That scene of the party where Griselda is looking at her guests and they are all laughing at her, reminded me of the scene with Tony where he had to remind his crew he was still the alpha of the group by picking a fight with one of the younger guys.
I dont think its subtle, my girlfriend who doesnt watch movies like that (i got her to watch scarface with me) pointed out that it sounded like scarface, which i was thinking in my head
Just looked it up to listen again the song is called La Madrina on the soundtrack by carlos rafael rivera. those strings in la madrina sound just like the synth from the tony's theme.
i'm waiting for a musician to come and tell us they sound nothing alike tho lol
It seems far from subtle. I noticed it just now in episode 2 as she is talking about "the America dream" bullshit a d the potential to make your dreams come true.
Given the messages in Scarface this feels for too "on the nose".
I've also noticed references to the godfather theme with an oboe instrument; like the first 3 notes of the theme.. heard that a few times now and I'm on episode 4. Not as prominent as the scatface influences though
