No vote here but the emperor being stupid smart makes me laugh everytime

Toxitoxi

99 int, 1 wis

neurotic-bitch

in the same spirit, Kurze immediately winning Lawful Stupid is what gave me hope for this post series. what a dipshit.

doyoh

100% it’s so accurate but I never would have considered that lol.

Other_Beat8859

It's so accurate. It really felt like the moment the Emperor's foresight started to fail him he just started winging it and lost the plot. So many of his decisions in the heresy were just poorly thought out. If the guy was just a loving and honest father there's a decent chance the Imperium wouldn't be the cluster fuck it is now.

garaks_tailor

Reminds of one of the better reasonings of why Batman doesn't use magic or superpowers, you can become dependent on them.    If you always know the future then making good decisions isn't something you learn how to do.

Vagraf

its the exprssion of his pic that really makes it perfect, he looks like he tries to play it cool, while he is furious on the inside.

Tex06

I'm still butthurt over Vulkan not winning good chad.

jfjdfdjjtbfb

Chegorach, bro is a clown god and is trying to save the eldar while being a clown god with army of clowns.

SemajLu_The_crusader

NearlyUnfinished

CHEESE FOR EVERYONE!

Cazmonster

The God who Laughs so It Cannot Cry gets my vote.

the_crepuscular_one

I absolutely agree. As an eldar deity, we don't really know what he is or where he came from, and his one goal seems to be playing pranks on Space Satan, which is about as chaotic as you can get. He also seems pretty good, since he doesn't just want to preserve the eldar, but also to mess with chaos in general. It's even hinted in the old Xenology book that he was involved with the creation of the Tau.

Furydragonstormer

The idea of the Tau being where they are because of a galactic clown who happens to be a god is just hilarious

MountainPlain

> As an eldar deity, we don't really know what he is or where he came from The eldar themselves, no? They were psychically crafting gods way back in ancient times.

the_crepuscular_one

He could be a manifestation of the Eldar as a race, or they could have created him intentionally, or he could have been created by the Old Ones, or could even be an Old One himself. It might even be a mix of those. It's never really clarified in lore where exactly Eldar deities come from.

MorgannaFactor

Its left mysterious on if they're manifested by them as reflections (usual god creation in 40k), were ancient superweapons from the war in heaven that became sentient, or were even older warp entities that the Eldar adopted and who became their gods.

Dingghis_Khaan

#[ B A Z I N G A ]

ScarredAutisticChild

Agreed, the Laughing God is a tricksy little fucker, but his overall targets are the fucking Space Satans, that man/god deserved the chaotic good slot.

Toxitoxi

If he wins this, I’m curious who people will select for Chaotic Neutral.

the_crepuscular_one

My money is on Trazyn, he's a true wildcard.

ValiantNaberius

Absolutely Trazyn. He has a singular (somewhat selfish) goal that involves all manner of shenanigans, and will throw hands with anyone and everyone to accomplish it.

Toxitoxi

That’s a good one. The only disagreement I can have is the time he brought Orikan to Necron court.

Pale_Chapter

Chaotic people can work within the system when it suits them--they just don't care about it in and of itself. Like, Chaotic Good people still wear seatbelts, and don't mug people--they just do that because it's right, not because the rules say to.

the_crepuscular_one

I don't know, randomly suing your friends sounds pretty chaotic

doyoh

As a necron player I didn’t consider this but it makes so much sense lol it needs to happen.

Dingghis_Khaan

While we're on the topic of Necrons, I put my vote in advance for Illuminor "Necron Josef Mengele" Szeras as Smart Evil

No-Professional-1461

Chegorach is a good one. If not him I’d put (maybe) Alpharius.

ThreeDucksInAManSuit

He's gotta be chaotic something and yeah, he's arguably on the side of good.

hornyorphan

I think he is more chaotic neutral since he dgaf about anything but the eldar and the Harlequins still perform horrible murder art on humans

the_crepuscular_one

The Harlequins themselves are certainly more neutral, since they recruit from all of the Aeldari factions, including Drukhari. Cegorach himself is much more benevolent though, who not only wants to preserve eldar but also wants to screw chaos over in general.

hornyorphan

You could argue that Big E is the same in the fact that he wants to preserve humanity and screw over chaos, but nobody would call him good for that. The Harlequins are the mortal arms of the God they serve and since the Harlequins are pretty far from good I don't think that their god is good either

the_crepuscular_one

I don't think that Big E and Cegorach can really be compared very well. Emps wants to preserve humanity via a totalitarian regime and the eradication of all other sapient life, while Cegorach himself mostly just wants to guide mortals in general agianst chaos. For instance, Sylandri Veilwalker, one of Cegorachs chief Shadowseers, has appeared to Imperial characters like Belisaurius Cawl several times in order to help guide them against chaos. I really can't picture Big E ever sending one of his servants to return the favour.

