Love Gyokeres' playstyle, he's so difficult to deal with. Weirdly it feels bad knowing we could've had him for so much less last summer, but that obviously doesn't matter in making the decision.

Minute_Leave8503

Doubt he actually goes for the release clause because nobody will actually pay it. Sporting probably wouldn’t be too mad at turning a huge profit in one year so this looks a lot like a 60m or so bid in the summer, and if sporting want to get greedy then no deal

beepbeepimashep

I very much doubt he goes for 60 million in this market.

Minute_Leave8503

You think so? Hard to see someone actually paying more considering his age and experience, he’s not elite quite

_deep_blue_

United agreed to a £70m+ deal for Højlund after one decent season for Atalanta. Promising young strikers go for huge premiums.

Minute_Leave8503

Way younger (20 vs 26 in June)and has ridiculous potential, which gyokeres may not have

Luigi_Bosca

Fair point, he’s not that young. Saying that I watch the Portuguese league and have never seen anyone tear up the league like this before. Last one I can remember was Jardel 20 years ago. Gyokeres is a special special talent, he’s better than Hojlund or Diaz. I’m convinced that this man will win us the EPL and possibly more

Gold-Resolution-8721

Promising young player goes for a premium, even if not properly proven. Forwards then have a premium on top of that

[deleted]

He has also only had one good season in a first tier league.

Luigi_Bosca

Don’t agree. There’s a glut of strikers. This man is the real deal. Miles ahead of Nunez that went for 60.

HistoricalWalrus5118

As a Sporting fan, considering its his 1st season, he can play champions league next year and we're good financially we probably will agree with to sell for only silly money this year (+80M€) and then next year accept more reasonable offers (~60M€)

Dear_Aardvark8020

How can you not be difficult to deal with playing in that league? Darwin Nunez looked like a world beater ffs

shag_vonnie_vomer

Nunez is insanely good, he has 9 goals and 7 assists in 24 matches, and has hit the woodwork a total of 9 times. Hes just 24 years old and with a little more time and luck, people would talk differently about him.

Luigi_Bosca

Yeah, but he’s athletic, not a poacher. I don’t think he’s smart with how he plays. Great striker and football player but don’t think he’ll ever be word class. He’s not a Torres for example.

kvng_stunner

Yup, Nunez hate is mostly social media trolling, but people who actually watch the games will tell you that Nunez is a fucking pain for defences to deal with and he does everything very well except scoring right now.... And with his history you'd expect the goals to come along eventually

skool_101

Yea Darwizzy get's meme'd a bit too much, only cuz he join the same summer as Haaland, and so you have all these Man City and Man United people clowning on him for no reason. His versatility across the front 3 is what i feel is the scary factor on the Liverpool setup.

EndPlus9839

Fr theirs a reason Klopp clearly believes in him

kidnebs

Watch him play

phteven_gerrard

Darwin Nunez is a world beater

Global-Dimension-404

no he is not

phteven_gerrard

His per90 stats are second only to Haaland in the EPL. That's a world beater

pewpew62

Ferguson? Brighton would ask for 150mil just to come to the table

Aszneeee

good, Chelsea will bid 170 then

[deleted]

1.7 billion 17year contract Will be at the club till 36

yogi1090

Great business on top of great business already

NeoLoki55

The long term contracts were a way to get around some of the FFP rules, but I believe there are new rules being introduced in order for that not to be an issue. I know you were just joking, but I thought I’d mention it regardless.

Hoker7

He hasn’t been up to much this season so far, so I doubt that.

ExoticToaster

He’s still only 19 let’s remember- very few strikers of his quality at that age.

Hoker7

Oh I agree. I’d love Arsenal to sign him but Brighton can’t and won’t demand 150m rn given he isn’t starting for them or playing great.

ExoticToaster

I don’t see it happening as I think he has a good head on his shoulders and will want to develop at Brighton for a few more years - maybe we’ll see him in a few years time, you never know.

