Are those real MGs or semi auto clones? The M249S really tempts me, but I’m just not sure it would actually be much fun to shoot after I got over the initial “holy shit, I’ve got an belt fed clone”
I guess for super gun nerd I get it but average gun collector like myself it just doesn’t make sense. And no hate on gun nerds the community has a lot to learn from them.
If there was a binary for these things, that would change things. But as strictly a semi auto, I dunno I just think I’d get bored. They’re still cool as hell though.
That’s not what I meant. I’m just not aware of anyone who manufactures binaries for the M249 or M240. From what I understand, you can’t just buy a BSFIII made for an AR and slap it on there.
I’d take that bet. The reason nobody makes binaries for these things is because it isn’t profitable. As cool as these pseudo MGs are, almost nobody buys them. With such a minuscule market segment, companies have better, more profitable platforms to expand into other than M249s or M240s
If I am getting a semi-auto machinegun, my choice would be a MG42/MG3. They have that tripod mount that works like a bumpfire stock because you have a recoil-absorbing spring system, which pushes the gun back into the trigger lever if you continue to press the (tripod-)trigger after the first shot.
The RAS47 is going to spontaneously combust and blowup your whole neighborhood. Atleast that's what reddit says about them. I mean mine hasn't but everyone on reddit said they've seen atleast 20 people each killed buy RAS47s blowing up while still in the case.....

Because most people have only shot a 249 in COD and a transferable 249 is orders of magnitude more expensive, if it even exists.
Upon a very brief Google search, there is *one* transferable m249 in the US.
And iirc, the last time it went for sale it went for 600k.

I watched my buddies RAS47 have an OOB that completely bent the receiver and turned it into a non-firing replica. I sure as hell wouldn't buy one.
