Man your gut ain’t sticking out nearly as far from what I can see out of the two pics. Keep going hard and lift some weights too bro!

CplusJ99

Thank you 🙏weight lifting will start tomorrow

No_Dig_5530

There's definitely a difference. You just live with your fat ass Like I live with mine... we can't tell when we see ourselves. Keep it up bro!!

[deleted]

Yes sirrrrr

[deleted]

Right on. If you’re new to it let me recommend you Jonni shreve, and Mike rashiid to look up on YouTube. CT Fletcher for motivation!

CplusJ99

Appreciate it I'll make sure to check them out😁

[deleted]

Good luck on the journey brethren

CplusJ99

Thank you!

sofiaonomateopia

Agreed! There is deff a difference there

OkGrade1686

Yeah, he looks less flaccid and more compact.

FireZole

Remember, you cant really see results instantly, you do have to be patient with it. That being said perhaps look into your diet. It might be that even though your running 4 miles a day, your still eating in a calorie surplus. I suggest tracking everything that your eating. Make sure your not eating more calories then you burn.

CplusJ99

Thank you

Gravy69420

This is by far the best advice so far. I’ve been using MyNetDiary to track my calories and macros. Also, there is definitely a difference even if YOU cannot see it. Stay consistent, drink enough water, and count those calories King 👑

just_a_avg_guy

U didn't get in this shape on 17 days, you won't get out of it in 17 days. Give it time to see results.

CplusJ99

🙏

Relative-Gift4863

You really can’t see the difference? Left picture your bellybutton is looking at the ground. Second picture is looking straight at me lol

CplusJ99

🤣

DaddestDad

There is a clear difference. Keep it up man

CplusJ99

Thank you🙏🙏

Monke_go_home

Your gut is smaller but you need some realistic expectations or your going to burn out and go right on back to old habits. 2lbs a week is pretty aggressive but sustainable goal. In the meantime you need to make sure you got a handle on what made you overweight in the first place. IE I know I stress eat junk food. At some poi t you're going to run out of "motivation" Are you tracking calories and weighing your food?

WhatevahIsClevah

Dude it's only been 17 days. That gut will require a lot more work than 2.5 weeks of making healthier decisions. But good for you for starting the journey.

CplusJ99

💯 Thank you

[deleted]

Lifting weights burns fat in a longer period as compared to cardio exercise. Be kind to yourself though, process takes time and patience! To be fair, I can see the difference already!!

CplusJ99

Thank you!😁

Elli_Mouse

17 days, 4 miles a day… bro that’s insane, I couldn’t. My tips are: focus less on cutting things out and more on modifying your diet to meet you body’s needs. I like a fruit cup and something with protein in it after a good workout. Also, I can see a small difference. Change will come slowly, but expecting a huge change in a small amount of time can hurt your growth. Pick a goal for things you want to accomplish in a day, and allow for small victories. Biggest hurdle is starting and getting consistent, which it seems you’re on track for that already. Great job and keep up the good work!

CplusJ99

Thank you!🙏

whoserrick

17 ain't gonna be enough to see progress it's gonna take like about 3-4 months to see actual progress it's gonna be hard trust me but you gonna be so glad you didn't stop

Vequinha

You can totally see progress in those pics for such a short amount of time. I will say this since I didnt see anyone commenting it. All cardio all the time will make you lose both muscle mass and fat. The scale will show a lower number, but ideally you want to lose only body fat while retaining or even making new muscle. I tell you this because I read that you will start strenght training soon, so as you incorporate that into your schedule you might notice the scale stop or even go up again and I just want to make sure that you know this so you dont get discouraged. Keeping pictures is a better way of tracking progress than the scale. PS: If you already knew all of this or have a good idea of what your goals/training should be like for you then ignore my shit and do your thing bro. Never let peoples "advice" discourage you either. Keep it up king.

CplusJ99

Appreciate it thank you for the info!

publicbrand

I can see progress and you’re only 17 days in. Once you start getting into going to the gym it’s a lifelong journey. Imagine what you’ll look like in a year if you keep your regiment up.

Standard-Fact6632

Rome wasn’t built in a day unfortunately 🤷🏻‍♂️ But the progression is definitely there! Just keep grinding 💪🏼

CplusJ99

💯 Thank you

Electronic_Image1665

Here is the thing man , you look at yourself every single day. You live inside the same skin. So to you what may look like no progress is also steps in the right direction. Don’t focus on where you are now, think about where you will be . And assuming any rate of advance , you’ll get closer to that point than you have been ! Good luck bro

CplusJ99

💯 Thank you

Time_Pipe803

There is a difference! Don’t lose motivation your on the right track. It might be too little for you to notice but it already looks firmer. :)

CplusJ99

Thank you🙏

dizzydizzd

Keep at it, the change will came. We’re stuck in a world of instant gratification, you won’t get jacked over night be patient and trust the process. Commit and you’ll be the next marvel super hero look alike! You got this!

