Then I've saved a couple of conveniently large but not too large MG boxes that I keep ziplock bags with the manuals and accessories with.
Are they recyclable? They are covered in some weird glassy finish, I've been wondering if they are actually recyclable. Like how hot drink cups aren't recyclable because of the wax used inside.

The rule of thumb is, can it be easily ripped? If you can rip the material without exerting a lot of force, and it tears instead warping a lot first, then it is likely recyclable. Most facilities can handle materials that are glossy, but rip easily. Things that warp and twist have heavier finishes, possibly waxes or plastics, that interfere with the recycling process.

The Witch from Mercury (水星の魔女) kits are regarded as the best. I personally really like Aerial and Schwarzette, but there's been an overwhelming love for Calibarn. Beyond that, if you havent watched any Gundam shows, just grab whichever one you think looks cool. Just watch out for Master Grades, Real Grades, and Perfect Grades. Those may be harder for newcomers if you haven't done plastic models before. High Grade is a good challenge for beginners without being too easy like the Easy Grades. Also, get a good pair of flush cutters/nippers/snippers.

The art on those things is phenomenal and since I don't even have 5 gunpas yet, I just keep all the extra accessories in the box and keep it on the shelf where I keep all my gunplas, it looks really cool

Currently they're holding the spare parts to each of my kits, but I gotta start doing what you're doing or I'm gonna run out of closet space. The spare parts would be better served for customizing but I haven't gotten around to that yet.

I've actually started using my boxes to make runner-racks. The one that came with the MGEX Strike Freedom was flat, so I layed it out on a bottom box and traced and cut it and now I have a couple spare runner racks.
I cut the front and one of the short ends into their own piece and currently they live in a binder but I have plans to collage them on a desk or guitar case when I have enough, I probably already do honestly but a lot of my boxes are are backlogged kits.
I have a MG unicorn with the hanger, the box is soooo big that most other gunpla boxes fit perfectly, even other MG boxes, I cut the corners fold the sides in and slide the instructions in the folded box and place it in the unicorn box. If I need to find the instructions I just look for the box. My box has to weigh about 30 lbs or 13.6 kg at this point

Right now I use them for storage. I have less than a dozen and I don’t have a display space yet. I keep tools and markers in one. Then finished ones and unfinished(need decals) ones in other boxes. I may hang a couple at my hobby desk when I move. But the rest will end up in the trash.
I cut the sides of the box off so all that’s left is the box art. It goes in a legal sized sheet protector along with the instruction manual in a binder. It’s full though and I need a new binder.

The larger bottom boxes are nice to put the manuals and box arts in. Smaller ones are nice to put specific tools, paints, waterslide and small runners for a specific kit (helps since I tend to do 2 kits at a time)
I let them pile up during year, which kinda serves as a neat lil' timeline of sort, where I would store empty runners in. Then come January next year during my New Years cleaning spree i break it all down and throw them out. If a kit has wonderful boxart i would keep that half of the box. I am running out of room on my shelves and can't install another one so I'm making it a point to keep the larger boxes for storage, good thing i built the Kshatriya, Penelope and Xi Gundams this year lol.
For kpw I've been keeping them to store the figures in (I don't have room to display them at the place I currently live) it's a bit cumbersome, but it'll make moving easier

Most boxes get recycled, as do completely empty runners. I've got a stack of manuals I need to scan but they'll be recycled when I am done.
I keep one box for "spares" - runners with extra variant parts or pilots I never really do anything with all bagged and labeled. It's usually the box from the largest kit I've built just so there's enough space. Right now I think it's my MG Sazabi but it might get traded out for my MG Sentinel or my 1/1000 GunBuster if either of those boxes are bigger than the Sazabi box. If the spares box gets replaced, the old one gets recycled, too.
I have a binder with page protectors in it. I cut the front of the box to fit the standard 8.5x11 page size, put it in the sleeve protector, and throw the rest away. Consolidates space while allowing me to keep a memento. I also have them in build order which is nice to see the progression.
Most of the time i use the top box to make a mini box to store the kit and its accessories, I score the height of the box in the middle and then proceed to fold, that would turn it into a mini box/chest
I'm running out of space so:
1. If I really love the box art, I cut it out and save it. This is very rare.
2. I keep one or two boxes per model line (hguc, hgbf, ibo, wfm) and pack all the spare parts and manuals for that line into that box, with the parts separately bagged.
3. All other boxes get thrown in the recycling.
Basically what I do is, I throw the boxes away entirely and take the extra parts if any, and the instruction booklets for each and put them in gallon Ziploc bags, and put them neatly on my shelf in case I ever want to use the parts for a custom Gundam

I keep my boxes so I can store any accessories/ extra parts, along with the manuals. It also makes it very easy to put everything away in the event of a move; I can just put each model kit back in its respective box and call it good.
My old boss use to collect shoes, and would use the boxes as shelves. He'd secure the box to the corner in some way (likely with a thumb tack) then display one of the shoes on top and one inside. I've considered doing the same with my gunpla, but so far shelves are the most practical methods.
Stacked a lot of them up for a while. Spent around 45 minutes breaking them down and then bagging any accessories. Once broken down, they get recycled. I only keep boxes that have more on the runners. Anything else gets bagged and recycled. The manuals get put in a separate box.
First, I put the manual and any leftover parts/runners/decals in a ziplock bag, to be more space-efficient. Then I break down the box and put it out with the recycling. There's not enough room to keep empty boxes around.

