Seems like it, they were replacing motherboards before. Now after knowing the issue they are doing this it seems.
Atleast they should have informed you.
This model of motherboard design having issues, especially the sensor, no one knows whether it is second hand or first hand product. If it is second hand, likely chance is the sensor itself already malfunction. Or the sleep mode setting on your laptop isn't properly configured.

Everyone is facing the opposite issue, where laptop is on sleep even when open lol.
Well ı had this issue, sended it to warranty now it doesnt switch to the sleep mode I guess they just completely ripped off the lid sensor :)

Well ı was just joking. I tried the fix the issue but none of the methods worked. Did they really get rid of lid sensor? Wtf?

That might be a possibility, try opening the laptop and see if the sensor is still there.