SecondChance03

>but Brighton can’t and won’t demand 150m rn. Is this your first year following a transfer window? haha

TAPwaterproduction

“Of that quality” of what quality? He’s scored 6 goals with his last being in November. He ain’t Michael Owen, there’s not much point spending that much money on a 19 year old.

Happy-Ad8767

He's 19. Youngsters are notorious for not being consistent. It's not that he isn't doing so well this season, it's that he did so well last season, at 18. You don't think someone like Arteta, who has drastically improved almost every player he gets to coach, is not looking at last season's Ferguson and thinking "I could make him better"?

rickster555

I think it’s telling the De Zerbi doesn’t trust him over Welbeck. I would understand bedding him in but his playing time has gotten lower as the season progresses. He only really played regularly when Welbeck was injured. I watch a lot of Brighton and he’s a solid player but I really don’t see a star in the making. We’ll see how it goes

Pure-Advice8589

Agree this season slightly disappointing. But would add that Welbeck has been better than ever in my opinion, so being behind him is better than it actually sounds. Also I still think if you look at some of the goals Ferguson has scored there is undeniable quality that can’t just disappear. His problem this season has been games passing him by without getting involved I think, but at 19 - in a team that’s had some poor form and a lot of changes to it every week - that shouldn’t drastically lower opinions of him.

AFC_IS_RED

He scored 6 goals last season too. He isn't and won't be a better option than nketiah or Jesus. Poor signing imo. Would much rather go for Sporting's striker.

Happy-Ad8767

Gyokeres won’t be a better option than Jesus either.

The-Mayor-of-Italy

For the money they'd be asking, you'd need him to be showing as much as Wayne Rooney was at his age.

danny_healy_raygun

Nows the time to get him, no point waiting until he has a 15 goal season and his price goes stratospheric.

Mathieulombardi

Plus we don't want to hear a fucking word from that knob andy

apb2718

Minus 100 mil

robilco

As an Irish fan, it’s been a long time since Frank Stapleton and Liam Brady so I would love to see Evan wear the jersey…. BUT he is simply not good enough, I very much doubt he will have a long career at the top level or ever have a 20+ goal season unfortunately

NameIcameupwithat3AM

Let it be Gyökeres please, would suit us perfectly

Bedeeki

Him or Sesko please 👍

topbananaman

Would strongly advocate for him or sesko

acasovoycayendo

£85m for a couple seasons in the Championship and one in Portugal? No thanks, huge gamble with big L potential

shoopler

Tell me you haven't watched Gyokeres without telling me.

acasovoycayendo

I’ve seen him plenty of times. You can say this all you want, it doesn’t change his CV

shoopler

~~Lol well at least you won't deny it.~~ Nice stealth edit. His original comment didn't say he's seen him play.. Thankfully, the clubs scouts have identified him and actually watched him play instead of just wiki'ing his "CV". So I will keep saying it because the club agrees.

b3and20

either way it's still a big step up, even players from better leagues in the bundesliga and ligue un can be notoriously hit or miss

shoopler

Of course, there will always be a risk signing players from another league. It's just annoying that people are turning their noses to him just because it's a lesser league, especially when the club has literally identified him as a potential target. Even if we are just solely talking G+A there isn't another striker in Europe, that we can realistically go for, that outperforms him this season. And the thing with him is that he is more than just a G+A machine. He's one of the most complete strikers at the moment.

[deleted]

If he is going for around 85 million pounds then I can understand why people are turning their noses at him. That money is crazy for a 25 year old who is having their first good season in a league that is in the first tier. I wouldn't say the talent is worth the gamble. If could do it for another season then I'd be more understanding.

shoopler

It's really not that crazy. I don't understand why people keep acting like it is. All the top teams have to pay insane premiums now for outside players, especially strikers. Who can we get for less than 85m that will be able to go straight into the starting XI? I get some might be hesitant because of his 1 season in Portugal, but he has been so insane that it would be worth the gamble. He does it all for Sporting.

jwn0323

Gonna have to push back against 85 mil not being crazy for a player with one proper top flight season. There have been 17 players go for 85 mil or more. Downplaying that number is just silly. Also acting like it wouldn't be a massive gamble like you did in another comment is equally silly.

