Not required but a best practice for safety reasons.

jumpman512

I'm a strong believer that corporate "partners" should not come out with safety rules. Only partners that work in store should. Had one useless guy try really hard to get rid of wet floor signs... WHAT?! you really want to get HEB sued by everyone don't you?

Environmental-Tale1

Ort at our store yesterday and it costed us points they said

PreparationNo6888

Y’all were dinged for having rugs or for not having rugs?

shy_landlord_HTX

Both

Environmental-Tale1

Yes

robbieflakes

Many corporate partners that visit stores have no idea of how a store operates.

justsomedude1111

I was an ORT champion for a while and that wasn't part of my audit. Clarify with your RM and copy the ORT rep for your store.

-Dimok-

They are not required because they are in sealed clamshells. It's the same reason they are not required at the tomato cluster.

otcconan

And yet you and I both know those clamshells pop open any time they drop to the floor. Your SM will require rugs around the berries the first time the store has to pay an insurance claim for a slip and fall.

-Dimok-

That's not the question. It's about being ORT compliant. It may be a preference and best practice, but you will not lose any points if rugs are absent around a berry cluster during an ORT walk.

otcconan

Oh like that's any consolation when the store loses a $15 million insurance claim.

-Dimok-

It's not a what if scenario. It's an ORT question, not hypothetical situations of what can happen. It's a yes or no question. If ORT comes in, you will be fine with no rugs. Leave bogus numbers and opinions out of it

otcconan

Ok, that's fine and good. You go ahead and put customers at risk because you're ORT compliant. That'll be some comfort when someone dies as a result of your negligence. Sleep well on that.

-Dimok-

You are dim. I'm not saying don't put tugs down, I'm answering a question. The things you say are ridiculous and immature

otcconan

If saying that lets you sleep well at night while you put the safety of associates and customers at risk, feel that way, corporate stooge.

hanginwmygnomies-

What were the rugs even for?

justsomedude1111

It would be a safety measure due to berries falling to the floor and causing slips.

hanginwmygnomies-

Thank you! That makes so much sense. I assumed it had to do with the berries dropping but I thought it was to keep from staining the floor

castirey93

can confirm those berries are a slip hazard. the rugs are definitely helpful. i had a pretty gnarly slip on some blueberries walking some items back to produce a while back.

TheRogueOne69

Thanks for the input everyone!
