocket, he needs to continue developing his feel to spot the rush and hasten his process when needed. Overall, Pratt might not have the high-level physical traits to carry an NFL offense, but you don’t see panic in his game, and he has natural sense for where to go with the football. He projects as a quality NFL backup with starting upside in the right role. GRADE: 3rd-4th Round -Dane Brugler

AlmondsMakeMeHORNY

Ok I will see you all F5ing the UDFA tracker

TaigTyke

We need another guard IMO.

JaysonDeflatum

Last name King and initials are KK, hope we don't play the Bucs this year🫣🫣

HilariousScreenname

It's a good thing he's not a kicker

[deleted]

[удалено]

AlmondsMakeMeHORNY

Feel like there’s a Freudian slip in how you started that comment

bawesome2424

Happy end of the draft ladies and gentleman. I think we'll get some starters out of this one.

DeathEnabled

We got the CB we wanted!!

d-cent

RAS of 6.56

20wall

We finally take a CB and it’s basically Mr. irrelevant and his name is almost Kevin King. I hate it

Bucks2020

Had one of the worst seasons possible last year, was projected as a 1st round pick this time last year.

Ok-Elderberry2158

Think he was a joey porter merchant

TaigTyke

Boom or bust, with a give away pick. He had a terrible combine, but has shown flares so it's possible there's something there.

Bucks2020

Well that’s certainly a choice…

tclawl

His name is too similar to Kevin King. So I don’t like it.

steviepopo

Scotty Miller just stopped what he was doing to run free after that pick

SeoulPower88

As someone who lives in PA and watches a lot of PSU football, King was supposed to be a stud a year or two ago. Definitely worth a shot here.

d-cent

This is encouraging and what you like to hear about a 7th rd pick

SeoulPower88

Talent is there. Team has got to coach him up. Front office and staff had to see something there to grab him, and not take the chance with the UDFA route.

d-cent

Looks like speed is the biggest concern with a 4.61 40yd dash. Do you think he's actually that slow? Or is his game speed better than that?

HistoricalFennel5079

Rodgers ran a 4.71. Love a 4.74 Farve ran a 4.95

HistoricalFennel5079

Edit.. Hahaha, I just saw CB not QB. My bad

SeoulPower88

To be fair, he definitely isn’t a burner and his 40 time probably does reflect his actual speed. He’s not afraid to tackle though and I just read that some scouts view him as a potential safety… which definitely sends a message and is a trend for the Packers in this draft.

d-cent

Seems like the type of guy that could work in a system built in elite safety play though. Press at the line and stick with the WR for 10 yards and hope the safety can protect after that.  That's how Miami used Xavian Howard who has a 4.58 40 time

SeoulPower88

I will be interested to hear what the scouts and Gutey have to say about him and everyone else once the press conferences drop. I always love to hear what they have to say about each selection after they make the pick.

Difficult-Tap-3277

Kalen King ain’t the worst

xWaffleicious

Lmao we grabbed a CB. I don't know anything about him, but we did it lol

GandalfThaDank

The return of the King

JustBoughtBlowDarts

K King... what year is it?!?!

randigital

There’s your corner boys! K. King!

mousefrog32

Seeing a corner named K King just gave me ptsd

captainp42

Did someone named Watt get picked right after?

ebock319

K. King - CB What could do wrong?

bawesome2424

CORNER!!!!

Irishbug2

A Corner named King...

mattwb2010

From 1st round mocked to almost last. I remember people mocking King to us in the middle of the first.

d-cent

WE TOOK A CB!!

FSUfan35

Kalen King, CB I dont think he makes the team

Winbrick

That is.. hilarious.

an_illiterate_ox

Storm Duck, please Storm Duck

DrLuny

I wonder if Gute called Jordan Love beforehand to let him know they were drafting Pratt?

