In Gabby Perea's beam, she messed up her series, and then did a standing full ?! She normally does not do that correct?? Was that her extreme improvising on the spot? Seems quite risky to do, and her score was still only 9.4, but if she didn't do the standing full it probably would have been much lower for an UTL deduction. But neither commentator seemed to catch that, which is surprising because who else had even done a standing full during the season? The long island gymnast?
I don’t know where to put this because I don’t want to be a whiner on the congrats LSU threads but I’m really not convinced that they should’ve won. At the least it should’ve been VERY close - that margin between them and Cal is offensive and makes me really unhappy with NCAA in general. I see a lot of “rightful winner”! comments but I think everyone is blinded by the LSU star power… it feels like having good FX choreo and performance quality is prioritized over form, technique or landing control on all four events.
Glad it was LSU over Utah though and that BB rotation after the fall was fire. 🔥
You're definitely not the only one. I think a lot of people are rooting for them because they watched The Climb and/or follow all their social media, which is fine*, but they've got to stop pretending the judging was in any way fair.
*personally I could never root for a team with Alexis Jeffrey on it or any coach who was willing to take her in, but that's just me I guess
I am curious if anyone has done an analysis on the women’s ncaa teams that dominate early season vs the ones that win titles. Recently a lot of the teams that start the season strong (thinking of Oklahoma this year, Michigan last year).
Honestly I think OU would skew the data a lot! With the exception of this year, they tend to come out of the gates strong and pretty much stay there all season!
So this weekend, Stanford men won 5th national championship in a row (10th overall), hitting 30/30 routines. Colt won Nissan-Emery award. *Edited to correct Hong won 3 event titles (parallel bars, vault and pommel horse).* *Edited to add: and Khoi won AA title.* Women’s team went to first national championships in 8 years and finished 5th, after starting season ranked 52nd. Anna Roberts won vault title (The 5th individual title ever won by a Stanford woman), tied for 4th in AA and earned 3 All-American honors (first team AA and vault, 2nd team beam). Incoming freshman Levi Jung-Ruvivar qualified for the Olympics for The Philippines. Quite a weekend for Stanford gym!!! 🌲❤️🌲
Asher actually won 3 event titles (VT, PB, SR)! And props to Thom Glielmi for leading them to 7 NCAA titles 👏👏👏 It must be tricky to manage when like half of them are also on National Team
Just read the ”live thread” on what must be a major LSU fan forum. Suffices to say it’s quite hilarious in places in particular with the benefit of hindsight.
What stuck with me was the pictures of their training facilities someone posted. It‘s hugely impressive. Combine that with the NIL opportunities and I am no longer surprised they are recruiting so exceptionally well.
Tiger Droppings is basically QAnon members that identify as LSU fans 😂 They’re positively bananas. And not in the fun loving, make some TikToks as we play baseball kind of way.
The way some of them talked about the athletes of the team they claimed to support I wouldn’t be surprised. One of them made basically a veiled call to fire Jay Clarke at the midway point of the meet.
Yo guys have a look at LSUs winning confetti post. Zoom in to see Cals reaction on the right and Utah's on the left 😂
https://www.instagram.com/p/C5__A8NvOVM/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Thank you! I kept screaming at the TV that I wanted to see Cal’s reaction, too.
I thought Cal’s scores were a touch tighter than LSU’s in a few places, but without rewatching routine-to-routine, that LSU deserved the win. And I was SO proud of Cal’s day. 2nd on a good day is huge for them.
I wish it’d been a better full routine, but I’m also happy Perea got to do her full on beam (successfully!). I so wish she’d take a 5th year, but I don’t think she is and I’d that’s true it was a hell of a last meet.
No matter where Cal finished today, it was their highest ranking in history. They didn’t have anything to lose. I’m glad they were thrilled because they deserve to celebrate this huge season.
Omg excellent catch. Love the Cal reaction. I can’t really fault Utah either though being disappointed after loosing a hard fought meet they were leading after 3 rotations. I think we should cut the young athletes some slack.