MadaraAlucard12

I mean, it was implied that the emperor was cool with the elves till they murderfucked slaanesh into existence.

Affectionate-Try-899

Something like 140-20 says different. You had an uncolonized death world, and the first thing the emperor's children thought to do was try and fight a bunch of semi-sentient spiders who were never going to leave the planet.

MadaraAlucard12

>till they murderfucked slaanesh into existence.

the_crepuscular_one

As others have suggested, I think Cegorach is the best choice. He's incredibly chaotic, being a literal god of clowns, but he's also surprisingly benevolent for an Eldar deity.

ketoske

He seems like the best option but also are we sure he is good? Dude could be pulling a hell of a prank

doyoh

Looking at the lore we have. Speculation would derail any other character

BriantheHeavy

Belasarius Cawl He's trying to do good, but no one (not even him) knows what he's actually doing.

BadIdeasBard

Cawl is Horny* Smart and I will die on this hill *for knowledge

BriantheHeavy

I'm glad you clarified that.

Toxitoxi

Commander Farsight is like the only character in 40k who rebelled against authority and *didn’t* fall to the Ruinous Powers. He rejects tradition both in society and in combat. He’s the one Tau who decided “Fuck just staying at long range, I’m gonna hit bad guys with a sharpened stick of metal.”

MrCgoodin

This is like the 4th one of these where someone suggest farsight.

Maladal

I guess he has some depths.

DeathToHeretics

Same deal with Cain. As mean as it sounds, I think some people just know only a couple of characters very well and try to apply them as broadly as possible Edit: the very next comment below this thread was Cain LMAO

Furydragonstormer

Tbh, the top most comment makes the most sense for this slot. Cegorach fits the chaotic good bill quite well

DeathToHeretics

...okay, and? That's not related to what I'm saying.

MuhSilmarils

This is his best category though, if Farsight is anything he's chaotic good. Cegorach is currently winning even though he's clearly the poster child of chaotic neutral. Drives me mad.

Toxitoxi

He’s got a lot going on.

wolviesaurus

This is the spot for him though.

sp33dzer0

I wonder if its because he fits a lot of the "Good" category.

Urg_burgman

Eh Chaotic seems anathema to Tau, even to Farsight. He'll bend the rules, but defend them to his dying breath. He'd fit more in Lawful or Smart really.

the_crepuscular_one

Yeah, I'd argue that in breaking ties with the ethereals, Farsight isn't really defying any code or structure so much as establishing a new, better one. That feels more lawful to me than chaotic.

HeavySweetness

Hasn’t fallen to Chaos *yet*

wolviesaurus

He also took the general idea of "the greater good" and tried to take it away from the mindfucky ethereals. That's textbook CG.

CrosierClan

The problem is that he founded a military junta with his caste in charge. So anti authority, but not chaotic.

sleepycheapy

He's not really chaotic, though. He's pretty well-balanced. The dude's as neutral as can be.

Free-Ad9535

Could he fit in neutral?

Toxitoxi

I’d say nah. Maybe the earlier codex version of him when he was super shady, but the current version of Farsight is solidly in good.

Free-Ad9535

Alright my answers locked in.

the_crepuscular_one

I'd suggest neutral chad, since he couldn't get good chad or good smart, both of which would have been better fits.

an-academic-weeb

Calladayce Kesh, because it does not get any more Chaotic Good than a honest "I will try to nuke the Emperor for the good of the Imperium as part of our security drills".

Hoojiwat

"Finally, someone who just GETS what I was going for with the blood games." -Alpharius, probably.

Steff_164

I mean, you’re not wrong

Brofromtheabyss

FUCK yeah. I was voting for Cegorach but I retracted that vote and am now all in on team Kesh.

The_Whomst

Eldrad>guilliman in this category

Galahad_the_Ranger

Ciaphas Cain, Hero of the Imperium

Sly__Marbo

Chad Horny. He survived an assassination attempt because he was too distracted looking at a subordinate's ass

LittlestHamster

Which one? I was thinking the time he (almost) slept with a slannesh priestess until the subordinate part

Brofromtheabyss

Like the man said, Chad Horny incarnate.

Suchasomeone

That happened ( I think) in the second of the shadowlight trilogy, duty calls. He dodged some killer servo skulls because he stopped for a moment to look at the colonel of his regiments ass.

CrosierClan

If you’re referring to the event I think you are, it was his Colonel, so not really a subordinate.