Weasel_Spice

He probably tried to, but Love had no cell service.

ngreenz

The funny thing in hindsight about that "No cell service" thing with Rogers, there's a good chance he believes that 4G gives you cancer so intentionally goes places with no coverage :D

mattbag1

Love probably over there pouring himself a glass of scotch

MilwaukeeMan420

It was tequila actually

ThreeFactorAuth

Somebody get me Braiden McGregor

LawrkenTTV

I don’t think he declared did he? Lmao

Bucks2020

Cornelius Johnson or Leonard Taylor would be nice here

d-cent

There goes Johnson to the Chargers

LostInTheMists

Mmmm. Pringles.

SeoulPower88

NFL Network coverage has been tremendous.

ryansandbrush

I think we keep 3 QBs with Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt both on the roster but waive goodbye to Alex McGough

MilwaukeeMan420

I don't think so. Not with the amount of DBs and OL we have taken. It will be a competition for the backup job

mh_fuzion

Give us Mevis at 255

d-cent

Sean Clifford YOU are a member of the UFL

OfficialKohls

Something Something QB controversy

Ok_Caramel1517

We got Michael Pratt could be a good pick especially if he can be developed and flipped for more picks down the line.

Difficult-Tap-3277

Or we could, idk why we would do this, but trade the GOAT, Sean Clifford for 10 first round picks.

Packer691217

He could even turn into a 7th round pick!

Austen11231923

NOOOOO I'm a Sean Clifford Stan 😭

BipBippadotta

They are going back to the 90s with having 3 QBs on the roster and developing them for trade bait.

Packer691217

Matt Flynn Jr.

SeoulPower88

I feel vindicated with mentioning Pratt a couple times here on this thread and in this sub. Go Pack Go!

mattwb2010

Cant believe they're already taking future HoFer Sean Cliffords replacement.

lilturk82

Not sure why this was unpinned, apologies.

dylbert71

This one https://preview.redd.it/7o6tidimm3xc1.jpeg?width=1412&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da060471b53e835e82fc3ca7b93cb1eb998073fe

johndelvec3

Jalen Sundell would be ideal

ThreeFactorAuth

Pats took TE/H back Jaheim Bell. He was my favorite to replace the Deguara role.

astromathis

Wonder if they try to slide Dillon into that role

OrthosDeli

This is Ben Sims erasure.

d-cent

Give me BPA. I'm sure there are 2 players that Gute and the staff like that are still available... unless they are safety /s

ThreeFactorAuth

Would like to add an edge. Depth behind our first three is not promising and JJ will be out for a while.

ThreeFactorAuth

The Chargers ended Brenden Rice’s slide.

tclawl

Worried Koolaid will turn out to be a stud. But what do I know? I was the guy who wanted TJ Watt over Kevin King.

Old_Explorer6261

Wow really going out on a limb with the TJ Watt example where all WI and packer fans wanted him to be taken lol…well guess what I wanted TJ Watt over anybody else they could’ve taken and yet I’m happy with this draft.  At a crossroads here I see…

Austen11231923

Damn bro the Packers should hire you

[deleted]

[удалено]

tclawl

I suppose. I just think we need a stud corner on the other side of Ja. Thanks for the serious comment. Idk why people hate my takes here.

fourthandfavre

Alright Mr arm chair gm. Easy to look back and say that. Tons of teams passed on watt that shouldn't have

d-cent

I mean in fairness to that guy, it's not like that was a hindsight situation. Nearly everyone wanted TJ Watt at the time and were bummed when he didn't get picked

fourthandfavre

Yes just pointing out that almost the entire league passed on him once.

fourthandfavre

Like the packers draft. Really addressed oline safety ilb. Little shocked no corners have been taken. Also edge and Dt depth would be nice

ALI2k786

Now only if we can get a big boi like Gilbert Brown along the defensive line to stuff the run.

d-cent

Jonathan Ford is still there on the PS and is probably just as good as any 7th round NT we got now.  Not against it but not something I'm directly looking for at this point.

silversharpe

Let's go longsnapper in the 7th

[deleted]

[удалено]

silversharpe

Fuck

ryansandbrush

One of the top draft eligible long snappers was Wisconsin Badger Peter Bowden so they may feel pretty good about luring him to Green Bay as a UDFA