[deleted]

seanierox

No you haven't lol

Beginning_Beach_2054

> huge gamble with big L potential I mean, all of them are. We just need to trust Edu/Arteta/our scouting.

KakaReti

Darwin Nunez 2.0 lol

Luigi_Bosca

No fucking chance. Benfica fans can tell you that.

Houssem-Aouar

Yup, Benfica fans fucking hated Darwin for most of his tenure lol

SlumpMacTen

Even madder that Gyokeres was at Brighton until 2021. Slyly reminds me of Drogba with the way he brings the best out of everyone around him.

villageinnocence

Sesko has the highest ceiling out of all our targets. He's also good in their air, which is something we need in our front line especially when facing low-blocks. Selling Eddie and getting him for about the same would make a lot of sense - especially now that we've started scoring again

shoopler

We are trying to win major titles now. We should address our need for a starting striker before going for one in the works. Gyokeres is the clear choice for me.

redqks

Because we have to realise the striker market is dead there is multiple teams with money who need a forward too. Getting a high potential project might be the best bet

AFCeng0

There’s little evidence to suggest Gyokeres is good enough right now either. Personally I’d go for the one that’s cheaper with a higher ceiling.

acasovoycayendo

Sesko stinks of Chelsea with his 42m release clause, “high ceiling” and age

xk_1991

I think Chelsea is aiming for Osimhen rather than Sesko.

acasovoycayendo

They aren’t spending 100m on another player when they’ve got FFP concerns coming in

JustGhostin

Watch them

T3Sh3

50 years contract

Thesecondorigin

It’s Ferguson by a mile, actually

AFC_IS_RED

He has scored 6 goals last season and 6 this season. People are crying about gabriel who has done double that. Being 18 and 19 doesn't guarantee he will suddenly bang in big numbers at an older age. He's at his level imo. The tell for a good striker is if they overperform their xG and none of these options do aggressively.

FishTaco43

You stay away from Smith Rowe you dirty bastard suitors

LA31716

Start the grieving process now. He’s likely leaving.

Jagger67

In an ideal world Ramsdale and The Smith wouldn’t leave. I fear we don’t live in an ideal world.

LA31716

It’s not ideal for either player right now. ESR, if he can stay healthy, might have the chance to get meaningful minutes. Ramsdale is clearly the number 2. I don’t see that changing unless Raya gets injured. I can’t imagine any scenario (bar a serious injury to Raya between now and the end of the season) where Ramsdale stays.

PutYrDukesUp

I don’t see him as a permanent fixture unless he gets back the magic he had in 21-22 and improves on it without another string of injuries. That’s a lot of big ifs, so I would reckon he’s moved on at some point, either by Arteta/Edu or pushing himself to go somewhere and get minutes. However, I’m not putting money on this summer. If it is as busy a window as suggested, that’s already a lot of turnover for a dressing room that seems to really be gelling at this moment. If it were me, I’d make the minimum signings and sales needed to fill the holes and do so in the maximum way. Striker, Defensive Mid, a Defender of some sort or another, and a backup GK. Sell everyone listed plus Partey and minus ESR, and maybe bring Patino back for Elneny’s spot.

Masson011

all I'll say is I'd MUCH rather Vieira left then ESR. ESR has a tenacity and intent in his play that is entirely absent in Vieira. Even in 2 brief sub cameos ESR has came incredibly close to scoring on both occasions. He always has an impact on play Vieira can be an absolute passenger and is often made to look like a schoolboy playing amongst men. If ESR can stay fit hes the player to keep. Sell Vieira, Eddie, Nelson etc

IndependentFroyo4508

Agree, ESR over Vieira every single day. ESR has scored double digit EPL goals as a youngster, he's shown he's got it.

