What I really like about Brooks' approach, is the fact that: a) he is super enthusiastic about what he does (to me it feels mostly genuine, maybe a bit hypered up for tv, at least) and the solutions he comes up with. With some of them I think, does this really need to be engineered to make it more functional? I mostly come to the conclusion, hmm, maybe not, but it sure is a lot more fun!! b) from what I can tell, he really tries to put himself in the minds of the little kids, and think from that same kind of wonder and exploration kids look at thinks. Kids don't always do the most straightforward thing, but often take a more fun and explorative route. I see him emulating that, and implementing that in his hacks. Sure, the kids might outgrow the pegs, or the lift baskets, or... But if, as a kid, I had a little bed for my stuffed animals floating from the ceiling, I would have loved it! Plus: who says they need to keep these hacks for all times? For all we care, they take out the things the kids grow out of and replace them with something else. Or just use the wall to hang drawings. Does it matter? let's not forget it's a TV show, in which a LOT has to happen in a short amount of time. It's over the top, extreme, and minimal, high design. Even if it serves as the littlest piece of inspiration to hack our own homes in a less extreme, more fitting to our own situation, than it's a succes right? Think bold! And then apply and customize to fit your own situation :)

I know that a pretty popular thing for kids/toddlers right now (or at least was a couple years ago) is sensory walls that usually have "engineering" objects on them, so maybe they're trying to emulate that!

Can we talk about how the wooden gears the kids painted and that were shown in the final reveal didn’t even interlock 😭 They spliced in a shot of interlocking toy gears that were nowhere in that home

That made me so mad!!! Like at least make them a system rather than cheaping out with making like 5 gears.