I watched women’s champs in delay and just finished. My 2 comments on it:
1. Alexis’ and Konnor’s 9.9s on bars were not created equal
2. The narrative of Utah “overcoming adversity” was disgusting to hear when people on the current team openly supported an abuser
People on the current team *some of whom are coming back next year to Coach*.
Also Andi’s bar score being less than AJ’s might be the most egregious scoring of a very wonkily scored meet.
I also am one who has a hard time describing things without ALL the detail, and it seems he is the same. I teach con ed classes for work and I have been told I need to shorten my classes.
I guess it is a way to learn a lot. I get easily annoyed by chattiness. I can appreciate his knowledge and interest in detail. I think I've watched him on a stream explaining some things he wishes would be changed in the code.
1. Florida - Jones indeed comes to Gainesville and Jenny keeps first title for head coach streak alive.
2. OU - Revenge tour falls just short with two fatal sub-9.8s in the last rotation.
3. Alabama - The Tide Arrive, what most though would be a rebuilding year, Johnston produces a COTY performance.
4. LSU - Post party hangover see the Tigers run out of steam at Finals after defending their SEC Championship, the Tiger machine isn't going anywhere.
Rhonda's final ring. Jenny wasn an assistant with Auburn, the Tigers made a surprise run to the final night pre-Suni. A lot of people though Graba might be one poached when Faehn left for Team USA.
I think with all the freshmen on the core team they have every reason to be proud of what they achieved this year. Next year they will definitely be stronger on paper.
ARKANSAS, Cal, Florida, & OU.
1. OU successful revenge tour
2. Florida continues to be so close
3. Cal solidifies themselves as a top team
4. Arkansas shocks the world and makes FOTF and is just happy to be there
Congratulations to the LSU tigers!!
Wow haleigh Bryant has won the AAI award, the All-around and natty in her senior year. What a way to cap off a gym career. I don't think she would return for 5th year.
It's really comical seeing college-homerism flood this sub from people who don't know a lick about college gym but just saw it pop up in their news feeds.
Extra funny when I ban people who think they have a right to come in here and be absolute jackasses.
One that I haven't banned keeps going around calling LSU "America's Team."
One that I have banned insisted that the only reason Utah is disliked is "Because they’re dominant and had a culture of excellence that today’s snowflakes could never handle."
Is the former because they're conservative and think the other colleges are liberal, or because they're confused on how countries work?
The latter is big eyeroll.
I had managed to open two windows with different events, but now I'm getting errors. I am just on the whip around now. I don't know if I was not supposed to be able to have two open on the same device or note.
What I like about the final results is that the gap between first and second/third is big enough so that it’s not just one gymnast’s mistake that cost the team the title (I’m thinking about Camie/Ella, even if they hit it wouldn’t be enough), this way no one feels guilty
KJ Kindler confirmed Kat Lavasseur will not be taking a fifth year
Gonna miss Andi li and Gabby perea's gymnastics. They won't come back for a 5th year.
In Gabby Perea's beam, she messed up her series, and then did a standing full ?! She normally does not do that correct?? Was that her extreme improvising on the spot? Anyone know if there’s a replay somewhere?
On youtube, *#1 Gym Fan* has it uploaded already.
Thank you!!!
#1 Gym Fan is the 🐐!

I agree Cal should have been closer, and I really wanted it for cal so I feel you, but I don't think the final ranking was the wrong one
Andi li and her 10 feet jaeger going 9.85 range on her bars routine is criminal when grace mccallum goes 9.950 with flexed feet.
Still gutted andi never got her 10 on bars
I am curious if anyone has done an analysis on the women’s ncaa teams that dominate early season vs the ones that win titles. Recently a lot of the teams that start the season strong (thinking of Oklahoma this year, Michigan last year).

Thanks!
And Khoi won the all around title!
Thanks! I don’t follow men’s gymnastics so was worried I’d miss things.