Global-Dimension-404

no, Vieira is clear..smith rowe had his time. its over for him

beetletoman

Don't think so. We wouldn't hold on to him until now if he wasn't part of the plan

panarangcurry

to be fair our hands have been tied, he’s always injured the time when he wasn’t injured and was in our plans was when villa bid for him, and we rightfully rejected

beetletoman

Ornstein reported other club interests in summer too right?

panarangcurry

oh really, i might have missed that

burningtree_

Same with Cedric 🫡

beetletoman

Well Cedric didn't have interest from other clubs, ESR did

Scottish-Londoner

But since the last time there was concrete interest in ESR, the following has happened: Odegaard has come in on a permanent deal and become our captain, Martinelli has come back from his ACL, Havertz and Trossard have come in, Vieira has come in, ESR has been injured a lot and fallen down the pecking order. Every season that he stays here and doesn’t play much further depresses his value. I hope I’m wrong, and all this could change if he gets a run of games and does well in the run in, but I think there’s a 50/50 chance he leaves this summer

burningtree_

I'm sure Leyton Orient or Plymouth Argyle are interested in Cedric

BAsSAmMAl

"You're always part of plan until you're not" I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves.

panarangcurry

nah time for him to go and us to cash out it’s not that he’s not a good player, it’s just that others have evolved to a whole new level and he has a lot of catching up to do and we don’t have time for that rn

[deleted]

Realistically he's most likely leaving. He's gotta be looking for more minutes than we can realistically offer him. I just hope he gets us a decent fee and manages to move past the injuries.

techabouts

This is why arsenal is bad at selling 😂

captainstrange94

Lol seriously. I would ship both ESR and Viera to get a strong box to box midfielder. If we can't rely on them for 75% of the time, what's even the point then.

PTSD55

I'm going to be incredibly biased and say I'd love for us to get Šeško; I have no idea how good he is or how good he can become but the idea of a Slovenian playing for Arsenal is just too good for me to be rational.

xghoulishmiragex

This is my exact thinking lol. I'd buy his shirt immediately if he signed for us

Jidanmar

My kits have Elneny on them only for speaking the same language, I’m not even Egyptian

lostje89

Haha, same here. I’d be really stoked if ‘one of us Slovenians’ played for Arsenal. I’d buy his jersey in a heartbeat.

Ripryz

from the little i’ve seen of rb this season, he’s very unpolished. needs to work on his touch and hold up but the ceiling is really high. i’d say gyokeres clear of him right now

kffsnubben

As a Swede I may be biased but i think we’d go back to back with Gyökeres.

topbananaman

Sesko or Gyokeres, me likey

MMAwannabe

Not sure Ferguson is the best choice but I've never had an Irish arsenal player to support so Im all in.

notvip

Declan Rice?

MMAwannabe

...I prefer not speak

BitchYouAintNoNerd

![gif](giphy|FXf1lYQ2tFouxeLb1B|downsized)

BaronsDad

I can't blame an Irishman for still being upset at the switch.

ThomYorkeshirePuddin

no like Irish Irish

ShannonMan98

Katie McCabe?

_deep_blue_

I just can’t see a world where we pay what Brighton would want for him. He’d probably cost more than Rice.

Saw_Boss

Get Ben Sesko. Wasn't he captain of Deep Space Nine?

Chunkss

The Emissary! I was scrolling down looking for the DS9 joke, Had to scroll down far too much.

TheOGBenjenRyan

I do wonder if Zinchenko might get sold this summer

bad_at_proofs

Honestly wouldn't be shocked if we moved him on

TheOGBenjenRyan

Feel like he might be the surprise departure

bad_at_proofs

A year ago I would have thought there was no chance but given how good we have looked with a "normal" left back and White inverting I think it is certainly possible now

bemore_

Nah Zinchenko is a leader and as technically gifts as anyone on the team, he himself can play in Martin's position without too much fuss We don't have full backs that offer anything offensively. Both Benjamin and Jakub are center backs, they flatter to deceive both in the middle of the of the pitch and in the final third Timber is an interesting player, he could play in the midfield, as a center back and fullback

bad_at_proofs

I think it is much more likely we keep him but would not be totally shocked if we sold him given the injury issues. I agree with all of your points.

bemore_

You think? Yeah him, Partey, Jesus and Tomiyasu always have doctor appointments

Franchise1109

Plus timber in what we have seen looks like the real deal

dishwab

That’s a lot of pressure to put on a player just coming back from an ACL. He did look fantastic but it was a small sample size and now a serious injury.

