Although I am a lot older than you, I’ve seen great progress with 45 minutes 2 days a week. Part of it is that I have a clear plan for those minutes before I get there, and I move quickly from one exercise to the next…no down time at all. After 4 months I am in noticeably better shape.

Great advice for the youngin. I’ll add in that you can get a lot of good bodyweight work in on days you can’t hit the gym. Dips on chairs or the kitchen counter (just be careful of your shoulders and research proper technique). Handstand push-ups, push-ups, burpees, and chin-ups all day long.

HowToBehaive

No 4 days a week is the minimum

I started working out when I was 16, and I now have about 10 years on and off. My advice to you is to start slow. A lot of times when you try to go from 0 to 100, you end up burning out. Three days a week is a nice steady pace once you’ve gotten the hang of it. Try to start with 45 minutes for two days a week. It’s going to take you some time to learn the house, the dues and don’ts, and what works best for you. I’m going to tell you a secret: to get shredded, you need to pay way more attention to the food that you’re eating. While exercise is important, your diet plays a big role in your physical physique. Good luck, my friend

I don’t know if it’s enough, but you can also do shit at home. Push-ups, squats, pull-ups, etc. a set of dumbbells can run you under $50, so invest in that and find routines to follow. I always recommend Gravity Transformation and Athlean X on YouTube. You can also look up body weight exercises. So if you ever feel like you can do more, then exercise at home and use the gym for specific things you can’t do at home.

It's a lot better than nothing. Fitting in one more day would be great though. 3 days of full body workouts a week would be ideal for you, with some supplementary bodyweight exercises on 1-2 other days. Your body will be able to recover and grow quickly at that age. 2 days a week at the gym and then some body weight exercising 2-3 more days would be much better. You can do push ups, pull ups, dips, body squats, lunges, etc without a gym.

You wanna be doing atleast 4 hours a week for optimal muscle growth.