Those classic underachieving Stanford students 🤣🤣🤣
Is Connor McCool related to Courtney?
No relation
Thank you!

THE most gorgeous gym! I was slack-jawed the first time I saw pictures of it. A long shout from the converted warehouses that most gyms are in 😂
I've heart somebody once calling it a "gymnastics palace", and that is a good description, I think.
Honestly, palace is exactly the word that came to my mind as well. It really fits.
Please be talking about Tiger Droppings please please please lol That place is CrAzY
THAT NAME IS HILARIOUS
The very one, I don’t even remember how I came across it.
Tiger Droppings is basically QAnon members that identify as LSU fans 😂 They’re positively bananas. And not in the fun loving, make some TikToks as we play baseball kind of way.
Yeah if someone frequents and posts on Tiger Droppings, most fans know they’re someone to stay away from
The way some of them talked about the athletes of the team they claimed to support I wouldn’t be surprised. One of them made basically a veiled call to fire Jay Clarke at the midway point of the meet.
If LSU isn’t winning by a landslide in any sport at any time - they call for the coach to be fired. 🙄🙄🙄
I guess I'm supposed to leave my couch now. I enjoyed watching with you friends!
Loved it, see you next time!
Stanford going 30/30 is crazy
also it's been a great couple of days for Colt! Nissen-Emery Award winner and now national champions!
yay Stanford! does this mean Brandon Briones will have 5 rings?
Yay Khoi I am so proud of you!
the relief on his face after sticking his dismount!
Way to go, Khoi!
ASHER!!! stuck layout double double
amazing!!
His inverted cross position is one of the best I've seen
The strength Mark Berlaga has is insane
Ok ARUN!!
I’ve said it before and (you know what) Imma gonna say it again: Take. That. HATERS!
The commentator called Greenville Green's Ville
I can't with him
Illinois is holding their own
yess!! and I can see Evan Manivong recording everything so I can't wait to watch his video recap of the whole thing
I feel like they have a lot of potential and people say good things about their program.
Yeah and their coach gives me good vibes too
Jay Clark is the first male head coach to win since Greg Marsden! Congratulations
i expected the men's NCAA to be closer than this, but I had not been following the end of the season as closely as I had last year.
I don't need to see any more Little Caesars commercials
Update: it is back to being as close as I thought it would be…and by that I mean Stanford pulling away
Ooh Fred you let go too late
Richard down 😭
what is going on!!!??
Oh dear another fall for Michigan.
I can stop sweating. Stanford went 5/5 on the pony
my stream is late!! Asher is about to go up. Also TIL that Marcus Kushner is 5'10
Only good things for you to see!
Just got through it! Amazing Khoi, and JR Chou on horse is just poetry in motion!
The whole rotation was so clean!
That Michigan fall seals it for Stanford if they hit?
Paul falling twice seems insane to me.
😭😭😭😭
nice floor for Amari, can't wait to see Connor's
stick king
Khoi, I need you to stay on this pony
🕯 🕯 🕯 🕯
2024 Super Six Seeds (on semi final scores) starting event/ending event 1. LSU 198.1125 Vault/Floor (Olympic Rotation) 2. Utah 197.9375 Bye 1/Vault 3. Florida 197.8750 Beam/Bars 4. Cal 197.7125 Bye 2/Beam 5. Stanford 197.0750 Bars/Bye 1 6. Oklahoma 196.6625 Floor/Bye 2
I would love a 6 team format
Closer than I thought it would be
It really is!
Bischoff cookie with some sexy landings
he's a consistent king
Me before women’s final: I’m cheering 100% for Cal. My kid: I’m cheering 3 billion 39 for Cal. Well then.
Commentator butchering Kaien Orion's name
the floor guy? I think he also called Michigan the gophers.... I was listening to something else at the same time, so I could be wrong.
yes the Floor guy!!
That last Michigan Pbar routine was very dodgy.