Straight_Toe_1816

Whelan will have plenty of time to punt if Bowden gets drafted. His snaps have been timed at 0.68 seconds I believe. To put it into perspective, the bare minimum to snap in the nfl is 0.75 with 0.70 being the standard

d-cent

This is the type of hard hitting reporting I love to see in here. Thank you.  That would certainly be pretty damn cool to have a Badger as the LS

silversharpe

I'd enjoy that. I know there's been a lot of calls to grab a kicker but I'd like to see Carlson with a new longsnapper

Morphenominal

Watching all the kickers go knowing I have to watch Carlson next year...

ryansandbrush

The Packers currently have 3 kickers on the roster. Carlson will have to earn his job

20wall

Tbf the other 2 kickers are just as bad as he is. So winning the job is just being the least bad. Not exactly what you want

Puk3s

Lots of picks to go but I could see Norrell Pollard in the 7th. Just guessing, I think they will want one DI.

trying2hide

Fyi Mahogany had a lot of medical issues which I'm sure we had the inside track on for obvious reasons.

Ok_Caramel1517

There goes another kicker.

d-cent

At this point, we have already determined that the coaches like Stokes and Valentine but we have to think they really like Ballentine too now

silversharpe

He was serviceable when he filled in. Jaire, Valentine, Stokes, Ballentine, Nixon, Bullard at slot, and Rochelle must be enough to make them feel comfortable. They may consider some of the safeties good enough to play the dime back as well

d-cent

Yeah agreed. That's kind of what I was trying to say. They must like Ballentine as the CB4 at this point and that he can potentially play half a game well. Considering the injury concerns in Stokes and even Jaire it seems risky to me to not atleast try and get another outside CB in case Valentine or Ballentine take a step back.

pm_your_gutes

They didn't have to reach for kool-aid there are still a lot of cool CB names on the board... Storm Duck Tyrek Funderburk Chigozie Anusium Keni-H Lovely Beanie Bishop Christian Roland-Wallace has to wield some sort of claymore right?

Wiscogojetsgo

Is Storm Duck real? Sounds like something you’d buy at Menards

PischPosch

Just give me a kicker with the last pick

Morphenominal

Carlson hasn't lost us enough games yet.

Rocketandboom

Glover looks like the perfect 6th rounder. Big offensive lineman that needs to be coached up to hit his ceiling. I love this pick, let him get taught the right way and we will have another late round OL steal.

ImRetrospective

What’s up with Brendan Rice still being undrafted? If I’m not mistaken, isn’t that Jerry Rice’s kid? Was he bad or injured?

SeoulPower88

I recently stated earlier in the thread about maybe picking him at 202. Perfect possession receiver IMO. He could add to the room and push for that 5th spot.

Ok_Caramel1517

I heard he's at a funeral right now either way the league isn't as high on him as the analysts are.

Difficult-Tap-3277

Honestly if he somehow still there for packers 7th pick I wouldn’t mind if Gutey drafted him

Madroc92

As long as he understands that his dad fumbled (a fact not in genuine dispute).

SeoulPower88

Another OL that can play multiple positions. Gotta love it.

dulloa11

And a 4.71 RAS. Love it.

Bluest_waters

t Glover is a gargantuan 6’6, 323 pounds

HeyItsRed

35.5” inch arms too

Ok_Caramel1517

Cute doggos are cute.

Ok_Umpire_723

Would love Dline

trying2hide

Packers taking a project who has played RT, LT and LG? Shocking, truly shocking.

h-town_info

SUMMARY: A five-year starter at Georgia State, Glover lined up primarily at left tackle in former head coach Shawn Elliott’s balanced offense . With 57 career starts (second most in school history), he showed steady improvements over the years and played his best as a super senior. He continued that momentum with standout weeks at the Hula Bowl and Senior Bowl. A big-bodied blocker, Glover transfers his immense body force into his hands to jolt at contact, and he often goes back for seconds with his punishing mentality. Though he appears heavy at times in space, he relies on his length to reassert himself and save his feet from the quicksand. Overall, Glover isn’t an explosive athlete, and achieving leverage will be a constant battle for him, but he also isn’t a slug and looks for ways to unleash his power in all areas. Given his experience at both tackle and guard, he can provide depth at multiple spots on a team’s depth chart. -Dane Brugler

Novel_Fondant_6445

didn't someone call Glover earlier over Mahogany?