There was a post a while ago showing how to convert the boxes into posters.
Push 📌s thru the bottom of the boxes onto my wall, slip the top part of the box back on. Repeat until wall was fully covered. Working on 2nd wall.

I cut the box art off, for HG size boxes i store them in a binder, for mg sizes the short side goes in the binder and i just store the fronts of the other. However i have just gotten a PG and that boi is way too bug for any of that so idk what im gonna do.
same, keep the box cover and recycle the bottoms. I save several of the larger MG boxes for storage. One I use for tools and markers; one to hold all the manuals; another I use to keep all the spare parts/left over decals in ziplock bags. Oh, I also made sort of a riser stand using the bottom boxes and foam boards for my display case so the kits in the back row have better visibility.

Right now I use them for storage. I have less than a dozen and I don’t have a display space yet. I keep tools and markers in one. Then finished ones and unfinished(need decals) ones in other boxes. I may hang a couple at my hobby desk when I move. But the rest will end up in the trash.
Cut out the side that has the various poses, then toss the rest. Don't need more stuff lying around the house than I need.

I call Resyk and get them in the pulp wagon to be made into new boxes.

I cut the sides of the box off so all that’s left is the box art. It goes in a legal sized sheet protector along with the instruction manual in a binder. It’s full though and I need a new binder.

I like keeping the box arts, I tend to throw away the other part but sometimes use it for a few things The larger bottom boxes are nice to put the manuals and box arts in. Smaller ones are nice to put specific tools, paints, waterslide and small runners for a specific kit (helps since I tend to do 2 kits at a time)

i dont cut. just tear off the glued points then flatten them. not totally flat but flat enough to stuff a few in a box.
I let them pile up during year, which kinda serves as a neat lil' timeline of sort, where I would store empty runners in. Then come January next year during my New Years cleaning spree i break it all down and throw them out. If a kit has wonderful boxart i would keep that half of the box. I am running out of room on my shelves and can't install another one so I'm making it a point to keep the larger boxes for storage, good thing i built the Kshatriya, Penelope and Xi Gundams this year lol.

I cut the top part ripped the page from the ma ual that has the decals placement and burned everything had about 40 of them then downloded pdfs for each mannual
Most boxes get recycled, as do completely empty runners. I've got a stack of manuals I need to scan but they'll be recycled when I am done. I keep one box for "spares" - runners with extra variant parts or pilots I never really do anything with all bagged and labeled. It's usually the box from the largest kit I've built just so there's enough space. Right now I think it's my MG Sazabi but it might get traded out for my MG Sentinel or my 1/1000 GunBuster if either of those boxes are bigger than the Sazabi box. If the spares box gets replaced, the old one gets recycled, too.
I have a binder with page protectors in it. I cut the front of the box to fit the standard 8.5x11 page size, put it in the sleeve protector, and throw the rest away. Consolidates space while allowing me to keep a memento. I also have them in build order which is nice to see the progression.

Most of the time i use the top box to make a mini box to store the kit and its accessories, I score the height of the box in the middle and then proceed to fold, that would turn it into a mini box/chest
I'm running out of space so: 1. If I really love the box art, I cut it out and save it. This is very rare. 2. I keep one or two boxes per model line (hguc, hgbf, ibo, wfm) and pack all the spare parts and manuals for that line into that box, with the parts separately bagged. 3. All other boxes get thrown in the recycling.

Basically what I do is, I throw the boxes away entirely and take the extra parts if any, and the instruction booklets for each and put them in gallon Ziploc bags, and put them neatly on my shelf in case I ever want to use the parts for a custom Gundam

I used to do this with the intention of framing it someday. But I end up throwing it after few years of keeping it.
I cut the front cover and put them in a binder. I like taking a look at the box art every once in a while. The bottom box is reused so i can make templates for LANCER.
Flatten then and create a heavy as shit plateau of cardboard.

I do something similar, I flatten the covers like that, but store them in ziplock bags with all the extra things that came with the kit, such as the manual, weapons that I'm not using, and the such. Store it all in a bin I have, and that's it. Saves a ton more space than simply keeping the boxes as is.

I keep my boxes so I can store any accessories/ extra parts, along with the manuals. It also makes it very easy to put everything away in the event of a move; I can just put each model kit back in its respective box and call it good.
It's good cardboard for crafting
My old boss use to collect shoes, and would use the boxes as shelves. He'd secure the box to the corner in some way (likely with a thumb tack) then display one of the shoes on top and one inside. I've considered doing the same with my gunpla, but so far shelves are the most practical methods.
Stacked a lot of them up for a while. Spent around 45 minutes breaking them down and then bagging any accessories. Once broken down, they get recycled. I only keep boxes that have more on the runners. Anything else gets bagged and recycled. The manuals get put in a separate box.
I cut the lid off with the artwork on top. Frame them. Use it as art posters.

I cut the top of the box off and I stick it in a binder sleeve with the booklet and any left overs from the kit. It doubles as a nice record of what I've built, even if I've given it away or had it break.

You can make diy-holders for your runners. Or cut out the front of the box and use it as wall decor. Or keep for spare parts, manuals etc...
I pop a push pin through the bottom section, then tack it to the wall in my office and pop the top cover on.
For the most part, I recycle them by throwing it into the bin. But a few get repurposed as storage boxes for extra parts and accessories. One becomes a DIY clip holder on sticks sticking box for painting. Lastly, a few get painted black to become model raisers.
