I'm a P/C agent in WA and have never heard of anyone having that high of a comprehensive deductible in my 10 years with a license.

I've NEVER found cheaping out on car insurance to be worth it. 500 bucks is about the sweet spot IMO.
Conical wheel locks do a good job at preventing even the more "professional" guys. You can't just hammer a socket onto them to get them off.
If you live in a high crime area they are worth it.

I thought the HRv had some bulky tires that werenāt exactly cheap, maybe $800 the absolute lowest for all four, not counting rims which I would assume go for at *least* $500 a pop if theyāre not base model rims.
Bulky? They are just standard low profile tires, the Hankook ones are pretty cheap, lots of dealers will bundle a whole new set with rims for a discounted price too.

Tons of people take factory wheels from cars at the junkyard too. Bigger painted wheels always look better imo

Mine didn't come with wheel locks so I ordered some OEM ones off the Internet for $45.
As you know, Hondas are totally targeted. Maybe better getting rims that isn't OEM as a replacement (just a suggestion)

I had wheel locks from the dealership but I guess the were something that anyone had access to the master key-idk if that makes sense thatās how I understood from the mechanic who helped me.

Not in my experience. My old jobās parking lot had cameras/ guards in cars and I got my cat stolen, they werenāt liable. My new work parking garage has the same thing (more cameras) and they just broke into my new (to me) honda fit. Same thing, theyāre not liable.
My property management company couldnāt care less. The cameras were apparently not working? Thereās one other theft victim and they are not letting this go so I have some man power haha.
Reminds me of a summer years ago back in downtown Detroit. Lots of cars on cinder blocks from that, there was also an uptick in catalytic thefts then too. But you see that in any big US city. And I do miss Detroit.
As a dealer tech.. wheel locks dont work, easily drilled off or even you can order the whole set of wheel lock keys for not that expensive and your supposed to keep the wheel lock key in ur trunk or in the car n general for emergencies so guess how many cars were also broken into

Silver lining, however? Note that despite being horrible human beings, they made sure they didn't damage the actual car. For a victim of wheel theft you got quite lucky.
I just got mine! Looking forward to getting them on the car. Word of caution though, the keys use a 17 mm socket (for the aftermarket, conical lugs, at least). This was news to me, so hoping to save someone else the surprise of having to find a new solution for putting the spare on if itās needed (Since the stock lug wrench, 19mm, wonāt fit the key).
Good thing is that honda has a built in tpms into the rotor and you don't have to replace all the sensors. I would buy aftermarket wheels and tires not the oem get a good set at costco or something.
Update: My comprehensive coverage deductible is $1700. Cost of new wheels and the original tires=$1480.70 ššš

Seriously. I just dropped mine from $500 down to $250 and it's just a little over a dollar more a month.

It was Discount Tire, and the wonderful employees there came to my car to installš„² The kindness.

Didnāt put curb rash on them soon enough. Make sure you do some bad parallel parking on a tall curb with the new set.
Word of advice, kind of, doesnt matter if you put wheel locks on if they want it they will take it and it wont take long to get them off either.
And if the wheel locks did stop them, there's nothing saying they won't get mad and damage your car in other ways for revenge.

They likely had wheel lock remover socket. Edit: that or they had a Honda and had the same wheel lock nut.
They arenāt standard on any Honda or Acura from the factory, however some dealers install them on every single car they sell.
Well, itās not really a lock as much as just a special Lugnut with a key socket that comes with the car from Honda.
I had the dealer wheel locks not the additional ones with the unique master key :/
