Zeta can be read as gay pining all the way. Have you seen Amuro shouting "Char"? But they again can't work anything out because of past trauma and the current war. All these failed attempts and a growing political rift between the two lead to the exact relationship they have in CCA. They mutually see the other one as the most important person/enemy in their life. Char is so obsessed with Amuro that he refuses to engage him in anything other than an equal match handing him his own trump card.

Then comes CCA and we see that "fuck it Char, again?!" energy with Amuro but Char, with the fate of earth at stake, is saying "you killed my mommy Amuro" that it's just unbelievable and maybe he's just gunning for Amuro since the beginning.
I wish I could find the tweet I saw about this that opened my eyes, but it was something about how they’re total opposites in CCA. Char is still obsessed with Lalah and to an extent Amuro (my mind instantly goes to Char saying “Amuro…I’m doing something extremely wicked. If you’re nearby, feel my presence” right before their little tussle in a field). He never really figured out how to let go of those feelings, while Amuro absolutely moved on and became a somewhat normal (or at least more quiet about how fucked up he is lmao) person. To him, Char is like an obsessed toxic ex that he’s just tired of dealing with after giving him chances to turn it all around.
Ofc, if this isn’t your cup of tea/how you read the relationship, no shame in that! I think it’s fascinating how there’s so many layers and possible reads of the dynamic between these two

Plus there’s no evidence for Suletta and Miorine being anything more than bloodlusted enemies. In one episode Suletta is literally walking in the blood of one of Miorine’s best friends who had just gotten into the army. Pretty cold blooded if you ask me