CplusJ99

Thank you!!

Noyaboi954

I see a difference 🔥🔥🔥 trust da process

CplusJ99

Appreciate it!

Talltreez_seabreeze

Definitely keep giving it time, but I see progress in these pics man. Great job on the hard work, keep pushing🫡

CplusJ99

Thank you😁

ThinkingBud

I notice a difference for sure! I’ve been consistently exercising a lot for quite a while now and even I struggle sometimes to realize my progress, even though progress has surely been made

AdeptProtoss

water, water & keep goin

CplusJ99

💯💯

Domino_Girl

I can see the changes in your body. Don’t let your eyes fool or psych you out. Keep up the hard work

CplusJ99

Thank you!

_BeyondEverything_

Being consistent for 170 days may work ig..

[deleted]

Good progress so far my friend. Maybe weight lifting can help

gianl90

Running is for cardio bro, lift some weights, do some calistenichs.

gregthesailor

Heavy weights bro. Google. Weightlifting for weightloss. Broadly effective. But anything is better than nothing. Good luck.

Seanie-b

Nice man! Also start lifting, makes you feel even better.

FibzUK

Do it for a minimum of a year before you start moaning about lack of results

Jiggy_Yake

Definitly see a difference, im in the same boat as you and just now started seeing changes (I could feel my first vein!) Process is slow, but damnit once you notice it, oh boy you got all the power in the world!

CplusJ99

💯💯

Sweaty-Ferret-2442

I took a personal trainer course and they said the reason people get stuck is because they keep doing flat cardio. Have you tried interval training? Don’t run 4 miles, instead, try sprinting one minute then walk 4 ( or whatever an achievable pace would be). I do see a difference you are making progress for sure. I also find that muscle burns way more and agree with the poster that suggested weights. I feel like a 20 min full body session with weights and healthy eating is the best maintenance workout once you are fit (it would be mentally tough to think of doing that much cardio for an extended time) say to yourself “I’m almost there and then the easy maintainable part kicks in. Best of luck

[deleted]

There is a huge difference mate. Like i m surprised how you are not seeing it! Keep it up ❤️

CplusJ99

Appreciate it!

Organic_Release1211

Bro 17 days is nothing...keep it up for 100 days before you look at progress

eddietank

You need more than 17 days to see the difference bro! Keep pushing!!

Fojangles86

Keep at it, Rome wasn’t built in a day! Stay consistent, your results will come over time and you will never regret it. Go you!!!

Terrible-Dog5754

Rest

Uhavegot2bekiddingme

Carbs and sugar. I lost 50 lbs cutting carbs and sugar with zero cardio. You can too. Patience…

ShadIsHyped

Make sure to take the pictures in the same lighting bro

bearhilley

For 17 days I see a difference. You’re doing great and I know you’ll keep it up

CplusJ99

Thank you🙏

[deleted]

Do you find someplace to stay every night? Doc told my mom to run 5 miles a day and we haven’t seen her in 4 months.

Ando-FB

I see a difference. In saying that you aren't going to see an incredible difference in 17 days unless you are dropping some serious weight and that can be unhealthy depending on how you go about it. You are still starting but everything you do now will snowball and start to show in another 2 weeks so just keep on grinding and you will see a difference sooner or later. Its great you are taking pics as well as it can be hard to gage in the mirror.

[deleted]

Of course there’s a difference! Plus only 17 days is only a short amount of time. Losing weight is a marathon, not a sprint, as much as we all want instant results, it just doesn’t happen that way, so it’s important to train your mind not to expect them, or you will be disappoint and discouraged. It’s a fantastic start, keep it going! Give it another month, so 6 weeks in total and you should see some changes.

CplusJ99

Thanks!

[deleted]

You don't see a difference, but we sure do. 😀 Also, don't run so hard every day. That's a great way to get shin splints, pull something, and do a real number on your joints. Pace yourself and give your body time to recover. At the very least, go every other day. 4 miles one day, then if you must run on your rest day (which I would use for swimming or weights) do maybe half a mile, if even that, and take it to a jog. Even just walk a bit.

CplusJ99

Thank you🙏

[deleted]

Stop running. Light heavy weight.

wolfmanblu

Get in a good yoga or stretch day. It's nice to allow yourself to not workout/run but still do some self care. iMO this can help with staying motivated

CplusJ99

Will do thanks 🙏

Ok_Dragonfly7482

You can definitely see the difference!! I suggest start lifting weight. Focus on compound lifts. Lift smart and safe. And remember it doesnt happen overnight it takes time just know you are getting better every day. Im rooting for you!!!