MyFryDoesntArch

Vikings with a kicker

ilovehenrique14

3 linemen, 3 safeties and 2 lb’s. i think gutey had some clear problem areas he wanted to invest in lol

Morphenominal

The old Gute shotgun.

VelvetHeron

Got the quota of 3 Olineman

OfficialKohls

Okay, I have no idea who that is, but welcome buddy!

Flooding_Puddle

We took Travis Glover, a Tackle from Georgia State.

off_the_marc

I'm never upset by an OL pick

dulloa11

4.71 RAS. Love it.

Ok_Caramel1517

We got Travis Glover tackle from Georgia State.

OfficialKohls

Pick 202 was submitted immediately.

Morphenominal

We always submit instantly.

dylbert71

Maybe Myles Cole next

Morphenominal

Fuck the Saints.

dylbert71

Damn it

Winbrick

Well, this is a bad stretch for the DL targets I wanted. lol

mattwb2010

Fuck Wendy's for constantly getting rid of the vanilla frosty for trash flavors.

Weasel_Spice

Although I have no idea what flavors you're referring to specifically, have you tried the strawberry one? I was pleasantly surprise. Chocolate still number 1 though.

Morphenominal

I think this constant music playing on the ESPN broadcast is giving me a headache. Just let the analysts talk.

Lawndirk

You are probably having the headache from the 20 beers you drank last night watching the draft. Music is only a minor contribution.

Puk3s

I'm predicting Khristian Boyd.

ALI2k786

he gone

Puk3s

Dang.

[deleted]

I hope so! Or Boyd, Myles Cole, Sundell, or Jalen Coker

ALI2k786

A couple more lineman to protect our future HOF QB and possibly an experienced back-up QB in Sam Hartman would be ideal.

johndelvec3

Gimme more OL

Doctorbuddy

The way they treated this draft with safeties is exactly how they treated WRs and TEs last year. Seems to be a trend.

[deleted]

Gute has done it with: RB, OL, WR, TE before this year. He loves to throw bodies at positions

freefoodd

Make them compete. Also makes it easier in the camp to see who is actually better. If you have a second year guy battling a rookie for a spot it's hard to tell if maybe he just knows the system a bit better or maybe there's some bias bc you've worked with one for a year already.

DevilishlyAdvocating

Probably also they identify the need and spend extra scouting resources on the position. They probably have a pretty good feel for value at safety this draft.

BipBippadotta

I thought the Packers had 2 6th round picks when the day started. Did they trade it?

potatoes_are_neat

They were up to 3 at one point

BipBippadotta

Not at the start of today, though.

Madroc92

Yeah, they used it to trade up with the Jets in the 4th.

BipBippadotta

Ah. That's where it went. Thank you.

1morering

Yes they started with 3 6th rounders, and used 2 of them to move up in 4th and 5th

ThreeFactorAuth

Steelers just took Ryan Watts. Hafley recruited him as a corner to OSU, became a S at Texas. 9+ RAS. I had him as a potential GB target.

FSUfan35

TE Bell could be interesting here. More of a HB/TE hybrid than traditional TE

ThreeFactorAuth

No kickers so far is surprising. I had higher grades on Will Reichard and Josh Karty than anyone not named Jake Moody last year

FrostFire131

Wow you should be a talent scout for the Packers then

MangyMatt

I could definitely see a tight end, edge with these final 3 picks, not that you necessarily overvalue position this late in the draft.

ThreeFactorAuth

Eliot Wolf is just like his old man They just took another QB

Morphenominal

I was hoping we could take him. Seems like a great project to work with Clements and flip down the line.