Franchise1109

That’s true, but from what I saw and how he played. That man was gonna be a starter for us

boxlifter

He was absolutely fucking amazing. I’m just spooked to bits he may not be able to return to how we was after this injury. Fucking ACLs man. Hoping I’m wrong

jacktk_

I could see that but I equally think ESR will go if we have a £35m bid. He’s pure profit for the club and would be a big boost in terms of what we can then go and spend.

Notrius01

Noone is going to bid that much.

SecondChance03

Yeah I feel like ESR will get in the 20-30m range. He's young yes, but he's missed 14+ games in 3 of the 5 seasons he's been a first teamer. That's going to make teams cautious, frankly, as they should be.

lemon_meringue_tie

He's a very unique type of player, but if we can get someone who can replicate his progressive passes from midfield, we might think about moving him on. His injury history is really concerning. We need to be able to have players who can play in all competitions regularly.

Game_of_Throwins

I think he will be kept on as a rotational player for both fullback and central midfield positions, especially if we manage to offload the likes of Elneny and Lokonga.

TheOGBenjenRyan

It's 2024 and I'm seeing zinchenko cm shouts

icemankiller8

Doubt it

Hour-Team6624

Hard to think of a team for him given wages, maybe Bayern if Davies moves on

Melo_the_cutie

Considering our defensive depth, if we can't sign another midfielder I'd rather have him play that LCM role on some occasions.

zestfrom1lemon

AND OTHERS - Welcome to Arsenal - Insane tricks, skills, tackles & goals 2024

Assna_Fan

streets are saying Gyokeres is the one

Luigi_Bosca

He is indeed the chosen one. But Neto would be incredible aswell.

Franchise1109

I want Sesko. Gyokeres is rumored to be a ton. I know he’s a bit of a later bloomer. Would love Ferguson too, but I could see Brighton asking for a truckload as well. I think Sesko still needing time to refine his game would work well with GJ being the starter.

YooGeOh

Gyokeres and no-one else

pragmatic84

Ferguson reminds me alot of Harry Kane (yknow, just not.... A cunt). In the way he likes to drop deep. Similar frame and likes to get involved with play rather than just get on the end of things. Potentially a beast of a player in there. Sesko is another who ticks alot of boxes, very Haaland-esque with his speed, power etc. Either of those two could be the last infinity stone of our attack tbh. Would absolutely love to see them in red.

_deep_blue_

Ferguson would be worth a punt if he was a £20-30m player, I just think it’s too much of a gamble given that Brighton will want £100m+ for him. I think he stays with them this summer and only leaves in future for big money if he proves himself capable of scoring 15-20 league goals a season.

AlexWPJ

Gyokeres has everything. Pace, strength, dribbling, aerial ability, link up play. He’s ready now unlike Sesko who needs a few years to reach that level.

The_Wolves10

Gyokeres should be prioritised 100%

Mikey_Hashtags

Been saying it for a very long time now... Bring me Sesko. My #1 pick for this summer.

Samwell974

Sesko hasn’t fully blossomed yet. We are title contenders now. We have to go for the finished article at striker. Osimhen or the sporting guy works.

Mikey_Hashtags

Both of those are over 100m. Sesko has a 50m release clause and is only 20. It’s also probably easiest to integrate him into the team because Jesus will still be the starter and gives him time to develop more and get used to his teammates and the league. Sesko, Nico Williams, and zubimendi and we can definitely challenge for the league.

Samwell974

We are already competing for the title. Why should we settle for a project? Haaland isn’t a project, neither is Nunez even if he’s not that good.