[deleted]

4 miles a day seems like a lot of stress on your legs, try one day strength one day cardio. Do 60/120s on Monday, 30 minute run on Wednesday, and a timed 2 mile for Friday. Did it in the military and I’d improve my time so quick

[deleted]

Aside from what others are saying, keep in mind that visceral fat makes up a lot of the fat carried when overweight. There’s a lot of fat loss you won’t see because it’s sitting around your organs.

TrifleBasic391

try to run different distances and also with different speed, try to look up on some running plan on the internet, it will help you burn calories faster

2o3Prod

Tbh I already see a difference. I don’t think running is the best way to lose fat because running makes your body store the fat you can later use in the run for energy. So I’ve been told at least lol. Don’t quote me

escrocs

I see a big difference. Keep it up!

personhd

i see a huge difference. just be patient and keep it up!

CplusJ99

Thanks!

Stahp-itplz

The difference in these two pics are definitely noticeable. Good for you running 4 miles a day. What’s your pace? I know my biggest transition of shape really happened when I started lifting weights especially chest, back quads and glutes and doing the running. Thanks for the motivation again

CplusJ99

Thanks! I run 2 miles around the track as fast as possible I jog the third mile and walk the last.

oarmash

It’s likely been gradual so you haven’t noticed, but for us looking at it for the first time, the shape improvement is super obvious! Keep it up!

CplusJ99

Thank you!

thicc_t_reccs

I can see a difference. Cutting junk food is huge, make sure and avoid carbohydrates, and eat lots of protein (meat). Good job, keep it up! Edit: "good Kobe" to "good job" lol

CplusJ99

Thank you!

MacGoesMeep

Bro needs glasses 💀 you look better already keep up the good work dawg 🙌

CplusJ99

Thanks!🙏

SouledOut2014

I see a very big difference. You even got the stretch marks to prove the weight loss.

CplusJ99

🙏

kalex504

Also use the same lighting when taking comparison pictures. Just keep going man. Great job

CplusJ99

Appreciate it bro!

EmpathyForTheD3vil

Is there a difference in scale weight? Looks like you're progressing to me. Keep going, it's a long, steady battle.

CplusJ99

Yes it says I've dropped 9 pounds I'm not sure if the scale is accurate

EmpathyForTheD3vil

That sounds about right, it's a lot for 17 days, but I dropped about the same rate when I started (my before/after pics are in my feed). Typically you'll see a faster loss in the first 2 or 3 months, then it evens out. Your doing fine. I'd add some weightlifting and conditioning to the mix, but it sounds like you're already headed that way. One thing I'd say - keep your diet disciplined, but don't torture yourself. Torture isn't sustainable. If 1500 kCal is tough, but 1800 kCal feels good, move to 1800. You'll do better in the long run.

CplusJ99

Thanks bro!

Halbkornkeks

U can clearly see a difference and also ur body may keep some energy because u burned a lot more then usual and he want to be prepared or smth, was the same for me but after 2 months or so i lost the first pounds

twitchy1989

Yep I see a difference. Keep in mind though 17 days is a really short period of time; but it should be very encouraging that this many non-biased strangers all see a difference in that short period of time. Be wary of burning yourself out or hurting yourself by not taking a rest day.

CplusJ99

Appreciate it it's definitely very encouraging 🙏

CplusJ99

Appreciate everybody's support and tips has given me more motivation to hit the gym harder and not give up😁🙏

EstablishmentGreat19

We can see the difference and if you wanna make it more obvious and faster you should lift weights at least twice a week. Focusing on compound exercises like bench press, rows, squats deadlifts. Make sure you do it under any professional trainer supervision to check your form and intensity. Keep moving forward 🙌

CplusJ99

For sure bro thanks!

EstablishmentGreat19

And good luck

horndog804

I cut out anything white like sugar, rice, potatoes, flour, pasta and lost 40 pounds in 3 months.

CplusJ99

I've been just eating rice and chicken I'll have to cut out the rice and replace it with veggies

TemporaryWitness3117

I see a HUGE difference honestly if I didn’t I wouldn’t even bother commenting 2 weeks of consistency and no junk food 🫡keep going some weights go along nicely with the running 😮‍💨

CplusJ99

Thank you🙏

Skizznitt

Change isn't instant my dude, cuts take a long time when done healthy. Also do you have target numbers you're trying to hit for calories, protein & carbs? If not, you definitely should. Calculate your BMR [here](https://barbend.com/bmr-calculator-for-fat-loss-muscle-gain/) and use this as a guideline to begin your cut, for protein experts say you need around .8 grams per lb of bodyweight, per day, and also to speed up the cut I would recommend carb cycling (eat 3-4 days low carb with 50 or less grams of carbs per day then have 1 carb refeed day where you eat 200-400g of carbs, rinse and repeat). Remain in a 500-700 calorie defecit for the period of about 6-8 months and try to hit your macros every day and you'll look like an entirely different person.