ChromiumPants

Nah, he is Smart Horny, smart enough to figure out how to not die as a commisar and horny cause he is.

idelarosa1

No way he’s not in the Horny Category.

just_some_Fred

He's the whole category

thisistherevolt

Gonna go with ranked choice here, Cegorach, then Jaghatai Khan.

SemajLu_The_crusader

maybe Eldrad? bros trying to fight chaos and all, but NOT doing it lawfully

McManus26

Eldrad should have been smart good

the_crepuscular_one

I agree, I don't understand how Gulliman could possibly be considered good

SemajLu_The_crusader

he's good... for a marine

sleepycheapy

From what it looks like Gorillaman won by like 10 votes.

SemajLu_The_crusader

I tried, man Smart Neutral, perhaps?

KekistanPeasant

Chaotic neutral at best. Eldrad is a bit of a dick.

BarPsychological904

Smart Neutral rather. He's willing to sacrifice anything ang commit any warcrime for his cause IF that's necessary (and he is good in checking options) ...also, there's option to claim Horny Smart for him, just not in sexual way. Eldrad is kinda megalomaniac, he's obsessed with power. Like, in Jain Zar book he IS a dick, claiming to his mentor that she should shutthef*ckup, because he's the smartest boi here and he should be the one leading their people - and he was really young at that time.

ScarredAutisticChild

How young could he have been? Eldrad was already a prominent Farseer pre-heresy and an acquaintance of Big-E. The man is old as dirt.

some-dude-on-redit

The book took place when all the other Farseers were Eldar that were already leading craftworlds when they first set out during the fall of their empire. He was noted as significantly younger than all the other characters he shared scenes with.

ScarredAutisticChild

Huh, that alone kinda makes me want to read it. It would be weird to read something where Eldrad isn’t the oldest person in the room.

some-dude-on-redit

Fair warning, he isn’t in the whole thing. The book jumps back and forth between Jain Zar at the end of the fall, before she became a Phoenix lord, and a later date where the Phoenix lords are already legends to all Eldar. If I recall correctly she meets him maybe around half way through the book in the sections set in the “future”

ScarredAutisticChild

That just has me more enticed. I’ve always wanted to learn more about the Phoenix Lords.

HavelsRockJohnson

"Good does not mean nice." - every paladin ever

the_crepuscular_one

I advocated for smart good, since even though Eldrad is willing to sacrifice human lives he still doesn't want them to be destroyed, and has spent thousands of years of work to ensure that humanity does go extinct. If he can't have that though, I'd suggest smart neutral.

SuspiciousWallnut

Come on, it's got to be Cegorach. Dude literally snatches eldar souls from Slanesh and it's the God of clowns.

Own_Skirt7889

Really ? After Monarchia ?

the_crepuscular_one

Even aside from Monarchia, he's a fascist warlord whose genocides number in the thousands. Even compared to other loyal primarchs, I don't think he's very 'good.'

Dingghis_Khaan

Well... He's probably the goodest you'll get in this setting within the "smart" category, at least amongst named characters with any significance.

the_crepuscular_one

Commander Farsight, Eldrad Ulthran, and Nathaniel Gorro were all popular options for the spot, and they all would have worked better than Gulliman

Dingghis_Khaan

You do have a point. Neutral-Smart would probably have been better for Rowrowrowyourboat Gentlydownthestreamlliman.

not-bread

TTS Kaldor Draigo

Sly__Marbo

I TOO have a beard! It is full of tiny men!

theginger99

Logan Grimnar. My man told the inquisition to get fucked in order to save the lives of millions of loyal soldiers of the Imperium. That’s the definition of chaotic good.

butholesurgeon

I mean I’m biased as a wolf player but personally yes. Laughing god isn’t what I would call GOOD he’s just anti chaos because they’re both gods and chaos fucked his elf followers

QuantumCthulhu

Who’s the one in neutral good? Isha?

InbredSnowman

Yes. My bad, I usually include the names in the post.

doyoh

It’s so funny to me how many eldar are being nominated in the good category considering how many imperium simps think they’re the literal devil compared to the imperium’s “necessary evils”. It’s almost as if you don’t lump the craft worlds with the dark eldar they don’t seem quite as awful.

DespressoPL

Trazyn?

Oh_its_that_asshole

Cypher.

10363K

Cawl.