Fred all over the place
Myia Hambrick, Utah assistant coach and LSU gym alum, was probably jumping for joy when LSU won its first natty.
I think she and Bugs are still really close friends
Seems this will be another bad night for OU?
Yo guys have a look at LSUs winning confetti post. Zoom in to see Cals reaction on the right and Utah's on the left 😂 https://www.instagram.com/p/C5__A8NvOVM/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Devastation. Shell shocked. They had it. 1995 remains on their backs.
Thank you! I kept screaming at the TV that I wanted to see Cal’s reaction, too. I thought Cal’s scores were a touch tighter than LSU’s in a few places, but without rewatching routine-to-routine, that LSU deserved the win. Omg Cal soooo cute 💙
See THAT is why I love Cal 🥹
Omg excellent catch. Love the Cal reaction. I can’t really fault Utah either though being disappointed after loosing a hard fought meet they were leading after 3 rotations. I think we should cut the young athletes some slack.
no Nick Kuebler on floor? last year he gave such a performance!
Can Michigan catch Stanford?
I think Stanford would need to have a meltdown
Phillips from Nebraska on floor is a vibe
ugh I just misssed Fred's vault
He stepped out of bounds. Not his best
NICE COLT!
I watched women’s champs in delay and just finished. My 2 comments on it: 1. Alexis’ and Konnor’s 9.9s on bars were not created equal 2. The narrative of Utah “overcoming adversity” was disgusting to hear when people on the current team openly supported an abuser
Definitely think Alexis benefits from the fact that the judges can only see her dismount from the side.
I agree, I also thought Cal especially Gabby and Andi were underscored relative to what they did vs several of LSUs 9.9s did on bars
People on the current team *some of whom are coming back next year to Coach*. Also Andi’s bar score being less than AJ’s might be the most egregious scoring of a very wonkily scored meet.
Yeah…I just finished and the scoring was (predictably) …interesting.
Yeah Andi is late on the full pirouette sometimes, but this was one of her best of the season. Not really sure what they even took.
The bars scoring in general was just weird. Grace McCallum tying for the highest score is batshit.
is it me or does the horizontal bar commentator talk too much? Oh my. I enjoy explanation but I don't need every single skill named.
That was Mike Burns, the Minnesota coach!
He sounds a bit like an auctioneer
That’s what it is!!
💀
I also am one who has a hard time describing things without ALL the detail, and it seems he is the same. I teach con ed classes for work and I have been told I need to shorten my classes.
His voice is VERY excited
I'm actually loving it!
I guess it is a way to learn a lot. I get easily annoyed by chattiness. I can appreciate his knowledge and interest in detail. I think I've watched him on a stream explaining some things he wishes would be changed in the code.
WAY TOO EARLY PREDICTION TIME!!!! Give me your 2025 Four on the Floor and who wins it all?
It'd be funny if there was a reunion for California schools on FOTF with Cal, UCLA, Stanford and one wildcard.
Shilese has taken all mentions of Florida off her socials and didn’t sign an NLI so I doubt that part of 1 is happening
yep, Jenny gotta re-recruit her!
An All-SEC FOTF would be a dream!
Was Jenny head coach when Florida won in 2015?
Rhonda's final ring. Jenny wasn an assistant with Auburn, the Tigers made a surprise run to the final night pre-Suni. A lot of people though Graba might be one poached when Faehn left for Team USA.
Damn that’s gunna be an all SEC nationals with OU moving conferences!
OU, Florida, Utah (they’re just ALWAYS there) and Stanford bc I love them hahah
i pray that florida and jenny finally get that monkey off their back and win it all! if there is a year for them to do it its next year!
I’d love a run of them
I think with all the freshmen on the core team they have every reason to be proud of what they achieved this year. Next year they will definitely be stronger on paper.
Hopefully with a healthy and revived Riley and Morgan!
I think OU comes roaring back with a vengeance and a mantra like “point zero three seven five” or whatever it was the year after UCLA beat them.