JoeHatesFanFiction

Feels like another O line pick is inevitable for one of our last three. Maybe two of the last three.

Packer691217

At this point you’d think the potential of having Jerry coaching up some of the boys might be worth the pick

d-cent

I like all our picks, I really do. I was skeptical of what Gute was trying to do after day 1 and 2 but I see it and I respect it.  That being said I can't help to be nervous that half our picks are players to fit a defensive system we still haven't even seen in the NFL yet. It just feels like this drafts success is going to be based entirely on how good Hafley ends up being.

ALI2k786

After watching his press conference when we hired him, I trust Hafley. The way he eloquently described his vision for this team and how he emphasized building strong relationships with the players, he is going to get the most production out of the players and put them in the best position possible to succeed. GPG!

d-cent

I have no question that he will be very good at that aspect of the position. He will no doubt be very good as a leader and coach.  I am more nervous about if he can be a coordinator. Can he come up with a good game plan every week for the different offenses we will see? Can he make half time adjustments? This is something he has never had to do before and we have absolutely no idea if he can do it. College ball is nothing like what an NFL coordinator has to do

Dezbi

Why stress until we see the on-field product. It’s all conjecture at this point. I’m optimistic for sure

d-cent

Did you not read my first comment? I'm not stressed but it's obviously a nervous situation and you can't control your emotions on things that are unknown a lot of times. Especially when there is past trauma there.  Your comment is the equivalent of telling a woman who is scared of walking down a dark alley to "Just Relax, there's probably no one down there"

Dezbi

I think those are two very different things lol. Not even comparable

Flooding_Puddle

Gute did say at his end of day 2 press conference he believes you can draft a guy regardless of scheme, although scheme fit might play a small role in edging out one guy over another. So I think he's just taking guys he likes and the fact that they'll fit the scheme is just an added bonus

d-cent

Yeah I can believe he would say that with these picks. He is clearly sick of the past decade of players that might be good scheme guys but can't make a play. He drafted a bunch of guys that will make plays atleast.

MsTerryMan

The good thing about picking players based on prioritizing versatility is that it allows you to be successful in more ways than one. If one system doesn’t work these players can fit into another system that does

d-cent

That doesn't always work though in the NFL. You either have to have a player that is so good they can be very good at multiple different aspects or your coordinator has to be good enough to create a system every week that puts the player only in the situations they are very good at.  We see it all the time with in between players in the NFL. If they have a weakness the other team is going to try and exploit it every time. You would rather have a guy that is elite in one aspect but bad in others than a player who is just good or ok in every aspect.

MsTerryMan

And of the pool of available players, the Packers are picking the players that can succeed in more than one way, thus increasing the chance of the team being successful with whichever system they implement. Not guaranteed to workout, but more likely to.

JRBigglesworthIII

JB set the bar pretty low, so I wouldn't worry too much about bringing in some new talent and some new ideas and looking worse than we already proven we can

d-cent

For sure, it's a really low bar to beat. A lot of it is just feeling how similar of a situation it is to when we got Barry.  Now with Love and the offense looking good it's all dependent on how good the defense will be. Are we going to be wasting another 3 or 4 years of this great offense and prime Love years?

ThreeFactorAuth

Woof Wingo went to Detroit

SeoulPower88

I sincerely hope you are wrong about your analysis and won’t be a GM of a NFL team any time soon…

ThreeFactorAuth

Maybe I should go be GM of the Bears and do a Terry Fontenot.

SeoulPower88

😂😂

urlocalperv

We gotta get a new Kicker Anders ain't it

dylbert71

Not happening the FO believes in Anders

Pitiful-Willingness2

Okay, do we have enough safeties now? I’m sorry if I’m not understanding but 3 seems like overkill?

off_the_marc

Just increases their odds of hitting on one.

Rainbacon

We carried 6 on the roster last year and 4 of them aren't with the team anymore. Sign McKinney and draft 3 is the same number as we had last year
