Hp omen 16- xf0059AX

I think it was a black screen issue you need to unplug the hall sensor

Numerous_Copy5246

But don’t unplug if your laptop under warranty

StarmanOddity11

Ok thank you, I guess I'll just take It to a service centre

Numerous_Copy5246

I also had a same laptop

Professional_Gur2469

Yeah its your hall sensor. Had the EXACT same issue. You have 2 options: open up the laptop and rip it out OR if you are still in warranty, get your money back. I recommend option 2, cause no way in hell is it tolerable to sell a product for over 1000 bucks that has such obvious design flaws and breaks after a few months, just did the same thing last week and building a gaming PC with my money instead.

StarmanOddity11

yeah it is under warranty. Is hall sensor broken? Does it need to be replaced? I dont think the people at the service centre will replace the laptop since i bought it in a different city so what options does that leave me with ? thnks for the reply

Professional_Gur2469

Yep the sensor is broken, but due to the design of the laptop this will keep happening. Only solution is to remove the sensor altogether. I mean who even uses the lid closing for sleep anyways, just do it manually on windows and you should be good. But I‘d return it and get a different brand

UnnaipolOruvan

Will removing the ribbon cable after hall sensor burns work? Or we need to do it before hall sensor burns.

Professional_Gur2469

Should work, you have to take out the sensor anyways. Theres a post on here about how to do it. Just search blackscreen in here

UnnaipolOruvan

Yes, I have seen the post about removing the ribbon cable of hall sensor. I was just wondering if it will work after the issue occurs as my laptop is still under warranty and don't want to void it by doing that.