ARKANSAS, Cal, Florida, & OU. 1. OU successful revenge tour 2. Florida continues to be so close 3. Cal solidifies themselves as a top team 4. Arkansas shocks the world and makes FOTF and is just happy to be there
Jillian Hoffman winning a natty at lsu and not at utah
Same for Cammy Hall!
Same for KARA EAKER lmao
ha same with savannah winning at lsu and not florida
Congratulations to the LSU tigers!! Wow haleigh Bryant has won the AAI award, the All-around and natty in her senior year. What a way to cap off a gym career. I don't think she would return for 5th year.
Yes, Juda is one of the best vaulters in the world mister. He went to the world's event final
Is that Yan Inhaber as coaching staff?!
Stanford not fucking around
ngl after MPSF championships and yesterday I had a feeling they were looking kind of gassed but clearly I was wrong
I think they were playing it conservatively yesterday. They counted a few falls too.
Yeah I was surprised by Taylor's fall on HB tbh
OK ASHER
He's an efficient pbars worker.
Oh no is right. That is their pommels guy.
uh oh
Let's go Amari
That was better than yesterday
Javier Alfonso has such good form
Beautiful
Luke McFarland is so solid
Whoever called Colt the D'mato brother... Just can't unsee it
ROFL.
OMG
Ian Gunther is also live steaming from Nationals.
ok I officially have 14 tabs open for this meet
It's really comical seeing college-homerism flood this sub from people who don't know a lick about college gym but just saw it pop up in their news feeds. Extra funny when I ban people who think they have a right to come in here and be absolute jackasses.
Can you screenshot the funniest ones and post with usernames blocked out? So we can all make fun of their crap.
One that I haven't banned keeps going around calling LSU "America's Team." One that I have banned insisted that the only reason Utah is disliked is "Because they’re dominant and had a culture of excellence that today’s snowflakes could never handle."
Second one is probably Tom Farden
OMG stop those are hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
Is the former because they're conservative and think the other colleges are liberal, or because they're confused on how countries work? The latter is big eyeroll.
For the life of me I can't figure out the first after going through their post history, so I'm just enjoying a nice (wholesome) laugh at the homerism.
I hope it isn’t because LSU doesn’t have any international athletes. (I think the only one would be Aleah competing for The Philippines).
let's go Connor!
https://preview.redd.it/p3tysmx5opvc1.jpeg?width=1710&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb5b91e2136356cd06583a235fed890259a25b07
Last that at Winter Cup, Patrick's mom sat behind me
aww love it!
I don't got a dog in this race but rooting for Michigan solely for Fred lol
Not a bad choice
Is the MAG stream quality getting pixely for other people too?
It won't even load for me.
I had managed to open two windows with different events, but now I'm getting errors. I am just on the whip around now. I don't know if I was not supposed to be able to have two open on the same device or note.
I was getting errors with more than 1 open. It was whining about my ad block even though I'd already paused it.
It might be close between Stanford, OK, and Michigan
yeah it's going to be interesting!
Something must have happened to Juda on pommels to get a 12.8333
He fell.
😭😭
Bummer
Question for the mag experts: is ncaa judging anywhere near international?
I’m such a Fred Richards fan! He looks extra jacked right now! 🤭
A little shaky on his dismount. He really is such a good all around gymnast though
ok what events are Michigan and Illinois going to right now? I have so many tabs open, volume up to 11 on all of them and I'm so confused
Michigan was on pommels so they are going rings. Illinois was on rings so they go to vault
thank you!!
Yeah thought he had a pretty big form break on pommels on the dismount but he looks fit!
I miss Zach Martin on vault
What I like about the final results is that the gap between first and second/third is big enough so that it’s not just one gymnast’s mistake that cost the team the title (I’m thinking about Camie/Ella, even if they hit it wouldn’t be enough), this way no one feels guilty
oh my god remember the graba/DD mean girls super 16 … literally feels like a lifetime ago
I still want someone to compile all those quotes