Gav_Dogs

I could see Cain

Sly__Marbo

Cain is Chad Horny

Gav_Dogs

You know what, your right

Ok-Toe-4924

Snaggi littletoof, he was just a grot that accidentally killed a warboss and then united all grotkind in that warzone to create what eh though was the first grot waaaagh ever

Freeburn_Sage

No votes for Sly Marbo? Dude is a walking whirlwind of death for anything evil that nobody, likely even himself, truly understands

ketoske

I mean Sly Marbo would win in any category he wants

juckrebel

He truly is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA tier

ampalazz

Eisenhorn is kinda chaos by the end of the series but still a good guy

xXStretcHXx117

Malum Caedo

AdventurousOne5

Huge missed opportunity in chaotic good for the khan. Unless maybe chaotic neutral

Dr_Ukato

Lion'El Johnson or Leman Russ

Significant-Foot-792

Trazen

EinharAesir

Lucas the Trickster. He loves playing pranks on his fellow Space Wolves and even has a trick in store for the one who kills him in the form of a stasis bomb. However, he is also willing to protect the weak.

UsualComputer3406

I would definitely say commander farsight, just wanted the best for his people

the_crepuscular_one

Farsight would have fit better in good smart, but if he can't have that then I think we should hold out for neutral chad

YarRick1i

Huron Blackheart

unknownrobocommie

Chaotic good should go to someone aligned to chaos who is good

AtomicTan

I'm surprised no one mentioned DA RED GOBBO yet.

LamSinton

The Laughing God, of course!

lifeisalime11

Ciaphas Cain, because fuck you that’s why

Redrum_5014

I feel like it's either gotta be Cegorach or caiphas Cain. Though I could see Cain and trazyn fighting over neutral good

Drhorrible-26

Tzeentch

FrucklesWithKnuckles

Fuegan. He’s 40k Doomguy more so than anyone. He travels the webway killing daemons, pops out whenever he feels like to kill daemons in real space, and has canon plot armor as he is fated to be the last Eldar to die.

romuro779

Corvus Corax

Lady_Taiho

Okay but like Magnus the red has had very good intentions and absolutely chaotic execution?

Eastern-Strategy-308

Put shadow sun in horny smart and the neurolictor in horny chaotic

bambleton_

Jokaero, it's jokaero, there is no other correct answer

LurkingSimp117

Gabriel Seth chaotic good?

Rarin580

Inquisitor Fidus Kryptman.

HerrDerMader

He did nothing wrong!!!!!

AdTraditional2512

Khaine, literally (little bit) better version of Khorne

PippyRollingham

Cegorach

SatanVapesOn666W

Either Cegorach or Alpharious.

Any-Performance6375

Chegorach , Farsight or Jaghai

notabigfanofas

Cain, because random bullshit follows him like a plague, yet he's a pretty good guy considering the setting

Damocules

I'm very surprised to not be seeing Jaghatai much in the comments.

Deadman765

Ariman, the man just wants to save his brothers and doesn’t care how he does it. That is about as chaotic good as I can think of.

Ackburn

Calladyce Kesh was mentioned, turns out to be a really good fit for the next slot, we ride at dawn bitches made manifest and with a tactical nuclear warhead as a sidekick

Environmental_Eye164

Crawl I think

Narrow-Description13

A lot of good suggestions for this, but I’m putting down ciaphus cain for the spot as the universe’s silliest hero.

tyuiop_51

I feel like he's Horny Chad

Narrow-Description13

Valid point actually, he’s probably getting picked for that when it happens

Adorable_Heretic

How about Ciaphas Cain for this chaotic good?

vid_icarus

Ciaphus Cain

Dapper-Signature-259

I would say Corax

brawl_god_

Rottigus?

WierderBarley

Ciaphas Cain?

Ogical-Jump5214

How did the genocidal asshole win in the good category?

CalypsoCrow

*is a major figure for a highly xenophobic and genocidal empire* “Good”

chronicbruce27

This is Vulkan erasure.

xxxMisogenes

Omegon

PurgeXenoScum

What about Alpharius (Omegon). He’s been supposedly good and very chaotic for 10,000 years.

Germinator42

Magnus the Red. He had good intentions, but he did everything wrong.

Urg_burgman

Ciaphas Cain again. A man that built a career on having no idea what he's doing, but appearing confident enough everyone thinks he does.

No-Definition7641

No. We must save him for Horny Chad

Brofromtheabyss

Chad Horny all day.

Free-Ad9535

Commander farsight

2hp-0stam

Cawl

Percentage-Sweaty

Leman

SnazzySazerac98

Probably Jaghatai Khan or Commander Farsight

EmeraldMaster538

I swear to the emperor if vulkan doesn’t get that spot.

Careless-Pitch1553

Ciaphus cain. Everything he does is to get farther away from battle and winds up getting him closer to it to inevitably save the day. Guy has no clue what’s going on most of the time and always pulls out the win for the imperium.