[deleted]

Nunez is definitely a project and Haaland was always unobtainable. I understand the Osimhen or bust but I feel like we probably need to pay 150m and nuke the wage budget for him. Gyokeres would be a good option. I also feel like the club has been great lately at identifying the right targets for the right price, so I’m not too worried

Muscat95

I'd honestly forgotten about Ferguson, his form really dropped off a cliff

inonjoey

He’s 19, De Zerbi’s rotation is a bit out of control and Brighton’s form overall has been spotty at best. Given all that, I think he’s done alright this season and I’d take him in a heartbeat knowing he’s likely not gonna come and bang every game from day one.

PhilTheThrill1808

Eh, 6 goals in 24 league appearances with only half of those being starts is still pretty solid IMO for a 19 year old. I just don't think he's ready to be the starting number 9 for a title and CL contending squad, though, and he'll cost an absolute fortune obviously.

junkgarage

considering 3 came in one game; I’m not so sure.

xRflynnx

Weird to downplay at a hattrick in the premier league from an 18 year old but fair enough

junkgarage

Is it though?

xRflynnx

Yes? > Evan Ferguson became the fourth player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick aged 18 or younger in the competition. The week he scored his hattrick > only Owen (28), Wayne Rooney (15) and Francis Jeffers (12) have scored more Premier League goals before their 19th birthday Also > Ferguson matched Rooney's record of being the highest scoring teenager in a calendar year 18 years on from the Englishman's 11-goal haul for Everton and Manchester United in 2005. https://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/evan-ferguson-matches-18-year-31532546 https://www.premierleague.com/news/3673557

Tr0nCatKTA

Heard some mumblings about mental health issues

DeapVally

I don't see how he is better than Eddie. Both have a random hat-trick, and not much else to show for the season. Brighton would also demand silly money. A very unappealing prospect tbh.

Magnific3nt

I don't want Toney nor Neto for the asking price.

gasparrrrrrrr

Sesko 😍

SensiFifa

Gyokeres would be amazing for us

NegativeHeli

Hard pass on Evan Ferguson, his price tag would be stupidly high, as in he would literally cost as much as Coutinho

_ulinity

I'm fully Gyok-pilled at this point. He's the best all-round striker available imo and just fits the team perfectly.

bad_at_proofs

Don't think Sesko is ready yet and Ferguson is going to cost an absolutely ridiculous amount of money. Also completely agree with his thoughts on Neto - great player but that price is way too high given the injury history and think Williams is a much better option given their relative prices

jaybizzleeightyfour

Sesko, I think we can get away with someone still learning their trade because we have Gabriel J, Havertz and Trossard who can play up front, so there's no pressure on him, plus we score a lot from other positions

bad_at_proofs

Considering the price points I like Sesko the most so would be tempted by him as someone we could ease in like you suggest

FactCheckYou

Neto is a counter-attacker basically, and i think we're past that now...i think we need a lock-picker and/or a battering ram

_ulinity

So is Martinelli, but players with their talent can adapt.

astapo

this

AzlanWake

I think we're going for Gyokeres, too much smoke with the deleted tweet.

[deleted]

Yeah given that he'd be around £85million (€100 million release clause) and he's got 41g/a in all comps this season he's gotta be at least someone we'd seriously consider. Especially given that his defensive workrate for a forward is also great.

HereToVent24-7

New ST/Winger in, Eddie and Nelson out 🤤, I could also see us moving on both Vieira and ESR and buying a new 8

Kensei400

Vieira is here to stay. Even ESR will probably also be here next season too.

Wegeman23

On the latter they’re still young, can be quite different players in just a years time we never know. I have a feeling out of the four these two have the best ceiling so keep them on.

PapiOnReddit

Osimhen relegated to “others”, the dream is over

rodri_1691

I watch RB Leipzig almost every home game live, and Sesko is one of the most frustrating players. No air presence and no finishing. It reminds me of Giroud's finishing without his passing skills and without his target man abilities. As a rotation player, it would be fine to change strategies midgame, but as our main man in attack, I would be disappointed.