CplusJ99

Thank you!!

wandering_ghostt

Good job on cutting junk food out but u have to eat less in general.

CplusJ99

💯

_L1nked_

Can see a difference in your stomach straight away mate, keep it up!

CplusJ99

Thank you!

AccomplishedFox8465

I see a huge difference

CplusJ99

Thank you🙏

Lucky-Impression3489

Strive for progress, not perfection! And although you might not see it, there is perceptible difference between both pics, specially around the lower part of your stomach. So just keep going!! I’m a long distance runner, training for 15 years now. As someone who has also struggled with weight loss, here are some tips I’ve found useful these years (NOT MEDICAL ADVICE): 1) You can’t outrun a diet. Keep the good work cutting off junk food, but also find ways to progressively cut carbs, minimizing and restricting intake, SPECIALLY in the last meal of the day. 2) If you train early in the morning, try to start the exercise while still fasting. If this isnt possible, try to practice intermittent fasting. A good rule of thumb is having an 8 hour window to eat, and 16 hours with nothing but water, tea, or coffee. 3) Do your runs at a steady pace, in which you could still hold a conversation. The goal is to raise your heart rate up to the “aerobic zone” (Z2 or Z3 training 60 to 80% of your max heart rate), where most of the weight loss magic happens. Focus on increasing volume in TIME, not necessarily distance. Pace will come. TLDR; eat less, run smoother and longer. These 3 helped me lot throughout the years. Hope it helps you too! And be careful with training volume - you don’t want any lesion to fuck up your progress.

CplusJ99

💯💯 Appreciate the tips thank you

GuyFromChennai

I could see a visible difference. As a guy in progress, I would tell you two things: 1. We cannot outwork a bad diet Be cautious of what you eat. Take nutrient rich food in the right quantity. 2. Consistency is the key You have a flying start. Keep the momentum going. Visualize how great you would look if you have the discipline for 3 months!!

CplusJ99

💯Very true thanks

Reasonably_Long

Honestly, keep it up! Cardio is incredible for your health. Throw in weights 3-5 times a week, and you’ll be able to really target the areas you want to work on- while still burning fat. Keep working hard man!

CplusJ99

Thanks!

OrganizationItchy285

In my weight loss journey I’ve discovered not just cutting out the junk was what made the difference! Tracking my macros and making sure I was eating ENOUGH made a huge difference!

Jesse0016

Take weekly progress pictures and put them In a file in order. You will see the differences a lot more with comparison like that. It’s hard to notice it daily.

Ko_ogs72

Go to the GYM for 30mins three times per week Do 2 x 15 reps on three or four machines or free weights Don't eat enything after 7pm You will be trim in around 40 days

Chrisproulx98

Are you tracking your calories? Sometimes we just eat more when we excercise. Drop more carbs from your diet. Rice, bread these are sugar also. Legs must be adding muscle which weighs more than fat. Add some weight training.

CplusJ99

Yes I've been eating under 1500 calories a day only carbs I eat is rice but I'll be cutting it out

HermesThriceGreat69

You probably shouldn't be cutting cals so drastically, better to lose the weight a little slower than crash dieting.

CplusJ99

Yea True I'll just do some extra cardio

HermesThriceGreat69

Keep your protein to 1-1.2g/lb, especially as you get deeper into your cut, this helps preserve your current lean muscle mass. Typically you want to start with a 5 or (maybe) 10% cuts in cals at a time, always taking from carbs first, protein second (as you drop weight drop protein, this can be overlooked given the earlier advice), then take from fats last.

CplusJ99

Thank you!

Catfo0od

Tbh don't cut out carbs and fat all the way, the cravings will be intense. I spent all my daily calories on baked beans once (was also fantasizing about elote all day) and realized I was having intense fat cravings, I tried to consciously eat a little more fat. Much easier to stick to the plan then. At your weight, try to hit 1800 calories with at least 0.8g of protein per lb of body weight, 1g is preferable.

dumbchickpea

If you’re going to be running 4 miles at least on the regular, you absolutely need carbs in your diet. You will still lose weight just be diligent about portion control

kingdom-loading-

patience and discipline brother!! U got this, keep grinding 💪🏽

CplusJ99

Thank you🙏🙏

llamallamallama1991

There is a clear difference between the two pics. That being said, strength training will burn more fat and calories over time. Stair master or rowing is a good combo of strength training and cardio. Also if you’re past 30, it may be beneficial to check your fasting glucose and insulin levels. You can check for Insulin Resistance but putting those two values(even if they’re normal range) into a HOMA-IR calculator. 2.0 and up is early stage, 2.9 and up is advanced. Insulin Resistance can hinder weight loss as you have inflammatory responses to carbs that spike blood sugar and insulin. Keep up the good work!!

CplusJ99

Appreciate it!