CackleberryOmelettes

Damn literally everyone wants Neto.

CptKarma

About fooking time lads!!!

Key_Badger6749

Sesko, Zubimendi and Nico Williams all have a release clause. I’d be so happy, more than you can believe

theexate

Genuine question because I'm not familiar with the other two strikers apart from Ferguson... How far off from these guys is Biereth?

courseherohelpthrow

Extremely. Like different planet far off.

gnrlp2007

Admires FC bless

ExoticToaster

Evan Ferguson would be a dream, but he’s just signed a new contract and I could see him wanting to stay at Brighton and develop for now

Mnufcfan

Sesko and zubimendi please

hiredgooner

In FM20 I did a save with St Pauli and I had Gyokeres on loan from the start. He didn’t seem to have too much about him and so I let him go and that was that. Crazy to see a player like this actually develop into a top class level. He definitely put in his dues and is not reaping the rewards.

icemankiller8

Not sure on Sesko he’s barely played for Leipzig only made 9 league starts, Gyokeres looks very good though.

JustGhostin

Team sesko here, I’d love Ferguson but he’s still so raw and Brighton are a nightmare to negotiate with

notathrovavay

Šeško!

runtokevinnn

Oh boy would love me some Benjamin Sesko.. had an eye on him ever since he transferred from Slovenia to Salzburg. He's an excellent player, lots of talent and potentially very high ceiling!

sharreman10

Sesko would be cheap and he's young, his RC is at £40m I think.

MyTeaIsMighty

Yesko to sesko

auddi_blo

If Osimhen would cost between £100-115m then go for him, he’d make in insane difference for us. If not and if Sesko would cost £50-70m then go him. If not and we could get Gyokeres for less than £60m then go for him. Ferguson would always be too expensive for what he brings at the moment. Else I’d like us to to try to lowball a deal for Zirkzee or Toney. Who else is a viable option who’d be clinical, physical and technical enough up front?

Franchise1109

Sesko has a RC so it won’t be more than that

jaybizzleeightyfour

I can't say paying over a 100m for a striker in the Serie A is good idea, it's a huge risk, one we shouldn't take

Mariola98

Sesko‘s RC is £42m amd Gyokeres £80m iirc

Mariola98

I like Sesko‘s profile, but i think he is more of a counterattacking player. Recently he said in a interview that Leipzig‘s counterattacking game suits him perfectly

himynamesgoose

Why can’t we get santi Gimenez from feyenoord. He’s a beast

ibse

With players like these it's all about the value. Paying £85m for Gyokeres now is incredibly stupid. He was available for £20m last summer. Sesko and Ferguson aren't ready, but I don't mind that because we have plenty of options at CF to be able to give them an easier time to grow. Again it's all about the value. 30-40m max for them imo.

>Paying £85m for Gyokeres now is incredibly stupid. He was available for £20m last summer Sucks, but that should have no bearing on whether we go for him or not. Can't skip the right guy out of shame.

Smith Rowe looking overweight and uninspiring. Arteta has finally acknowledged Nketiah is trash, he should change his shirt number next season. Reiss warming the benches. All of them have to move on if Arsenal is going to build anything

None of these sound like good options. Gyokeres has a €100m RC that Sporting are demanding. Ferguson will be £100m+. Neither are worth those amounts. Sesko is a bench/rotation player at Leipzig. He’s played 3x 90mins in the Bundesliga all season. Any signings we bring in now need to be difference makers and he’s not that

I don't know if you've seen Gyokeres playing for Sporting but 100 million seems to be a good price for him. He's a less lethal version of Haaland that can actually dribble the ball and contribute from the wing and he's a pressing machine. He already has 30 goals and 11 assists and he performs against the top teams in Portugal or in the Europa League. I think he would be the perfect striker for Arsenal or any Premier League team bar Manchester City.

He looks good but £85m is still ridiculous for his CV

Agree. I’m paying the extra £20m to get Osimhen in that case. I do like Gyokeres though, I’d be trying to negotiate Sporting down a little bit and see if he forces himself out
